081 Pizzeria Shoreditch - Review - Shoreditch - London - The Infatuation

"081 Pizzeria Shoreditch slings pies—just like their sister spot in Peckham—but they also serve Neapolitan street food, like arancini and bomba di maradona (fried pastry filled with Italian sausage), as well as pies. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Sinéad Cranna

Wow! Friendly staff, trendy and fitting decor. Extremely attentive service, and a plethora of delicious dishes to choose from. My family and I opted for two pizzas and the arancini. The arancini were different to ones I have previously tried, but were absolutely delicious. The tomato sauce was extremely flavourful! I tried one of the cocktails, it was a take on the classic espresso martini, with a mascarpone foam that made the cocktail taste like a tiramisu. One note of improvement is that the top of it is sprinkled with ground coffee, which isn’t the most pleasant texture. The pizzas were incredible. A proper Neapolitan style pizza with fluffy dough that gets a char on the bottom and is well seasoned! The Margarita was delicious and allowed for all ingredients to shine. The Pistachiosa was on another level. The mixture of textures and the mortadella were pure heaven! Certainly recommend this place if you are in the area and in the mood for some delicious pizza! It is a top 50 spot in Europe for a reason!

I’m not someone who eats pizza very often in fact, it’s not usually my go-to food. But whenever I do crave pizza, this is the place I come to. I’ve been here many times, and every single visit has been consistently fantastic. The food is simply outstanding—full of flavor, always fresh, and cooked to perfection. The starters are a great way to kick off the meal (see my attached photo), and the mains never disappoint. Whether it’s the pizza itself or other dishes on the menu, everything I’ve tried has been delicious and clearly made with care. What keeps me coming back is not just the taste but also the overall quality. It’s rare for me to say this about pizza, but this place has truly won me over. Highly recommended!

In London for work and I just happened to walk part the restaurant while out looking for dinner and I have never been so happy I tried something new. I had the fried and baked 081 pizza at the recommendation of the lovely waitress and was so happy! I didn’t even know such a thing existed and she said it is unique to their restaurant. It’s not greasy at all, just this lovely crunch and soft dough. Only a small selection of the pizzas have the fried dough, the rest is traditionally baked. The tomato sauce was also incredible, Smokey, tangy and perfect. The staff was super attentive and friendly. I’m going to convince my colleagues to come with me tonight!

The Montanara classical bun was delicious. Lobster croquettes from the tapas menu held their own too: crisp, creamy, and indulgent. Cocktails were a standout. I had the Zabba Espresso and the L’Artigiano—both solid, but the espresso martini stole the show with its creative twist. Pizzas landed well across the table. The Parmigiana (aubergine) was a hit, and the Black truffle and honey, was masterfully balanced—with mozzarella, gorgonzola, truffle, honey and hazelnut crumble completing and not overpowering each other. Service was uneven. Long stretches of waiting and flagging down staff who seemed stretched thin between dine-in and takeaway orders and a lack of being kept appraised of the delay in us receiving our food. But when present, the team brought warmth and passion—especially the Limoncello toast to close the evening, which added a lovely finish.

Amazing place! As a former assistant manager and now a small business owner, I can truly say this venue has incredible potential. The atmosphere is 5-star warm, lively, and authentic. Chef Mimmo delivers excellent dishes full of flavour, and Manager Domenico runs the place with passion and perfect coordination. Beautiful vibes and great service all around. Highly recommended! I didn't take a picture of the food, I was very hungry... but I repeat, 100% top

What can I say… every time I go to 081, it feels like home. It’s not just about the pizza — which is absolutely delicious, made with super fresh ingredients — but the whole atmosphere. The moment I walk in, I feel like I’ve been transported straight to Italy. 🇮🇹The service is fantastic, and the staff are always warm and welcoming, especially Angelo and Domenico, who create such a genuine connection with the customers. One of the things I love most is that even when my favourite pizza isn’t on the menu, they still make it for me. That kind of care and attention really makes you feel special — like you’re part of the family.081 isn’t just a pizzeria, it’s a place that warms your heart.

Wonderful experience at 081 pizzeria. Loved both starters as pizzas (081, Napoli RMX and Fried+Oven 081). Staff is nice and helpful. Will come back!

Hands down one of the best pizzas in London! 081 Pizzeria in Shoreditch is absolutely fantastic — proper Neapolitan pizza with that perfect crust, fresh ingredients, and bold flavours. The vibe is cool and relaxed, and you can tell they care about what they do. 🍕 From the first bite to the last, everything was spot on. If you’re looking for real Italian pizza in East London, this is the place. Can’t wait to go back! 🇮🇹
