101 BISTRO Restaurant & Bar

I just loved this place! I came across 101 Bistro through Reddit recommendations. It might seem a little pricey at first, but I’d say the prices are quite reasonable considering the wide variety and quality. Both the food and cocktails were excellent. I had one of the best whiskey sours ever. As for the food, the classic pork belly confit bao was amazing. The bao burger was pretty good as well, but if you have to choose between the two, go for the pork belly bao. The Cantonese chicken consommé was a nice soup with interesting flavors. My personal favorite dish was the Taiwanese mango prawn - it had an outstanding taste. For dessert, I highly recommend the raspberry mooncake. It’s simply presented but has an amazing texture and great flavor. It’s become one of my favorite desserts ever. The atmosphere is great, and the service is really good too.

We visited Bistro 101 with high expectations after hearing a lot about the concept, but unfortunately it didn’t quite work for us. This is, of course, just our personal experience. We tried several dishes, including dumplings, a broth, and a bao bun. The dumplings didn’t really stand out for us, and the broth was unfortunately very bland, especially considering the price. The bao bun also lacked flavor and didn’t feel well balanced overall. The portions were quite small, and to feel satisfied we would have needed to order several more dishes, which made the experience feel rather expensive. The concept is interesting, but in terms of taste and value, it simply wasn’t a good match for us.

Really nice Asian fusion restaurant with interesting dishes, perfect Bao and nice cocktails. Even though it is right at Széll Kálmán tér the backyard is super quiet and cozy. Cucumber salad is a must have, the tempura veggies are superb and the chicken tigh is really nice.

Amazing Taiwanese spot in Budapest with a creative menu and cozy ambiance, perfect for a relaxed dinner, especially in their lovely inner courtyard. The food is not only beautifully presented but packed with flavors also clearly prepared with care and expertise. Highly recommend ordering a few small plates to share, it’s the best way to try more things. My personal favorite is the Prawn Tempura Bao. Crispy, well-seasoned shrimp in soft, fluffy buns. I could honestly eat it every day. The Crispy Tapioca Bites are also a must try. The Steak was another highlight, perfectly cooked medium-well, served with a rich pepper sauce and a soy-cured egg yolk. Hands down one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. They also have a fun cocktail menu with some really unique drinks that pair great with the food. On top of all that, the service is outstanding. Definitely a place worth checking out.🥩🦐

We were so pleasantly surprised by 101 Bistro. The eggplant (aubergine) was amazing- this is what a friend had suggested to me, and did not disappoint. We sat inside and went early, but there was a lovely back patio that was pretty full at 6pm. Reservation may be helpful. The staff was warm and helpful. This restaurant is conveniently located close to the Metro/Bus/Tram stops at Szell Kalman, so easy to get to. Great!

It's an awesome little spot in Budapest for Asian and Taiwanese dishes. The food is super tasty and really interesting – full of unique flavors. The vibe is chill, and the staff is super friendly. I especially recommend the spinach dish and the aubergine! The brownie was very small though, and I really missed having some vanilla ice cream with it. However , the place is definitely worth checking out!

Very cute place with cute atmosphere and fast, good service . The food was good but the portions were tiny for the price. I wish the noodles with meat would have had some veggies or a bit more broth.
