The Best Noodle Soups In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"Somewhere between a golf ball and a tennis ball, the excellent shrimp and pork wontons at this Chinatown spot (the original location is in Flushing) have the same plump folds as a pudgy haloed baby in a Renaissance painting. Together with Maxi’s deeply savory broth—made with pork bones and shrimp—and the pleasantly chewy duck-egg noodles, they make for a comforting meal, especially if you add on the beef stew that’s simmered for three days." - willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, nikko duren

Google
$11 beef brisket soup vermicelli. Good flavor with clear & tangy noodles. Ordered at counter and took a seat. Food came out super fast in under 1 minute and was brought to my table by a staff. Very clean shop & organized. Seating capacity is around 20 people. Open space with good air ventilation coming from both entrances. Felt like I was walking into a club on main st entrance. Variety of other food shops inside Golden Mall

Google
The noodle soups are fantastic, rich in flavor. The beef is just the right amount of tender and toughness. The pork intestines were great! The service was average. It is located in a food court but it has its own seating.

Isa

Google
My favorite beef noodle spot in flushing, their chili oil is also delicious! Perfect portion size and the staff is also incredibly nice. Designated seating available for those who want to dine in. As a local this spot is a 10/10!

Steve Poon

Google
Really loved the beef tripe noodles with light spice level. Great flavor with a pleasant spice level. Hard to find seats during busier times though.

Nick Preuss

Google
Top notch. Great noodle soup. Broth has a wonderful flavor and the pricing is aggressive.

Google
great food but extremely rude male elder cashier. the male cashier’s rude attitude to make us move without respectfully asking totally ruined the experience for my mom and i. i am never the type to put a review out like this but i’ve never felt more disrespected in my life.

Google
I love their dry noodles, and I can try their other varieties next time Rating: 100/100

青椒肉沫粉好好吃哦,便宜又大碗,还附送一份汤。美食城的服务一般,但价格实惠。经常来这家买碗粉当午饭。

Yelp
I love the noodles here. I got mild spicy and it was just right for me. The peanuts gave it a nice crunch texture. The beef was nice and soft. The marinated egg was also delicious. Overall, the food is great.

Yelp
My goto beef noodle soup spot. Really affordable and really good. The service is also super fast and definitely a dine and go place with lots of people/locals getting a quick bite.

Yelp
Maybe I haven't been paying attention but I feel like there is a sudden influx of a lot of new Guizhou-style rice noodle places around Flushing. Niuddo has been around for a while, to be clear, but I decided to finally try it out after having a few good experiences with beef rice noodles nearby. The inside is positively tiny - a quintessential hole-in-the-wall restaurant - in fact, so small there isn't any space for a trash can (when you finish eating, you bring your disposable bowl and other trash items back to the counter for them to throw away for you). Seats are not very plentiful, but turnover is fast as people speedily slurp their scrumptious noodles. I had the classic stewed beef shank rice noodle. Noodles were yummy and the beef was soft and so delicious (and there was a very generous amount too). The soup was a bit too salty to drink directly but sipping a bit with each bite of noodles paired quite well. I saw that some people added roasted peanuts to their noodles, which seemed like a near combo to try next time. Yummy noodles for only $9 (even less than most of the food court noodle spots) - what more is there to say? Will definitely be back!

Yelp
The unforgettable beef stew rice noodle will be something you must try if you are around downtown flushing. The store is small, but I always can find a spot to enjoy my food there. Remember to ask for pickle cabbage. They would let you know it is free. Service is quick.
google avatar

Yelp
Noodle was perfectly cooked with plenty of bok choy and the braised egg was delicious. Didn't think of putting peanuts in there but it def added more flavors to the dish. The staff was very friendly and helpful it's a hole in a wall place can seat about 7-8 and we'll maintained and clean.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by for an early lunch here. I ordered the spicy beef tripe noodle soup. It was very good. It cost me $9.50. Wall seating for 4-5 people. Another 4 spots at tables. It's a small place but worth stopping in. Tables and kitchen area were very clean. Can't wait to return and add the extras to noodle soup.

Angela L.

Yelp
Beef is tender, noodles are good, as well as the soup. My noodles came out really fast as they keep the water boiling all day.

