"Led by chef Jackie Carnesi, a New York veteran who trained in Napa and rose through kitchens including Empellón Cocina and Roberta’s, this new Greenpoint restaurant is opening with a menu honed through active R&D. Early dishes include fuchsia- and turmeric-tinted deviled eggs sprinkled with guaje seeds; pickled mussels in a punchy coconut broth; a radicchio salad dressed with prickly-pear vinaigrette and cashew cream; tandoor-baked breads; and an intensely developed chicken with a high-gloss, crisp exterior she’s experimenting with glazing in guava and ssamjang, alongside plans to source chicken hearts. The breezily industrial, skylit dining room is filled with potted plants, onion-stained alpaca lampshades and brass trimmings, and the project is the second from owners Scott Hawley and Michelle Lobo-Hawley of Otis. Carnesi is determined to run a fun, humane kitchen where people have the energy to cook with love, and the debut menu—finally published under her name—aims to define both the restaurant’s identity and her as a chef." - Rachel Sugar
