I came here with my friend as a little birthday celebration as our birthdays are less than two weeks apart in February. I tell ya, I don't take a trip to Provo lightly. Provo is not my favorite place. But when I saw that this spot existed, I promptly made us a reservation. We did the high tea. I had the iced chocolate drink after much debate. It did not disappoint. (My fear in ordering those types of drinks is that there will be ice chunks. Thankfully, there were none.) All of the food and treats were so good, too. Our server also did a good job. I loved the decor. It just was styled so well. There's also a little area where you can shop and buy chocolate. I was tempted but did not succumb. This is a gem of a spot, and I wish it had existed when I lived in Provo. Definitely check it out if you haven't yet.

Popped in for dessert. Super cute little shop! Avalyn, our server was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. We ordered iced chocolates. Sooo delicious!

Super cool ambience, very unique chocolates and many to choose from, and the staff is very knowledgeable and kind. Definitely recommend this place for a date night desert! Also get the side of ice cream, it's magnificent.

I've been here twice in the last week. My niece and I stopped in for some dessert last week and I saw that they had a food menu as well. We tried out the dessert and joined some last spots for the chocolate tasting and factory tour. The employees were informative and fun! We had a great time. The dessert, chocolate and even vinegar samples were amazing. My friend and I returned later in the week and I loved our experience. The food, presentation and employees were once again fabulous. The ambiance is fantastic and the decor is so tasteful. (Pun totally intended).

Afternoon, tea! So exciting! I got the ginger, mint tea and my friend got the Coco. We started with an assortment of sandwiches, then moved onto the scones with jam and mascarpone and ended with an assortment of delectable desserts. We sat at the front table next to the window. The sun was shining and it was a terrific spot. Afterwords, it's nice to look at all the different items you can purchase and take home. I got a few fun things and I had to get a piece of the devil's food cake with raspberry custard. Last time I got the coconut cake to take home, and I tried it with the raspberry vinegar. Super yummy! You have to make reservations in advance for afternoon tea. It was my friend's first time having afternoon tea and she enjoyed it immensely we both did she made reservations for the next weekend for her daughters birthday. I will definitely be back there are still so many different things I want to try.

This review is for the chocolate tasting experience! Such a posh and classy date night or experience with friends! We got to tour the chocolate making factory and learned all about how their chocolate is made from the bean to the bar! Our hostess was kind and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions well. After the little tour and explanation, we sat down to our tasting experience. It was all laid out beautifully and our hostess instructed us on how to properly taste the chocolates to get the full experience. She then explained the origins and complexities of each chocolate variety. We had little note cards to take notes and water to cleanse the palette. They also include some drinking vinegars for the more adventurous foodies. The fancy Nutella they gave us was TO DIE FOR. After the event we got to browse their selection of chocolates and purchased a few at a discounted rate. We loved this experience and would love to do it again another night! It's definitely a fabulous upscale experience that any chocolate lover or foodie would enjoy!

Honestly, anything less than 5 stars is unacceptable. I've been coming to The Taste since it first opened. I've done chocolate and vinegar tasting, afternoon tea, fondue, and their Valentines packages. They are amazing every single time. I use The Taste as a "no fail" date with my wife because it is always good and always great quality. I don't know who the chef is but the food is probably the best in Provo. I love the crème brûlée and the amaretto hot chocolate. Service is always great. Ambiance is amazing. I love to work from here instead of a coffee shop.

We loved our time in taste. We went there seeking a boujee sweet treat and they delivered. We tried the iced chocolate with oat milk (the best of the dairy free options IMO) which the server recommended. The pricing is great for the quality you receive. The outside/Inside is lovely. You feel like you're stepping into a cafe in Europe rather than in Provo, UT. They make chocolates on site and the owners are super knowledgeable about all things chocolate We took a few things to go that were nice for the road - a dairy free bar of white ginger chocolates and a bottle of alcohol free Chardonnay. I can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu!

First time trying this place. Very unique and a little fancy atmosphere. They don't have high chairs at all. They have a smaller menu. We tried every sandwich. My favorite sandwich was the spanakopita. We also each got their season soup which was white cheddar cauliflower and it was absolutely delicious. We tried the scones which weren't even really scones, they were more like biscuits. We also tried the molten cake and the s'mores dessert. The molten cake was good and moist but didn't have any chocolate that oozed out like molten cakes usually have. The s'mores dessert was so dang good though and it was unique. My 2 favorite things we got was the soup and the s'mores dessert.

