My family and I would always travel 1 hour and 30 minute for the holidays just to shop at 168 Asian Market. Great variety of fresh vegetable and fruit. Bakery are always fresh and great with variety such as buns and cake. Seafood is there main attraction because they offer what most asian market don't offer which is fresh and large variety of shellfish, fish, and amphibians. I wish they provide large and fresh blue crabs. There are better peking duck in the Sterling Height area. Meat section is great but sometimes over price and not as fresh. Hot pot section is great because they provide wide selection. The noodles are decent price. Ramen are over price. Wide parking. Large number of cashier. Overall great establishment. RIP to Ricky Dong hope your family is doing well.

Google
All my Asian grocery essentials in one place. Great Asian-style bakery, Filipino goods, and kitchen supplies. Their bulk item selection is really impressive (rice, noodles, drinks).

I never thought I would get to experience Ichiran Ramen again...I was wrong! They have the instant version from Ichiran and it is probably the best instant ramen you'll ever have! They have other awesome snacks and a huge frozen section from all over Asian

Google
Large Asian mart, selling all kinds of spices and food. You can easily find Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese and even Filipino products here. They have a bakery too and the breads and cakes are cheap and tasty. You can get fresh seafood here too like lobster, fish, etc. Their food court also sells a variety of roasted meats, soup and rice dishes, all available for dine in or take out. If you spend $100 in one receipt, you should get their membership card that gives you a 2% discount. Recently they brought in the popular mango and peach ice cream and they taste amazing! They're constantly bringing in new products that coincide with events such as mooncakes for the mooncake festivals, decor, Chinese New Year snacks during the Lunar New Year and more. Definitely worth checking out!

On a whim, my bestie and I decided to pop in to 168 Asian Mart, and I am so glad we did! They literally have EVERYTHING! Aisle upon aisle of sauces and herbs and dried mushrooms... sweets and cookies... some of the most beautiful produce I've seen... and variety! So fantastic! Their gadgets aisle is a veritable wonderland of useful and beautiful items. The dipping bowls, Ramen bowls, and other dishware are exquisite. Prices are fantastic! This being our first visit, we didn't purchase any meats or seafood, but they're was a huge variety and it all looked super fresh. Next time! I love that I can find things there that I can't find anywhere else, especially herbs and sauces. FRESH LEMONGRASS!!! Go! You won't be sorry.

Google
All your Asian grocery needs. Small bakery, huge produce selection, and a damned aquarium worth of live seafood. Dry goods, meat is kinda sketchy, but frozen is on point with bulk soup ball varieties. They also have a selection of kitchen utensils and dishes. Oh, and try the hot food. I've had their duck, ginger garlic lobster, and a few other dishes for lunch. None were disappointing. Big portions and reasonably priced!

Google
Great market, Mr.Chimetime recommended. Made to order, customizable Hot Pot soup was delicious and the steamed pork and green onion dumplings were amazing. Authentic and cheap. Can't wait for the next trip, aisle of frozen dim sum to try. Not with Joshy. He's not ready. 😋

My granddaughter and I love to shop there. It is a real treat to discover new, different, and incredible tasting items... Not to mention that they always carry Walnuts for our hamsters, they love them... 🐹❣️

Yelp
We moved from the west side of Michigan and this market is the closest one for us to access (1-1/2 hour drive). We are used to shopping in Grand Rapids. The store is decent in size. Some things are not consistently in stock, but we expected that to a degree. The store is quite clean and does not smell unpleasant (as some markets do because of the seafood that they sell). The only negative is that some of the bok choy had some bugs in it and the dragon fruit had no taste at all. We will continue to frequent 168 Asian Mart until we get a better option.

Vincent L.

Yelp
Looks like they made some small improvements in the store. Majority still the same. You can order seafood online now. Some items are expired so still have to watch out for those. The supermarket is full of items, shelves are stock all the time. Price is cheaper than Walmart overall.

Erik S.

