New Mexican Seafood Restaurant La Seareinita Opens in Austin | Eater Austin
"I learned that La Seareinita will open Wednesday, May 29 at 2305 Burleson Road in South Austin’s East Riverside-Oltorf neighborhood, taking over the former Whataburger space. It’s a smaller spin-off of Gabriela’s Group’s Seareinas from founders Gabriela and Arturo Bucio, focused on Sinaloa-style seafood with a menu of ceviches, tostadas, and cócteles and a full bar serving margaritas (frozen and on the rocks), palomas, tequilas, and mezcals. The spot will eventually run a drive-thru for takeout cocktails — including margaritas, frozens, and micheladas topped with seafood — and initially will be open 5–10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon–10 p.m. Friday through Sunday, with plans to expand. The indoor dining room is lively and decorative, featuring custom monstera wallpaper, a turquoise floor, lots of hanging plants, neon signage, statues of Jesús Malverde and a neon-draped mermaid, a black-tiled bathroom with butterfly wallpaper, local DJs, and 10 televisions for sports." - Nadia Chaudhury