If you didn't and you're an afternoon tea fan I would highly recommend taking a trip to Taste 117. It was roughly $28 a person. Highly affordable and they have tasty selections. At the Grand America Hotel in downtown SLC, the starting price is $40 a person. I've been to the Grand America four times for afternoon tea and their menu has not changed and gotten stale. Taste 117 absolutley satisfied my urge for something fresh. Please note that it's recommended to go on their website to reserve a spot. On the website it's possible to also pre-pay. Drinks: I went with the classic Black Tea and my partner isn't a big tea fan. We ended up getting a Cacao Tea (comes with a French press). Both were equally delicious. Savory: classic cucumber sandwich, roast beef sandwich, turkey strawberry puff pastry, and blackberry compote with goat cheese on a blini pancake. Recommendation to add some sort of au jus dipping sauce for the roast beef. It got a little dry after the second bite. Sweet and Savory: Buttery Scones with Raspberry jam and clotted cream. I'm salivating just thinking about it. The scone was soft on the inside and a bit crisp on the edge. Reminded me a bit of a the pie crust from a Marie calendar's Pot Pie. Sweet: Three chocolate items were offered. 1/ Devils Food Cupcake (chocolate cake with spiced whipped cream), 2/ Brownie (decadent dark chocolate brownie), 3/ Blackberry shortcake and cream (this was cream and refreshing). Recommendation to change up the sweet variety. By the time my party ate the desserts, they all felt one note. Chocolate Brownie, fresh fruit tart, and some sort of custard base pudding would be a good trio. Overall, I can't wait to return and bring in my friends and family. The only issue we had was that there weren't many customers in the restaurant and so the staff was focused on cleaning and being in the back room. There were a few times where we needed to go search for the staff when we needed something or we were left completely alone in the store front. This poses a security risk for the staff or the customers. Recommendation to check on your customers even when it's slow. Never ever leave the front unattended. Would you go? Let me know. The ambience and cute inside is definitely the most desirable part about the place. The inside is very cutely adorned and has a tea party-esque feel. The food itself was very mediocre. The turkey prosciutto is over powered by the sweetness of the fig dressing. While all of the ingredients do pair well, the execution isn't don't properly. The saltiness of the prosciutto doesn't come through to cut the sweetness of the brie fig, which ruined the sandwich for me. The croque monsieur was overly salted at best. There weren't any flavors coming through in the dish other than an occasional salty bite and the taste of seemingly burnt hair. The side salad was fine albeit low effort, just leafy greens, chopped cherry tomatoes and a balsamic glaze. The potato salad was an experience, to say the least. The potatoes tasted as they had been made in an air fryer and left out on the table overnight. The potato salad needed a level of creaminess and was missing the classic flavors of potato salad. Personally I feel it should've been served warm and could have been done as topped potato wedges. The mint steeper was the best thing on the table today, I would like a deeper flavor profile and would probably opt for mint ginger if I were to reorder. The service was standard, nothing exceptional or rave worthy but nothing to complain over either.

If you're looking for a fun, unique, and tasty experience, this place is it! We walked in and I was I immediately in love with the interior. Adorable decor and seating! Let me start off by saying I went with friends for afternoon tea, and "Taste" is an accurate name for this place. I went in expecting to still be hungry after all the little "tastes" that went with our tea but we were all pleasantly full! You get a lot of small tasting portions. There is one of each taste for each person in your party. We loved everything we tried! I had the frozen hot chocolate and it was divine - though very rich, and they do give you a large cup! I will definitely be back to try more fun tasting menus, which change seasonally! Very fun and yummy restaurant.

Very cute, very styled! I enjoyed afternoon tea service here at Taste and it was lovely. There was a nice selection of options including teas, chocolate drinks and vinegar based drinks. I opted for tea; it was steeped a little week for me, so next time I'll probably ask for extra strong. The tea service includes a tea time lunch consisting of assortment of sandwiches, scone with spread and an assortment of dessert. Each food item was great and had attention to detail that I can appreciate. The service was great. The waitress was friendly and attentive. We made sure to tip with cash since the reservation is paid online.

