"Justin Anthony opened this South African restaurant over 25 years ago. Now, Anthony’s restaurant roster includes Biltong Bar at Ponce City Market and Yebo Beach Haus in Buckhead, which also lean into South African fare and flavors. But it’s at 10 Degrees South in Buckhead where Mediterranean, Malaysian, Portuguese, French, German, Dutch, and Indian flavors meld to create a South African menu that features peri-peri chicken spring rolls, a range of braai (South African grilled meats), and specialty dishes like ostrich medallions with a red wine and rosemary reduction." - Carolyn Desalu

This was our second time dinning here and our second experience was just as good as our first. This time we were celebrating my wife birthday. The staff was friendly and our waitress was great. The food was well seasoned and the portions were generous. Great experience.

We went to 10 degrees because we have seen it’s name in many lists. The service was alright, not good nor bad. The atmosphere was the best part of the restaurant. We were extremely disappointed in the food especially for the price point. The rice lacked any kind of flavor. And the chicken dishes we had were salty. Wine recommendation was great.

There are so many great things to say about this place. The atmosphere and service are all top-notch. 10 stars to our waitress she was very attentive and went above and out of her way to make sure we were taken care of, which was greatly appreciated. I had the lamb chops which was okay. They were much too fatty and small. I've had better. But overall loved this place and would still go back.

The ambience is groovy * beautiful African Chic! It should be for the upscale prices charged... The hostess & waiter Sean were super nice & helpful. The food was just OK however, because there was only ONE VEGAN entree, a curry veg over rice dish & NO VEGAN desserts. There is also one vegan salad & vegan sides. We got 2 sides ~ white grits (I usually eat yellow organic!) & mushrooms. In these days restaurants should have a few VEGAN options cause even meat eaters want healthier choices!! Also, wondering if their food is organic? I forgot to ask! ☺

I have to rave about this place!!! A friend and I devoured as much as we could. We had 2 different kind of spring rolls (chicken and beef) and garlic bread. There was nothing left. We had drinks and they were perfect as well (we ended up having 2 rounds) and then came out our meals. She got lamb chops, that were hands down the most seasoned, perfectly cooked lamb chops both of has have had here in Atlanta and I got the cape Malay bobotie. It is similar to a Shepard's pie. I tried so hard to finish but I was so full lol. I can't wait to tell more people about it and go back for more!!

Google
Can’t recommend this place enough. Their Durban curry was incredible! Haley was our server and she was so wonderful! She was very knowledgeable and happy to answer all of our questions about the cuisine, we were very happy to have her as our server. I will say we had a bit of trouble finding the place as it’s a little hidden. Definitely check this place out.

Google
The interior is unique, with low lighting. The cocktails were great. We had the Lychee Martini and the Margarita. ( ask for salt). Bottle of South African SV Blanc was fabulous The chicken egg roll not bad. The Mussells were delicious. The main entree, the filet and filet kabob, was done nicely. Our dessert course, the sponge cake, and the lava cake was not bad. The cappuccinos were proper. Everyone was wonderful.

Google
Great experience!!! From the outside it looks like an office building, but the interior is contemporary and just a great vibe. The food was excellent. First time eating ostrich meat!!! Jaime our server was great!!! Prices were reasonable for a top restaurant. I'd recommend this restaurant for quality of food and service!!! No military discount!!!

