131 MAIN Restaurant

First of all this restaurant is beautiful. Lovely balance of mood lighting with being able to actually see. Then there's the staff. They worked like a well oiled machine to seamlessly meet all our needs and provide excellent customer service and hospitality. Our main server, Hannah, was very attentive and made our evening so much more enjoyable. Finally the food. The ribeye had one of the best cooks on it we've had for a while, and the chop salad was absolutely delicious. We look forward to coming back again soon!

The staff were incredibly attentive, supportive and helpful with decision making. Highly recommend the big island ribeye marinated, medium rare. Will certainly return to try additional options.

Visited for the first time recently and we were very pleased. The bar is very lively and packed. The dinner menu is fairly limited but still a great selection. We had the filet mignon which was excellent and a nice cut also. I had the double cut pork chop. They suggested having it cooked medium and it was perfect. This is a double rib pork chop, seasoned well and served with a side. The wine list is ok and we ordered a bottle of The Pairing from the famous Screaming Eagle winery in Napa. It was just ok and there are better choices. It was our anniversary and they served us a creme brulee. Service was on par, we were never rushed and never ran out of water. We will go back to try other items. You should get a reservation as they do fill up. This is a rare 5 star restaurant.

We had a wonderful time at The 131! The rainbow trout was the best I’ve ever had , perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. We also tried the burger, which was exceptional and far beyond the usual.

Haven't been in years but now that I live in the area, decided to drop in for an early lunch to give it a try (in the past I've only been for dinner). Really enjoyed everything from seating, to service and of course - food! I grew up on homemade artichokes, but haven't had them in so many years I thought I would try the roasted artichoke. The following statement is a personal preference - I would have preferred the leaves a bit more tender. However, the flavor was excellent as was the dipping sauce, a nice treat - REALLY enjoyed the heart. Great texture and flavor without a doubt and absolutely no issues at all. Clean of "pricklies" tender and a good size. Tried the prime rib sandwich, and at first thought that it would be plain because I believe it had what looked like just a little bit of mayonnaise on it. Wow! So juicy, so tender, the flavor was amazing and the bread was light and buttery. Excellent job - I opted for a side of horseradish, which was a great compliment and the au jus was also wonderful. Lastly, I will say I really really enjoyed the Thai peanut coleslaw, which was my choice of side and the red cabbage with goat cheese. Oh without a doubt, they are going to be my new favorite sides. I ended up eating the other half of my sandwich the next day and the tenderness, juiciness and flavor of the roast beef absolutely held up with no issues. Highly recommend stopping for lunch and by the way, I'm glad I went in early because by the time I left it was packed - and I understand why!

This was my first time here. The food was excellent. We had the cornbread for an appetizer. It was very good. I had the fish tacos. Excellent! The fish was firm yet tender and flaky. And the creme brulee for desert. Fabulous! The top was crisp as it should be. Our server was Chris and Maria was observing. Excellent service. Attentive servers with personality. Our table was a little rowdy, but Chris rolled with it and was fun. This was an excellent meal! **VERY expensive though. But excellent service and fabulous food.

This is one of my favorite places to enjoy a wonderful meal while in Charlotte! I will start off by saying that the service here is ALWAYS top notch. The atmosphere is calm and comfortable even though it is always nice and busy here. The food is SO delicious. We have had the Crab Cakes, oh my gosh so tasty! We have had the grilled Rainbow Trout with the Kale Salad, my husband’s favorite and it does not disappoint! My personal favorite is the Prime Rib sandwich with their incredible fries! What ever you do you must order a side of the fries! I have to mention another item that I really love on the menu- the Key Lime Pie! It’s the best Key lime pie I have had. Whatever you order here, it will be delicious! If you are ever in the Charlotte area please give 131 Main a visit. Our favorite location is on Rea Rd.

Really not going to waste more of my time than what was already wasted eating here by typing too much. Overhyped and disappointing. Chef doesn’t believe in seasoning or even salt. A waitress who used her hand to wipe her mouth as she handed us plates. A busboy who wiped his nose with his finger. This isn’t the nice date night spot it seems and there are FAR better steak restaurants in Charlotte. I’ll leave this video on what the quality of the $55 ribeye looks like.