Yelp
In terms of selection, 168 is the best Chinese market in Michigan, and it's not even close. Produce, meats, seafood, pastries, rice, noodles, baozi, sauce/spice, kitchenware, booze, snacks, drinks, etc. We travel here (80 minute drive each way) every couple months for a big shopping trip. One of the coolest features is they have a small cafeteria in the back with a lot of options and decent pricing. At our most recent visit we had: * 热豆浆 (hot soy milk) * 麻辣烫 (spicy soup bowl) * 米线 (rice noodles) * 煎饼果子 (Chinese crepe) Attaching photos to this review. So you can have a nice meal before (or while) you're shopping. Great market. If we lived over here we'd be regulars.

Yelp
Tried the food court for the first time. Two entrees plus rice $8.49. Great deal and no up charge like Panda Express for premium items! I got the fish and shrimp with zucchini. Both very tasty and fresh. I wanted to get a few pieces of the lobster but they require a minimum of one pound ($13.99). Decent amount of seating during an off hour but might be limited seating at lunch.

Ruby P.

Yelp
I'm a visitor to Michigan and a local suggested me to come here for fresher veggies and more affordable prices. She was pretty accurate. I liked it here! First I went to the Food Court (it's at the end of aisle #1, inside the market). I ordered lamb with tortilla and a side of bak choy. The wait time wasn't too long. All food tasted good. Though the tortillas were those regular Mexican ones and I was expecting Chinese ones. Then I walked through almost the entire of the store and found so many items that I barely saw at other Asian grocery stores. Pig blood for example. I'm glad I can finally make pig blood soup that I ate growing up in Taiwan. Glad they have the pickled veg soup mix to go with. Also got Taiwanese crackers and Asian breads and pastry. It's convenient that the bakery shop doesn't have its own checkout area because I'm too lazy to check out twice. Some down sides of this place are that they have a very limited selection of soy milk. Usually the Asian stores would have soy milk of a variety of flavors such as red bean, sesame, matcha and black tea. And this place only has sugar and unsweetened soy milk. Wish they had more flavors. Also I was going to get snow pears since its price was low, but I realized the ones there were actually a different type of pear (sand pear). Be careful and don't get tricked. There is a restroom at the back of the market (on the opposite end of the checkout area). Overall I like this store better than H Mart because it's more affordable and has more unusual variety of goods. However this store is less clean than H Mart and they don't have many ready-to-eat meals/dishes like H Mart. I wish they could have more of these in the future. They do have braised products like braised pork feet in the fridge next to milk and eggs. I would definitely come to here often if I ended up living in this area! There is a famous boba shop in the same block of this place called Tiger Sugar and I got boba from there too. It was a nice day to have good food and Asian groceries from this place and a boba nearby.

Ericka B.

Yelp
This is a pretty robust asian market. The smell stuns you from the door. It's horrible. The entire store has this horrid fish smell. it definitely made me shop quickly and get out! This store has a ton of unique items you don't see often. Prices are in english and decent. The staff is not friendly at all. The person at the seafood counter doesn't say a word just walked over and pointed. The cashier doesn't even make eye contact. The did not speak even after i said hello to them, and nothing after i thanked them.. wow I can say this place won't get my money again. Try them out if you need specialty items.

Mary Z.

Yelp
My family comes here for the cheap vegetables. They have great prices and sales all the time on your Chinese staples like Napa cabbage, yu choy, bitter melon and more. They are constantly restocking their produce on Saturday mornings when it's the busiest. Bakery items are pretty good. Have yet to try their food court. It's usually always packed on the weekends and it's hard to navigate your shopping cart sometimes as there's always people in the way. Compared to Asian grocery stores I've gone to in Markham, Ontario, this does not even meet the same standard of organization and cleanliness; but it's Michigan where the Chinese population is small, so it's better than having no where to go to for your Chinese staples.

