"Hands-down the best hostel in Mexico City, I find Casa Pepe equal parts cultural hub and boutique hostel — it organizes tons of activities like lucha libre nights, tequila tastings, and a different free walking tour each day. I appreciated the small guest kitchen, free filtered water 24/7, a WhatsApp chat to connect with other guests, and a spacious co-working space. The rooms are clean, bright, and spacious; dorms have lockers and pod-style beds with privacy curtains, personal reading lights, outlets, USB ports, and a mini lock box to secure electronics while charging. The rooftop terrace houses a bar/restaurant serving traditional Mexican cuisine, offers morning rooftop yoga and weekend live DJs, and the hostel even has female-only dorms for extra privacy and security. Located just a few blocks from the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Zócalo, it’s my top pick if you want a social, well-located stay." - Matthew Kepnes