Yelp
10/10 loved this place! Me and my girl friend came to enjoy dinner. She recommended the place because she went a while ago. I'm sad I didn't get any pictures of the place, it was so nice! I started off at the bar to wait for her and the bartender was very friendly. I ordered a lychee martini which was really good! The lychee was so sweet and flavorful... my fav part. Next we sat in the outdoor seating area and we had the sweetest waitress. We ordered the peri peri chicken spring rolls for our appetizer which were bomb! So much flavor and on the spicier side, but I loved it! For dinner my friend had the chicken live and a salad. She loved her meal! I am not a fan of liver, but I did try it and it was definitely cooked well, but liver is just a no for me lol. I ordered lamb chops which were phenomenal! Cooked just how I wanted ( medium rare) and the mashed potatoes it came with were to die for. I also got a chance to speak to the manager herself a few times and she was so sweet the whole experience! Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Stopped in on a Friday night for a quick drink at the bar. This was my first time visiting so I had no expectations. Parking was free valet...you just had to tip the valet driver. The restaurant was not busy at the time we went. I decided to sit at the bar as I didn't plan on staying long. The bartender was super nice and accommodating. He suggested the calamari since it was grilled and one of the best items in the menu. I order a cocktail and the calamari dish based on his recommendation and when I tell you he wasn't lying...he wasn't lying. The calamari came on a bed of yellow rice. The rice was so seasoned omg. I couldn't stopped eating it. The calamari was delicious as well but to me, the star was the rice. My cousin had it he chicken spring rolls and said they were delicious as well. The drinks were also good. Everyone was nice and I would definitely return.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of visiting 10 degrees South for my friend's bachelorette dinner. She had an African themed wedding so the food & decor for 10 degrees south fit right in. The ambiance was nice. There was pictures and statues of animals found in African throughout the restaurant. It was very dim/dark in the restaurant so our lighting for pictures wasn't the best. Our server Wes was very polite. He had a large group but he moved with accuracy and quickness. We played some naughty bachelorette games and thankfully Wes was a good sport and shared a few chuckles. There was another server however who asked us to quiet down (even though there weren't any seated tables around us) On to the food! Most of my table ordered chicken or shrimp Durban curry. They all said it was delicious and pretty much cleaned their plates. I ordered two appetizers for my meal (lobster rolls & mussels). The lobster rolls were amazing and full of flavor. The mussels were pretty small inside the shell and although it had a good flavor the lemonish after taste really threw me off. The brides mom loved them however and finished the remainder of the mussels. There aren't too many places with an African inspired menu. I would definitely go back and I would recommend to anyone who is looking to try something new. Get ready to give your tastebuds a whole new world of delicious flavors.

Yelp
Like you, I have read alot of downright terrible reviews about this place. Like you, I wanted a good South African meal. So, I just went and I am SO GLAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will personally sign my name and testify that this restaurant is one of Atlanta's best AND proudly (authentically) South African Let's start with drinks - lots of selection from diff provinces within SA. Appletiser and Grapetiser! I was sold hahaha. The braai bread was like an amazing italian garlic bread, but the mussels?!!!!!! Praise Baby Jesus in the manger for these mussels. The sauce was like being transported back to Kalk Bay. If I could put my entire head into the bowl, I would have. The biltong was pretty well prepared as well! Better than biltong bar actually. Now, the mains.... Moment of silence for the shrimp and chicken that died to bring us such amazing dinners. The curry shrimp was EVERYTHING! i could taste every single spice, the corriander, the cumin, the curries, the all spice, bay leaf....yummmmmm! I loved that it was served with 2 kinds of rice. I never had banana in curry but it was a nice touch. Peri Peri chicken tasted like it took a flight directly from SA. No way was it prepared on Roswell Rd. Confession, after more than one visit to SA - I never tried Malva pudding. I think God wanted me to be blessed by Di's delight...delicious! really sweet, spongey cake. Ice cream was nice touch. I can tell this was baked with love. Our waitress Vukosi was SUPERB!!! So friendly, so attentive and helpful with making choices. Anytime I return (because I will), I want her! In summary, maybe 10 Degrees south had a slump post-covid, but it is over now! It is an amazing place and I highly recommend! Ayouv with Valet was awesome! Ambiance and decor is also great, but I don't give stars for what I can't eat lol.

