"Located inside a convenience store in Playa del Rey, ASAP Phorage is a tiny counter serving quick, delicious Vietnamese food. We absolutely love their pho, but when it comes to a day at the beach, head for the banh mi section of the menu instead. The lemongrass pork is a classic, but the ground beef curry banh mi is our favorite sandwich on the menu. Tip: Grab a green papaya salad for a much-needed cool down later in the day." - brant cox

Your order should definitely include the washugyu pho with rare American wagyu, and the lemongrass pork banh mi with pork belly added (for an extra $2). "One thing you don’t immediately assume about Playa del Rey is that it must be home to some good pho. Let alone good pho in the back of a local convenience store. But it is. ASAP Phorage is the second location of the popular Mar Vista pho spot, located in the back corner of Gordon’s Market. It’s not going to jump out at you, so we advise seeking it out, because this is as good of pho as you’re going to find in LA - seriously. And the beef curry banh mi is a game-changer. But the real secret at this tiny Vietnamese shop in the back of a convenience store in Playa del Rey are the banh mi sandwiches. The lemongrass pork and jidori chicken are both excellent, but it’s the ground beef curry with shaved coconut and red curry aioli that keeps us up at night.