I haven't been to Provo for years but Taste will definitely get me back soon. This cute little cafe made us feel like we were on vacation. We both had the Turkey Prosciutto Sandwich that came highly recommended. It was a perfect blend of flavors with the Brie and fig jam. Can I just say WOW to the Butternut Squash Gnocchi Soup that left me wanting to lick the bowl. My daughter loved her Mint Hot Chocolate which will be the perfect accompaniment when we visit again for all of their delectable looking desserts. The customer service made our visit even more enjoyable. I wish I would have gotten the young man's name who stopped by our table. I asked if he was the owner because he carried that type of vibe.

This is my fourth visit for afternoon tea at Taste and definitely won't be my last! Each month the tea menu changes and it's always fun to see what new seasonal items will be served. Though the individual delicacies are small, I am always full by the time I work through all 3 tiers of the the tray. The servers are always so kind and do a great job of explaining the menu. The ambience at Taste is part of what makes being here a great experience! When I enter the building I feel like I'm stepping into a simpler time where I can sit and sample a variety of tastes while enjoying time with those I love. Be sure to reserve a spot in advance, as times fill up quickly. Each "tea time" is made to order, but when given advance notice, they can package afternoon tea to go. This is a great location for girls' brunch, baby showers, bridal showers, or bachelorette parties. You won't be disappointed!

Tea for two was such a great time. There are so many fun drinks to choose from, we could not even choose one. The presentation is top notch, I cannot wait to go back again! We tried their non alcoholic champagne, that was fun. Iced chocolate, as well as their vinegar mixers - they aren't for the faint of heart but they were shocking and refreshing. Come hungry!

I had a wonderful tour & tasting experience here! I would highly recommend this for a group activity or date. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. However, the actual Taste brand product was hit or miss. Any chocolate bars with inclusions that get stale easily when exposed to air where not worth it. For example any chocolate that has graham cracker, marshmallows, candy, etc you will find they inclusions are very stale as they are sprinkled on the back of the bar and the wrapping is not air tight. Chocolate without inclusions or items like dried fruit that don't go stale easily was good. Also, you can purchase non-Taste chocolate or unique items. I did not try the hot food that was available.

Super cute store. I love how cute this place is. I ordered takeout and think the cashier forgot about me because I was waiting for quite a while. I had ordered my food online and even called ahead to let them know what time I would be there to pick up my food. I have been trying to limit where I go with covid, so did not want to wait in the store for long and thought I'd save time if I ordered ahead and called ahead. I asked the waitress if my order was ready and she said it was and went and got it. When I got to my car, I had a sip of my hot chocolate, expecting it to be hot... it was barely warm. I decided to wait to drink it and warm it up when I got home. The hot chocolate was super thick! You can definitely tell they use cream in the hot chocolate. It tasted much better warm. I did add some milk to thin it out since it was so rich. The s'more cup was good. That was my favorite out of everything I ordered. It was super rich too. The s'mores had a chocolate mousse with cookie crumbles and was topped with marshmallow cream. I would order this again. The brownie was very rich, as well. Two brownies come in one order and a little brownie goes a long way since they are so rich in chocolate.

You gotta have a Taste! Taste is the cutest artisanal chocolate shop, cafe, and tea room all in one down in Provo. First of all, they make their own chocolate and have their factory on the side. You can see thru to the factory from the cafe and scheduled chocolate tours are also available. They make unique flavors, including their Explore collection which features flavors that would be the flavor, or rather taste, of specific locations around the world. I had a "Madagascar" chai & milk chocolate bar that was delicious. Besides chocolate, Taste offers high tea, decadent desserts, fun drinks, and various sandwiches. I highly recommend getting the Taste ice cream which features a cherry balsamic and citrus olive oil. The flavors are so unique, it is phenomenal! Besides the ice cream, they also offer cakes, frozen hot chocolate, a unique s'mores dessert, and more. I had their seasonal pumpkin chai buttercream. The cake literally melts in your mouth, it is that moist and oh so rich. If you're looking for something savory, I recommend the turkey prosciutto sandwich. It has a fig dressing which pairs incredibly well with the brie and prosciutto. The interior of Taste is just adorable! It is perfect for girl's brunch, high tea, a date, or a quick dessert stop. The staff is very friendly and passionate about what they do. Five stars for this Provo gem!

