First time here although I lived in Charlotte for many years I can't say enough about the food and service. Celebrated New Years Eve here early in the day and couldn't have made a better choice. Food was amazing as well as the drinks served. Must try the cornbread and crab cakes. Broccoli was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend this place and plan on visiting again. The staff there couldn't be more friendly and helpful, they were definitely a 10/10 on New Years Eve.

Just excellent service and attention to detail. Apps and dinner were so good. First time there for me. I would gladly come back anytime. 5/5 all day long. Fish was Red Bone and had it blackened. Asparagus with a crab meat sauce was the cherry on top. Key lime pie was outstanding and was able to split it easily for two people.

We tried 131 Main tonight after seeing the great reviews on Resy. Let me tell you this restaurant did not disappoint! We were greeted by many wonderful staff members and we were lucky enough to have Cynthia wait on us (request her you won’t regret it.) They do not have a freezer so everything is made from scratch and fish is flown on day of and other entrees are fresh. We chose the cornbread skillet, herb roasted chicken and filet. We also split a side salad with their creamy garlic dressing and let me tell you that dressing is some wizardry. I’ve never had something that lit my tastebuds up like that dressing. From the moment we stepped foot in the restaurant to the moment we left the service, the detail, the conversation, the drinks and the food were an experience. You will not be disappointed. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Made a Tuesday reservation for an anniversary. Glad we did as it was packed. Friendly greetings from host staff and servers. Service was good, food was good. Prices were pretty reasonable for what you get. It's well worth it for a special night

Our server was very professional and personable. We did wait about 20 minutes past reservation time but the chef came out and apologized along with taking care of our apps. Great recovery. Food was delish and the atmosphere was classy and cozy. Will be back!

This place was great. The cornbread was amazing, the deviled eggs were light and tasty, and the prime rib sandwich was unbelievable. I have to say, this bite best French dip I’ve ever had. Would recommend.

I brought my husband here for a night out and it was amazing from start to finish. The services was impeccable and Demetrius took good care of us. They have the best smoked salmon dip and halibut I’ve ever had. The garden fresh lemon drop is my new favorite and the key lime pie blew our minds! We will be back!

My empty plate speaks for itself, the ribs were fall off the bone and fell right into my mouth. 10/10 recommend. Our waiter was sweet and speedy and fun fact, he keeps up his protein intake by eating two plates of baby back ribs every week! We came in right around dinner time, and the place was packed. Since it's first-come, first-served seating, we grabbed a spot at the bar on the left. PS my plate is not a full rack of ribs, my friend and I split the ribs into 2!

Our family loves 131 Main. The food is reasonably priced, high quality and the service attentive. The place is always busy, in fact, it could be larger as we cannot always get a reservation! The parking could be easier, and it takes some driving to find the large public lot to the left of the restaurant. If you want to get a table be sure to call far in advance.

131 MAIN is perfection. It reminds me of a better Houston's or Hillstone; if anyone is familiar with those restaurants. The menu is very reminiscent of those restaurants but the quality at 131 MAIN is WAY better. We recently took my in laws and mom there on a Sunday for a family lunch/brunch. Now they don't have an actual brunch menu, but I opted to have shrimp and grits with a dirty martini. BEFORE YALL COME FOR ME, MARTINI AT BRUNCH IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA, OKAY LOL. Probably top three shrimp and grits I've ever had. The tasso ham compliments it so well that I asked for extra! I've also been here quite a bit during the holiday season after shopping at Southpark and just wanted to treat myself. The filet was CHEFS KISS. The ambiance is nice if you want to embark on a solo visit at the bar. The staff is friendly as well. They do have a front and back waiter, so you never feel neglected. The food runners also stopped by to pre-bus and clear anything out of our way. We really enjoy 131! Does not disappoint!

I had a very enjoyable dinner last night at 131 Main. Beautiful location nice ambiance and not too noisy even though they were very busy. Our server did a sold job not over the top but certainly delivered a nice experience. I had a light dinner with the Tuna appetizer and the Shrimp cocktail both very nicely done

Came here for a work lunch and really enjoyed it! We got the cast iron corn bread to split amongst the table. I also had the ahi tuna salad for my main dish. It was fresh and delicious and I would highly recommend it if you were looking for a healthier lunch that is also filling. Our server was extremely attentive. I will say the SouthPark location at lunchtime is filled with retirees, so just something to be mindful of if that's not your vibe. Would love to come back here for date night though!

