The 16 Best Bangkok Hotels, From Grande Dames to Converted Canal Homes

"Warm hospitality meets silken luxury at 137 Pillars, which offers 24-hour infinity rooftop swims, breakfast served until 5 p.m., restorative sleep packages, and one of the most adept concierge desks in all of Bangkok. Combining stalwarts in luxury hotel operations like butler service, soaking tubs, massive windows, Italian marble, and fine dining, 137 Pillars also has a warm and fuzzy side thanks to the bright and friendly service. Plus, there’s not a ‘Best Of’ list in the city that this hotel’s opulent wellness program doesn’t land on, with packages that include esoteric modalities like Reiki, as well as deep tissue massages and tamarind body scrubs." - Jenny Adams

The 9 Best Spas in Bangkok

"A departure from its historic sister property in Chiang Mai, the gorgeous 137 Pillars Bangkok epitomizes contemporary design and modern luxury. The boutique hotel soars above the busy streets of the city center and invites visitors into a true oasis; but while the great location, beautifully appointed suites, and gourmet dining may be the initial pull, it’s the hotel’s incredible spa and wellness center that will have you never wanting to leave. Two infinity-edge pools offer sweeping views of the city from the 27th floor and the rooftop, respectively, and a modern, glass-walled gym houses cutting-edge equipment and private yoga and Muay Thai sessions, but the real star of the show here is the Nitra Serenity Centre. The spa, which sits on the 28th floor, offers a wide range of holistic face and body treatments, including both traditional and modern practices. Notable treatments include Reiki and The Sleep by Design Therapy, which is geared towards jet-lagged travelers." - Gabby Shacknai

Came here as part of our honeymoon and we loved our stay here so much! The staff were very professional and polite and treat you like you’re royalty. Every part of the hotel was extremely clean and gorgeous! They have an amazing breakfast on the 26th floor which was delicious. Staff members ‘Fon’ and ‘Bank’ from Baan Borneo Club greeted us each morning and were so kind! They made our experience at this hotel so much better and deserve a raise! |The beds were very comfortable and our room was very spacious. We stayed here for six nights and did not want to leave. It's in close proximity to lots of good restaurants and shopping centres. We will definitely be back to this amazing hotel!

A Perfect Urban Retreat – 5 Stars We stayed at 137 Pillars Residences Bangkok for four nights and it truly ticked all the boxes. The location is ideal—peaceful yet conveniently close to everything. The suite was immaculate, stylish, and thoughtfully equipped with all the comforts of home. Daily housekeeping was flawless, and the staff were consistently warm, professional, and attentive. The infinity pool overlooking the Bangkok skyline was a highlight, as was the rooftop bar with its relaxing atmosphere and exceptional cocktails. Breakfast offered a generous and delicious spread with both local and international options. From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a refined, comfortable, and luxurious stay in Bangkok.

The two starts has been taken off , one is it’s room conditions are relatively old and low maintenance. I changed two rooms due to some lingering smoking odors!! And I was pretty surprised that this is a non-smoking building?? Then why the owner set up an ashtray at the balcony??? Does that mean, this is a non-smoking building but you could do your stuff sneaky way here?? Funny, right ? Overall, the location is good , but it’s relatively old and low maintenance. That’s about it.

I stayed for one night in one of the residence rooms and was really impressed—the room was spacious, well-appointed, and had all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay. The overall service level was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff throughout. Room service was prompt and efficient, though the food itself was average. The highlight was definitely the infinity pool on the 27th floor—great views and a lovely spot to unwind. Dinner at the poolside restaurant was decent, but the cocktail bar left a bit to be desired. Overall, I’d still recommend the hotel for a stay—just consider venturing out if you're after a more elevated cocktail experience.

A Mixed Stay at 137 Pillars Bangkok My recent stay at 137 Pillars Bangkok, booked for two nights, was unfortunately cut short to just one due to a significant issue with the air conditioning. Despite complaining about the malfunctioning unit, the problem persisted, making for an uncomfortable night. On a positive note, the check-in and check-out process was smooth, and the staff were consistently nice and provided good service throughout my brief stay. The hotel clearly once boasted a five-star luxury, and while it's still a pleasant environment, it's evident that the property is quite dated and showing signs of wear and tear. The bed was comfortable, and the price was reasonable for the overall experience. However, the air conditioning issue was a major drawback that ultimately led to my early departure.

We booked the hotel using secret escapes... Let me get to the positiv things first: The hotel is stylish... ( we were staying in the residence rooms not in the suites)..so.the rooms are big nice and not as stylish as the hotel itself. They offer a shuttle service to the nearby mall. They have a nice infinity pool on level 27. The rooftop pool on level 29 plus is only for suite guests. The first night there was a loud ventilation sound from within the hotel which they couldn't solve immediately ( but tried)and they offered us another room.... eventually they found the problem but we were already on the move.....but the new room was loud from outside ( traffic). The next day they offered us another room facing another direction which was more quiet( couldn't they have given it straight away instead of ruining our sleep?) We booked it because we saw the pictures and read the reviews, but are disappointed. Although the hotel is not in the busy sukhumvit area ( where the BTS is) , it is very noisy from the street. The windows are surely not sound proof. We were facing a small but busy intersection with heavy traffic in the morning. Even though it is not located as central as our last Hotel from our past stay( Sofitel sukhumvit) , it is much louder. The next negative thing is that they excluded the residence room guests from the happy hour cocktails, which was not mentioned on check in. This was strange. I cannot recommend a stay here unless u don't mind sleeping on a highway and u don't mind feeling downgraded by exclusion. Secret escapes is not always a good choice to book. And this hotel is not what we expected from the reviews. The staff tried , but the outcome was not satisfying. We felt as if we just chose the wrong hotel or didn't make a good deal booking this one through secret escapes. But it's ok ...u cannot make right choices all.the time.

Our stay at 137 Pillars Suites & Residence was absolutely unforgettable. The hotel is stunning—beautiful architecture, serene atmosphere, and luxurious rooms that feel like a peaceful retreat in the heart of Bangkok. From the moment we checked in, the service was exceptional. The staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly thoughtful, with special thanks to Fasai Petch, who made us feel so well cared for. The two infinity pools are breathtaking, offering peaceful views and the perfect place to relax. Breakfast each morning was amazing—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. What truly set this stay apart was how the team went above and beyond to celebrate a birthday with us. We stopped by the Trading Post for dessert, and when we mentioned whose birthday it was, they surprised us by delivering the dessert to our room—but that wasn’t all. Six staff members came up with it and sang Happy Birthday, thanking us personally for staying at their hotel. It was such a heartfelt and joyful moment. The room itself had been elegantly decorated for the occasion, with thoughtful touches that made it feel personal, warm, and festive. It’s clear that the team at 137 Pillars genuinely cares about creating meaningful and memorable experiences for their guests. If you’re looking for a place that combines top-tier luxury with genuine kindness and hospitality, look no further. We had such a special time here—and we’ll absolutely be back!

Bomb, Biw, Looktran, Au, von, Pink, View, Or, Maihua, new waiter trainee, Ging, Nok, the concierge, and bellman, EVERYONE at this hotel!!!! Yes, the hotel is luxurious and is in the perfect location in Bangkok, however, the people exceeded our expectations. The rooms were very clean and the pool was amazing. The waitresses in the restaurant were extraordinary and Bomb made our pool experience the absolute best! Thank you for an amazing first visit to Bangkok. Biw and Bomb (pool side) are my boos🤩🤩🤩 I am sad to leave Thailand and my new thai family at 137 Pillars, thank you so much
