This place is used for kimono fabric artists and exhibits the material to learn about kaga-yuzen kimono. You can wear real kaga-yuzen kimono and take photos. The staff working here was very friendly to help fit the kimono. You can also choose a template design and try painting the fabric.

We spent a delightful afternoon at the Nagamachi Yuzenkan Silk Centre learning how to hand paint silk! I highly recommend making a stop by the centre to learn about the very long and skilled process of silk painting and try your own hand at it. After an hour or two you will be in absolute awe of the time, skill, and artistry which goes into making beautiful kimono and hand painted silk. The staff will professionally finish and mail your painting to your home country. We just recieved ours today and love them. This was definitely an unexpected highlight of my trip to Kanazawa! Thank you!

I had the great pleasure of interviewing the kimono master here several years ago, and have always recommended people stop by for the beautiful work, kimono rental options, and up close look at the kimono-making process. I was deeply sorry to hear about his passing last year and dearly hope the museum will reopen, even if at a reduced capacity, so that more people can enjoy the philosophy and beauty of his work, especially so close to the Samurai District.

I went to Japan for my honeymoon, this was a surprising little jem. I work in a textile mill and loved this little museum it was beautiful presented and the owner was lovely I learnt so much and would definitely recommend going if you are in the area. Price for admission is so worth it. The kimonos are beautiful, I actually want to take a course in how to do it myself as it is fasinating.

The studio showcases very fine and beautiful 'Kaga Yuzen' silk kimonos, silk textiles and provides insight into the traditional 'Kaga Yuzen' silk hand-painting and dyeing techniques from Kanazawa.

加賀友禅は今日友禅に比べて写実的で自然だそうです。さりげない感じがいいですね。気張ってない感じがいいです。体験もできるらしいので,今度は体験をしてみたいです。周りも趣が残っています。いいなぁ金沢〜
