"The Colonnade on Cheshire Bridge Road opened in 1927, and it’s fair to say, it’s weathered through a lot over the past (almost) century: there’s the pandemic, two bridge fires, and new ownership under Paul Donahue and Lewis Jeffries in September 2024. Through it all, local favorite dishes have stood the test of time. The crab cakes, peaches and cheese, fried chicken, turkey and dressing, and beef stroganoff are comfort food must-orders. And for the first time, the Colonnade has a brand new wine list — you can’t go wrong with the Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne or Dr. Loosen’s Riesling with the Southern classics on the menu, plus the Benton Lane pinot noir from Oregon will be an excellent pairing with the salmon croquettes. Don’t worry, the bar is still cranking out banger Cosmos and Old Fashioneds. —Henna Bakshi" - Missy Frederick