I've always heard of this restaurant over the years but had never been. When my friend suggested it for a celebratory lunch I obliged. The hostess acknowledged the celebration on check in. I enjoyed the candlelight atmosphere, and relaxed lighting. The service was great with frequent check ins, and detailed review of the menu, and hidden menu items . We devoured the deviled eggs so quick I couldn't snap a pic. I got the chef special Halibut with crab sauce which was perfectly cooked. My friend had the Caesar salad with steak. The complimentary dessert for the celebration was a nice touch. I definitely see plenty worth trying on the menu. Will definitely be back!

I had a hard time deciding on the number here... I wish I could have rated 3.5 stars to be more accurate? Many years ago, I used to go to 131 Main in Blakeney frequently since it was my ex-friend's favorite restaurant. I remember liking the restaurant, but not quite loving it. Anyway, guess I got bored with their foods in that I haven't returned in years. Fast forward to now, and I felt that my husband would like the place, so thought I'd give this newer (?) South Park location a try. The place itself looked quite nice. Usually I prefer high ceilings, but this place with its low ceiling (yet very, very spacious!) had this cool, underground vibe. The thing that was greatly lacking in ambiance was the overhead music was playing so low that you could barely hear it. Yet you could hear every little thing said by folks around us. Somewhat created a crude ambiance...not "nice" at all! Then the menu...surprisingly very small, with only a handful of options. I could be wrong, but I thought they had an extensive menu long time ago? Anyway, they did have a few appetizing items. My husband decided on Rotisserie Chicken, and I got their Blackened Chicken Pasta. We also added this special side of the day, this sweet curry corn. We also tried their Key Lime Pie. Well, we both thought the entrees were good (though I thought my dish was a tad too thick and greasy in its cream sauce?), and the corn was especially delish...but the key lime pie was really, really bad (the only good part was the graham crackers). Some disappointments definitely included the presentation. Basically the foods looked as if they were just slapped unto the plates, with no effort made in presentation. Also, despite the hefty pricing, they didn't even offer complimentary bread. For these reasons, I can't drop 4 stars. BTW, I tried Aperol Spritz for the first time, and absolutely loved it!! This is where I wanted to go up half stars (to a 3.5 rating!). Service was very friendly, and did fine overall. However, the place was so big, the waitresses were hard to spot (vice versa), so just a tad less attentive than it could have been. Just as in the distant past, I liked, but didn't quite love the place and its foods. I remember thinking that it was very similar to Firebirds. We may try the new Firebirds in South Charlotte soon, and see how they compare. Though not blown over, we DID like the foods enough to return. Hopefully next time, the ambiance and presentation improves at least...so I can bump them up to 4 stars.

5 stars! Can always count on a Houston sister restaurant. We actually walked in right at 9pm and they sat us without any issue. Service is great! The only odd thing is they give paper boxes and brown bags for to-go food.

I went here for a birthday dinner and it was a really pleasant experience. The spot was dimly lit which helped give that expensive vibe, but it wasn't so dark that you couldn't see each other or the menu. Our waitress Kat was absolutely kind and made our experience amazing by being down to earth and funny while giving us GREAT recommendations. We had the smoked salmon appetizer along with the cornbread and let me tell you--that cornbread will change lives. That was the best thing I had while I was there. Followed closely by my main entree: shrimp and grits. If you get this, get the shrimp blackened, it adds so much flavor and will leave your mouth watering. All in all, the only reason I took off 1 star is just because the experience itself wasn't like top notch fancy fancy, but this was still such a cool experience that I would recommend for anyone!

Took my husband here for his birthday and it did not disappoint! Our Server, Kat, was amazing and recommend some appetizers. We decided to try the Smoke Salmon and the Cast Iron Corn Bread. The Smoked Salmon was amazing- if you like medium cooked salmon and the Cast Iron Corn Bread was AMAZING! It had a hint of spice to it yet was sweet. We then got the Maryland Crab Cakes & Southern Shrimp & Grits. My Crab cakes were full of crab so definitely a good choice. My husband's Shrimp & Grits were super flavorful. The ambiance was intimate, business causal wear, efficient, and cozy. Defintely would come back again.

They have great food and a great atmosphere. They are located near uptown in a good location.