This meal was fabulous! I brought a dear friend, this was the first time she had eaten at 131 Main. Ordered the two crabcakes, she ordered the lamb and I ordered the salmon. The crabcakes literally the best I've had anywhere, hands-down there's almost no filler that I could tell at all. Really really good! Can I just say I loved the cold wild rice salad so much that I asked for an order to go. That was the first time I had tried it and in my opinion, it was excellent! We split the Keylime pie, which was phenomenal!

Can I rate a place 4.5 stars? 131 was a great experience overall, but it wasn't until I got the check that I got a bit of disappointment- a bit of deception that makes me hesitant to return. And it's not the ambience. The place is beautiful on the inside. It seems wildly popular. Nice, cozy, intimate. A great place to take a date. Perhaps. And it's not the service. The wait staff did a great job with its duties - from describing the items on the menu to keeping up with refills to clearing empty plates. And it's not the food. The rainbow trout I ordered was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I don't know if I've ever eaten a better fish entree. So what then was the problem? One small deception. Not wanting the kale salad that the menu mentions as the side for the entree, I asked if I could substitute another side for it. "Absolutely!" my waiter responded confidently. All was good in the world at that point, right? Then the check arrived and I discovered I was being charged $2 extra for subbing the side dish. The waiter never mentioned it. The menu didn't mention an upcharge for making a substitute. Nothing. Anyhoo, I paid it. Everything else was top notch. However, trust is an important thing for me. And even in this seemingly small issue, I would have pause before considering returning.

We celebrated my birthday alongside my daughter and son-in-law's 1st wedding anniversary, and 131 Main did not disappoint! All four of us started with the grilled artichoke...a must-order. Charred just right, tender, and full of flavor. Absolutely delicious! I had the filet mignon...cooked to perfection and melt-in-your-mouth good. My husband loved his prime rib sandwich, packed with flavor. My daughter, a loyal fan of their shrimp & grits, was in heaven. Her husband had the grilled chicken pasta and polished off every bite. Our server was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. We requested our favorite table in the back, and they made it happen without a hitch. We were surprised how busy it was for a 4pm reservation, but it didn't affect the quality or atmosphere at all. Cozy, bustling, and still relaxed. Sadly, I forgot to snap pics of our entrees...but the dessert? Oh my. I order it every time, and it's always the cherry on top of a perfect evening. Highly recommend 131 Main for any special occasion... or just because you want an unforgettable meal.

We went here for our anniversary and the service was great our server Nathaniel was very pleasant and attentive. The ambiance was nice and chill. We went on a Monday night. The food was good we got the corn bread for an appetizer and it came with honey. I got the ribs and it came with 2 sides. I got the asparagus and deviled eggs for the sides. My Fiance got the crab cake and it came with one side and he got the deviled eggs. He enjoyed his crab crake. He said everything f was seasoned very well. My rack of ribs were nice and tender. This place was nice and we will be coming back.

Always a dependable and tastey meal. Service is fantastic, the menu diverse and the plating worthy of a a fine dining restaurant. I have never heard a negative comment about this restaurant. This is a very popular restaurant, so reservations are recommended.

131 was fantastic from beginning to end. Let's start with the service. Top notch from the time we sat till we left. Didn't wait long to order, server was attentive and consistently made sure things were going well. I decided to try the Rainbow Trout and substituted the kale and quinoa salad for white cheddar grits. The food arrived quickly and it was great. Fish was cooked well. Pulled easily from the skin yet was firm. Very well cooked and seasoned perfectly. The grits were also cooked well and very tasty. All in all...no complaints. This place can get busy fast so might want to make a reservation to be sure you get in. Looking forward to coming back and trying other menu items.

Food is amazing! Staff is so great! And you feel like you are in a high-end restaurant, which you are but without the cost! Great environment!

131 Main is my favorite place. I have celebrated two birthdays at this restaurant in ordered something different each time. This time I got the crabcakes and they were out of this world. The servers are always lovely and friendly and happy to make suggestions.