Teresa J.

Yelp
Delicious rice noodles. Smooth like spaghetti and not heavy so you don't feel them sitting in your stomach after you eat. Broth has great flavor. They don't give a ton of meat which is fine for me because I mostly go for the noodles. Can choose your preferred level of mala and various other toppings. Good quality and very cheap.

G B.

Yelp
Broth is nothing special, ambiance is nothing special but it's the melt in your mouth almost buttery beef bits that do it for me. Oh and it's under ten bucks.
google avatar

Lily Q.

Yelp
Beef stank melt in your mouth Current price $8.5 cash They don't do fried eggs anymore just a marinated boiled egg :/
google avatar

Victor C.

Yelp
They are known for their variety of noodle soups, which are tasty. Not much of an ambiance or service, but that's expected.

Yelp
Stubbled upon this ... "P3 Spicy" , quick and friendly serves in a cozy location. - AMAZING BOWL OF SOUP - terrible photos on my part. Across the street from the Queens Flushing Library See you there!

Elle L. M.

Yelp
It was difficult for me to order as I did not speak Mandarin. The staff was able to understand some English and by pointing to the menu. It's a small shop with counter space and a few stool of you prefer to eat in. Most people carry out. I enjoy the spicy noodle and will come back if parking wasn't so hard to come by In Downtown Flushing.
google avatar

Yelp
I highly recommend ordering the #1 which is the stewed beef shank if you come here. The marinated meats don't come with broth and it's more of a dry noodle. This place is perfect for a cold, winter day and will warm your soul. The stewed beef shank comes with cubed beef that has been cooked til it's perfectly tender. The noodle soup is a little on the oily side. But the dish is hearty and will definitely satisfy you ^_^ I suggest adding an egg to your noodle soup too. We tried checking in on yelp to get one free marinated egg, but the workers didn't really seem to understand it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. It's only a dollar extra though! Shop itself is pretty small, but doesn't seem too crowded every time I walk by. I also like the play on words with the name of the restaurant ^_^
google avatar

Yelp
I order the stew beef shank and then give me spicy one This is a simple order, which shows how they don't care about the customer's needs

Yelp
Not much to say, simply one of my favorite beef soup noodle place in Flushing. Not sure why there are no reviews, but maybe it's because everyone eating here speaks Chinese only. It is always busy at lunch and definitely worth the wait, which is not long due to fast turnover. You just have to be okay with possibly sharing a table with strangers. What's different about this beef noodle shop from all the others is their consistency at making super tender and delicious beef, cut into small cubes, served in an awesome clear beef broth that is not masked by soy sauce. I have tried a lot of beef noodles in Flushing, from Taiwanese style to Lan Zhou to Shanghainese, this is one of the best imho. Oh yeah, they use packaged noodles and don't make their own like some other places in Flushing. If you have a problem with that, then you should stop eating at 95% of the Japanese ramen shops around the city. If you didn't know, even some of the top ramen shops order their noodles through Sun Brand in Teterboro, NJ. Now, I do think this is one of their shortcomings, where Lanzhou makes a chewier, more sophisticated hand pulled noodle, but this noodle is still pretty good. Btw, I typically order beef noodles (you can choose rice noodle as well) and add a side of beef tendon or large pork intestines. Also, tell them how spicy you like it or there will be a small kick. I personally like it very spicy and enjoy the fact that my food is fighting back a bit. Regardless of what you choose, this place should be recognized by more noodle lovers.

Yelp
Great mi xian place! Plain and simple dining setting. You eat your mi xian soup in a plastic bowl but again this place is not meant to be fancy. Soup is tasty especial if it hasn't been diluted a few times. Mi xian is well boiled to just the right amount of chewiness. Mi xian fans should try this place out.