We arrived for our 7pm reservation and were promptly seated. Amanda was our sever. She was kind enough. Alright, let's dive in.... One thing I didn't particularly care for was that my entree came with fries (crab cakes). I asked if I could possibly get a 1/2 portion of shrimp and grits. Not an option. I was offered shrimp and grits with a single crab cake on the side. I wanted the two crab cakes--- the only option was the shrmp and grits with a $44 up charge. No thank you. Glancing down the menu, I noticed there were white cheddar grits. I requested that in lieu of the fries and wondered why that not offered as a "compromise" of sorts...I digress. The crab cakes were ok. Sort of wished that I did do the shrimp and grits with a crab cake on the side. There is a crunchy top layer that I am not accustomed to nor was not fond of. The grits are good. They got even better with a sprinkle of the truffle salt I keep in my bag *wink*. All in all, my meal was meh. The ambiance was nice and dimly light which made it very comfortable and perhaps cozy for those on a date night. I actually would recommend this spot for date night. Although my first impression was not the greatest meal-wise. My son enjoyed his meal immensely (filet with fries instead of the smashed red potatoes). I must say that I give a chefs kiss to whomever cooked the filet. It was spot on! Absolute perfection! 131 is worth a return visit, and I will.

We had a great experience!!! I love the ambiance, it's dark lit but small lamps at each table so it isn't too dark. Perfect for date night but also not too romantic so it's also good for a group/work dinner. The menu is very diverse with things from pasta, to fish, to ribs to chicken etc. everything we got was delicious!! They even have several options for dessert that were splitting size. We got the banana cream pie and it was really good- not too banana at all. The ribs also came with wet towels- a very nice touch! The portion sizes were all huge and we all got to go boxes. The best part was the service. The waiters were very attentive and seemed to genuinely care. They were also very knowledgeable on the specials and the menu. They were personable as well. When getting a to go box, they boxed it up for us but made sure to write what was inside on the box. I also loved that the to go boxes were paper- not plastic or styrofoam which most are but is so bad for you. The food also came out quickly. I would definitely go back.

We have passed by this restaurant many times and decided to stop for lunch. We shared the prime rib sandwich and it was very good. This is a very nice upscale restaurant with a good variety to select from. We enjoyed it and the service was excellent. We were told we had a 20-30 minute wait time but they actually seated us within 10 minutes.

Staff here is amazing. Food is exceptionally good. Drinks are always tasty. Great for a night out.

On my most recent visit, I had the salmon--and it absolutely won me over. The flavor was incredible, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. It definitely won't be my last time ordering it! And let's talk about the smoked salmon appetizer--my family and I can't visit without getting it. It's that good. Rich, flavorful, and absolutely worthy of the hype. Great food, amazing atmosphere, and consistently excellent service. 131 Main never disappoints!

131 Main Service - 9.0 They are consistently attentive and helpful with a team approach to service. Ambiance - 8.0 This is more my fault. It's dark and subdued. Like an old money fine dining spot or a date night for a proposal. I was with my adult kids, so it was a bit formal for our tastes. Food - 8.5 On point, as usual. Crab cakes - all meat, no filler with a delicious mustard sauce Grilled artichokes - simple but perfect. I never miss an opportunity to order them. The wood fire grill gives them that little something extra. Thai Steak Salad - another yummy reliable choice just the righy blend of char, sweet, crunch, and herbal notes. All on top pf perfectly cooked noodles. The only version i like better is Houstons in Atlanta Baby back ribs - good sauce and fall off the bone tender. My little Oklahoman heart shed a little tear of gratitude. French dip - Good with great fries. It was what it was. Crème Brûlée - yummy custard but the sugar wasn't quite flambéd enough so the sugar was more gritty than crispy in spots. Overall 8.8 This is a reliable staple in my rotation. I would definitely go back and recommend other give it a try. Note: we were so busy eating we forgot a lot of pics. Sorry.

It's a nice restaurant located in the South Park area. You can park in the front or the back of the restaurant. Plenty parking available. Staff were friendly. I was immediately greeted when entering. Staff checked on us frequently while dining. The food was good. The texture taste was great. The prices were a little higher end.. the establishment was clean and the decor was nice. Great restaurant to take the parents for an upscale experience. The music is jazz, the lighting is low, and temperature is just right. Service is courteous and professional at all times. They utilize front and back waiters so that means you'll have multiple visitors at the table, and that's a good thing. The only issue is parking. On a busier night, this will be quite the task. Menu options are solid. Nothing on the forefront of the culinary world but that's not a bad thing either. You'll be familiar with the wording so that means you'll be familiar with the flavors. The Blackened Chicken Pasta is my go-to. The double cut pork chop is another winner. Reservations suggested...

You may need a flashlight to help you view the menu, but the food is worth dining for. The crab cakes are my favorite entree. I love the view of chefs preparing each meal to order. I did not enjoy the Caesar salad, but the fish tacos made up for the hiccup. Service was average, and the women's restroom was clean. I will return again soon...Let's goo!