Yelp
I was so excited to come here and try the vegan fish option for my hibachi rice. I asked several people who worked there about where the rice was and the vegan shrimp and tofu options nobody wanted to help they directed me to the customer service each time. The girl at customer service couldn't tell me exactly where anything in my list was she just kept asking if I had been there before and if I "make Asian cuisine " , so basically if you aren't Asian or at least have an Asian friend or ally , don't go here. I did appreciate the variety of fruit and veggie offerings however I will try to do my shopping at the new Asian market in Southfield as they may be nicer to me and willing to assist me with finding the key ingredients I'm looking for. Also , the lighting is pretty dark which aggravated me a bit when looking for stuff. It gives if you don't know much about Asian cuisine they won't help you find out

Yelp
Perfect place to buy Asian groceries. I'm from SoCal and I miss having the options of the many Asian groceries there are. I was not disappointed at this store. I've been to H-mart in Troy, but this market beats it. There are more selections to choose from. It is not the prettiest, but it is clean and there are plenty of different choices to chose when you are grocery shopping. There is also a takeout area which we didn't try because we had just had lunch. From the menu they offer there are a lot of traditional dishes with the prices being relatively reasonable. We will try next time we decide to shop there. There is also a section of baked desserts. I grabbed a couple to try since they looked good and were priced fairly. The produce section was well stocked and there was everything you could imagine. I was satisfied with the selection they offered, and everything looked fresh. We went through all the aisles, and we were pleased to find everything that we usually would buy.

Yelp
168 Asian Mart is a fun market to purchase items across the Orient. Stop by the Food Court for an inexpensive lunch or dinner for under $10. The service is quick and friendly! The atmosphere is a marketplace atmosphere, it is clean and quick spot to grab a bite to eat while shopping.

Christal P.

Yelp
168 Asian Mart is one of the largest Chinese supermarkets in the Detroit metro area. The next largest Chinese supermarket is Hua Xing Asia Market in Ypsilanti. There is a wide array of Chinese desserts, spices, oil, and packaged goods at 168. Other Asian food products from Thai, Vietnam, and Korea can also be found here. Although large with many products, the service is poor, and the meat isn't fresh--the meat I bought spoiled quickly. Canned goods and desserts are okay, but I won't buy meat here again, and I won't bother with the seafood.

Erin E.

Yelp
Such an enormous Asian market. They have a delicious food court and a crazy selection of fresh seafood. By far the biggest Asian market I've ever been in. This is the only place I've ever seen fresh still breathing king crab.

Joe S.

Yelp
Great selection of every kind of Asian food. I was I pressed by the quality of the fish varieties in the wet market. Worth a look around just for curiosity sake.

Yelp
I was craving a savory zongzi, having just had one on a recent trip. A zongzi consists of sticky rice with different fillings like fatty pork, green beans, Chinese sausage, chestnuts, dried shrimp, salted egg yolk, etc. wrapped in bamboo leaves before being boiled. The recipe differs based on the preferences of the cook. A sweet version exists (without the add-ins) but the savory version is far better. A friend assured me that 168 Asian Mart sold them so on a recent day off, I was off to find them. 168 Asian Mart is a large grocery store that specializes in foods from the Far East. Fresh produce line the perimeter of the store. A bakery section features a variety of buns and refrigerated cases hold noodles, tofu, and other fresh ingredients. In the center of the store, there are a number of packaged goods - and crispy egg roll cookies - a childhood favorite. I picked up some sweetheart cookies (not as good as the ones that I grew up having), a caterpillar bun (so named because it was long) filled with cream, a yummy coconut bun, and a pineapple custard bun. Since I was tired of cooking, I was more interested in two areas of the store, the ones that sold roasted meats and a take-out/cafeteria area. Whole roast ducks, roast pig, and salted chicken hung behind the Plexiglass shield. They all looked tempting and while my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach, I resisted and only purchased the roast duck and not any of the other items. Within the take-out area, shoppers pointed to the items they wanted while the counterperson filled their containers. I went the other way and ordered from the menu: won tons, braised beef with noodles (choice of rice vermicelli, thick noodles, won ton, udon, or pho), and mini meatball buns. There is a small cafeteria for those who want to eat in; I chose to take my bounty home to feast. Additionally, after roaming the store, I found the zongzhi in a refrigerated case and a mango-flavored mille crepe cake. The latter was significantly less expensive than what I am accustomed to. I have to give the store credit for amassing a variety of products for shoppers who want to cook authentic tasting meals. However, I thought the store was crowded and disorganized in some areas (merchandise was dumped on the floor) and the wait time for the food was inordinately long. Next time, I will know to order the food first before shopping to reduce my wait time.

