Hermitage Nevis, Nevis, St Kitts & Nevis - Explore & Book

"Full of history, character and classic style, Hermitage Nevis is known not only for its beautiful location on the slopes of Mt. Nevis, but also for its amiable and sociable hospitality. This alone makes it an ideal place for families, as well as those seeking a romantic and private destination. Here you'll find a hint of old Nevis: the Great House, built 250 years ago and said to be the oldest wooden house in the Caribbean, is filled with antiques, oriental rugs, a library, a veranda restaurant, a sun terrace and a well stocked bar. The individual guest cottages, some with distant sea views, are scattered in the gardens - a botanist's dream. Mostly planted by the owner Maureen Lupinacci you'll find cocoa, mango and breadfruit trees, spider orchids, and sandpaper flowers. For animal lovers there are horses, dogs, rabbits, pigs, ducks, geese and even the occasional monkey wandering about. A freshwater swimming pool and tennis court are also on site and in room spa treatments are available. Highs Relaxed, friendly atmosphere - the Lupinaccis are great hosts who welcome children as well as romantics Steeped in history and West Indian charm: gingerbread cottages, polished wooden floors, huge four-poster beds, verandas with hammocks... Tropical rainforest, animals, horse riding and walking trails make it ideal for nature lovers Delicious cooking and fine rum punches Lows Nearest good beach is a 15-minute drive away Not for those seeking glitz, nightlife, casinos or shopping - people come to Nevis to get away from it all, unwind and do very little amid beautiful scenery" - Anita Naik

We went for lunch and really loved it! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The gardens are beautiful with interesting bird life (take your camera!). We were the only people eating and so the staff were happy to show us around and explain the history and about the plants in the gardens. Definitely recommend! It has a lovely swimming pool too!

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hermitage Inn. We love the aesthetics of the room. However, we would have liked Air conditioning and a kitchen within the room. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was appetizing especially breakfast. The Inn is not really far from town. It is approximately 15 minutes. If anyone needs a peaceful and relaxed place, I highly recommend staying at the Hermitage Inn. I would definitely visit again ☺️🙌

Absolutely the best in its class! Set in a 200-year-old plantation on the island of Nevis, The Hermitage Inn hotel exudes charm, tradition and timeless elegance. Perfectly blending authentic history, it offers a truly unique and unforgettable escape in the Caribbean.

We recently stayed at The Hermitage for a couple of days and absolutely loved it. This is a unique place. It feels very quaint and offers an amazing sense of peace and quiet, nature, tasty food and nice staff. A place where we were able to unwind completely and rest.

A beautiful and charming establishment. The decor is shabby chic and very much upscale country plus antiques. Again everyone was wonderful. I wish we could have dined there, however our schedule wouldn’t allow that. The cottages looked cute, and they do have several sitting areas and a small pool. Would definitely stop here again, the food looked good.

Authentic tropical Caribbean setting. The individual cottages were very comfortable and well appointed and always cool due to the sea breezes. The grounds were well kept. The restaurant was very pleasant as an open air covered porch (no bugs). The food was first class with a menu that varied day to day. The best thing about this resort was the staff! They were very friendly and learned your name and needs after the first day. This is not a beach front resort so we rented a car ( which was arranged by the Hermitage staff) and it was delivered to us. We drove to many places and beaches but enjoyed the resort, poolside, on a couple of days. We stayed for a week with friends and would love to visit again!

The quintessential Caribbean experience, we loved our stay here. Our room was a cottage with balcony that had everything we needed. There’s a cool mountain breeze so it’s beautiful to sleep to the sound of the frogs and the tropical night. The service was warm and friendly, dinner and breakfast made in house and very tasty, and the rum punch alone was worth the trip to Nevis. The Hermitage is full of charm and history. We’ll be back.

We visited and then owned on the west coast of Nevis for almost 30 years. We had to sell our house a few years back and just visit again now. This year we decided to see how the other half lives at elevation on the other side of the island and stayed at Hermitage. OMG, it's a whole other Nevis and we absolutely loved it. A total resort experience for us. Go down to a delicious (and free no matter what we order!), hang out at the pool all morning, lunch and bottle of wine delivered to us at the pool, nap at the pool, then wander down to incredible dinner and then to bed. By our 2nd day, most of the staff had asked our names, introduced themselves, and gave us the first class treatment. My wife particularly loved that it was so much cooler up the mountain, the wonderful gardens and all the monkeys and other wildlife that inhabit the property. We'll definitely be back. I can't understand why anyone would prefer 4Seasons at 4 times the price.
