But at as Campecino-Wong says, that kaya toast is in fact a “gateway drug” to the cafe’s broader menu, which features an exceptionally creamy shishito pepper grilled cheese smeared with gochujang mayo; a “shrimpwich” with a panko gulf shrimp patty and snow pea slaw; and a summer squash egg salad bunwich, among other sandwiches.
