Located in the ultra long strip mall between Valley View and Wynn, parking can be a precarious situation as all the businesses in this plaza essentially share the same parking lot. Be ready during rushes.
With so many AYCE KBBQ restaurants dotting Spring Mountain, there's not a shortage of options. You are, after all, in Chinatown. The grand menagerie of Asian cuisine. So the competition is fierce and stars are more discerning.
I wanted to like HANU KOREAN BBQ. There wasn't much of a wait. Service was great -- our waitress was informative, our grills changed, water pitcher refilled, and plates constantly getting picked up.
However, it was uncomfortably hot inside when we stopped in for dinner. I'm not sure if the ventilation wasn't working or maybe their A/C was in disrepair. (They had a few swamp cooler types running, but our table had no relief.)
Our waitress informed us that the BANCHAN, all sauces, and other sides like salad have recently switched to a SELF-SERVE station. This can be a good thing for some, but personally, if I go to a restaurant and expected to tip, I prefer to have my food brought out to me.
I did like that they offer three tiers of AYCE: A $27.95, B $33.95, and C $41.95. Usually we just get the very basic to get the staples of brisket and bulgogi satisfied. I also got their SPICY TOFU SOUP, which is on the smaller side. The STEAMED EGG actually has shrimp bits in it as an employee told us.
Okay experience overall. Like I said, there are simply way too many KBBQ spots to choose from, so HANU doesn't necessarily rank on top for me.