Yelp
I absolutely love this store! They have such anlarge variety of items from various countries. The best part is that the price label has the item written in English. My husband will definitely have to come with me next time because there was an entire aisle of ramen. My favorite section has to be the candy and snacks. They have some really unique items. Some items I saw and recognized from Japan crates I purchased in the past. There is a food court in the back. You can find the seafood section right next to it. They have a lot od fresh vegetables and fruit (fresh durian too!) We has to stop by the ice cream section to look for my husband's favorite Mochi. I will definitely be back in soon!

Gary B.

Yelp
A huge, crowded Asian food . All Asian foods. Good prices. It smells like fish, a lot, and not a fresh smell. Great prices on soy, noodles, veggies, and large rice bags. It does have a prepared food counter with lots of choices, and a sitting area for eating.

ANDREA F.

Yelp
Yea git yr Asian food makin groove awn! Never a disappointment! Scallions, Asian melons, fun junk food, all the oils and vinegars, fresh fish, frozen air fryer treats! Oh my!

L C.

Yelp
Never getting the BBQ from the booth in the back again. We asked for half a duck and a pound of BBQ pig. We watched the lady cut off a piece of the pig and go cut it, but somehow produced a box while we were looking at other things on the menu and said it was half a duck when we asked. Half a duck is about $17. The box was barely filled and there were barely any meaty pieces. Most of it had bone in the middle and we also got the head and neck, which doesn't have any meat. I always get BBQ from Zhang B-B-Q down the street, but we thought we could save a stop and just get it while we got our other groceries. I've never been given a duck head/neck before. It ruined my mood for Thanksgiving dinner.

Jennifer Z.

Yelp
A total rip-off. A lady cut it and gave it to me. Where was her integrity? This is called half-roasted duck? You can even count how many pieces in there. It used to be a full box. Shame on the lady, shame on 168. Thieves! 半个烤鸭??过去可是一整盒或者一平盒。今天回到家一打开,就这么点。我惊呆了。价格涨了,量直接减半啊。那女的,那168太坑人了。这是直接抢钱啊!真不要脸!

Yelp
Being Chinese myself, although not from China and having barely ever gone there, this place feels authentic. Like, I knew it was a Chinese supermarket right even before I stepped in. If you want to have Asian food at home, I recommend buying all the ingredients from an Asian supermarket as well. Not just because they usually have the more authentic stuff, but also because they are cheaper there. This grocery store can be messy, and some might even find it dirty, and the back near the seafood area smells somewhat fishy--but I personally find these are all the more reasons to love it. It feels authentic. It reminds me of every single legit Asian supermarket I went to. They have a wide range of items from different parts of Asia available--Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Philippians, etc--although it's mostly Chinese. Their produce is cheap, and they have all different kinds of meat cuts and organs, which is awesome because these are the parts you can't really find outside of an Asian supermarket. I personally only got my bokchoy from here. You got a full bag with for less than $2 (as of early 2023), much more affordable than, say, Kroger or Meijer. Their frozen goods and pantry supplies are also pretty good. You can buy rice in bulk. They have a small section where you can buy beans by weight (mung beans, adzuki beans, etc) The price is definitely better than getting Asian ingredients in non-Asian supermarkets. Aside from food items, they sell some Asian kitchenware. In addition, they have a bakery and a small food court. The bakery is perhaps my favorite part of the supermarket. They have all sorts of Chinese bread, and they're cheap. My favorite is the ever-indulgent black sesame bread. The black sesame was fragrant, the bottom of the bread was flaky and buttery, and the yeasty part of the bread was fluffy. If I'm honest, there were times I would have the bread instead of a meal. However, the red bean, the taro bread, and the pork floss roll are pretty good too.

Richard Y.

Yelp
Good variety of Asian goods! There's a restaurant and pharmacy within the market as well.

