Courteous and helpful staff are welcoming to this shop of delights. From big pieces of sold furniture to fun retro glassware, there's lots to catch your eye in this home for the pre-loved. Prices are maybe a little high but lots of quality ware.

I have been searching for a hard to find vintage milk white glass lamp shade to replace the one on a floor lamp that was damaged in an accident. I sent the shop an email with a photo and some dimensions of the shade and luckily for me they one or two in their shop. It was an exact match to the one I was looking for and was at a fair price. I had found similar ones on kijiji and eBay but those had been priced much higher and cost even more once the shipping was included. Also, I could not even be sure if they would fit without seeing them first hand. I am glad I found this shop. They have many wonderful treasures in their shop. I was impressed by the Edison wax cylinder player that they had and was surprised how loud a sound it generated as I had expected only a soft tinny sound. I found the person at the shop very friendly and knowledgeable.

In my opinion... Prices are extremely high for the exact same thing a bit further north of the city. For a $58 item .. would be under $20 at most places. It seemed like some items were "touched up" in my opinion. Not everything is vintage as advertised...buyer beware here. Do your research. The older man at the counter was not very friendly. He made the experience a bad one. Make the trip to 400 antique market...or ...most other places for that matter....you'll be much happier

Worth the trek from the 905. One word: professional. Owner was courteous, clearly very knowledgeable, but happy to let us browse. Items and store were in good condition, neat, well-arranged. Thanks!

There was no need to lie and say the item was local to Toronto. We would have bought it anyways. Very disappointed in your ethics. A simple Google search showed the true origins which, of course, you knew when you falsely answered that question.

Excellent antique furniture lots of selection

I was in the market for a new desk, and the thought of another ikea desk made me weep with boredom, but the thought of a fancy new desk from elsewhere made my wallet shrivel up and hide. I decided I was in the market for a reasonably priced antique, so down W Queen W I trotted. I saw many beautiful desks in many Antique shops, but the layout of most of these stores is so intimidating. You have to wiggle through piles of things from yesteryear, and you spot a piece you like, but it's so covered in other antiques... do you like it? Who knows! You can't even really see it. I was feeling defeated. Enter 1698 Queen Antiques! This place is massive with beautiful pieces ranging from cheap to ballin', but best of all: their layout leaves room for dignity. No climbing over things, no asking to move dusty things off of dusty things to check 'em out. Two full floors of well kept antiques that are easy to fall in love with. I found my desk, a perfect wooden desk with an additional glass top to put pictures under... and a full size original Peter Pan poster, just for funsies. Why not five stars? There was a little hiccup with my delivery, and it is going to be a little more than originally quoted. They use a secondary service, though, so I don't blame 1698 fully. This being said, when I called to ask after it, they were really kind and sorted it all out in a very timely manner.
