Google
Great selection of beers, spirits, and alcohol. Nice hot and ready meals too, they have lu rou fun

Peter N.

Google
Good supermarket with majority of goods geared towards local Mandarin, Viet, and Cantonese speaking customers. Except for some local vegetables and fruits, much of the items are imported.

Thaum “Tom” P.

I bought a bag a baby carrots there and it gave me food poisoning. I had to spend the day in the emergency room. Their employees are incredibly RUDE! They are mostly Asian, and either they ignore you flat out, or they say something you can't understand and then walk off even though you are still talking to them. This happened four times.

bobo F.

Google
Check your receipt!!! The cashier used my young son’s debt card to ring up a whole bunch of other items where my son only have one bag of orange. My son is in the habit of not checking receipts so he didn’t know. Anyway we spent a halt hour to get the refund. I hope it was not intentional but the other charges were not all before or after the oranges. They did not offer any explanation on the discharges.

Brian T.

Google
Fresh fish meat and plenty of variety of fruits and vegetables. Reasonable price. Ready to eat food is good price too. Clean and orderly.

Cristal V.

Google
I usually go buy crab and steam it there for free as a complimentary service but now they charge your $20 more to steam. And they don’t want to under you when you speak for some reason and just brush you off.

Rachel Y.

Google
Terrible company! You choose products to get promotional offers! But does not include service! What’s the point! Usually when you buy fish you clean it up, but you choose to discount and add $1per LB to help clean the fish? So it‘s cheating consumers?

Ling Z.

Google
The massage is very good. There are Asian massagers and Latina massagers. They are all very nice and relaxing, and they are worth recommending!

Yelp
Nice to see all sorts of mushrooms available and fully stocked. Organic produce are also available.

Yelp
I love shopping at both 168 Markets in this area. The decently priced AND quality of fruit is what keeps me coming back to this market. I've also bought meat from here and it was fresh and good quality. The place is extremely clean like an Albertson's, but items are priced cheaper like most other Asian markets in the area. Parking is plenty, even at peak hours since it's located on a very large lot. The building may be old looking on the outside but the inside is really nice and clean.

Yelp
168 Market has been in Alhambra for many many years. I still remember as a young child coming here with my parents. That's over 40+ years ago. Yep, I am an old adult now LOL. Whenever I see this 168 Market, I would always say, "What humongous parking lot it has!". Yes, it's huge! You see more of the parking lot than the building itself. Of course, it's shared with the other businesses around it. It's just like any other supermarkets with its fresh produce, good quality meats, variety of deli food items, and misc sections. I didn't do any shopping during my recent visit. But got a chance to walk around it perimeters. It has a unique exterior almost like an old western style saloon look. Funny, there is also a CVS Pharmacy in the same shopping center which I find slightly out of place IMHO. Anyway, it was nice to reminisce the good old times.

Yelp
8/14/29025 look at the picture. Do you see mushroom? A very little mushroom If you open thats the way you see some mushroom some are hard to chew. They are selling today.

Joanna T.

Yelp
These people are Scammers! Do not buy the roast duck in this location I picked a nice duck, and the woman changed it to another duck that was burnt and barely had any meat and cut it for me, it was like the duck had been reheated for many days. All the meat has shrunk. They hang the nice one in there and will sell you the bad one. I didn't know she switched the duck until I got home. I will never go back there.
google avatar

Justine R.

Yelp
Only been here once so that's why I only put 3 stars in always fascinated/ interested in trying new things (food) etc.. as soon as I walked in they had fresh rotisserie duck just hanging by the neck I thought it was cool never seen that before there food was top notch 10/10 they had the biggest jackfruit I've ever seen in my life what brought me to the store was ice cream I provided a picture! The ambiance was giving very much welcoming even the lady at the cashier was nice and understanding we accidentally dropped our ice cream box and it opened and she told us to go replace it but we didn't because nothing was wrong with it, but that was very nice of her