DB J.

Yelp
Lots of good food to grab. I see a lot of people say that the workers there were unfriendly, but they were very friendly with me. I think it's a great place to go if you are craving certain foods.

Brian V.

Yelp
They have everything you would expect at an Asian Market. Many of their staff speak English too but some do not. Over all it's a great place! A little messy at times but very busy in there. More English signage would make it easier to find things...

Kathy W.

Yelp
Huge selection of fresh, frozen, and shelf-stable goods from several Asian countries. All of the ingredients in my photo can be purchased at this store to create a variety of Asian dishes.

Amanda L.

Yelp
This is my go-to general Asian/Chinese grocery store in the metro Detroit area. I stock up regularly from here on all my essentials in cooking and also always love taking a deep dive into their frozen foods section to stock up my freezer. Whenever I'm too lazy to whip something up myself, I can count on my freezer, which is 90% stocked with items from 168 to quickly heat something to eat typically! I love everything here! I've bought plants here, baked goods (although I'd recommend going to an Asian bakery for this for the best and freshest quality), veggies, meats, spices & sauces, snacks, etc. etc. The list goes on, but you really can't go wrong here! Love it all and can always count on 168 stocking quality, fresh ingredients for you to take home and enjoy. I only wish they would open up more locations in this area so that I wouldn't have to drive 30 minutes here on a weekly basis, but it's sooo worth it to me and I can't go longer than every other week typically without stopping in to stock up again! :)

Ailun H.

Yelp
Note: This review is mainly for the pastries I tried at the baked goods section here. For about $7.50 (5 pastries, each being $1.50), you can get a delicious breakfast for five days. Ever since 168 opened almost a decade ago, it instantly became our family's top choice for groceries because of the large variety of fresh (for the most part) produce that's perfect for our Cantonese taste buds. We love getting our vegetables, meats, and other ingredients here! There's also a seafood market where you can get fresh tilapia, lobster, shrimp, etc. as well as other frozen-imported seafood they have! The pricing is reasonable and the seafood here is delicious. My parents haven't had a bad experience recently, but there's a small, older man with a nasty attitude who is always yelling at and showing impatience towards customers. Other than that, everyone else working there is nice and friendly. Their baked goods section is relatively large and most pastries here are under $2. Now, the quality isn't the best, but you're only paying a buck and a half for each one. They're convenient to grab while you're shopping for groceries (if you're too lazy to go to QQ or Taipan after). Here are my thoughts on some of the pastries: BLACK SESAME BUN - 1.49 Unique and something I'd recommend - bread was quite dry/stale but the black sesame paste is strong with sesame flavor and sweet and goes great with coffee. ROASTED PORK BUN - 1.49 This is a classic. Too much bread for the amount of roast pork, but the bread was tasty nonetheless. Roast pork was flavorful and tender. I'd definitely recommend this. CUSTARD BUN - 1.49 Lots of custard for the amount of bread. It was a bit too much for me, but if that's what you like, you'll love it. Custard was good and creamy, not too sweet. Bread was soft (a bit mushy, but that's fine) and tasty. COCONUT TART - 1.49 There's raisins in this? I like raisins, so I didn't mind. The coconut shavings were crunchy and sweet - not much coconut flavor (more sugar sweet than coconut sweet). TARO BUN - 1.49 Good amount of taro paste in here, and would recommend! Again, good bread too. The filling to bread ratio was perfect for me. They also have a cafeteria here where they sell prepared food and roasted meats. I haven't tried the food here in a long time, so I'll probably have to do that sometime. There's also boba and other drinks, as well - the last time I had it was probably in 2014/2015 so I really can't say much that would be helpful. Overall, 168 is probably the best Chinese grocery store in the Metro Detroit area since they literally have it all - staple groceries/produce, fresh seafood, baked goods, cafeteria food, drinks, and even Asian beauty products!

Kaylee C.

