Amazing Breakfast Spot – A Must-Visit! We had an absolutely fantastic experience at 16th Street Diner! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food was beyond amazing—everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The freshly squeezed orange juice was incredibly refreshing, setting the perfect tone for our meal. The chocolate chip pancakes were fluffy and delicious, making for the perfect sweet treat. The avocado toast was perfectly balanced with great seasoning and crunch. And the crispy chicken sandwich? Absolutely outstanding—tender, juicy, and packed with flavor! On top of all that, the portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, this place is a gem, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal!

Was there for dinner in June. It was just great. Very friendly staff and the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended! Will be back for sure in September when I'm back in town!

I loved their omelettes and the avocado toast with scrambled eggs and the avocado was fully loaded on the toast. Great ambience and they’ve freshly squeezed orange juice which I love it. Great staff! I’d go back again! PS: Apparently I heard from the owner that they’re introducing wings soon which I’m eagerly waiting to try their wings.

Diners are typically not my place for dinner but you never know what to expect until you try it out. I'm happy we went, the place is worth visiting. Great service, nice interior decoration and very tasty food to go along with it. Most of all it's pretty reasonably priced. So we tried their Caesar salad, fried calamari and shrimp gamberi over pasta. Cesar was served up with anchovies which was a pleasant surprise and add-on. The fried calamari was a bit over done but to their credit none greasy. The shrimp gamberi was done to perfection. Happy we went and yes I'll go back.

This is a fine dining establishment disguised as a diner. I’ve been here for breakfast & dinner several times. I came for the avocado toast & stayed for the chicken parmigiana. Can’t wait to try the burgers. Avocado Toast: The delicious mash of avocado was perfectly ripe. You get 2 fully loaded slices. I don’t know any other restaurant that generous with great food at reasonable prices. Chicken Parm: Better than all the fancy pants restaurants I’ve been to. Large tender cutlet, homemade sauce, and enough pasta on the side for tomorrow’s dinner. You won’t go hungry. For me, casual destination dining. Support Local!

The food was fantastic! I ordered steak and eggs, and the steak was cooked perfectly to my liking. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious—kudos to the chef! Unfortunately, my experience with the waiter was disappointing. We waited 20 minutes without being offered drinks. When I finally asked for something, he seemed annoyed. Additionally, I noticed him preparing my toast with his bare hands shortly after cleaning another table, which was concerning. I ordered country potatoes with no bell peppers, but received them with bell peppers instead. He then took my plate to the back and, using his hands again, dumped my potatoes into a bowl before grabbing more from a skillet with bare hands. Thankfully, my partner shared his with me. As someone who works in the food industry and emphasizes food safety, I believe this waiter could benefit from training in proper food handling and customer service. There was only one other table in the restaurant, and he still neglected to check in for water refills, which we needed. Thankfully the food was great! Pls give this guy some training!

Yelp
The food here is so amazing! We got the breakfast burrito and blueberry pancakes and they did not disappoint. The breakfast burrito was so flavorful and had BEEF bacon! The whole restaurant is halal which is so awesome! The service was great and the servers were very attentive and kind. If you are looking for a breakfast spot come here!!

Yelp
Outstanding beef burger for a great price. Casual, clean, unpretentious place which creates a great atmosphere. The wait staff was friendly, attentive, and responsive. I recommend this place to anyone that needs a good bite in SF!

Yelp
Love the service! The waiter is very sweet and accommodating. I have a tomato allergy and he made sure to check everything including the achar to make sure they didn't have tomatoes. The food itself was pretty amazing! Specifically the masala omelette. I was a fan of the French toast aswell it had a little eggy taste which I personally enjoyed. The seating suits the place well. The music really pulls everything together, songs I enjoy but at a volume I can still hear the person in front of me talking.

Yelp
Love this spot on 16th. I do also enjoy that their menu isn't over filled with too many options. It's simple and has all your basics that you'll need. The prices are also very great, especially for the portions that they are providing you. I went in on a slower day. No one in the restaurant. I opened the door and was greeted and set at my seat immediately. I was handed a menu and placed my order. The restaurant was clean and the staff were kind. I ordered the burger and fries and a Coke. The price was only $16. Which was awesome. All the other dishes were really fairly priced as well.

Yelp
Is it the best breakfast food I've ever had? No. But they offer well-done classics at (very) reasonable prices and with exceptional service. It's hard to ask for more. I ordered the avocado toast with egg, which was solid. My friend ordered the french toast with fried chicken, which he really enjoyed. Each was under $20, which is essentially unheard of in San Francisco. As I mentioned above, the service is very warm and friendly. The interior is small but cute and clean. Recommend a visit!