Yelp
My family has been coming to 10 Degrees South for years for special occasions and it has always been a fantastic experience. When you arrive, there's valet parking. Also, definitely make reservations. On our most recent visit, we ordered drinks (we recommend trying their South African wines, so good!) and a few appetizers including calamari, peri-peri chicken rolls, chicken livers (my favorite!) and mussels. Everything was absolutely delicious. For entrees, our table ordered Durban curry, Cape Malay Bobotie and Lamb Chops. The lamb was so delicate and fell apart really easily, cooked very well! The bobotie was my dish and it is so flavorful and sweet! It's a large portion so I always have leftovers. Overall, 10 Degrees South is a great experience, the service is always so accomodating and great, definitely recommend and will be returning!

Dixine H.

Yelp
Came here because I been wanting to try the food here for years! The inside is very dim like date night dim, quiet atmosphere so please do not do a wild girls night out here or a birthday dinner or you'll be disappointed with the people shushing you to be quiet (lol) The food was good, we tried the ostrich and it was good surprisingly! I want to come back to try more menu items and the infamous dessert!

Crystal M.

Yelp
So sad this place is closing. We were there on their last night and got the best food and top tier service. They said they have a sister restaurant in Alpharetta called Cape and Yebo in buckhead.

Monique P.

Yelp
My first time going to this restaurant for Valentine's Day with my love! Located in Buckhead small but cute! Great for a nice date night dinner and drinks. Valet Parking is free. Ludacris was in the building with his wife, that was shocking. Lol. I ordered the Ostrich Medallions, Mash Potatoes and veggies, which was tender and flavorful, first time trying Ostrich, I appreciate the red wine and fresh herbs it was cooked with. My bay tried the skewers which was smothered in curry sauce, with rice and veggies. If you like curry this the dish for you! The service and server was amazing and extremely attentive. Sorry I don't remember his name! However, I would return if I'm ever in the area.

Yelp
10 degrees south was a great place to come for a birthday dinner! The interior is beautiful, the service was amazing, and the food was really good for my first time trying South African. We started with the peri peri chicken spring rolls to share. The peri peri sauce was amazing and I loved the seasoning for the chicken. I then had the sosatie kabobs which was good but very interesting taste wise. I loved the tenderness of the meat and the apricots added tartness to the white rice. It's not a combination I've ever tried before, but it worked! The basmati rice on the other hand was nothing special. I think I would have been happier if the rice was subbed for vegetables or something else. For their complimentary birthday treat, I had the flan which I thought was pretty tasty too. Overall, I thought the pricing was fair, the food was good, and I'd definitely like to come back and sit at the super cool lounge area.

Amanda D.

Yelp
This joint is sensual and moody. Perfect for a drink after beating the ATL traffic after landing at the airport. A bit of zigzagging getting to the venue though. I have always been a fan for ZA food, wine and culture.

Summer J.

Yelp
I expected to have a phenomenal experience from all of the great things I've heard about this restaurant. The service is really the main reason I can't give a higher rating. We waited nearly an hour to be served Water and had to ask for that. If I go back it would be for the filet mignon alone. That dish was soooooo delicious. But our server was just too rude and inattentive

Erica S.

Yelp
Keaunu was simple amazing! His service was great. Unfortunately I ate something earlier in the day that messed up my stomach so I was not able to truly enjoy the food like I wanted to but the Peri Peri chicken was wonderfully cooked damn near fell off the bone and the mussel had a great taste. I will be back to try the prawns and many other items. Thank you for making our 9th wedding anniversary amazing!

Mckenzie P.

Yelp
Ambience was everything! I could tell the interior decorator took their time when planning for the restaurant. Beautiful! I tried the beef bobotie per my waitress recommendation and it did not miss. I wasn't a fan of having two styled rice, but tasty nonetheless. They play live music in the bar area. Very cute. We also tried the bottle of Prosecco for $36, pretty good deal.

Anna C.