Yelp
A robust international market with a huge selection of food! This is one of the bigger international markets in the area. Primarily Asian food, but you can find some European and middle eastern imports as well. Great selection, fair prices. I'm especially impressed by the large produce selection, I love picking an exotic fruit every time I come! As are most Asian markets: the staff is nice but stand off-ish, it's a bit overwhelming to look at all the product, the parking lot has seen better days, and it's about as clean as a Walmart (so could be better, could be worse).

Lenin H.

Yelp
They have alot of good stuff , they have all kind of vegetables and fruits from all over the world, they have alot of Sea food that other stores doesn't have it. Alot of international good products.

George A.

Yelp
If you're into Asian food this is a must try everything from their fresh meat and seafood is fantastic noodles galore give it a try.

Shunda B.

Yelp
My BF and I decided to go exploring to Asian market for the 1st. First let me tell you - you're going to hit with a strong smell that doesn't vibe with you (well it didn't for us) If you're not looking for a specific item then this place will surely be overwhelming and space is sure tight. I would suggest not using a cart if you can hold them all because it's a cart battle trying to get through. The positive note - they have the best damn dumplings and a huge variety; BF loves them and wanted to get a specific brand he found on a YouTube channel. So if youre feeling adventurous - just enter with caution. Happy Eating!!!

Yelp
The world has changed, and few places understand that better than 168 Asian Mart. When you walk in the door, they hand you disposable gloves. There is a gate you have to pass through that automatically opens when you approach it, but it prevents people from exiting that way when you're trying to enter. I've been here many many times, but not since the pandemic hit us. It looks like everything here is largely as it was before, which is great news. The first thing you need to understand is that this is more than just a grocery store. There is a section with restaurant supply equipment. There is also a café serving up excellent Asian food in quick order. There are also various household items, and a significant section for masks, face shields, and other PPE. I can see spending a good chunk of the day here, which is usually what happens when I come here. As far as the market goes, they have everything you would expect in a western grocery store, but with things you simply can't get at Kroger: ginkgo, durian, lotus root... there's not enough room to mention all the amazing things you can find here. There are a dizzying array of different types of mushrooms, for example. They have jackfruit for $6.99 a pound, cleaned and packaged for your convenience. Good luck finding a lot of these things at even a high-end market like Nino Salvaggio's. The awesome thing is about, if you are building an authentic Asian recipe, you really don't need to call ahead to see if they have the ingredients you need. I can tell you right now: they have it. Whatever it is. Thai basil? That's an easy one. Enoki mushrooms? Check. Durian? You want to make something with Durian? OK. They have that, too. As I mentioned earlier, this is a place where you can lose a lot of time. Don't come here thinking you can run in and grab one thing and leave. You are certain to find things you didn't expect here, and possibly never even knew existed. Another important thing to know is that, even though everything here is as authentic as the best Asian market you've ever visited, what they have is also very accessible. You don't have to worry about buying something with a label you can't read and not knowing what's inside. The shelves always have an English translation. My pictures don't do the massive size of the market justice. There are isles devoted to Thai, Korean, and other Asian national ingredients. There are also each a gigantic number of snack foods with adorable packaging. There is a significant selection of sake, Plum wine, and other alcoholic beverages. This is not exactly close to my house, but it is always worth the drive.

Anne G.

Yelp
As an Asian woman, I have always bought my groceries from 168 (there is not a big choice of places to go). However, after the racism my caucasian husband received on his trip there without me, I will not be shopping there again. He called me upset and hurt, and rightfully so. That reason will join the long list of complaints: smells like sewage, has dirty and unorganised shelving, has tampered BB and UB dates, awful staff. I would not recommend spending your money there, unless you like marinating yourself in hot garbage air and having racism thrown at you. Regards, A seriously pissed off wife. Ps. if I could give them 0 stars I would.

Stephanie A.

Yelp
I simply love this place. I love Filipino foods. I am with my friends from work all the time and they have taken me into there kitchen and childhoods. I cook these foods daily and my daughter loves them. They are not expensive and they sale other Asian foods from around the world. When you in the neighborhood stop in. Oh yea they have a small restaurant inside YUMMY!!!