Yelp
The food and service were delicious. I had the Dolores omelette which was served with fresh fruit. The presentation was beautiful and it tasted just as good. Definitely recommend this little out-of-the-way spot.

Yelp
Wow. What a find! Searching for avocado toast I came upon this lovely cafe, a bright spot on a run down but safe street. One of the owners, Barat, told me they've only been around a month. Breakfast & Burger people unite at 16th Street Diner. You'll thank me. Don't expect a greasy spoon, the exterior is clean & bright, a warm & friendly cafe vibe. No burritos here, rather toasts, omelettes, griddle, burgers, salads & cheesecake. Fresh squeezed orange juice. Stash brand tea, & of course a selection of coffees. So far I've reviewed 30 cafes & their avocado toast. This diner is without a doubt in the top 3. Two slices of bread that's actually toasted! A generous portion of creamy, ripe avocado on both slices, topped with cherry tomatoes & chili flakes. I added a fried egg, made to order, with a side of beef bacon which was thick and chewy. Did you catch that? Two slices of bread! $10.99. I've paid anywhere from $7.99 to $20 for one slice of bread with varying amounts of avocado. For San Francisco, you're getting value for your $$. Let's support these people & their delicious food. Destination dining. Afterward check out the many stores on Valencia Street & Clarion Alley murals, just around the corner. Support Local!

Yelp
I love going to late night diners for dinner. Tucked away on 16th close to Pakwan, this place is well-lit and clean. We ordered the fettuccine aglio e olio, the fried chicken burger, and a mocktail. The burger was simply scrumptious. The fried chicken reminded me very strongly of an old burger joint I used to frequent in college whose taste I've been trying to find since I graduated. It really hit the spot! It definitely is one of those burgers you need to eat in one shot, though, it's a pretty beefy boi (not literally). The fettuccine was just okay, but very light. The light meal was just what I needed tonight, though I will take up the offer of parm next time. The mocktail was delicious! Our bill came out to $38 before tip, and our meal included free bread! Service was friendly and fast. They serve halal meat. I can't wait to come back for breakfast. Thank you!

Yelp
It's a hole in the wall but in a great way! Staff is very nice and friendly. The place is clean and gives off really cool diner vibes. Food is excellent! Please see pics .... YUMMY! Please come and try out the delicious food!

Yelp
Great food - ordered an avocado platter! The waiter was very kind. Ambiance made for a very sweet reunion type-vibe with select large tables, and a couple two-seater tables.

Yelp
I came here with my husband for a quick lunch before my doctor appointment. We both ordered the fried chicken sandwich with fries. The place wasn't busy when we arrived so our food came quickly and it was super hot. In terms of taste, it was delicious but the chicken could be seasoned a little bit more.

Yelp
5 stars bc it does what it promises - affordable, no nonsense brunch food in cozy/small diner feel! The orange juice was so so fresh, and the breakfast potatoes were perfect (salty, buttery, and slightly charred bellpepper). Toast and avocado were standard but good, and my friends enjoyed the their breakfast sandwiches/plates too! Service was pretty fast and friendly - excited to have this in the neighborhood!

Yelp
An absolutely amazing breakfast here. Food was so tasty, fresh & flavorful. I easily found parking on the side street. Enjoyed a nice cup of hot green tea while eating. Service was impeccable. Bathrooms sparkling clean.

Yelp
Excellent halal food! The one and only halal diner in the SF Bay Area. Super super super steak and eggs. Eggs done perfectly, super delicious potatoes, and I think the steak speaks for itself! Best thing, all of their chicken and meat is hand slaughtered halal (if that's your preference). Don't sleep on this place, it's a gem. Their fried chicken + French toast and Philly cheesesteak are also very delicious.

Yelp
Awesome food, tasty and satisfying, great staff, friendly and informative. Easy accessibility, restroom for all people.

Yelp
The waiter was swift and very friendly we were seated almost immediately after he cleaned the table. It's a quiet casual diner with amazing food and drinks to offer. My dad is so picky and he was blown away at how good his burger and fries were. We ordered breakfast on the other hand and their eggs are so freaking good you have to try it. We would 100% recommend this place and next time we visit SF again we're planning to come back! thank you 16th St Diner for your wonderful service!

Yelp
I ordered a mission street platter which consisted of 2 eggs any style, potatoes, 3 piece beef bacon, and toast. I ordered a side of fruit also. ¡Muy delicioso! the waiter was nice, and attended to our every need! Ambiance was quite alright with me!