It had been a little while since dining here. I was in the mood for a Veggie Burger, in fact, the BEST VEGGIE BURGER EVER! Which comes with Kale and Quinoa Salad. My wife had the Lightly Blackened Halibut Tacos. As always the Service is OVER THE TOP! When my I Iced Tea glass was nearly empty, a fresh one magically appeared. My only issue with 131 Main, and almost every other restaurant we dine at, is the cost of Iced Tea and Coffee. Yes the cost has increased but to charge $3.50 for a glass of Iced Tea is ridiculous. Many of the restaurants we eat at, especially at lunch, do not charge for it. I'm sure that at $1.25 for Iced Tea you'd still be profitable. Just my take on what I feel is an OVERCHARGE.

The food was pretty good, but the incredible service truly set the experience apart. The staff was attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere from start to finish. Combined with the cozy setting, it's a place I'd definitely return to.

EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. The absolute worst french fries in town. They are the super skinny kind that are always cold and are more of a grease delivery device. Can't they read the room and get NORMAL sized fries. And whoever heard of a $30 sandwich? Just meat and bread. Not even any cheese.

We came here to celebrate a milestone birthday, so we came here based on the reviews. Hailey was our server and gave us top service without being overbearing. She made helpful suggestions to help guide us. Wife had the Barrel Cut Filet Mignon and I had the Big Island Ribeye. It was cooked to perfection exactly as we had ordered. All-in-all it was a wonderful dinner and did not disappoint. We will definitely be back.

Talk about a consistent menu and service! For starters, you're always going to win with the double dip or cornbread! 131 is the type of restaurant you can dine in and always get great service and mouth watering dish! I love that the crab cakes are full of meat and not loaded with fillers. The zucchini is grilled to perfection! Mashed potatoes yummers! My husband got the pasta and loved every bite! We love having date night here! The pls e to get steak and not break your pockets.

Had lunch there within the past week. Portions were too large to finish. Service was excellent as usual. It is beyond normal expectations.

Two of our party ordered the salmon with coleslaw and wild rice for sides. I had the smoked salmon appetizer with the soup of the day. Everything was amazing, as usual. Service is absolutely stellar. This is our go to special/favorite restaurant.

Excellent Strawberry Shortcake, authentic Key Lime Pie and the best trout around. Friendly, kind staff.

I go to both locations in Charlotte. The service is impeccable and I love the smoked salmon, wedge salad, fish tacos. I don't eat meat. There is limited option for me. Love to go there, I find it very relaxing.

Went to this restaurant last night with friends and family. The restaurant has a very nice ambiance. I had the ribeye steak, potatoes and chopped salad. The ribeye though not the best was still good. What I really enjoyed was the number of Elton John songs the restaurant played, now that was nice. My wife got the boneless red snapper and my daughter got the steak medallion meal with potatoes. Certainly a nice place to eat and when I come back to the Charlotte area, we will go back.

Back again and happy to be here. It was Wednesday so wine was half off a bottle. Excellent service and they have finally stopped the buss people from snatching plates as soon a plate is finished. Used to be that slow eaters found themselves eating while the rest of the party sat waiting. Grilled artichokes, always good to split with wife $16. Thai steak salad, large one $28. Two additional Caesar salads $8 each. Shrimp and grits $29. A monster of a double pork chop, done perfectly and not dry $32. Maryland Style Crab Cakes $46 and they were WONDERFUL. Hunks of crab barely held together with breading. Have not had them as good since being in Philly and Baltimore. A very fine place to bring a family or a few couples together for a meal. Bar also does a wonderful job.

I love this place and 99.9% of the time we get exceptional service...but there's always that 1% that is still memorable. Today's experience made us feel like something was off. Nathaniel "Nate" was our server. I only know his name because I saw it on the card they place on your table when you're seated. When he approached the table 15 min later, he never introduced himself, never spoke to us about the menu nor the specials for that matter. He messed up the first part of our order, we had to ask for the proper utensil for the entree (he slid on the table) and it simply wasn't the standard by which 99.9% of their staff provides service. Hear me out, I'm not "that person" who complains. But I love this place so much, that it is negatively impactful when a server is sub par.