We went to Taste for dessert. My wife loved the atmosphere. They make their own chocolate their and make their desserts from scratch. We got the S'mores Taste Style and Molten Cake. For me the chocolate was too dark and needed more sugar but my wife thought it was perfect. You can also do chocolate tasting and tea.

Such a cute place! Great food! We ordered the croque monsieur and the pink ginger beer drink. Service was a bit slow, but I think they were short staffed when we went.

All style little substance. We came in for the fondue evening. We ordered both the cheese and chocolate fondue. The fondue was tasty. The cheese fondue came with tiny amounts of food, including potatoes, which were as hard and dry as croutons. It felt like both platters were dressed with premade mediocre grocery store fixings served alongside their fondue. We left unsatisfied and swung by our favorite taco stand for a bite before heading home. This was our first and last visit. We really wanted to like it.

I was impressed by the quality of the food. The molten cake was amazing, definitely get the ice cream bc it's rich. Loved the atmosphere!

We got a chai hot chocolate to go along with a seasonal scone and it was good but not worth the price. I think the other treat options are probably better. The service was also immaculate which made the waiting bearable.

I took my two daughters on a girls date here to get the afternoon tea set. The food was delicous and it's such a cute place to eat! Really aesthetically pleasing. One of my daughters ordered an ice chocolate drink and it was amazing. It wasn't too sweet - it was perfect. Also, the customer service was wonderful. They're very attentive and have excellent communication. We will DEFINITELY be going again.

We picked up some chocolate bars and cacao tea. The cacao tea from Ecuador and from Madagascar are excellent. I add malt powder, a smidgen of sugar, and a little almond milk. It's a nice low-sugar chocolate fix! The Taste chocolate bars were pretty good, but nothing I'd go back for. They were roasty and pretty smooth. We weren't crazy about the white chocolate strawberry version. We gave our daughter a bar from Japan, and she said it was the best chocolate she's ever had! I'd come back for their dine-in menu!

Several years ago, I booked a double date for a tasting here with my sister and her hubby, and then the day prior, decided to go on a road trip to California instead. Though I certainly did not regret the spontaneous vacation, I have oft sighed over my missed tasting, and expressed the need to make up for flaking out on my sister (don't think too poorly of me - I gave the tickets to some of her friends and they had a grand time!). She has since attended several events here and it all sounds like such fun! Last Saturday, my sister and I got together, and finally remedied my failing with a mini tasting. Taste is located in Provo's cutie downtown area, so there is a little parking out front, but not much. I had to pass by and loop back around to get a spot on a side street. We arrived a little after lunch, and they had about ten other customers, but only one employee working for the first little bit, so we waited a couple minutes to start. It was totally fine, though, and we took the time to chat and sip some water, not to mention admire the gorgeous interior of this saloon. I'm told they took inspiration from the movie Chocolot, which I can totally see, with their gorgeous marble bar and counters, dark wood, and gilded accents. A couple ended up joining us at the bar, and then we got started! Taste makes their own chocolate, and we tried two varieties, but they also have many other craft bars (the only place in Utah with more would be Caputos!), so we sampled an assortment of brands and styles. The sweet girl who assisted us asked about preferences of dark vs milk, and made selections based on our answers, but she also threw in a bar I doubt anyone would have chosen based on its description, Domori's Biancomenta. This comprised true white chocolate blended with mint, making a gorgeous verdant buttermint-esque treat. It was totally luscious, and I now I wish I would have bought ten of 'em! We also had Pump Street's famed sourdough, and finished with a real stunner, Friis-Holm's (my most favorite chocolate maker!), triple-turned Chuno. She gave us a quick lesson on the basics of chocolate and detailed directions on how to taste it. Next, we tried some drinking and white balsamic vinegars, along with olive oil. Again, we received tasting instructions, and it really made a difference! The whole thing took about twenty minutes, and is a great deal at $8 per person. They sell everything we tried, along with myriad other goodies. I was going to take one of their giant cookies home, but they were made with milk chocolate, and I wasn't feeling it. These were the only baked goods on display, but now I wish I would have looked over the menu more closely, and inquired about alternatives, as I imagine I could have gotten a brownie or one of the treats that are included as part of their afternoon teas. And yes! They offer teas, which include all sorts of sweet and savory baked goods (they post them weekly on IG) served on one of those fancy triple tier tray things, so it is pretty adorable and perfect for a date or girls get together. I believe they must be reserved ahead of time, same goes for the formal tastings (there are a variety, including special ones for holidays). Mini tastings are available any time, though! Lastly, you can simply dine in with a sandwich, soup, or various baked goodies, along with hot, sipping, or iced chocolate, tea, sodas, even de-alcoholized wine!

