Yelp
Ok so I wanted to write 2 seperate reviews for each of my favorite food trucks located here at 11th Street Station but Yelp can't find just the trucks. Instead I'm going to give you one giant review. LoL
11th Street Station is one of my favorite lunch time SUMMER locations. I love this place, it is quirky, industrial, modern, with fun live music events, 5 different food trucks, a coffee bar, a regular bar, and many cool places to sit and have a nice time in the sun. I eat here 2-3 times a week when the weather is warm.
I avoid 11th street station when it is winter for 3 specific reasons.
1) It's too cold to be out side eating on a patio. (They do use out door heaters, dress warm though)
2) The inside limited seating is all tall chairs. (Feet dangling, need a step stool just to sit down, chairs )
3) I hate being too cold when trying to enjoy a meal and I hate sitting with my feet Not firmly on the ground. Short people problem.
Ok on with the food review.
The Box, a red truck in the back that makes an outstanding pizza, and caesar salad. If you like brick oven style, small, artesian, made to order, pizzas this is totally your place!! And it won't break the bank like a pizza from Fired Up will.
I personally enjoy thier Hogsback pizza. It has all the toppings I enjoy and comes crispy and delicious. They have thier own brick oven back there next to the truck, that they burn wood in, to bake each pie, such good pizza.
Thier salad is awesome too. They make thier own caesar dressing and grade fresh parmesan all over the top. Such a good salad, and you know it's good, because my Boyfriend will eat it and enjoy it! (and he never eats anything green) I am super picky about the quality of my lettuce and if one leaf is wilted, slimy, or wierd in any way I will reject the entire plate, and believe me I am looking at Every bite. Cheers to The Box!! They never have served me one unusual leaf. Only crunchy fresh lettuce and ingredients here.
Mannys Fresh CO, is the other truck I adore. Find it on the side of the bar hiding in plain sight. A Modern Asian fair that serves some of the lightest crispy tempura in town. I told them thier tempura put East by Southwest to greasy shame.
But the thing I order the most here is the Poke Bowl. A wonderful mix of fresh raw fish, vegetables, crab salad, and other yummy bits, delicately displayed on top of perfect rice. The sauce on it is just SO good, but don't ask me what all it contains, I have no idea. The poke bowl also comes with a cup of miso soup, which is not just the watery bland version I've mostly had. Instead it is savory, warm and brothy. Warms you from the inside out.
The sushi here is really good too, and what you will probably like even more then thier sushi is the price!! Good food for a good value. Finally real sushi everyone can afford in Durango.