We went to 131 in South Park. I hadn't been to this location before. They have 3 locations that I'm aware of Blakeney, Huntersville( super nice and small) South Park. This location was very nice. Reservations highly recommended. All locations have outdoor fire pits . We ordered two filets cooked to perfection. One of our party got a prime rib sandwich. We were celebrating my son Xan's 21 birthday ! Our server was wonderful recommending drinks. They have a nice bar with TV's about 1/3 as large as Blakeney . Our sides were cheese grits and fries. We also had the cornbread that I forgot to take a picture of because I was too excited to eat it, served either honey so delicious .. Banana cream pie for dessert

Shame on me for not checking as 131 Main often fail to prepare our To-go (live 25 mi away) as ordered? $60 (Check #148) Special Occasion dinner with the simple request of "no egg" on one of two "signature" Main Salads add Steak. Sadly both had egg that is not easy to remove and put a damper on the evening. A Customer of 131 M forever and will be back BUT, please do better...

Today was an unfortunate experience at an old favorite. The sauce served with the lamb special was overpowering and flavored like balsamic vinegar. The kind waitress quickly addressed the concern; however, the manager failed to appear to check on the situation. Instead, we had the pleasure of enjoying the view of incoming wait staff change from their outdoor clothes into their work attire, hanger and all. Additionally, one staff member, in her non-work attire walked directly into the kitchen on arrival and passed a gloved chef a Starbucks beverage. Needless to say, the quality of service has fallen. Hopefully, time is taken to check on patrons in the future and attend to these problems.

My wife and I went here for my birthday and it couldn't have been better. From the greeting that made us feel welcome to the team of servers that made the meal go like clockwork, to the recommendations of our main server Kamari, everything was an A+! And the food - oh my it was delicious. I had the cedar plank salmon with a mustard sauce and it was the best I've ever tasted. My wife had the filet mignon with mashed red potatoes and loved every bite. We shared the key lime pie to top off our meal - yum!! I almost forgot that amazing corn bread. We'll definitely be back!

We love to cook at home and find we can do it better for a lot less but when we want to feel taken care of this is our go to spot! The Big Island steak is outstanding. Honestly, we have yet to have anything there that disappoints. They are doing something right there and we are so thankful to have this place not too far from our home. Great service, great ambiance and great food... yay! Finally a place where we don't feel ripped off by all the high costs for what you get in this economy.

We have been going to 131 Main for years and one of my favorite things about the place is their consistency. The food and service are always good and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. We were celebrating my husband's birthday with our family, all adults. We had a good mix of dishes between the five of us. We started with cocktails and the grilled artichokes. Simple but tasty and served w a remoulade mayo for dipping. Cocktails were good too. A couple of us had the salmon appetizer for entrees along with salad and fries. They switched out the toasts for a type of lavash cracker. We preferred the toasts but not a huge deal. Their French fries are always a family favorite. Shoestring fries with soufflé dishes of ketchup - the best. I had the crab cake salad. This is no longer on the menu but if you ask they will make it. A well dressed salad with cherry tomatoes, fresh corn and a moly sweet vinaigrette. The crab cake is tall and mostly crab meat, no filler. Nicely seared and served over remoulade. The salad has shrank from its previous plate size portion, to a side salad (Shrinkflation). Overall delicious but expensive. Others had the creamy Cajun pasta with chicken I think. I forget the 5th dish. They were out of the strawberry shortcake so my husband opted for the ice cream brownie dessert, compliments of the house. Great, consistent and friendly service. My only complaint is the prices are too high. Cocktails are $15 and up and the cheapest "entree" is the burger at $19. Most entrees are $30 and up (dinner salads are $24 & up). A sign of the times, I suppose .

the food is as expected great ! i got the prime rib sandwich which i got recommended and it was really good i really recommend it! the service was excellent i had a few adjustments and they were really nice about it! it's kind of dark tho but it leaves a very romantic feel . 10/10

Holy moly.. the crabs cakes are amazing. The crab meat inside? So fresh it's like the ocean just high-fived your taste buds. And the fries? Crispy perfection. I asked for a side of the aioli to dip my fries in and it was delicious. My fiance got the NC rainbow trout but he ate EVERY bite of it with no complaints. We love 131 main and paired our meals with wine and an espresso martini!! Our server was terrific and very attentive & we love the dimer lighting making our whole dinner more intimate.

Great food and service. Consistently good. The ribs and Rainbow Trout are always a 10 out of 10. The atmosphere is good and the service is always excellent.

