"111 East is both the only place in the Seaport that has inspirational quotes from the Buddha on the wall in front of the bathroom, and the only place in the Seaport that has hot pot. One of these things is probably more important to you than the other. Quests for nirvana aside, you’ll find a good menu of pan-Asian stuff here, including everything from Thai noodle dishes and Korean barbecue in addition to that hot pot. It’s a fun, trendy spot with sake cocktails and a decent beer selection, and should be on your radar if you spend a lot of time in the Seaport." - Dan Secatore

I’m currently a tenant at 111 on East and am really happy to be. This building really does deserve 5 stars in all categories, management, maintenance, cleanliness, and my apartment. This area is really great too with cafes, restaurants, a book store, art gallery, and even a cat cafe right across the street. It’s awesome to have the restaurant, bar and Dunkin right in the building bc they’re all great. The lobby is great, it’s always clean, smells great, and is secure. The new elevators are beautiful and it’s great having so many washing machines because I can do all my loads at once. This building is so beautiful and historic and you can tell the owners really take pride in that. This building is an opportunity to live a well rounded and fulfilling lifestyle in Rochester.

The property manager Brittany was responsive, friendly and VERY patient with me in helping me lease an apartment at 111 East ave. There was a few times I didn’t think I would be able to get the apartment and Brittany did everything she could to help me secure it. I appreciate her help and happy for the reminder that there’s still nice people out there. Ultimately, I wasn't able to accept the apartment (I did get approved) due to an unexpected loss in my family. Even after telling her the news she responded compassionately and professionally when most would’ve been upset or felt I wasted their time. Her customer service was and is unmatched hands down. She’s nice, understanding, answered all and every questions I had. I truly recommend reaching out to her if you’re look to lease here. Thanks again Brittany!

I’ve been living in this place for a few years now and I must say, I’ve throughly enjoyed it! Utilities are included which is great (especially for the downtown area) and management has alway been really good about knowing the residents and being as kind and knowledgeable as they can be. I also love that it’s in the heart of downtown Rochester, so I’m always close to any of the major Rochester events that the city is known for. It’s also a very safe building, lots of cameras and security. I’ve come in and out at different hours and never felt unsafe.

Staff Are Very rude …. Management is terrible Half the building are racist towards black people but won’t accept it . They come into your apartment with out letting you know for a pest inspection. Was refused access to the shaft elevator when I first moved in until I had to stress the situation between the staff and maintenance it was a very uncomfortable weird situation I had to deal with while the moving company were waiting And music practices all through night(annoying). Everything as pool, music room an Workout room has been closed for who knows how long. Again staff are rude ! Plus if your black & accidentally left your keys. Your ”neighbors” will ask you your whole life story before letting you u into your own building. Definitely not a type of place to feel Comfortable in No matter how Homey you decorate it also There's about 6 practice fire alarms a year where everyone one has to leave there home and head downstairs through the stairway major inconvenience

You can't get anything better for a very reasonable price downtown. And you're right in the middle of the St. Patrick's Parade, Jazz Festival, and more! In my 3 years of living here, I have seen a lot of improvements happening such as: new elevators, new flooring in the hallways, efforts to improve building security, a new secure mail room, new laundry machines, and more.. Sure there have been some issues here and there but they are to be expected with an older building. On top of their efforts in ensuring the residents have a positive and comfortable living experience, they have been very accommodating with my disability and my service dog. Every time they need to communicate with me or respond to a maintenance request, they always text me and are super friendly.

I've lived at 111onEast for 8 years in 2 different apartments. The current management is the best I've ever experienced. Brittany and her team respond quickly to maintenance issues, and the price and location are exceptional. Nothing else in downtown is priced this affordably for what you get (I check periodically). The fact that utilities are included is a major plus as well. I will say that the temp control box is virtually useless and I have had issues in both apartments getting it to work as it should. This is not a detraction, as the heat and cool are regulated- just not by us, but by the building (to my knowledge anyway. I would love to once and for all figure out what the hieroglyphics on the box mean!) Safety issues of living downtown in a major city are constantly being addressed- the addition of the new security access outside the first door is a godsend!

I just moved out of 111 after calling it home the past 3 years so I figure its time to give a review. If I said living here was a flawless experience, I'd be lying. I had three different units in the building, 2 of which were flawless and had no issues. The other, was a maintenance nightmare. I do have to give a hand to the staff, they did everything they could do within their power to resolve the issues as quick as they could. The staff also recently went through a change in management and it seems to be for the better. The new building manager has really gotten on top of staff and is having a lot of needed maintenance done. All in all, you can't beat the price, location and experience of 111. It's a unique experience to be able live in an old building with so much character and history in Rochester. Unfortunately, so many are just parking lots now. If you can accept that it is an old building that will have its quarks, this is a great place to live. The apartments are nice, clean and well kept, always warm in the winter, and cool in the summer. Most units boast great views of the city.

management company is unresponsive and awful to deal with. 2 months and still have not received security deposit back. After numerous attempts to discuss privately and emails and texts, finally was able to get refunded.