Yelp
It pains me to write a 3 star review if this place. It's been my favorite restaurant in Atlanta for years, and the 3 stars is all because of the service. The food is ALWAYS fantastic. FOOD: the food was superior. All hot and fresh from the kitchen, and the most amazing flavor for all parts of the meal. SERVICE: Sllloooooowwww. We were one of only 4 tables of patrons in the whole restaurant, and our server was fairly inattentive. I understand there is a staffing shortage, but our drink orders were incorrect, and a vodka soda shouldn't take 20+ minutes to make. The owners were also there eating at the bar - I know this is just my opinion, but if I own the place and it's fairly dead, I'd go out of my way to say hi and great the patrons there. And I'd also have my staff put a little more effort into that night's service.

Rene B.

Yelp
Good place! Outside is deceiving, looks like an office building. But inside takes you back to South Africa! Lots of vibe! The food is good. The lychee drink was amazing. The rolls are good the spicy chicken one was my favorite. The calamari with rice is filling. The fish was a bit dry. Dessert is amazing!

Vanity H.

Yelp
Great food and the atmosphere was great! Food has lots of flavor and the lobster rolls where amazing!

David G.

Yelp
Ugh. I hate doing this kind of review. The restaurant is beautiful. The service was great, and the staff knowledge. The food was so bland. We left shocked at how boring the dishes were. The spring rolls were the only decent thing we received. I had the prawns and there was no seasoning whatsoever ornthe prawns - grill marks do not equal flavor. The prawns were served over white and yellow, supposedly saffron I guess, rice. There was a little bit of a sauce, which was good, but not enough to make the dish in anyway interesting. The piri-piri Cornish hen was much the same. The sauce was good, but basically spicy Zaxbys sauce. The hen itself was not seasoned at all and served with plain rice and boring veggies. I'm sorry guys, you fell way short the night I visited. I won't risk returning. For $100, there are far better places to eat.

Keia L.

Yelp
Very good flavors in this food.I'm not the biggest fan of South African cuisine. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The service was great and well paired with the ambiance

Macoisinha M.

Yelp
Having great food doesn't grant a restaurant 5 stars or success. I believe service is equally important. This weekend I experienced a great example of that at the 10 Degrees South. The food was great and the service was amazing, and while I had a small issue with my dish, the way it was handled by their team was spectacular and that was able to make the whole experience great. It's all about adversity and they nailed it. Some additional notes! Must have the cucumber, tomato abs feta salad and the mushrooms! This place has been in Atlanta for ever but this was my first time there. The restaurant building is quite interesting. It doesn't look like a typical restaurant from the outside, but the inside is nicely decorated and very spacious. Unfortunately they don't have self parking, only valet, which I'm not a big fan, but I guess that doesn't bother most people.

Dawn B.

Yelp
Went on a Friday night with no expectations and wound up really enjoying it. The waitress took the time to answer every question my table had and even some we didn't think to raise. I ordered the ostrich on a whim and to try something different and she explained the degree to which it was cooked and why and how it would taste so that I would know what I was getting into -- it was so good! All of our table's food was beautifully plated and smelled delicious. I also got the Di's Delight for dessert and yes ma'am...Highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.

Maria Y.

Yelp
The food was delicious, the service was great and Keanu took such good care of us. I would highly recommend.

Marvin B.

Yelp
I recently had the opportunity to have dinner at the restaurant the service was excellent and the food was beyond delicious the drinks were ok and the ambiance is great.

Helena E.