Pretty place. We tasted the chocolates, they were good but nothing special. Scones were dry with not much flavor. The balsamics however, were delicious on the ice cream and on the chocolate mousse dessert. Body Cherry balsamic to take home , which was $40!

Came back for another round of afternoon tea. This time I brought my daughters and mother. They all thought it was a super fun experience. My girls absolutely loved the decadence of it all and felt completely spoiled. My mother was just as pleased. I actually enjoyed the sandwich and dessert selections even more than the first time. Everything was perfect.

The sauces on each were so dang good. BUT the sipping chocolate was terrible... and isn't this place supposed to specialize in chocolate? It was super think like pudding but somehow had less flavor than pudding. How?

When I hear there is a artisan, locally made chocolate factory in Utah, I come a running. I am a chocoholic, chocolate snob, and chocolate connoisseur = all words that describe me. HOT COCOA: They have three different types-- regular hot cocoa, cold hot cocoa, and sipping chocolate. The cold one is the smoothest frozen hot cocoa you'll ever get. The regular is deep and decadent and the sipping chocolate, though comes in a shot size glass, it so thick and dark, you'll have a hard time finishing it. Get them all; you won't regret it. CHOCOLATE BARS: My favs: Taste: Madagascar -- 75% cacao, mild citrusy back note. Comforting flavor. Ritual: Bourbon Barrel Aged -- 75% cacao. Very smooth, I want to just melt into it! Fruition: Hudson Bourbon Dark Milk -- similar to the Ritual but with 61% cacao so mildly sweeter. Other honorable mentions: Taste: Mt Timpanogos-milky chocolate with honeycomb bits. Taste: Bridal Vail Falls- tastes like the forest. Taste: Equador- more earthy flavor. Monoa: Goat milk- you can def taste the goat milk. Pump Street: Sourdough & Sea salt- this brand is unique as each has a diff. type of bread. The sourdough brought a slight sourness yet saltiness to the cocoa. Taste: Rowley's Red Barn- tasted like Fall! Mellow wassail flavor. Very nice. Amedei: Pistacchi- probably the best white chocolate I've ever had. Super creamy and not too sweet. TEA TIME: So much girls night fun! It comes with one drink and an tower of assorted pastries and desserts to share. It's about $28/person and must make a reservation in advance.

Sometimes, it just takes the words, "Chocolate Tasting Event," to get my a** out the house and meeting up with some of my lovely Yelp foodie friends! Taste Chocolate Shop and Factory, in downtown Provo, UT is a beautiful vintage-style shop, that serves their local house-made chocolates, other gourmet chocolates, delicious food, afternoon tea, fondue and more! I am officially addicted to their frozen hot chocolate, thanks to the suggestion of my friend! It's really rich and smooth! That alone could've been my dinner! Instead, I also got their Turkey, Prosciutto, Brie and Fig Dressing Foccacia Sandwich. (Did I mention everything is made from scratch there and, not just the chocolates, but also their focaccia bread, dressings, cakes and so many more items!) I also couldn't leave without getting a slice of their weekly cakes (Coconut Crunch) and several of their award winning chocolate bars! These will make excellent gifts, for my upcoming travels - the chokkies, not the cake, silly! lol I'm looking forward to going back and enjoying some Afternoon Tea or some Fondue there, but you just need to make sure to give 24hrs notice. Great food .The restaurant is clean and appealing with a lot of charm . The owner was welcoming and was a great host .We plan on going back for High tea next .

