111 West 57th Street, also known as the Steinway Tower, is the world’s thinnest residential skyscraper in New York City. It stands 1,428 feet (435 meters) tall, but is only 59 feet (18 meters) wide. It is located along Billionaires‘ Row, north of 57th Street near Sixth Avenue and near Central Park. One of the tallest buildings in the United States, the building was designed by SHoP Architects for its exterior and Studio Sofield for its interior. Completed in 2021, the building combines modern elements with Art Déco details, echoing the aesthetic of the historic Steinway Hall at its base. Its 84 floors are occupied by high-end retail and entertainment spaces on the first five floors, while the remaining 77 floors are residential units for 60 units. The top floor boasts the most luxurious penthouse unit.