Yelp
We tried this restaurant out for the first time earlier this week. We had reservations and the restaurant was pretty quiet on a Monday evening. There were patrons scattered in different sections of the restaurant. We were very surprised by the size of the place. From the outside, you can tell it must have previously been used as an office building, but the owners have completely changed that around. Not only is it a nice, cozy, dimly lit restaurant, but it's also massive and includes a covered "outdoor" seating area that is very reminiscent of a house in the village with the ceiling fans, low lighting, wooden fixtures, and the comfort of what felt like someone's living room. The ambiance is very good for a date night, family gathering, or an evening of getting your best mates together to enjoy dinner. The menu is interesting and has a lot of amazing dishes. While we only got one appetizer on Monday, the appetizers almost sounded like small meals and are definitely shareable ranging anywhere from boerewors and sosaties to mussels and sliced rump steak. We ended up getting the lobster spring rolls which are delicious, just like all the reviews say. The peri-peri aioli goes well with the rolls. For the main courses, I ordered the cape kingklip which was good but I don't know if I would order again. The fish was good and it was prepared well, but there was nothing "special" about it. It was a milder fish, so therein lies my issue. The mister ordered the catch of the day and his fish came on a bed of Spanish rice with a mango salsa finish and a side of mixed vegetables. His was better. But I digress, the food was quality and cooked very well. For drinks, I ordered the Cape of Storms - it was okay. They have a good wine selection. The mister ordered a glass of the Neil Ellis "Amica," which happened to be a very refreshing and light wine. I would be interested in trying their Ken Forrester next time. Our server Sean was great. He was also very persuasive. Everything sounded so good when he explained the menu. Overall, he was very informative, hospitable, attentive, and knew his stuff! I'll probably ask for him next time. I would be interested in going back and trying the different menu items.

Rich V.

Yelp
They got the ostrich back and have more small plates. Corkage is $35! One of the highest in ATL but the wine list is a thin plastic side of the menu with a $400 mark up on one wine and ~200% elsewhere. Too bad because much of this food demands a good rose or white, and their selections are just horrible and over priced. I would go into the menu, which was decent, but I'm not going to bother because I won't be back due to the corkage. Based upon the traffic tonight, the restaurant isn't doing well.

Tiffani W.

Yelp
We went here to celebrate my guy's friend's birthday. The location is easy to pass, kind of a plain looking gray building. We pulled in and its valet only so have some cash to tip! The restaurant inside is pretty fancy, we sat in the bar area. Mia was our bartender but she was NEVER MIA! She was thorough, attentive and helpful. She suggested a wine that I loved. She mixed some good dang cocktails too! We had calamari and lobster spring rolls. Both were delicious and full of flavor. Mia suggested we do a platter that had 4 different meats and then we also got ostrich and it was plenty for us to share. EVERYTHING was so flavorful and seasoned just right. The meat was super render. Believe it or mot I enjoyed the ostrich the best! It tasted like a tender steak! Mis talked us into dessert, we had chocolate lava cake, key lime white chocolate cheesecake and flan. This is a great place for dare night, birthdays and other special occasions or anytime you want some good food! We all enjoyed it immensely, and will definitely be back

Isabel O.

Yelp
I'd come back! Love the vibe and ambiance. We had the lobster egg rolls, steak, mussels and chocolate lava dessert for two girls.

Samavi A.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with friends. Was excited to try South African cuisine. The lobster spring rolls were great and enhanced with the peri peri sauce. I got the chicken bobotie which was very interesting. It was ground chicken mixed with several flavors. It was a bit sweet but it worked with the rice and sauces. My friend got the ostrich medallions which she really enjoyed. The best past was the dessert which we all finished within the time it was brought out.

Lacey G.

Yelp
Great ambiance, vibe, and service! My friend and I were so excited to try South African cuisine. We split the Peri-Peri Lobster Rolls, Mussels, Ostrich, and Prawns. Both the prawns and ostrich were tough and chewy. However, our server did warn us about the texture of the ostrich but not the prawns so I don't know if they were overcooked maybe? Overall, great meal and I would definitely go back to try something else.

Angela A.

Yelp
What a surprise walking through front door. Don't be misled by exterior because inside is very cool. Server was helpful and food was tasty. I've been to South Africa before and my only wish is that they used more spice to taste more authentic. I think they use less to appeal to "American" tastes. The rear of the Resteraunt has small bar area and had a musician playing. Also an outside patio hidden in back. I'd def recommend and will be back.

Melissa I.

