"Sylvan Park’s Hathorne takes cues from its building’s previous incarnation as the former fellowship hall of a historic church — the restaurant, which also has a large heated patio, is warm, unpretentious, and encourages conversation among its congregants. Chef-owner John Stephenson takes great care with the New American fare here, where vegetarian dishes like golden beets in a tahini-onion puree and sweet potato agnolotti hold their own against or even outshine their meat-filled counterparts. Similarly, beverage director Hayley Teague’s thoughtful mocktail menu keeps things interesting." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones, Eater Staff
