"Every time chef Chris Bork, bartender Caitlin Franz, and wine consultant Joe Mooney found themselves working together, they noticed they organically synced up immediately. That easy collaborative spirit infuses their monthly thematic dining series, Place and Time, which has garnered so much praise. Each dinner draws inspiration from a particular moment in gastronomic history — from 19th-century New Orleans to Anthony Bourdain’s 2014 Parts Unknown episode on northern Thailand — which the kitchen evokes through beautifully executed food, original cocktails, and creative wine pairings." - Holly Fann

I had a blast at 1 Nite Stand last weekend. The staff was friendly and attentive, especially Roger and Katherine, who made me feel very welcome and entertained. They were always cracking jokes, giving compliments, and joining in the karaoke. The drinks were reasonably priced and delicious, and the karaoke was so much fun. They have a huge selection of songs, from oldies to current hits, and the sound system is great. The crowd was lively and supportive, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. The bar also has pool tables, a dart board, and a dance pole for some extra entertainment. The place is cozy and quirky, with a lot of character and charm. If you're looking for a fun night out with friends, 1 Nite Stand is the place to go. I can't wait to go back and sing my heart out again.

Just walked in, trying out bars in the area. Lady introduced us at the door, we walked in saying we were good on a drink, just looking around. We wanted to sit, chill and then drink/eat. She followed us to the pool table, stood directly next to me (less than a foot) and as I was reading the sign that said you have to buy something to play pool, I noticed she was so close so we decided to leave. She locked the door behind us apparently when we came in, so she rushed around us to unlock it, then slammed it behind us and locked it again. If you didn’t want us in there or if there was a policy you can speak up and say that. Didn’t ask for our IDs and I’m glad she didn’t get that info. Weird weird weird weird. There were 5 old men in it max. Upon reading other reviews, it’s important to mention my partner is Black. Why did she LOCK us in the bar at 1030 when they close at 1 AM? She followed us through the bar like a WEIRDO.

One of the best bars around Katherine and Robert were both amazing owners and people in general and can’t wait to visit again

Absolutely FUNNN! We loved it. If you're a normal person, you'll have fun, too. It's the staff! They made all the difference. We left the most popular karaoke hangout to come to this GEM. What a find! PS... it's kinda hard to find but yes... it's that door. This will be a stop Every time we're in Saint Louis.

Yelp
Kathy (Bartender/Co-Owner): To all my friends, that frequent us, I miss you. Ya'll need to come and see us soon! Seriously, come to One Nite Stand. Good company, and good times!

Yelp
I've read all of the negative reviews on here about this place and I just have to say I totally disagree! I've been coming here for over 10 years. Once you get past the somewhat unpredictable and often blunt manner of the bartender/co-owner Catherine, and the wary-eye of Roger, her husband, to newcomers, you realize that both of them have hearts of gold, and it quickly will become one of your favorite watering holes in town. AWESOME venue... if you don't judge a 'book' by its immediate 'cover'.

Yelp
This is hands down the worst encounter I've had at any restaurant or bar.. ever. Which is actually impressive..? The female bartender in her 60's at least was not only rude but unnecessarily insulting. We came in and there was only one other person in the whole bar so we asked her if they were open or closing soon and in response, gave us a blank stare and told us we were letting the cold in.. I sat down and ordered a glass of wine, she asked for payment and when I pulled my card out she said they only accepted cash since covid... (opposite, places stopped accepting cash for that reason but ok?). I didn't have cash and didn't touch the drink and was digging for my debit card to withdraw from the ATM. This lady has the audacity to go stand by the ATM with her hand stretched out, demanding my card and literally said, "Come here. Card." She made me so uncomfortable that I paid for the drink without touching it and left. Y'all, the real kicker is the owner of the establishment sat and watched the whole thing and said nothing... something shady is happening here. DO NOT GO!

Yelp
Horrible bartender. Was groped multiple times by the bartender. Had to leave to be left alone. Only thing good in there was the karaoke machine.

Yelp
Well, what can I say? I'm actually a fan of dive bars, but some are just plain bad. I had decided years ago not to enter One Nite Stand because of the Southern Cross Confederate battle flag that used to don the front entrance. They did remove it a few years back, but I still avoided it until recently when my friend added it as a stop on his "Bad Bar Bus Tour, " and appropriately so. This place was just as I had expected. The servers were worn looking, some without teeth and yelling at each other behind the bar. The clients were rough and without 50 of my closest friends along, I would have felt extremely intimidated. This place is bad news. Period!

Yelp
When someone describes a bar as "typical south-city," I keep my eyes and ears wide open. I look for a neighborhood feel, diamond-in-the-rough service, and tasty beverages. This place is not "typical south-city." It's actually "typical super-dive-on-its-last-legs." The servers are all about the DB's/Johnny's stripper attire, but have nothing to back it up. I'm might sound like I'm being sexist or misogynistic, but a line's been crossed when you end up staring at someone trying too hard, wearing a whale-tail under her MINI-mini skirt, in stringy pig tails... on top of varicose veins and tons of stretch marks. Not one... but at least two servers were unsuccessfully rocking the alley-cat look. I don't care what anyone says: "classy" does exist (plentifully) in South City! Just not here. It's definitely not appetizing when she sneezes over the "pizza" (I think it's supermarket special pizza) and still hands it over to you. My mixed drinks were the telltale watery consistency of being almost forgotten. There's little smoky bars with ambiance... and there's smoky corner joints that stink of ancient nicotine, desperation, and spilled beer.