Yelp
This place was crowded on a late Saturday afternoon. I enjoy exploring at this store. They have three aisles devoted to candy and snacks. And also a big bin section at the far right near the dishes and household products, there you'll find more boxed cookies and snacks. I always find my ginger chews here...straight up ginger, also ginger with mango, and ginger with pineapple ...the chews I think are helpful for motion sickness nausea, but it's a candy!! I also discovered they have a wide selection of hot pot meats. I didn't buy any but they were all in one place in an aisle frig...lamb, ribeye, pork belly...also a good variety of tofu.. at reasonable price unlike at American grocery stores. I caution about the meat products...mom bought a chicken to make a soy sauce chicken, but when she unwrapped it, it was spoiled. She'll take it back, but don't know yet if they will reimburse her. They have a store card, and it gives good discounts in general...and a few times I've been here, there gave been giveaways for cardholders, so I've gotten free items at the register, but not today. I really like the bin nut and tea kiosk located as you enter the store. They have good service, they give samples, I like getting my dried plum treats here. it's about $14 for a half pound, worth it for the quality...also the delicious baked candied pecans, super yummy. I usually stop by there on the way out the store. Also before. Leaving I like to check out the bakery and deli...as a cardholder, you get a deli/bakery discount but you have to mention your store membership.

Yelp
My go-to Asian grocery store! It's primarily a Chinese grocery store, but I'm able to find a lot of Vietnamese, Japanese, and Korean ingredients for the dishes I'm making. My favorite parts of the store: - cleanliness: it is so clean in there! Meat and seafood section don't smell like other stores in the area. - veggies on sale: without sales, I find the veggies are cheaper than 99 Ranch, H-Mart, and American grocery stores. However, they always have manager special sales on mushrooms and leafy greens which I always buy. - hotpot fishball section: they have a self-scoop fish all section like at 99 Ranch and H-Mart, but I notice there's no ice that indicates the balls have been defrosted and refrozen. I always look out for that as a sign of quality storage. - free item at checkout: if you spend $30+, they usually give a free item. I've gotten boba packets, rice paper, dried noodles, and hotpot soup base. - parking lot is massive! Cons: - long lines: the cash registers are always slow and leads to long lines - butchers are meh: they just never scoop the amount I ask for - always too little or too much - aggressive kiosk ladies when you're leaving: there's a Vua Kho Bo kiosk selling Vietnamese and Chinese dried fruits, seeds, and jerky. The ladies working there are so aggressive in making sales that it's annoying sometimes. 168 is not the largest market, but its the most convenient, clean, and cheap in the area. I love popping in here several times a week!

Yelp
Could only speak on the hot deli as I did not get any groceries from the market. Most delicious and juicy shrimp balls ever. Ate all 4 pieces in the car because I was starving. I also ordered the crispy pork, and kung pao chicken, which was essentially fried pop corn chicken. Both were very crispy but average flavor-wise. If I'm in the area again, will stop by for shrimp balls. Very nice and friendly cashier. Hot deli and fresh bakery in same area by left entrance
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
I came here to buy sweet rice to make my own Chinese zong zi. It wasn't that expensive. They have a lot of varieties of produce, seafood, meat, and other products. Service is okay. Place is clean.

Yelp
Membership services are obsolete and user unfriendly. I was trying to redeem the points today. But, the cashier said the card is not my name. I told the cashier it is under my wife's name. She said no she can't redeem those points. The cashier insisted on it has to be the person whose name is in the membership card.

Nich S.

Yelp
I can't give 0 star Today I feel disappointed I always spend alots of money every time I went shopping there .. today I bought 6 lobster (alive ) but look at this one they mix for me so bad .. cheat on customers who support ur business it not right !
google avatar

Clara C.

Yelp
Sometimes I come here if I can't find something at 99 Ranch. Their prices are generally cheaper. There is a coffee grinder here! Go to customer service and someone will do it for you. There is plentyyyyy of parking. I have never seen it full.

CK T.

Yelp
Bought two young coconuts from 168 Market alhambra today and it tasted like water and the meats inside were pink - so it's actually almost spoilt and not eatable. They were from Vietnam and the local importer is Max Group Corp of City of Industry. Please let the seller know not to import such poor quality products. Will stick with Thailand export which so far no problem.

