"This beach serves as the traditional starting point for the annual Nevis to St. Kitts Cross Channel Swim, a 4-kilometer open-water race that draws swimmers from around the globe. The event is deliberately inclusive—participants of all skill levels are welcome, fins and snorkels are permitted, and swimmers are encouraged to move at their own pace—while the surrounding waters offer sightings of colorful Caribbean fish and the occasional sea turtle. Organizers have partnered with a local sea-turtle monitoring network to raise awareness about endangered marine life, contributing to a festive yet conservation-minded atmosphere." - Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca is an award-winning journalist and co-founder of Be a Travel Writer, an online course for the next generation of travel journalists.