I came here to get some stuff for Szechuan recipe I'm trying. And WOW, this place has more than everything. Anything you need relating to Asia (besides India) you'll find here. I found every single unique item I needed & more! It cost me 81.00, but we'll be eating Asian food for a while! I'll be back to explore more in a month when I finish all my products!

Yelp
Huge selection of groceries. There's a food court & Butcher area. I hate how busy it is on the weekend but love the variety of items they have. A lot of fresh fruits & veggies priced reasonably. I like getting my meat here since it's usually fresh, you can also get fresh seafood. Lines can be long sometimes, but so wroth it.

Yelp
This market is a 40 mile drive for me. It's very worth going to. I really enjoy Asian food and cooking it. The market has a large bakery, Chinese restaurant, a fresh seafood counter that is the biggest I have seen in this area, a very large selection of produce from around Asia, a meat counter, a large amount of frozen goods and groceries. When you go to a service counter you expect to either form a line or take turns with other folks when its time to be served. Folks from some Asian countries don't have this concept. It is just me first. Understand it is not rudeness. Its their culture. So just speak up for yourself.

Yelp
This place has been going steadily downhill for me. First, they have animal issues inside this store. A few months ago, I saw a bird flying in the store. Seemed like no one was bothered to take care of it. Second, last week I went to this store and... I saw a mouse/rat run so fast before my eyes could blink.. I seriously think they need to do something about this issue because if I saw one.. I wonder how many more are running around the store. I hate to be the Karen, but this IS a health violation. I hope the owner does something about this because I'd hate to report it. I'm just looking out for my fellow human beings.

Yelp
They have almost everything you need here but some of the employees here are rude. I've never been able to find a employee for help. I rarely shop here but when I do it's because they have what I need and it's close to my house. I like that they have a bakery and food court inside so when I do go I always order my favorite Taro Boba smoothie. Update: They got rid of the Boba cafe inside and left the bakery and restaurant open.

Yelp
We make the trip, from 3 hours away, 2-3 x a year to stock up. The varieties and selections are amazing! As are the prices! It's well worth the time and effort to get there. If you don't like the smell of old fish, don't go. The place could benefit from shutting down for a week and doing a deep cleaning. Especially the bathrooms! The staff is normally somewhat helpful. This last time, a week ago, not so much. I was looking for oolong tea and was told they didn't have that. Huh. Lo and behold...I found it myself. My suggestion...realize you're going to spend a lot of time browsing! You'll have to spend time reading the shelf tags to know what you're buying or, like us, you can look it up on your phone...so definitely remember to take one. We take Clorox wipes, wipe everything down before loading into our own bags in the car. Otherwise, the smell of the store will permeate everything! The plastic bags they use, which stink to high heaven, go in the trash or recycling bin. It's definitely worth the extra work, though! We look forward to our next shopping trip.

Yelp
Tons of free parking. Accepts cash, credit card and cash. Located in a large shopping center. The grocery store is HUGE with tons of Asian grocery items. The store itself is pretty clean. From fresh produce, meats, seafood, ice cream, spices for the pantry, and fruits. This grocery store seems to have it all. The grocery store also has a fresh bakery, bubble tea stand and a large food court. The food court has tons of food options similar to the selections you find in New York Chinatown. The pricing here is very reasonable and comparable to other grocery shops. Please note that the seafood area is extremely seafood smell. They also sell exotic foods such as durian here too. The people who work here appear friendly and nice. If you need to get groceries, this place is pretty decent. If you expect organic produce, you might need to look elsewhere.

Yelp
This was my second time here today and we were just coming for bubble tea. The bubble tea has a bit of a variety and you can even get lychee jellies instead of boba. The first time I came here I was looking specifically for honey butter chips and they unfortunately did not have them. Ended up getting a couple of other snacky items which were good though. I just noticed today that they have bakery items like Tai Pan has down the street and I'll definitely be coming back at some point to try those. They looked a tiny bit pricier than Tai Pan but still very reasonable, like $1.35 each. Other than the bubble tea, they have a plethora of Asian snacks and foods and even frozen foods and produce.

