From the moment I walked in, I was so happy—the restaurant was absolutely beautiful with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. This is hands down the best soul food I’ve ever had! Every bite was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Allison made the perfect mocktail, the staff was beyond amazing, and the owner was just as incredible. Chef’s kiss! I’ll definitely be coming back!

The Waiter was awesome. 8:30 on Friday night they ONLY had turkey wings , chicken and Hen left (for the night ) . Appetizers were very limited too . Food came and it literally tasted like burned old gravy over the turkey wings . Mac and cheese was sitting there all day , rice was so nasty , not editable at all . The waiter came we asked for the check and she asked why didn’t we touch our food ….. TikTok fooled us . We tried to support black owned BUT they ran outta food on a Friday night . Food apps and Lemonade , oh yeah I was told there was NO CROUTONS for a Caesar salad… it was like what does this nice establishment have ?..

The staff was extremely attentive and pleasant. They made sure our table was as clean as possible and that we enjoyed the food that came out. The food was very refreshing because it is hard to find good and CONSISTENT soul food in Philly. We hope they get a liquor license soon 😉. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff went out of their way to get my friend a bouquet of flowers and a birthday cupcake. We were extremely surprised and overwhelmed with gratefulness for the staff’s consideration of her special day. Thank you 1519 again for your hospitality and we hope you keep it up and become a staple in the city.

We had an amazing time at 1519 very very accommodating experience! The food was amazing the vibes and music !! black owned and very upscale. We went for my sister’s bday dinner: the owner was very understanding in our travels to get there. The food was phenomenal! I had the brussel sprouts , salmon, yams and greens! They even have crystal hot sauce! So good the owner brought my sister and her mother down a bouquet of flowers. He even made sure we truly enjoyed our experience by introducing himself and asking how our night went. I assured him it was one of a kind and we most certainly all will be back. Thanks sooo much to the hostess Nya! A true gem & asset to the team. We will be back for brunch! Thanks to making my sisters day special!

This really hurt my heart to write this review but unfortunately, sometimes you have to get constructive criticism to do better. I have had multiple reservations so hear me out. First confirmed reservation was back in Aug. It took almost a wk to get the confirmation and honestly I had booked other plans giving up on this one for my husbands bday. (advise: go to a normal reservation process. Having to wait to see if you have a reservation is crazy work). When we arrived we were sat right away(maybe a hr after opening on a Sunday). Waiter never came to get drink order or to take food order. We finally waved down the hostess who took our order.(was disappointed that they didn't have strawberry butter for cornbread, big reason why I came in first place) . Food came and was delicious. Check came and was extremely surprised of how cheap everything was.(advise: once you figure out your customer service issue raise your prices(but not before) so you can survive business wise). I have since tried to make reservations twice with no response or success. Today Friday 09/26/25 my friend had reservations at 5pm and when they arrived restaurant is closed all the way down. Please do better I really would like to see you guys succeed.

We had 9 people in our group and everybody loved the food. The turkey wings I had were fantastic you could taste the seasoning which I like the mac and cheese and string beans were great. Others had the fried fish and fried wings, everybody loved the food. The service was great the owner and the young lady helping him were very personable and friendly. Top notch service in my book and hats off to all the chefs you see them when you come in the door. On the way out if you enjoyed the food let them know how good it was chefs work hard and need to be complimented. Support this restaurant you won't regret it.

Went on Friday in June (2025)...The service was attentive & excellent, complimentary glasses of wine were offered, the atmosphere was calm, and the food was delicious.

So i was looking for a quick bite to eat for lunch when i came across 1519. I parked my car and walked into the restaurant and was immediately greeted by the greeter Imani (I believe that’s her name). I ordered the Salmon Melt (I’ve stalked it on IG) lol… But i was amazed at how much Salmon was stuff in between the toasted butter bread with all the works inside (onions,peppers,cheese). The fries were amazing as well! The food was fresh and hot! I washed it down with a cold bottle of water of course because you can never forget a bev lol… Overall it was a 10/10. Will be coming back for a dine in experience for dinner in the near future! Oh PS. that Chef definitely knows what he’s doing!!!