Yelp
Came her for Valentine's Day weekend with a late reservation. The hostess seemed new or maybe just not that good at hosting tbh. She wasn't very friendly at check in, we arrived 15 mins early, the restaurant didn't seem too busy as we were the only ones coming in at that time and the dining area was filled but not full. She just said "why don't you go to the bar and get a drink while you wait" but didn't give us instructions of how she will come get us to sit us, etc. We went and got a drink. The bar is really nice with live acoustic music and the bartender makes well crafted drinks. We went back to the hostess station after 15 mins and she already forgot our name. Luckily I'm leaving this review based on the food as I would give her 2 stars. We ordered the calamari and mushrooms to start. Both really flavorful and uniquely prepared. The lemon sauces cooked with these dishes made them very refreshing and delicious. For our main entree, we ordered the meat platter as it came with their assortment of meats, basmati rice and veggies. Everything tasted good but nothing stood out except for the rack of lamb. The filet was supposed to be medium rare but came out medium. Still tasted good but not the right temperature. We mentioned this to the waitress as feedback. For desert, we ordered the apricot sponge cake and espresso cappuccino. This is the absolute best tasting dessert we have had in a long time. Served warm with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. After eating it, the waitress said that it's the only homemade traditional desert on the menu. Again, the service was just okay. The waitress was pleasant but nothing stood out. We told her it was our first time dining. She didn't offer any suggestions or described any of the dishes or showcase some of the in-house made dishes or deserts, etc. Hostess: 2 stars Service: 3 stars Food: 4 stars Drinks: 4&1/2 stars Valet: 5 stars

Jacob L.

Yelp
The wine list is great and the service is always top notch. I love the biltong and kingclip fish. I recommend. Check them out.

Chantelle U.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere! If you looking to try authentic South African food and wine this is the place

Yelp
I've had 10 Degrees South saved as a restaurant to try for well over a year now. I decided to finally try them out on father's day weekend, no regrets!! The restaurant was phenomenal. The upscale decor and soft ambiance greet you as soon as you walk in the door. I had to make reservations in advance for this particular night so we walked in and were seated immediately. Our server greeted us a few short moments later and briefly explained the menu. My husband and I are planning a getaway to Cape Town and Johannesburg soon so we were excited to get an early taste of South African cuisine! We started off with a couple of appetizers, the bobotie spring rolls ($12), cucumber tomato salad ($12), and biltong carpaccio caesar salad ($14). All were phenomenal! For our entrees we decided on the Cape kingklip ($30), Peri Peri chicken ($28), and a side of garlic mashed potatoes ($5). Everything was cooked just right and seasoned to perfection. Even though we ordered a good amount of food there was nothing left on our plates in the end. Unfortunately though this left us no room for dessert. We also didn't get a chance to enjoy a glass of wine due to me being pregnant at the time but they have an extensive wine selection with some of the best sparkling, red, and white wines that California and South Africa have to offer. Being that it was the weekend, the restaurant started to fill up as the night progressed but there was still room to socially distance and employees wore masks for protection. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience and will definitely be back in the near future.

Varsha B.

Yelp
10 degrees south has immense space and great decor. There are a lot of cosy spaces that are amazing for date nights . I love their bar area and they make some mean old fashioneds! They have very few plant based options even with salads. But their Durban curry with vegetables is really great. Our server was extremely accommodating and made our dish really upon our request. I know tofu is probably not typically South African but would have been a nice protein add on option with the curry.

Liam N.

Yelp
Again in this magnificent restaurant. What I love about this restaurant: 1.- You read the menu and you don't know what to order--everything is delicious, 2.- The menu has so many options to choose from, 3.- The food is flavorful with a nice hot twist, 4.- The ambience, decor and different spaces of this place are charming and inviting, 5.- They have a very good service. Today my hon had the South African fish and I had the Chichen Bobotie with veggies, both of them simply divine. We shared the lobster roll as our appetizer. Thanks to my love for another great night together in this chic restaurant. I'm the luckiest woman ever!!!

Alex h.