Michael R.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars, I would. The service here is downright atrocious. We were treated with complete disrespect and suspicion after we had already made a purchase. While simply waiting for our paid roasted duck--bag in hand with the store's logo--we were accused of stealing. Seriously? I had to dig out my receipt and prove that I wasn't stealing. Unbelievable. As if that humiliation wasn't enough, while still waiting for our whole roasted duck, they went ahead and served the person behind us who ordered just half a duck. Are you kidding me? That's not just unfair--it's completely unacceptable. We were left standing there, disrespected and ignored, while someone else who ordered less got priority. This place has no sense of customer service, no accountability, and clearly no idea how to treat people with basic human decency. Avoid at all costs.

Yelp
Nice variety of fresh produce. Seafood section is not super smelly like other markets. The Bakery section has its own checkout and offers a good selection of fast pre-packaged ready to eat foods and pastries. The Restrooms are easy to find (next to seafood section) And there's always plenty of parking.
google avatar

Kit K.

Yelp
Today was my first visit and I was really surprised at the selection. They had a ton of seafood, most of it live or out in the open on ice for selection. I did not come in here searching for anything in specific, but I walked out with a bunch of stuff. The ramen selection is massive and well-price in my opinion. They also had lots of food samples. I tried some ramen and some dumplings, I ended up waking away with a package for each! The sample people were also just really sweet and inviting. They showed us different options and tips on how to cook the food. I also tried some egg potato chips and shrimp chips, both very good! They also offered different Kit-Kat flavors such as green tea and strawberry. Definitely check this place out if you're around.

Yelp
Review for the seafood department. Tl;dr I felt like a non Korean person trying to get service at a Korean joint in ktown in the 90s Horrible service and disrespectful communication from the old China man with glasses. I get there may have been a language barrier but I ordered a crab to be steamed. I asked him how long will it take he says twenty minutes. So I was like bet okay. I goto checkout to run an errand at CVS and I come back in 26 minutes. He starts yelling at me about I need to come back after fifteen minutes. Huh??? I asked him you told me to come back in twenty minutes, he said fifteen? Respectfully. When did he say fifteen? And why is my crab not steamed? I was cordial and respectful, I'm asking him questions he half understands he starts getting angry? And he just throws an old man tantrum when I'm trying to clarify what happened and how the process was. His English was too broken to understand or for him to understand. Will not be coming to this market for seafood service as a non Chinese speaker because obviously he's frustrated I can't understand him but damn shouldn't I be throwing the tantrum? Rude service for non Chinese speakers and super disappointed.

Yelp
Went here for the exotic cultural snacks ended up picking up a few extra things . There's a wide selections of meats, seafood, and drinks that you cant normally get in a supermarket, lots of yummy asian foods!

Yelp
Most people shop here for convenience. It's the neighborhood market. However, if you are not from around here, be careful as this market sneaky and unethical. They sell really old things and repackage old things to make it look new. Also their displays and pricing are tricky! Check out the picture below: the cans of butane were all packaged together and not displayed as single cans but priced at $1.99 a can. A not so saavy shopper would have to pay $8.00 for Each pack for cans. --- so this is one example of their sneaky pricing methods to gouge you.

Yelp
Well it's your typical parking lot in SGV where you might get hit but you might get lucky and find a spot right up front. Large variety and lots of seafood. They have good deals occasionally as well if you check the weekly flyers. I find the store fairly well kept. Lots of frozen items and dried items for your cooking needs. This Asian market should definitely be on the grocery run list.

Christina T.

Yelp
Giving one star for the amount of cigarette smoke I smelled in there!!! This place REEKS of cigarette smell that it felt like I just stepped into a casino in Vegas. It wasn't a pleasant shopping experience because of the smell throughout the store. Management, PLEASE PLEASE tell your employees to not smoke near the doors or at all. I'm sure it's coming from the old men in the meat/seafood department. Seriously, get that checked...I love coming here, but the smell is so off-putting. It's also a health risk to everyone shopping. There are kids in there and I brought my 8 month old with me today. This is not a safe environment for your paying customers. Secondhand smoke is real and is harmful! These old men don't care and are literally chain smoking with each other back there.
google avatar

Maruko X.

Yelp
This grocery store shares the parking lot with CVS, plenty spots available, the traffic here was low and not so many customers inside, it carries decent variety of produce, vegetables and fruits etc., though location-wise not as convenient as other more popular brand.

