This bustling street-side stall is a must-visit for melt-in-your-mouth braised pork belly and gourmet buns that make the queue totally worth it.

The Ultimate Guide in Navigating Taipei's Night Markets

"As you pass through the famous Bangka Qingshan Temple, you’ll find Yi Jia Zi, the Bib Gourmand restaurant near Qingshui Temple on Kangding Road that has been serving delicious Taiwanese fare for three generations." - Hsieh Ming Ling

"The third generation owners of this family shop insist on re-creating authentic Tainan flavours. The must-try stewed pork belly shows alternate layers of fat and meat and comes with pickles and marinated dried tofu on a bed of steamed Tainan rice; or you can order a gua bao sandwich with pork. Pork blood curd soup is seasoned with shacha sauce for a rich and complex flavour; Madou rice cake is also popular but come early before they run out." - Michelin Inspector

One of the most delicious food in my Taipei trip. Tastes delicate and just balance. No wonder this place is favorites by both locals and tourists. There is quite a queue but does not take long to service. There are seats and table on street side. Please share the seats.

The most delicious 刈包 I have ever had. The bun was soft, the meat was tender and juicy, and the subtle peanut taste really enhanced the flavour of the meat. The 滷肉飯 was also really really good! The sauce was not too heavy and the pork was, again, super tender. They also provide some cucumber on the side to cut the fattiness of the pork. Overall this was an amazing meal and I can definitely see myself coming back over and over.

Great to finally experience. It was worth the wait. Long line but service is fast. Unfortunately I didn't get to eat at their tables I just had it to take away, as you might predict tables are limited. Yeah just go, don't hesitate if you see the long line it moves quickly. Ordering tip: just show the pictures what you want to order and just say how many you want. Either take a screenshot from google map reviews or just directly from the photos in google maps.

I agree with the previous reviews - food is good in this place, but the wait is excessive. Midday on a Monday we waited 50 minutes. The Bao was the best part, great texture of the bun, the pork was super tender, only thing the sauce was very sweet. The rice with braised pork was good too, I just wish there was more pork. Very good pickle cucumber.

The food is good but considering the long queues it is not some place I would rush back to have again. ***Buy a tea or water before you come here*** ***No drinks are sold here and the food is quite oily*** 控肉飯 Braised Pork Belly Rice: 7.5/10 There were two slices of pork which was a bit thin. The meat was braised enough where the fatty parts would break apart easily 刈包 Pork Bao: 7/10 The peanut powder is a bit too sweet for me 油條魚丸湯 Milkfish Ball Soup: 5/10 I didn’t like anything about the soup

Expect a queue cuz the eatery is popular with locals and tourists alike, and for good reason too. The gua bao (pork belly in a sliced bun) with its delicious and generous peanut sauce at 60NTD and luroufan (minced pork belly rice) with savoury meat and refreshing cucumber slices are must tries! The kongroufan (pork belly slice on rice) is also good but I prefer the luroufan as the latter is fattier and feels more flavourful.

Just like the other reviews, you need to line up for approximately 30-60 minutes. It’s a Michelin recommended restaurant for a reason. Although, the dining set-up is not so pleasant to look at and tables can be crowded at times, it’s still a great experience for us to share a table with strangers. ☺️ The food was indeed great! We ordered their braised pork with rice and it did not disappoint. The pork melts in your mouth and best partnered with their pickled cucumber and tofu. 👌🤤 Their Gua Bao is also goooood! For us, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Worth the trip! Visited around 230pm on a Monday and there was queue of approximately 10 groups before me. The queue moved fairly quickly and there was ample seating as the turn over was quick. Service staff friendly and helpful too! Would definitely recommend the Kou Rou Fan and Gua Bao. Kou Rou Fan was favourful and with a little spice. Gua Bao for Bao lovers, peanut dressing was not too sweet and the cilantro was a great fresh kick. Added an extra piece of Kou Rou for NTD 80, because why not. Tried to pudding too and it was unique - try only if you have extra tummy space
