"Opening soon in Brooklyn under the BQE, this new sandwich shop is the brick-and-mortar project of social-media personality Danny Mondello (known as Cugine). He’s finalizing a short menu that includes the Hey Toots (turkey and spicy soppressata); the How Ya’ Doin,’ a.k.a. the Madone (chicken cutlet and broccoli rabe); and Ya Sista, a combo of thin-sliced roast beef, caramelized onions, horseradish spread and a complementary cup of juice. Sandwiches and gelato will be the main draws, he plans to revive a labor-intensive iced-coffee slush from the location’s past, and he even hopes to serve Diet Coke on draft as a signature touch. More than a celebrity pop-up, he intends the place to feel like an old Italian social club — rooted in local Italian-American restaurant and deli traditions and connected to the neighborhood businesses that surround it." - Jason Diamond