Yelp
This! Place! Is! The! Best! Got a bunch of snacks, gluten free ponzu (finally!), the salmon selection looked amazing, and they have whole or ground duck!! I need to come back to try the milk tea mixes/drinks, as well as the sweet steamed buns! They also have my delicious Stella nonalc drink that i'm addicted to. Its a spacious market and the labels are in english as well.

Yelp
I'm not Chinese. Get a club card and you will get $1 off after you spend $2000 ~ yes, 2 grand..not kidding ~ the paper form is like a passport application ~hehe ~ yet, it feels amazing carrying the card and swiping it. It prolly means you know their methods~ hehe ~ I come here for the fruit which sometimes spoils too fast and the Beijing plain yogurt. Try the most expensive apples. Frozen durian box for $14 is the bomb! Amazing! My problem is I chit chat too much and slow down the line because I don't speak Chinese and they are trying to tell me something or sell me a bag but I ask for a box instead (like Costco) and there is no charge. You have to check in your backpack but not my murse at the door. The seaweed on the way out is ok quality. Get a bag of 10 as you're going in. It's about $8 The fruit is scattered all over. The priciest are placed front and center whilst you have to look for the less expensive kind. I'm hooked on their top notch apples even though one single small apple could cost like $4. For instance, you can get the Korean pear in a three pack wrapped at lower price than buying per pound. I purchased the pound one and it rotted in a few days. I bought again and found three center was blackish. The cashier told me the expensive apple is from Korea. Hey, the Red Hot Chili Peppers in a bungled wrapped case are really, really hot ~ omg! I love them. I get my kimchi here too. The pickles: They have Vietnamese variety. The baby pickles in a vinegar jar look funny like a worm but now I'm hooked. Also the pickled baby lotus roots are great. I don't know how to choose seafood or the meat. So, I think Hawaiian market is more booming for that.

Yelp
I love 168 but this location is not great. They are located in a terrible plaza. Parking in this plaza is cramped and the layout is horrible. Smaller then the 168 I usually go to. Pricing is decent here but the selection is limited.
google avatar

Jame N.

Yelp
One of chain Asian supermarket I go shop for groceries especially this location. I found most my items here. From live seafood to hair dye. Larger variety items n isles setting is not tight as other places. Huge parking lot n many carts but start to worn out. Location is next to Vietnamese restaurants, boba drink n Rite Aid. New build small clothing store front of cashier station. Bakery inside left entrance

Yelp
Pretty cool supermarket it was around the corner from my family condo so we decided to stop by before we start exploring some more places. everything we needed all in one market reasonable price for seafood and fruits. Abundant of options from snacks to everyday foods.
google avatar

Yelp
Has all the ingredients I needed to recreate traditional dishes on tik tok. Everything is neatly organized and priced. The shop was clean and the staff was busy working, keeping the store stocked up. The deli had a hard time understanding me (English) but it's fine. Its ok. Very much like in Hispanic supermarkets, everyone usually only speaks spanish. I am putting this information out so that if you ONLY speak English and Need assistance, that you are RESPECTFUL and MINDFUL of the employees and culture. Have patience. My experience was great . I googled items I had trouble finding and searched for them based on the packaging photos that came up in the Google search. The Deli people got me set up but I am mindful of the language barrier and leave my negativity at the door. I really like this place!!!

David I.

Yelp
This is one of the cleaner asian markets out there. When I say clean, it's not Albertson's clean, but rather clean for an asian market. The exterior looks like an old western front which is kind of cool. The aisles are arranged pretty well with all fruits and vegetables at the entrance and the meat/fish department on the back wall. The aisles are really organized with the prepackaged food first, followed by household goods and then the refrigerated section towards the back. I shop this store from time to time, but I mainly go to their small dim sum section at the entrance. It's kind of a little dim sum place and pre-cooked duck/chicken place. It's actually very convenient especially if you aren't a big fan of crowded asian bbq places. The food is actually quite good. It's kind of funny that when I speak Cantonese to the lady she had no idea what I'm asking for but whenever another Cantonese speaking customer orders the same item I ask for she understands them completely. This is the only place I've been to that actually calls Chinese donuts crullers. Never heard of that before and when watching Wayne's Worlds I found out that that word actually exists. Pretty funny. Overall the market part of the place is just your standard Asian market. The winner here is the quick service dim sum place. Someday I'll get that membership card they keep asking me about.
google avatar

Aaron V.