Yelp
This was the first time I tried South African cuisine and it was impressive. My girlfriend and I went for Valentines Dinner where we were given a special menu with 4 appetizer options, 4 entree options, and 2 types of dessert. Appetizer: Calamari - it was a bit too tart, but nonetheless very tasty. The calamari was cooked to the perfect tenderness Sosaties - the marinated beef was paired nicely with the apricot sauce on a bed of rice. We loved it so much we wanted it as an entree! Entree: Chicken Curry - it was a unique twist to the normal Indian or other Asian curries I had tried. The plantains were surprisingly very good in the curry, but mostly the chicken in it was so juicy and tender Filet "ah poivre" - WOW the filet was cooked to perfection. Super tender, juicy and just overwhelming in taste. Would definitely order again. Dessert: Molten chocolate lava cake - probably one of the best molten cakes I have ever had. The richness of the chocolate will stay in your mouth forever. I only wish there was a bit more vanilla ice cream to balance the thickness of the chocolate. Overall the food was very impressive and delicious. However, we felt that the tables were too close to each other creating a slightly discomforting dining experience because we were so close to our neighbors and well within hearing distance of each other. Moreover, the space was so tight our servers had to keep squeezing in and out. We will definitely be coming back to try the full menu!

Helena M.

Yelp
Was very pleased with my experience here. The outside is very modern and the inside is beyond beautiful. They really put a lot of thought into the art that was chosen and the vibe they wanted to have. The servers were extremely friendly and gave great recommendations. Came for Valentine's Day so there was a set menu with options but everything I had (including my drink) was absolutely amazing! We brought our toddler and they were able to accommodate us by allowing us to buy mash potatoes as a side. The waitress even brought it out early when our daughter became irritated with the wait (of course the wait wasn't long for us). I would definitely like to come back and try other things on their menu!

DeRoyce R.

Yelp
This place is easy to miss from the street. It almost doesn't even look like a restaurant from the outside. As you pull you there is a valet service that will park your car in the rear of the restaurant. Once you go inside the lighting is very dim but welcoming. As we waited for our reservation, they guided to the bar to wait. You can order a drink while you wait for your table to be ready. The food was better than we thought and we finished everything (something we don't normally do). Our waitress was very patient and kind.

Yelp
Highly recommended! One of my favorite restaurants in atlanta. Great service, the grilled octopus is the best one I've tried. Cooked to perfection.

Yelp
If they ever have the Chilean sea bass special topped with shrimp and lemon garlic butter sauce, do yourself a favor and ORDER IT! It's seriously amazingly delicious! I get the peri peri sauce on the side and instead get my shrimp with the same sauce that come on the fish. The Chilean sea bass is seasoned and cooked perfectly and melts in your mouth like butter! I've been twice in the past two months just for this dish! 10 Degrees South needs to add this to the menu, please and thank you!

Yelp
What a cute and romantic place! I have been here a few times now and the sentiment remains- Lovely! They have a very well stocked bar and a good drink menu. I tried Lychee martini and it did not disappoint. Apps: beef jerky (fantastic choice, highly recommend) and prawns (very well executed and also delicious). Main course: ostrich medallions,med-rare (a bit well done for my taste) but the yellow and white basmati rice had a very nice flavor). We finished the evening off on their patio with some live music and sambuca Overall: very unique place with a nice patio and good food. I'll be back ;)

Yelp
Had date night here with my husband to celebrate our anniversary and left underwhelmed and disappointed. This place is overrated in my opinion. Ambience is great romantic but the food was just ok and for the prices we paid and all the reviews I expected we were going to be wowed. The most disappointing was the veggie curry it was sweet and under seasoned. The fish was great. We also got dessert chocolate cake but it tasted like cake you could get at a chain restaurant. The alcoholic drinks were tasty and sexy. I would not come back and it's not on the top of my list of restaurants I recommend in Atlanta. Oh well at least it was romantic

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was. I tried some of the wines from SA and I was skeptical but again very pleasantly surprised. The staff are friendly and the owner even came out and said hi. This place is a must try!!

