1418 Coffee - Historic Downtown Plano, TX

The drinks were really good, but it was quite crowded inside and a little overwhelming for me. Thankfully, the wait was still fairly short. With no open seating and the weather too chilly and windy to sit outside, we decided to take our drinks to go. We enjoyed the seasonal coffee and matcha, but this isn’t really the vibe I look for in a café, so I can’t say for certain that I’d return. It was very noisy—my autistic son wore headphones. UPDATE: I appreciate the response! 🙂 Just to clarify, the cashier did not mention the additional seating. When he asked if we wanted drinks "for here or to go," I said we wanted to sit for a minute to plan our next stop, but we didn’t see any seats. He just said, “Yeah, we’re pretty busy,” without mentioning the extra seating. I gave 4 stars. Good drinks, just not exactly my vibe, but I’m not knocking the place. Also, I’m aware of the parking options—I noted both free street parking and the free garage in my original review. Thank you again for responding!

I love coming to this coffee shop whenever I am near. The staff is always pleasant and friendly. I love the lavender latte. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy. There’s always a good amount of people here which is cool to see that others enjoy this place as much as me. They play great, relaxing indie music that is perfect for a coffee shop. I love to read my books and journal while I’m here. It’s a good place to get away from my phone. plenty of comfortable seats and extra seating out back outside. yay for 1418 coffee!!!

I ordered the matcha latte here with a shot of espresso. I have to say it’s 1000 times better than Starbucks. The total was a little over $9. Service is fast, the service is friendly. Atmosphere was rustic like small town vibes (which I love) in Downtown Plano. There are plenty of seating. I came on a Saturday and it was busy! They offer free WiFi. Great for studying, work or even meeting clients. Unfortunately this was the 1 time I forgot to take a photo of my drink. I will definitely be back and try the food next time.

There's a ghostly character sitting out front in October, and a lil'Tramp watches you handle your business in one of the bathrooms but its still a great place! Good coffee, sandwiches, and pastries food and caffeine served by warm, welcoming staff. Typical coffee house vibe with people sitting around on laptops (wifi), tables, others on couches in conversation, nice lighting, tables and chairs outside, wide sidewalk for watching life happen in Plano.

We had an iced beez kneez, iced David mason, and 2 oatmeal cream pies. Super impressed by the coffee taste and quality. Definitely making a trip back for those cookies! It was pretty crowded so we sat outside but the inside atmosphere is very nice and cozy. And baristas were very welcoming.

Amazing little cafe! Their seasonal syrups are AWESOME but their normal Bee's Knees latte is also super yummy!! Their ham and cheese croissant sandwich is the best and I go there just for that often! They also hand whisk their matcha which is great! It's always pretty crowded which makes bigger groups hard, but it's worth it!

I was in town for business in April 2025 and stopped here for a quick meet/greet. I loved the location and the charm it exuded. It is set up nicely with ample seating, but be mindful, it does get crowded. Lots of remote types hanging and working and a few students trying to get in their learning. The atmosphere was just right. The cafe choices of drinks and food equally good and the service was impeccable. Great staff and extremely helpful. Definitely a place to check out in Plano.

I found the coffee and treats to be really enjoyable. The taste was definitely a highlight. They had a great selection of both hot and cold coffees, which I appreciated. In particular, the "Beez Kneez" latte was delicious! And I have to say, the serving staff was very nice, really friendly and helpful. However, I was disappointed by the seating. It looked worn out and wasn't very comfortable, which made it a little less enjoyable to sit and relax. That's why I gave it three stars. While I loved the drinks, snacks, and the friendly staff, the seating situation brought down the overall experience for me.