Yelp
Don't buy their durian, I spent $65. Non refundable means even if bad inside they they give you back your money.

Betty K.

Yelp
I am writing this review directed to the manager. Please give my thanks and comments to your staff especially those at the deli/bakery area! Every time I go there, they are very friendly and greet me with a smile and appreciation! I used to go to another 168 market closer to home, until some staff said something not to my liking! The first time I visited your store, I was delighted to find not only a deli with fresh pastries, but also a few dim sum selections and bbq! I like to visit a number of stores including western markets like Trader Joe's! Just like Trader Joe's, your staff are very friendly and helpful! There's no name on the receipt, I checked out at 10:54:32 with a total of $26.04 at the deli! The lady was very polite! Thanks! It's a great start to a beautiful Sunday!
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
NOT ECO FRIENDLY AT ALL. All the veggies and fruits are completely wrapped in plastic. You aren't given the chance to bring your own mesh bags.
google avatar

Peetee T.

Yelp
Been going to this store to pick up exotic fruits thinking that this place is great because the convenience. Only to find out they are making extra money off everybody. All asian markets carry the same produce pretty much, but only to find out they are charging you different. Why? When you are buying anything from the produce aisle... PLEASE watch the the scales!!! The scales are not calibrated the same. Brought the attention to a store supervisor and he says that it's no big deal. The scale is off .07 pounds. Disappointed with this store.
google avatar

Yang Z.

Yelp
Asian market , I can find most food in China. If you not picky about the customer's service, the food is all good
google avatar

H G.

Yelp
I was charged for 6.35 lbs of tomatoes yet I only have 2.95 lbs. I was char for 4.35lbs of carrots yet I only have 1.95 lbs. You might think no big deal but the tomatoes are $4.35 a lbs and carrots are 89 cents a lbs. I can't do math that well but I'm looking at 12 to 14 dollars on just those 2 items. Let's just address the dishonesty now. if you have to steal from your customers maybe it's time to rethink your purpose on this planet.
google avatar

Kenneth L.

Yelp
Come here weekly for grocery shopping. My wife buys all the vegetables, meat and fish to prepare our weekly lunches. Produce prices are seasonal sometimes really low and very high. Goes up and from week to week. Great selection of instant noodles and ethnic snacks. Prices are lower than Ralphs, Albertsons, Vons. Be prepared to bag your own groceries, the cashiers are lazy as fuck and there's no dedicated bag person for each cashier. Unlike American supermarkets where the cashier bags your stuff as soon as they scan the prices. A Big Minus 2 Stars.
google avatar

Frank H.

Yelp
We have been to this store more times than I remember. I am updating this review, and docking one star because the restroom is always so dirty. I was in there yesterday at about 12:30 PM and the whole restroom smelled of urine. If this is offensive to me as a customer who comes to shop for an hour a week , doesn't it offend the people who work here? The rest of the store is OK, but when we roll in from Bakersfield we have driven 124 miles so we need to use the restrooms. Vegetables are good, the price and variety is better than what we have at home. The seafood, fresh, frozen or live - also better than available in our town. This store has all the food we need to run our household. I am not sure how the prices compare. But the isles are wide, most of the store is clean, and when they are busy they will open up more registers. Management, if you read this, please have the restrooms taken care of. They are a blight in an otherwise good store.

Yelp
My significant other and I were roaming around Alhambra area in several grocery stores for food inspiration ideas of what to cook for Christmas Dinner. We perused around inside of 168 supermarket and my eyes were pretty much about to pop out of my head when I saw the seafood, especially the size of the lobster. LOBSTER, LOBSTER, LOBSTER! My significant other thought maybe it was the glass / plexiglass that makes the lobster look larger than it really is. I was hooked at that point like a kid in a candy store. I was already focused on which lobster to pick, cook, and eat for Christmas dinner. Patience is a virtue indeed. I waited by the tank to make sure I got the specific lobster I wanted. My significant other waited in line until he was up and then asked the gentleman to come over to me so I can point out which specific lobster I wanted. Of course, I picked out the lobster that had the fighting spirit and was climbing over all of the other lobsters. The lobster was a whopping 7.78 lbs. No joke! Significant other's dad steamed the lobster, and between the three of us, we were eating it for 3+ days. It was delicious. ENJOY! According to my significant other, this supermarket used to be a Vons before it became 168 market, so the size of the store is rather large. According to my significant other's dad, the people that are managing 168 market used to have a seafood business (hence the large size of the lobsters).