Loved this place so much! My best surprise in this new visit to Provo. Really lovely. I felt like I was back to Barcelona to one of those old cafes you can find in the Gothic quarter. My intention was initially to get coffee and, honestly, was not expecting the interior to be so divine looking, cozy and photogenic. My boyfriend did not to convince me too hard for us to stay and get some hot chocolate. He ordered the sipping choco and that was actually the one I drank (as the consistency is thicker, contrary of what the name would suggest). Mine was more a light choco drink, so we exchanged our drinks but we both loved the flavor. We also got chocolates from Madagascar made in Provo itself (they have the mini-factory just next door) as my boyfriend's son was in mission in that country and would be a great memory for him to get chocolate from the beans from there. They had a great assortment of fine vinegars and oils. Even if pricey, I could not resist to get a cassis and a passion fruit vinegar bottles as well as lavender infused olive oil. There products are from Nice, France, not local, but actually were cheaper than getting them online and they were too tempting. Great service by great looking folks too! Next time I go there I will try the tea service, it looked fantastic.

What a really fun place to spend time at lunch. They've got a cafe menu you can order from but you really should go for their "afternoon tea"! You'll need to reserve it in advance either on their website or by calling them. It's really a treat! You can find the current menu on their Instagram page "havetaste". On this visit, I ordered the Croque Monsieur (Prosciutto ham, bechamel sauce, gruyere, fired in the oven and served with a fresh green side salad) and the S'mores dessert. Both were amazing and I'd like to have it again for lunch today! Parking isn't very convenient, so unless you have reliably amazing luck finding on-street parking, you'll want to allow enough time to park in the lot a block or so away and walk.

I came in for Tea time and honestly the best experience. I wish they were in Salt Lake honestly. The food was fantastic the place was so gorgeous! And the service was very kind and welcoming!

My husband and I shared Taste's Afternoon Tea To Go and it was the fanciest meal we could eat in our homes! We also tried the Croque Monsieur, which was cheesy goodness. Definitely loved it! In the Afternoon Tea there were tea sandwiches, assorted desserts, a scone with butter, jam, and lemon custard with choice of drink. The tea sandwiches were delectable! A perfect blend of flavors in every sandwich, especially the one in the very back of the sandwich pic. Everything was so carefully and deliberately crafted. The desserts were a fun delicious surprise, and the scone was buttery and flaky. This was such a fun lunch, 10/10 would recommend! We are excited to try this experience out in person someday hopefully soon!

The taste has wonderful food if you want a bite with a Girlfriends. They also have great tastings in the evenings which are perfect for date night. We did this as a husband and wife and then when a child came into town we went again and took her for the chocolate tasting. It's a great date night. But I also took a group of girlfriends in here for a bridal shower and we had a blast having the ice cream with balsamic vinegar on it. And photo shooting the whole restaurant with their creative walls and booth. I Enjoy this atmosphere ...it was nice and quiet we could hear each other talk.

What the freak I've been here a couple of times and they have this ice cream with vinaigrette that is soooo tasty. You wouldn't think that it would be so good, but I'm always taken aback by how much I enjoy it. This is a great place for a date!!

This place is gorgeous and the drinks and chocolate are a one of a kind experience. Highly recommend getting the sipping chocolate on a cold rainy day!

Nice variety of food for fondue dipping, well presented. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about what they were serving.

I love this place! A very cozy spot and makes you feel like you're in Europe in a cafe. The hot chocolate is delicious and rich, you can tell they make it there fresh. I've also tried their chocolate mousse and it was delicious! Service was quick and very friendly! I'd like to reserve an afternoon tea time or chocolate tasting which is also offered

Can't say enough good things about Taste! There is no where else like it in Utah County. First, it's so beautiful inside. You'll feel like you are in a gorgeous Parisian Cafe. I swear that the environment make the food taste even better! Second, the food is amazing. They have a very simple menu. They don't serve a lot of food but what they do serve they have perfected! Don't leave here without trying the scones, hot chocolate, and a little bit of brownie! The brownies are so very rich and delicious. I consider myself a chocoholic but I don't think I could ever finish a brownie myself. The seasonal soup is always great too! Parking can be a little tricky. But I'm usually lucky and just find a spot on the street. I've never done a chocolate tasting here but I've bought a few bars of chocolate and they have been very unique and great. If you are going to buy some chocolate, talk to a server, they have always given me great suggestions.

We really like getting the small chocolate bars as gifts to take when we visit family and friends! They make great Utah gifts with the unique package designs, names and references to local places. It's fun to try the different flavors and talk about the places they are named after. It turns into and interactive and delicious gift.