Yelp
This place is hidden away on the same block as Golden Mall. Just walk down the block until you get to a door with multiple businesses listed. You'll walk past a dumpling place and see this place next. I enjoyed the food, and it's more of a 3.75 star, which I'm rounding up to four. I went with the large beef noodle soup ($6.50) and added a serving of pork large intestine ($2). I didn't realize they did this, but they asked if I wanted to make it "tingly spicy". Of course I said yes! They essentially add in some chili oil made with Szechuan peppers to give it that distinctive tingly sensation. You can ask for different levels of tingly spiciness, so I'd suggest going for small or medium so you can still taste the broth. The broth itself was quite good, although with the medium spicy oil mixed it, I was tasting more of the spiciness than anything else. It did have nice body to it though. The meat was not quite as plentiful as I had hoped, but what was given was tasty. The beef had some tendon running through it so it was very tender. The intestine had good flavor. I felt the intestine was cut too thin and they could have given me a bit more for $2. The noodles were cooked well, although they were packaged noodles. This is why I'm rating this place a 4 instead of a 5. I feel you get a better bowl of noodles at Lan Zhou Hand-pulled Noodles inside Golden Mall. They give much more meat and the noodles are made fresh for you. I don't feel like I'd miss the tingly spiciness and I'm happy with just some normal hot oil.

Yelp
Niuddo is a fast-food style beef rice noodle soup that packs with flavor! Simple and fresh ingredients with taste and hardiness that will satisfy anyone who is craving for noodles. The noodles hit me so hard, I ordered a second bowl after devouring the first one :) That's one of my 5/5 criteria. You can select either the broth or the dry version. It has two types of noodles, their signature rice noodles or the regular wheat noodles. In the cold weather, I would 100% go for the soup base, though the owner likes the dry version for it's stronger flavor. They are very generous with the portions as well. There are also traditional side dishes you can order to combine with the meal, which I will try next time. This new noodle spot has all the loveable factors of the hole-in-the-wall restaurant PLUS it's clean! Definitely a great find and a must-try.

Yelp
Been eating here for years, owner always present and works very hard. Good attitude employees. Very reasonable price at $7 a bowl. Add in some veggies and a soy egg and its still under $10 bucks. Very comfortable little humble noodle place thats very underated. Lets keep it that way shall we.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing Guizhou beef noodle soup. Their broth is the bomb and spicy is very spicy. The beef is SO SO tender and I love a good rice noodle. They were formerly located inside of Golden Mall (one of those hole-in-the-wall, no English stalls) but they relocated outside, right on Main Street and revamped their whole brand (along with price). My only complaint is that while it is still affordable, it is a bit pricey for this end of flushing - but I would still buy it.

Yelp
Goes crazy bruh, noodles so fire like it aint even real. Best noodle spot in Flushing.

Yelp
(This review is for an Uber Eats delivery) Honestly the food was so gooooood. I ordered the beef shank noodle soup with extra meat, bokchoy, and egg. Although the soup was mild in color, the broth was still rich and flavorful. I'm glad I decided to order from here. I also ordered a side of the spicy sausage, and it was also tasty. It wasn't the spicy that was expected as in "hot," but more of a "spiced" spicy if that makes sense. My only two qualms was the chili oil not being really spicy at all (barely changed the flavor of the broth), and the meat. The meat was tender and flavorful, but a bit on the salty side for me. The portion also seemed small. I only received a decent amount because I ordered extra. I was expecting it to be way more meat. All in all, still delicious and a great first time experience having rice noodles. Cant wait to try out other meats/noodle combos here.
google avatar

Wennndy L.

Yelp
Quick in and out to grab my delivery. Soup was well seasoned. There is an okay amount of meat. I ordered beef tendons. If you can't eat spicy, little spice is sufficient:)
google avatar

Jian Q.

Yelp
I ordered the stewed beef shank and spicy sausages. The sausages tasted good but you gonna be ready cause it's really spicy. The noodle is ok and it's filling beef. Nice! Very good price and taste not bad. I will say it's a good lunch option in weekdays. PS: the shop is tiny and it's not designed for the party:)
google avatar

K L.

Yelp
Good quick eats. At $6 to $7 a bowl of soup noodles, I would say it's relatively cheap. Everything is served out of plastic ware (bowls, forks and spoons) excerpt for the wooden chopsticks. It's a small hole in the wall with 3 tables and a sit up bar style for 6 people. It's self seating and a walk up to the cashier to order and to get your food. Service is pretty quick. Food comes out really hot. Stewed beef shank was very tasty. Many people were ordering to carry out. Check in to get your complimentary egg
google avatar

Wendy L.