Yelp
It was recently my twin brother "Fernando"'s birthday, and as a mature man with a musky scent, it was decided we (he, some friends from our swingers group, and I) would take him to the "One Nite Stand Dance Club". My brother "Fernando" seemed to be sweet on the bartender "Tammy"; who wouldn't fall for those big, methadone-addled eyes and sun-bleached blonde hair? The way she teased him with that smoker's growl really made his track suit tighten! She poured his martinis with the grace of a wounded swan. We (my brother "Fernando" and our friends "Dennis", "Gary", and "Rogelio") were told we must attend on a Friday night to participate in the popular Japanese entertainment "Karaoke". The disc jockey of the evening was a fellow of much social grace; he insisting on starting the evening by regaling us with his version of the beloved tune "Strokin'" to which my group of comrades sang along. The disc jockey really set the mood for our nocturnal activities, as there was much gaiety to ensue. A lovely woman wowed us with her rendition of a song I was previously unaware of, called "I'm Going Down" by popular singer "Mary J. Blight." Call Hernando a liar if I said I wasn't at first startled, then aroused by the chorus, even if it was a case of misunderstanding. The fellas insisted I give my best rendition of one of my favorite "Michael McDonald" tunes, but when I got on stage I instead performed a song off my album "Sensual Guitar" to an enchanted crowd. I must say, it takes a lot to make me forget that I am married (to my lovely wife "Biff"!) but the provocative and generous waitresses and the exciting crowd at this quaint neighborhood "joint" made me willing and open-minded to find a "One Nite Stand" I could call my own! Yelp
I should have known when we were frisked upon entering not to expect anything. I should have known when we we charged $10 for two rail bourbons not to expect anything. I should have known when the bouncer assumed his position within 5 feet of our table....... One drink and done. Upon departure, we were given the "Thanks for leaving" by the bartender. This place gives the term "dive bar" a bad name. You can go 100 yards in any direction and find a nicer bar. I suggest you do it.

Yelp
Came to one nite stand for my third outing, and what I've decided will be my last. The place has always been lets say, rough, but has made up for it with fair prices, friendly staff, and weekend karaoke. My last visit was lacking the latter two sorely. The sad part is I brought relatives from out of town. I hope they didn't let this place color their opinion of stl. Anyway, after a certain hour, the regular crowd becomes noticeably less classy. I am talking about trash of all stripes and colors. Me and my guests only got to sing one song while we were there, and I guess because we didn't toe the line of R&B songs, and instead opted to sing country, and alternative songs, we were not called up again that night, while the regulars made several appearances(we did tip the dj btw). Sad, but what took the cake for me, was a blond female bartender, her name was Sharon I think, cut in front of me to use the MENS ROOM, because the line at the women's was too long for her I guess. Admittedly, and I think understandably, I was outraged, and made clear to a bouncer how unprofessional, not to mention illegal her actions were. He just told me to calm down, in manner that suggested I could be thrown out. When I did get to go to the bathroom, I was treated to a tirade of insults directed at me from outside. I can only assume it was the same bartender who shut down the bathroom. That was the last straw for me. I didn't want to give another dime of my business to such trashy and unprofessional people, and I would encourage all who read this to do the same. I am a pretty forgiving person, you can see that from my first review of this place, but I go out to bars to have a good time, not to be marginalized, and insulted by the staff.

Yelp
I have NEVER had such HORRIBLE service in my life at a place!! A large group of us went and we first got there asked the bartender if they had sweet tea vodka, she made this horrified gagging sound and said no way!! So we made our choice of drink that night beer...keep it simple right? We were enjoying the band that was there and beer was going down good so proceeded to ask for rounds of shots, KISS... and asked for tequila shots, could we please have them chilled? She looked at us like she had no idea what ice even was and said NO!! When we went to leave and asked for our tab and my drivers license back, she said I could not have my DL back until I signed my tab! Let's just say I have NEVER EVER walked out without tipping an absolute zero...but I did that night!! However she decided to correct that for me and helped herself to an extra $10.00 on my card!!!! And the crazy thing is 3 of us in our group had extra added onto our bill, without adding it ourselves!! THIEVES!! NEVER GO THERE..... AND if I could give negative stars I WOULD!!!!!

Yelp
Came here for karaoke and had a blast. I've never seen such a huge song selection. Was very surprised by all of the obscure tunes in the mix. The crowd was perfectly diverse, which included some sensational and sensationally bad performances. I actually was surprised that the brick interior of this place (in the 2nd tier area) was quite nice looking. Looking forward to going back to this fun dive.