I had the plank salmon and the wedge salad. Both AMAZING! The salmon was cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection. This was my first time having a wedge salad and I'm so glad to be introduced to it. The wedge salmon is now one of my favorite things. It was delicious! I'll certainly come back again.

If you like J Alexander's and Seasons 52, this restaurant seems like a mash up of both. Loved the Caesar salad and the roast chicken. Key lime pie with the most generous dollop of hand whipped cream was the perfect ending. Served was also terrific and made our evening.

We've always been fans of 131 Main, but our recent to-go order was disappointing. The burger wasn't cooked as ordered, and the salads not only came in small portions but also had the wrong dressings. To top it off, the chili, which we usually love, didn't come with chips or cheese. It just didn't feel like the quality and attention to detail we've come to expect from 131 Main. We hope this was just an off day but their Togo experience is definitely a NO

The food is always prepared well at this location, but this time it was the excellent service that was provided to me. After a slight mix up with my to-go order, Ariana was able to quickly correct the order and I had my food within 15 minutes. I really appreciated the attention to detail from her and her kindness. I cant wait to come back!

The hubby and I went here with my sister and brother-in-law over the New Year weekend. We went on Saturday night. We waited until the day before to make reservations so we ended up going later in the evening. We got there early hoping to get seated then, but it didn't work out for us. Hey...at least we tried! While we waited we grabbed drinks at the bar, and time passed quickly. Next thing you know, they led us to our table. I love the vibe of this restaurant. They have a really cool outdoor area with seating and a fire pit....it was just too cold for that on this night. Our table was a large booth that was nice and roomy for the 4 of us. We were hungry and we are all "amateur foodies" so we were excited for the meal. We ordered two appetizers: the Ahi Tuna Stack and the Crab Cake. First off, the presentation on both was beautiful! They tasted even better. The tuna stack was fresh and had a great balance of flavors and the crab cake was just incredible; generous portion of jumbo lump crab and not a lot of breading so the crab flavor really was enhanced. The sauce was delicious as well! I ordered the featured halibut. It was delicious and was nicely cooked - not too dry - but I have to say that I LOVED the tartar sauce that was served with it. It was a nice addition to the dish. My side was grilled zucchini, which was also delicious. My sis ordered the NC Rainbow Trout (sorry I didn't get a pic of that) and both guys ordered the ribs. Everyone raved about their dishes. The only thing that wasn't great was the deviled eggs that we ordered. I have to say that I didn't try them, but the others said that the eggs just didn't have a good flavor. Service was amazing...our server was competent and knowledgeable, and the timing of our food arrival was impeccable. Bottom line....We had an amazing night with incredible food and service. We will return.

This place is never at the top of my list when going out for a meal, but we ended up here for lunch today. Unfortunately, my mind wasn't changed by the experience and now I'll actively avoid it. Pros: - we were able to walk in for a table - our server, Gavin, was polite and professional - the shrimp cocktail was really good - the cheeseburger and fries were good Cons - they don't include allergen info on their menus and I didn't feel confident ordering for my son who has a food allergy based on what was shared with me - they didn't have a diaper changing station in either the men or women's bathroom. - the older Asian hostess was unfriendly both when we arrived and when we departed - the wedge salad was disappointing due to the lackluster dressing Overall, this sort of restaurant is a dime a dozen in Charlotte and not particularly appealing to me regardless. I wouldn't recommend.

Service is top tier! The servers are extremely attentive to the patrons and tag team tables to make sure everyone is happy! Payton was amazing! She literally speaks with pure kindness and a smile! Even management was kind and brought food out! The lump crab cakes are phenomenal (I'm a Native Marylander) and my husband figuratively drooled over his steak lol We live over 30 mins away and will ABSOLUTELY be back! In fact, I'm so impressed that I'm writing this review while waiting on our dessert :)

131 Main on Fairview at Southpark is consistently a great idea! The service, ambience and food are always on point. I recommend this place for a special occasion or just an everyday meal treat.

I came during lunch peak hours and was able to sit at the bar area upon arrival. Patio seating is also available. Parking was excellent since it is a big shopping center. For food, I ordered their soup and salad combo. Their soup of the day was tortilla soup and I paired it with their wedge salad with a different dressing. Their ranch dressing is made in-house and was delicious. The soup was nice and hot and their wedge salad was fresh and crisp with an appropriate amount of cheese.

