"Technically a brand-new bar, current owners Leonard Lopp and Dwayne Wickersham took over from LA artist and DJ Shark Toof in October. The pair have taken High Dive in a different direction from its frenzied dance days. Lopp brings a wealth of experience and cocktail creativity from his days at the Keep in downtown Detroit, a bartender’s favorite that shut down in 2020. Lopp now presides over a ragtag bunch of longtime restaurant industry folks, geeky writers, music lovers, and Hamtramck denizens while serving a deep, deep menu of mezcal and tequila, along with a wide range of nonalcoholic cocktails.