We'd been told to go to 131 Main several times and finally made it! From the moment you enter, you know you're going to have a great customer service experience. Being greeted at the door and all the way to your table by servers is the ultimate demo of what the meal will be. For starters, we got the Cast Iron Corn Bread and a half order of the Double Dip. That corn bread, I could order that and do a drive by to pick up once a week. Outs a great thing they're in South Park and not on my way to work. It's perfectly balanced with jack, cheddar and green chilies. The Double Dip is the same. Deliciously paired fire roasted pepper dip, guacamole and salsa that is a perfect starter. I wanted the Cobb salad but wanted steak. I was able to sub the chicken out for the Thai steak and it was delicious. A nice sized portion of steak and salad, fresh and crisp, absolutely delicious. My husband got the Prime Rib sandwich and said he would definitely order again. I look forward to visiting again and again, for the corn bread and to try all of the other items on the menu. Our server was attentive and professional. We had a great time!

We celebrated our 34th anniversary with a very enjoyable dinner at 131 Main. Our main server was lovely Jessica, and she was so kind and professional. Our meal was outstanding. You must try the cornbread as a starter. It had an amazing flavor! I had steak medallions (they were large) on a bed of mashed potatoes, and my husband had an enormous pork chop. Our meat selections were cooked perfectly and with so much flavor. Save room for dessert and try the key lime pie. We had a wonderful experience and really liked the restaurant very much.

Have been going to 131 Main for over 10 years- I do prefer the Blakeny location in terms of staff service, but consistency is what they are good at so any location works. I love their cocktails and how everything is fresh, NEVER frozen. Dark ambience, very romantic setting.

I am from Maryland but let me tell you this restaurant alone was almost enough to make me wanna relocate to Charlotte! It was a nice restaurant right by my hotel and also right by the mall and plenty of shopping, so the area alone is awesome. Now for the food, each and every single dish we got was delectable, drinks were also good and the dessert was amazing. This spot will now be a staple whenever I come to Charlotte.

Recent went during a business trip and the service was on point and we were well taken of. Everything was cooked perfectly, considering the variety of dishes we ordered. The marinated ribeye was great, cooked to medium rare, and tender. The place was well-maintained and clean.

It's been a few years since I've eaten here and it did not disappoint as usual. There was a 40 min wait but luckily a couple leaving the bar area offered their seats, table was cleaned, and we were greeted immediately! The Cosmopolitan, Dirty Tito, and Classic Margaritas were delicious! I had the Blackened Salmon w/ Asparagus which was So good. I will be back soon!

Located in Southpark, North Carolina, 131 Main, I was hungry and walking so I ducked in. This spot has a rustic charm ambience with big wood beams and leather booths. I had the Tuna Tartare Tower and Crab Cake Salad. The tuna was grade A tuna and the crab cake was lump crab. Both delicious. What stood out was the impeccable service provided by the knowledgeable hostess, who effortlessly recited the specials from memory. It was impressive. Some more highlights include patio firepits and an open kitchen to watch all the action. Great dining experience.

While in Charlotte, this was our dining experience on our final night. Larry, our server was everything you could ask for in a server. He was funny, energetic & knowledgeable. The food was sooooo good too and the ambiance was superb as well.

One of my absolutely favorite spots to grab dinner or lunch. Service is always top notch with a team approach. Never had a bad server! Now for the food, if I had to ding them on anything it would be the app choices, not a very good offering but all other entrees and desserts are just phenomenal. The steaks and fish are fresh and cooked perfectly. The kale and quinoa side is my fav. And save room for the banana pie!

I really enjoyed this place. The atmosphere was great, low lights. The food was delicious and the service was great. Definitely two thumbs up.

2nd time visiting 131 Main & I'll continue coming back while in Charlotte! Had to introduce my friend to the cornbread appetizer for dinner. I had the roasted chicken and she tried the crabcakes. Amy provided great service!

Celebrated my 30th there last night. Service was great, we were sat on time of reservation, the trainee that introduced did great, and the Chase who took over was great (PS: I manage in hospitality and am very judgey, usually reserving yelp reviews for worst of the worst experiences...) Very appreciative of him sending in my little guys food so he could eat early. We love the tuna stack, and cannot go wrong with the filet MR (always cooked right)! I've been here numerous times, and it's tried and true great food and service, and just overall very modern and inviting, with big booths that feel secluded for your smaller groups.