Yelp
AMBIANCE Modern decor, high ceilings, intimate setting SERVICE Prompt and great service FOOD Food is very good, better than expected. We had the lobster spring roll (5/5), calamari (5/5), peri peri chicken and chicken bobotie. All really good flavors. I originally ordered the peri peri chicken and the husband ordered the chicken bobotie but when we tasted each other's dishes, we realized we liked each other's dish better so we swapped, which has never happened before. So for me, the peri peri chicken was just ok (it's like chicken with hot sauce) but he really liked it and vice versa. I think that's the only reason why I settled on a 4 rating because if I really liked my original order, I wouldn't have wanted to swap.

Yelp
Most amazing experience and the food was so delicious. Not to mention, after dinner we chilled in the lounge area and had drinks while listening to some nice live entertainment

Yelp
Had a great dinner here. Great modern interior. Love the art! Great for parties. They have plenty ty of seating. We had a drink at the bar and the bartender was excellent. Made a great Manhattan! Very knowledgeable and perfect drinks! For dinner, we started with the bobowtie spring rolls and calamari. Both were very tasty.i would order both again. For dinner, I had the Peri Peri chicken. It was excellent. It was a whole cornish game hen with rice and squash. Lots of flavor. Good grill. For dessert, I had the sponge cake and it was delicious! Caramel, ice cream and tastiness!! We also tried a few of the wines and port. Everything was great! Service was awesome. Very knowledgeable and helpful! There was live music on Saturday night. Really great spot!

Yelp
Best part: This place is really lovely to look at, I think the decor is absolutely wonderful...it is broken up into sections that are equally nice and beautiful. I would love to see this place on a busy night. The was food okay to good, nothing to rave about..we both enjoyed the lobster spring roll appetizer(yummy! order these!!)..the calamari has an overpowering vinegar taste, would not suggest... I had the butternut squash ravioli, it was tasty with just enough kick. Worst Part: we called to make reservations for 9p on a Tuesday, the person told us that they would be closing the kitchen early so we need to be there on time..... um... you close at 1030p..it is bad business to try to turn away customers just because it is a slow night.. we arrived at 855p and it was practically empty yet our 1st drinks didn't arrive until 917p.. lol what the heck happened to your rush??.. Also..the original valet attendant did not open my door or introduce himself..I sat about a minute too long before I realized I was expected to let myself out..lol and just before we left the last valet attendant delivered our keys to the table because he had to leave early..

Yelp
This is an updated review from 2013. We recently went with another couple to 10 Deg South for a shared birthday month dinner (his birthday is 3 days before mine). They had never experienced South African food before and were willing to put themselves in my hands to curate a South African "tapas" style meal of various appetizers and small plates to experience the cuisine. Here's what we ordered over the course of the evening: Biltong - the salty, spicy cured beef chips that you wind up eating a whole plate of before you realize you've done it. Lollipop Lamb Chops - these aren't little one-bite lamb lollipops. Each chop has a good bit of rich, tender lamb cooked to perfectly medium rare. Mabaleng Mushrooms - mushrooms in garlic and lemon. So good. Mussels in Garlic & White Wine - still the best thing on the menu with sauce you could drink. Be sure and ask for extra bread to sop it up with. Boerwars - delicious, tender beef sausage served sliced with a tomato/onion sauce on top. Sosaties - marinated roasted beef filet that is super tender, served with a sweet and spicy apricot sauce. Lobster Spring Rolls - crispy and stuffed with lobster meat. These are good but they're my least favorite thing on the menu when compared to all the other items. Peri-peri Chicken Spring Rolls - crispy chicken rolls with a kick from the peri-peri peppers. Safari Salad - split 4 ways and light and fresh to counterbalance the rich appetizers. We finished with coffee and Amarula digestifs. The food and the service both remain excellent and it was a lot of fun to introduce my friends to a cuisine that I grew up with. I think we've made converts and I'm pretty sure that we'll all be back in the future - separately or together.