Yelp
I went back to take a photo of the Armadillo. I did not find it. Perhaps they checked the freshness date. I did not see the venison either...They had Jack fruit and dragon fruit and their pork bellies looked pretty good. They did have what they called Razor clams, boiled and frozen meats about 1 to 2 inches long. It did not show place of origin. They had Alligator meat (farm raised in America) .

Yelp
Good location on New and Valley Blvd. Fresh fruits, seafood and meats. Good prices and easy to shop with big parking lot. As competitive or cheaper than 99 Ranch market with less crowds. Come quite often for Hot Pot goodies and many other dishes. Just bought case of LKK soy sauce for $.89. I Always get parking close to the store, next to CVS.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Parking is such a headache... I hate how people who walks around the parking lot without looking where they are going and expects only the driver should look only. You BOTH shohld be looking, idiots! Suggestion: come here before 10am...while its still earlier to avoid traffic since there are a couple of restaurants here. Shared parking lot sucks.

Cam D.

Yelp
Grocery is usually fine here but be aware when buying ground pork. It was spoiled when I bought it today.

Tae Kyong R.

Yelp
Pretty okay selection and clean, but super slow cashier, talking constantly with customer.

Yelp
Weekly ad on August 20-26 Bigen conditioning color refill $4.99 2.82oz any color Drove all the way to this market plan to pick some for senior neighour. But market refused the sale price, insist charged $8.99 instead. Market manager My Thu said it's not this market coupon, I did click on Alhambra 168 market n the coupons was at this market Absolutely misleading consumers, false advertisement Fake price. There's lots of inventory on rack But not sale price Why they advertised ?
google avatar

Kara L.

Yelp
Been my go-to market since I was a kid. They have a big section for fruits and veggies. The quality is usually always fresh. TIP: Check online for weekly deals. You can also sign up for a member card to rack up points. Prices are hard to tell between other Asian grocery markets. It's really a hit or miss on the items that are cheaper. Especially the fruits and veggies section. But I can say that 168 market usually has the better deals from my experience. For snackers: they don't have a big selection on chips compared to other markets, but they do have a small selection of korean soju. (Grapefruit, plum, and strawberry) was available when I went. Parking: it's located in a big plaza with CVS. So there are plenty of parking.
google avatar

Selena Y.

Yelp
Don't see any social distancing in this store. People are bumping into each other in every isles. The check out line is always long and when I tell the cashier to stop the lady behind me to put her stuff on the check out counter because she is not done scanning my stuff yet, the cashier lady says it's ok she is not close to you she is just putting her stuff on. Well, if she is putting her stuff next to mine then she is close enough. So, please enforce social distancing.

Damira S.

Yelp
My nearest market. I really like it. I could find organic millets, excellent quality puffy pastry.

Yelp
LARGE Asian supermarket, fresh produce galore. ------------------------------------------------------------------- We were planning a hot pot celebration for NYE. So what better place to check out than a Chinese supermarket in a strip mall with an Old Western facade? Small taro from China? Check. Enormous taro from Mexico? Check. Fresh rock shrimp? Check. Upside down catfish? Pass (but check, they have that too) We got pretty much every ingredient we needed for our hot pot feast, except ironically they ran out of rock shrimp - we went to Hawaii supermarket instead (see my upcoming review). The cans of butane were more expensive than normal - they were being sold individually, $1.60 per can (normally it's a pack of 4, about $1 per can). On the plus side, their thinly sliced beef for hot pot was EXCELLENT. So was their gailan, which was surprisingly tender. I think in total, we spent close to a hundred bucks on ingredients. I was about to shoot a panorama shot of the various Mama Sita's sauces, but some worker came by and kept saying "Hallo, Hallo. No photo." Boo.
