I generally consider 110 to be a solid spot to take folks for dinner in Worcester. Not especially adventurous, not particularly special, but convenient, predictable and reliably good.
Recently had a meal that did not live up to those expectations. I did not send it back, I did not speak with anyone about it -- I know, I should have. But we were a party of 10, the server was super busy, and I just did not want to be that guy, if you know what I mean.
I ordered the chimichurri steak, described as: "Cajun Seasoned Sirloin Steak Topped With An Herb And Garlic Infused Chimichurri Sauce" ($30)
Major issue:
I don't know what was on my steak, but it was NOT chimichurri. It looked and tasted like shredded broccoli and celery, distinctly vinegary or like, pickled. It was chunky. There was nothing saucy about it and there was not even a bit of parsley or cilantro I could identify.
It was green, but it was clearly also cooked (why??) ... so maybe there were some herbs mixed up in there, lost in the heat of cooking. idk.
(110: BTW if you guys happen to respond to this review can you confirm if the pic does actually show your chimichurri, or if I maybe got served something else on my steak? Honestly... curious. Honestly... would feel better if this is just a case of some kid making a mistake in the kitchen.)
Minor quips:
Ok, this is not entirely 110's fault, but most of the time when you order a chimichurri entree it comes on skirt steak or flank steak. You know, churrasco. I read the description quickly and missed that it was sirloin. They sort of cut it thinly to look like a skirt steak (clever), but it had no marbling whatsoever (not clever, very sad.)
Going back but not ordering chimichurri anything again.