The food was delicious as it always is. Our server Haley was fantastic. She recommended the appetizer that was so good, and the bottle of wine that was perfect!! We enjoyed every bite of our pie, thank you Haley. You made our Anniversary very special

Went here last week for our wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. We did place a reservation ahead of time and they were super nice and friendly throughout the night, they even got us a table towards the back for a little privacy. The staff went above and beyond. Now, for the fireworks....the food was 20/10. Absolutely delicious. I went with the blackened chicken pasta and it was some of the best pasta I've had in Charlotte! My wife had the filet Migon w/ the crab cake and mash potatoes and it was cooked perfectly, hats off to the chef! Overall I highly recommend this wonderful place and go taste this food. 10 stars Also: had deviled eggs and they was delicious. I'm very picky with those and I was very satisfied

I have celiac and although the menu doesn't note which items are gluten free or can be made gluten free, one of the managers came by the table (whose also celiac) to assure me my allergy would be taken seriously and let me know what all items were or could be made GF- including the crab cakes which were amazing! And the fries- incredible!!

this place is fucking stupid. why even put a phone number on the website if nobody even answers the phone?? im trying to call ahead before I arrive with my party to communicate that it's my mothers birthday. Any restaurant fine dining or not that I've ever been to atleast has the courtesy of ANSWERING THE PHONE. if you're going to represent your company as some type of "fine dining" restaurant or even a regular restaurant & want customers to speak highly about their experience then maybe your company should ANSWER THE DAMN PHONE.

Nice place to get food at for lunch! Wide variety on the menu and you can choose something on the lower priced side or higher depending on how you want to dine. I went with a coworker and we got the Green Chile Cornbread with Cheddar cheese. It was delicious, not spicy and very filling. I definitely had leftovers. We also got the cheeseburger which overall was a good burger and a great size. The French fries I was told were really good as well. It was busy when we went but overall quiet. Darker lighting even midday. Service was pretty good although we had to ask for a water refill. I'd recommend it.

This restaurant is right across the street from where I'm staying and super convenient to stop in for a quick bite or something to go. I've gotten the top chop salad several times but branched out tonight and got the Thai steak salad. I have to say that while I think there could have been a little more (based on a $28 salad) and sadly it only had 4 small pieces of steak. However, I have to say it may have been one of the best salads I've had. The dressing and textures were amazing as well as the flavors. Not sure I can ever order anything else from here because I loved it so much!

We eat here about once a week and love it! Not the steak but fish. From their tuna stack to their drought, their ribs they duck are all fabulous.

First restaurant to celebrate my 50th birthday at ! I have. Always loved 131 MAIN! Their service is always exceptional as well as their food. My only suggestion is why ask what anyone is celebrating if you as a restaurant don't go out of your way(such as places like Fahrenheit) to make people feel special / I was even wearing a top that "stated" birthday girl and I had to point when the waitress asked if we were celebrating anything special.. had I not ordered a dessert (paid for it) i would not have received any different service . Just curious @131 MAIN why waste your own time asking ppl . If you want to BE celebrated or expect to by this establishment don't go.

It's way too expensive for the quality and the value of the meal. Very slow service. Servers where very disrespectful.

This my second time dining here, with the other rime being during lunch, and I really like this place. The standard menu is always available amd they have daily specials that the staff will explain to you when you are seated. The staff are very friendly and service is faster than expected with the place being as full as it is. The food is expertly prepared and tastes oh so good. I highly recommend making a reservation on their website in advance so you can be seated at the time of your choosing.

This place is a must try - walked in and was instantly greeted. The vibes were so fun!! The place was super chill and was dim lighting but enough to still see. Our server Jessica was super pleasant and energetic. We got the pasta at our table and it was SO good with a little kick. The food came out super fast and everyone was so nice. Would definitely try another dish here soon!! Highly recommend

Love it when an old faithful place still delivers. Terrific service! Went here for "happy hour" and it was packed! Was lucky to get a table in the bar area. Love the ambiance and decor. Warm and sophisticated but not pretentious. I opted for the crab cake, Brussels sprouts (daily special), and swapped out my fries for their somehow sinful kale & quinoa salad. Sounds healthy. Looks healthy. Taste so goooood. Must. Order. Trust me. Since I was with a friend, we got the warm chocolate brownie à la mode with nuts for dessert. Oh. Em. Gee. Huge portion. Rich and decadent. I could have face planted right into that dish! Good thing I had a somewhat light entree. So busy eating, I only snapped 2 pics. I'll do better next time, people.

Good overall, but (1) ordered a Beck's NA and got a Heineken, (2) highly touted mushroom and artichoke soup was meh. Corn bread is special. That steak salad meat was scrumpuous, as was rare tuna. Wait staff was polite and attentive.

100 percent amazing, can't wait to go back! Perfect steakhouse with incredibly delicious choices. Perfect preparation and meticulous service from the staff.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte! It's cozy, quaint, the food is delicious. I would go as far as to say they have my favorite salad in CLT. The ahi tuna salad is a 10/10 and they have a great dirty martini.