Yelp
Really nice food joint. All they sell are just rice noodle varieties. When you come here you are not looking for fine dinner but that awesome rice noodle soup perfectly boiled to just the right chewiness. Soup was great too. I come here every once in a while. Price is reasonable. But they recently have raised the price a little. I would recommend it.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite lunch spots to go to , I've tried plenty of little shops in the Flushing area but this noodle shop has a very great tasting broth that comes with the beef shank rice noodle soup . The rice noodle is the perfect texture for slurping and chewing but I prefer to slurp my noodles . I normally add bok choy for a dollar extra to get some veggies in my soup and I normally request my soup to be spicy . this noodle shop is always friendly to me and other customers . This shop is very well clean and professional attire . If you happen to read this post give it a try and if you're not really into soup and need recommendations try B1 . Thank you and have a great day !!!

Amy L.

Yelp
Quick, simple, and just absolutely delicious. Serving size is pretty average in terms, and pricing ranges from $7-12( w/ add ons). If you are looking to eat something simple in flushing this is the place! Relatively small, but busy. I ordered the B3 "marinated Beef shank, and it's really good. Noodles were warm and ready to eat, and the thinly sliced beef goes really well with the noodles. Has peanuts on top! Really good!
google avatar

Yelp
Hidden gem in Flushing. There are lots of noodle soups in Flushing but this is by far one of the best. It is basically a little stand inside golden world mall on Main Street. The beef noodle is my favorite. If you like spicy food ask them to make it spicy. I usually will ask for just a little spicy because I think it's pretty spicy. The beef is very tender. No seating, or very little. They have two fold up tables. I dont like the decor so this is always a to go for me.
google avatar

Vivi X.

Yelp
We were so surprised to find this gem in the middle of Main Street at Flushing. Grew up in Guiyang, Guizhou myself, I can guarantee you the food here is authentic and amazing!!!! Of course, my husband who loves Guizhou Lamb & Beef noodle soup was extremely happy too. We are only here for two days for a friend's wedding but I've decided to come back every morning/noon to have a bowl of my beloved niu rou fen!
google avatar

Jordan Z.

Yelp
Had the noodle soup with lamb meat. So good. The broth was simple, flavorful, and delicious while the noodles were just the right texture. Perfectly done noodles in soup.
google avatar

Cerena C.

Yelp
Go here for deliciously chewy, QQ mixian/mifen! The broth is flavorful and I love that there's a vegetarian one with a good amount of bok choy and an egg. The ladies are super nice and this is the perfect hole-in-a-wall. Only cash, even for purchases over $10.

Ni W.

Yelp
Thanks for the response, I understand your store is popular and I'have always like you not only because of the flavor but also the staffs friendly service.

Helen X.

Yelp
I bought the marinated beef tendon noodle soup and their Beijing yougurt. Both were good, noodle was pretty big, generous amount of thick cut tendons, soup is a little too much msg for my tongue because I felt thirsty before I finished the noodle but overall taste is good. Beijing yougurt is excellent too, not too sweet like some other place made. Noodle was $7 very reasonable price and was ready in 5 mins for pick up.
google avatar

Sharon K.

Yelp
The price is good, meat has lots of flavors, but the soup is too salty for my taste. Maybe too much Msg? The lady at the front counter also been polite and very patient as I made my decision.
google avatar

Hua Z.

Yelp
This place is hidden, you'll miss it if you weren't careful. The price is cheaper than other noodles stores in the area but the amount of food is a little less than other places. Beef tasted fresh and the broth was good too. Seating area is a little small and may be crowded at times

Jen C.

Yelp
Great spot for quick and delicious noodles and soup. I always try to come here when I'm in Flushing. with covid shutting indoor dining out so if you don't live in the area it's hard to find a place to eat but don't let that deter you!
google avatar

Gloria C.

Yelp
Nice and spicy stewed beef shank. Our order was ready in minutes. Place was nice and clean although it was a bit tight inside. I'd recommend coming back here for a quick delicious meal!

Yelp
I've been this place for more than 5 years, never write review for this place. The staff are friendly and remember what we always order, same good flavor, and remodel recently with clean decor.