Yelp
This is such a great market. I love shopping here to purchase items I can't get at my neighborhood grocery store. I also appreciate the wide selection of snacks and poppin cookin that my kids crave. Otherwise we would have to order them online which can sometimes take a month or more for delivery. This way we don't have to wonder about the freshness of the products and can get them immediately. Today I came in for some halo halo, buns, smoothies, snacks, and toys. The halo halo was amazing. The cookies and cream smoothie was absolutely delicious! Each kid needed one. The bun selection was on point, so many to choose from, and very affordable. They were very fresh and being replenished often. They had a nice variety of specialty Lays you can't find at most stores. Can't wait to try them. I like their frozen selection. The food court has a nice variety. I haven't had a chance to try the food yet, but I'm sure we'll return soon to order some.

Yelp
Everything Asian that you need is here! Fair prices and fun to shop. I live a few hours away so I took large coolers and frozen things were fine when I got home.

Yelp
Great produce at good prices however we have been coming since they opened. Over the past 3 years the seafood counter workers have become extemely unpleasant. Yelling and insulting my elderly mother and father and having attitudes for fair requests (i.e white tilapia vs black), claiming to only have huge lobsters with a smaller tank they refuse to touch. Its a shame there arent many other places that can match the quality because but the customer service thats an issue here. Hire someone who isnt miserable at work and takes it out on the public. im not the only one that thinks so. i see the two seafood dept guys treat a ton of people this way. done let that be normalized. get different help back there.

Yelp
So many food options. Reminds me of home. It is a very traditional Asian market so the systems are definitely outdated compared to a Walmart but the staff are quick and gets things moving in a timely matter.

Yelp
When my friend suggested we get lunch at 168, I was a little skeptical. But she insisted their lobster was amazing. It was a little crazy to get the lobster. They have it pre prepared at the food court, but it's not as fresh and it's luck of the draw as to what pieces you get. So you go to the seafood counter and get your lobster or crab or scallops or whatever. You take it to the front to pay for it and then you take it back to the food court. They will cook it for you for an additional fee. We got cooking option #3 which was a spicy sauce and cost $3.50 per pound. We also got some other stuff to tide us over until the lobster was cooked. The buns, noodles, and eggplant were very good! I would come back just for them, but the lobster was the true star of the show! I can't wait to go back and get scallops next time! If you want a pro tip, bring gloves to help keep your hands clean and grab some bags to hold your garbage as you eat. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because they should revamp the system so that you don't have to go to the front to pay for the live seafood if they already have a cash register at the food court. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
I LOVE 168 Asian Market! I don't even remember how I found it, maybe out shopping one day and decided to wonder in. As soon as I walked in I was met with an inviting sweet smell...so I followed it to the bakery section where they had various varieties of freshly baked sweet and savory breads. Needless to say, I brought like 4 different varieties from coconut, taro and sesame and chives. They were all so soft and delicious whether you eat them warned up or greedly right out of the bag! There's something for EVERYONE here. I do have my usual favorites that I always come to buy, but I always explore and find something new to try every single visit. If you're a seafoodie you'll fall in love as there's live, fresh selections that literally take up the entire back of the store! They even have a little restaurant in the back with ready to order food choices (haven't checked that out yet, but I definitely plan to soon). You can even buy cookware here, saki sets...saki! so many different varieties of saki (i'm like halfway through trying all of them from filtered to Nigori. It's a tough job but I do it for Yelp! lol). I get potstickers, candy, ginger tea (in the packets which makes it so much easier if you don't have time to peel and steep ginger root). I could go on and on, but I'll just say do yourself a favor and take some time to explore this market. I guarantee you'll find something you like.

Yelp
We love this store for the wide variety of Asian products and fresh vegetables. We also used to enjoy the soup and prepared food counter. However, lately it has been so unfriendly that we won't be back. In fact, we had planned on buying 6 lobsters for Mother's Day. But when we heard that you have to deal with the woman at the soup counter to have them steamed, we changed our minds. Not interested in having her yell across the store at me ever again. It's unfortunate because in the past everyone there was friendly and helpful.