131 Main in South Park has become another go to restaurant for me in the Charlotte area. The location is convenient. The interior is a bit dark and stodgy feeling.... But that no problem since I generally choose to sit outside. The outdoor area has seating for approximately six parties and I love it! The servers are always helpful and friendly, no matter where I sit, and they always go above and beyond to make sure that any request or questions are answered. But the reason that 131 Main has become a main stay in my rotation is obviously the food! I have three favorite dishes that I get every time I go. The beef noodle salad is reminiscent of a dish that I used to get at Houston's in Atlanta, Georgia. It's spaghetti noodles with a seasoned beef, mangoes peanuts, avocado, tomato, mint, and a sauce that is more savory in nature. While it seems like an odd combination, it all comes together deliciously. But of my three favorite dish dishes. This is surprisingly my least favorite. My second one is the crabcake. You can get a single crabcake which is a half order of the dinner entrée with whole-grain mustard sauce. The impressive thing about this crabcake is, it is nearly all meat. There is no filler and it is absolutely amazing on the tastebuds! But my hands down favorite is the roasted artichoke. It comes out and my mouth starts to water! It is served with a delicious remoulade sauce, and it's everything that a roasted artichoke should be. If you've never had an artichoke, this is the place to try one! No matter what day it is I am always ready for a trip to 131 Main. In fact, I think I'll make a reservation right now! See you there!

I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed this place. It was in a nice area. Nice atmosphere. The drinks were delicious. The cornbread appetizer was unreal. Wow. Portions were great for the money. Service was top notch. We will definitely go back when we're in town.

I enjoy everything about 131Main. The food is always good no matter what you order. The cocktails are fabulous and the banana cream pie is a must.

Came with here with a local foodie and longtime resident of North Carolina. I told her my craving for baby back ribs and take me to a place that specializes that as comfort food. Once the plates came out, I did not know where to start because all the dishes seemed to catch my eye. The tuna avocado nachos were amazing, the hashed cast iron cornbread was so crispy and has that addictive mesh of sweet-n-salty softness in the middle. Best of all was the rack of baby back ribs with a side of thinly stripped crispy fries and spiced cole slaw. I give the meal a solid 3 nom nom noms. And cheers to my foodie recommender.

Celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary with another couple tonight at 131 Main. So glad I made a reservation since the place was packed. The amount of people dining and holding conversations did make the volume seem loud and somewhat hard to hear those at your table. From the moment we were seated, we received top notch service from everyone on the wait staff. I appreciate how the initial server described the off the menu options so eloquently. We decided to start with the skillet cornbread and an order of their deviled eggs. The honey served with the cornbread was so good and truly took the cornbread up a notch! It was like starting off with dessert. I ordered the crab cakes with fries and my husband chose the cedar plank salmon with grits. We shared a side wedge salad. The salad was one of the best wedge salads I have had. The beefsteak type tomato was the star of the show. My crab cakes were exceptional and a must try for anyone who loves a good, meaty, crab cake. My husband's salmon was very hot when served and tasted over cooked. Since we were dining with another couple, I believe he was hesitant to send it back, but I wish he would have and received a dish he enjoyed. Our server did mention a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary, but when one of our friends declined dessert we were not offered a menu to choose a dessert.

Wowza! Just such good food and service ! Had a team waiting staff so we were taken care of like we were Presidential Candidates! Just adore the Griiled Artichokes , Cornbread is mighty good but the star is the Cedar Planked Salmon ! Too good for words !! Just Smokey and juicy and delicious ! Please go try it ! You will be so happy !

The food and services are always absolutely impeccable here we never have any complaints. The only teeny tiny issue in this evening (which management can't control how long pp linger after their meal. We waited close to 40 minutes after our reservation time. But I will say I have been here over a dozen times and that was an absolute first. Definitely not a reason to complain or to not return. In life we all just need to. "Pack our patience " I will say the host staff was absolutely phenomenal offering us bar seats at least two maybe 3 times .. for 5 of us it was just not gonna be comfortable. So we chose to wait. You won't be disappointed. The ribs are perfection ALWAYS!! Every single salad is SO delicious. The drink are always made to perfection. The staff here is THE best hands down!