Ioana S.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed the noodles, they were perfectly cooked and beef was tender. Great spice and taste. Great place for a quick bite.

Yelp
I didn't mean to go here, but I'm really glad I did! This was my first trip to the Golden Mall, and my first trip to Flushing in a long, long time. I was excited to get there to grab some food before my flight out of Laguardia, but that's just the back story... The Golden Mall is a little intimidating to a non-Chinese speaking newcomer. There's a lot going on in a little space, and there's not much obvious English. I walked around, saw something that looked good and figured I'd take a shot. The stall was one of the larger ones, there was a seat at the counter and people lined up for take out. A nice lady taking orders with English skills WAY better than my Mandarin skills got what I was saying when I order the beef spicy hot pot - with a water it was $7. I was kindly offered a fork - but I'm not that bad off. It was a very welcoming gesture none-the-less. A couple of minutes later I was presented with a huge (disposable) bowl of fire red hot soup loaded with noodles, shredded beef, mushrooms, tofu, veggies and things I don't know what they were but were great. The temperature heat was scalding but right, the spicy heat was intense. I leaned over my bowl and set to work, sweating and slurping, eating nameless ingredients in this soup just loaded with chile oil. It was fantastic. The noodles and good amount of chewiness to them, but I wish there were more. I'm not a hot pot guy (yet), so I'm thinking maybe noodles are part of the fun, but not the main attraction? Still learning. Not sure I'll be back to this place next time I'm in Flushing because of all the great choices, but I recommend it and wouldn't mind if I stumbled back in there again soon.

Casey H.

Yelp
My favorite rice noodle place in NYC! Amazing flavors, very reasonably priced! Love their cabbage veggies! Too bad it's all the way in flushing. I hope they open up a shop in Manhattan soon, I'd be ordering 5 times a week!

Yelp
This is a tiny vendor that rents out #4 (the seating) and #9 (the kitchen) parts of the food-court-type building. It is the second-to-last vendor in the food court hallway (the last vendor being a Fujianese food stand). It is a hole-in-the-wall establishment, the kind where to throw your finished bowl of leftover noodle soup out, you pour it into a trash bucket with a sieve on top, and then toss the bowl out into the regular trash can. Yea, one of those shacks. There are 3 tables with a total of about 9 stools. The most ordered item on the menu is the first one listed: the beef noodle. The big bowl is $4.50 and the small bowl is $4.00. You can either choose the noodle as "fun (smooth strands of noodles)" or "mian (feels more like it's pulled noodles)." IMHO, the mian absorbs more flavor. The chunks of beef taste better and more tender than they look. Their menu is in total Chinese, but it would be helpful to point to what others are eating. Chances are, it's the beef noodle. Anyway, the owners know some basic English. On their counter, there is a vat of sliced cabbage dunked in some kind of pink colored vinegar. Meant to be a free appetizer. It was absolutely lukewarm and terribly disgusting to me. Is this Chinese cole slaw? Don't touch. The bathroom here is nasty, don't touch that either. I have tasted better beef noodles, as from the hand-pulled noodle shop in Golden Mall right around the corner (see my other review). It is also $4.50 a bowl there, but the soup/beef/noodles are more flavorful.
google avatar

Amador A.

Yelp
Great small vendor located in the Golden Mall. From what it seems all they have is soup bowls or hot pots so on cold days like this it a great place to stop by. Each dish had fresh cut noodles which someone will kinda make right in front of you because this place is so small. Broth is good and you can select meat from regular beef to duck to lamb intestine. Average price of a dish is $5.50 and you get a lot. Overall its good here in a good foodie location in Flushing. FYI..if you plan on a day of shopping don't come here afterwards because you will not have a place to put to stuff.
google avatar

Jean S.

Yelp
I brought noodle for my lunch at the morning time. This store worked really fast, and I love it. I will go there again.
google avatar

Jimmy C.

Yelp
This place has the most amazing beef noodle soup... with chili and Szechuan peppercorn..Mala flavor...and order their beef tripe appetizer...$6.00. Only for noodle...
google avatar

Yelp
Every time I go there's a line. Their noodles are SUPER... Soup is very flavorful. Can't get enough of it. So please, go away and let me in!