Yelp
I'm glad I stopped here. I was craving breakfast but only had time for something to go. I saw this new spot and wow! Delicious breakfast sandwich, with a chicken sausage patty that had so much flavor! Loved the sauce on the sandwich, as it complimented the fluffy eggs, cheese, lettuce and sausage combo. Nice gent behind the counter and the gent cooking did a great job. Ten bucks was a good deal. I only made it a few blocks before I had to break it open. Yum! Cute diner vibes. Next time I'll try the French toast and fried chicken.

Yelp
Best burger in the Mission, if you ask me. Quick, friendly service, and great atmosphere.

Yelp
Cute little spot with some breakfast classics. I got the Valencia omelette. I'd recommend adding an egg for $1.99 to make it a 3-egg omelette. Delicious omelette with delicious green chili sauce. Coffee is good, but I wished it was a little hotter. Service was friendly and quick. Since it wasn't busy when I went in the morning, I got to sit for a bit and read while I drank my coffee and ate my toast.

Yelp
I went here to dinner tonight with my eleven year old*, we both absolutely loved it! Our waiter was super nice and got us an extra chair when our neighbor came in to chat for a little. But more importantly the food was AMAZING!!! It came with a nice little appetizer (which to be clear, was also delicious.) then they brought out the main meal which was a Caesar salad and fish and chips. The ambiance was pretty casual, so I wouldn't recommend showing up here wearing your "finest clothes" or anything like that. The food could be served at a fancy restaurant and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference though . Overall this place is amazing, I highly recommend coming here with or without kids of any age. Five stars! *Review written by my kid but I approve :)

Yelp
3.5 stars, but I will round up to 4 since they are new. Was excited to see that a proper diner has opened up in the neighborhood. Nothing bougie, just basic diner fare. We don't really have that here. Overall, I would say this place was a better fit than the last place in this space. The last place billed itself as an all day neighborhood hangout, but it was really a moderately pricey French restaurant that didn't really hit the right notes. This place seems to fill a niche. Anyways, I came here for lunch. I was pleased that everything on the menu is under $20, which is a rarity in this neighborhood. I ordered the burger. It is a refreshing change of pace to see a $13 burger actually come with cheese on it AND fries and not be an add on. The burger itself was decent, nothing revelatory. It was that typical burger stand style burger. Not thick and juicy, but also not as thin as a smashburger. It didn't have exceptional flavor, but it was fine. I did feel like it was over-sauced. I had a really hard time keeping the burger within the buns without sliding around all over the place. This maneuvering caused the bun (which was actually pretty good to begin with) to sort of collapse on itself. I feel like if the lettuce was not this single sheet, that it may have added some grip to keep everything together. The fries were the perfect thickness and crispness. My only gripe is that they tasted overly oily. Not sure if the grease needed to be changed out? Maybe they double fried them and one of the fries was not hot enough? Overall, they did satisfy the itch. I think this place has the potential to be the type of spot that this neighborhood desperately needs. I feel like the execution could be a bit tighter. It doesn't need to be fancy by any stretch of the imagination but, if they get their grilling down pat and their fryer oil a bit hotter, it could be a real winner.

Yelp
This place is a 5-star diner. The food is delicious and plentiful, the service is attentive, and the vibe is casually comfortable. I'd happily go back.

Yelp
h Street Diner today. We devoured their chicken sandwich. Delicious and a great value at $13. Very happy to have it in the neighborhood

Karthik S.

Yelp
Beautiful place, lovely food and great service. We tried the Valencia omelette, the 16th street omelette, tenderloin, and French toast. All the omelettes were very tasty and filling. Valencia had a perfect balance of flavors. French toast was good too!! Their service was very good. Prompt and Friendly!! Definitely recommend this place for a laid back brunch!!

Mark P.

Yelp
Clean, chill music, nice staff, and food is reasonably priced. Admittedly i only had one thing, the chicken burger, but it was really good. Service was maybe a little slow but no complaints. And breakfast all day? That's a win!

Yelp
This little diner just began serving dinners about 2 months ago. The food was very good and really reasonably priced. It was a little more upscale than regular diner food, though they have pancakes and other foods on the menu. I highly recommend this diner.

Glenn S.

Yelp
Food is solid, and the service is super friendly. Feels like a real neighborhood restaurant. I eat in or order to go at least once a week.

Yelp
I ate here with a few friends for brunch and had the Dolores omelette! I usually need some other type of meat (in addition to eggs) whenever I'm eating breakfast meals but this was super filling w/o the extra meat! Our server was also super kind, patient (I joined a few minutes later than the rest of my group), and accommodating :)

Yelp
I found this cute diner through Yelp during a work trip, and completely fell in love with the ambiance and food! I ordered the special, steak and eggs, it was delicious! I subbed the potatoes and sourdough bread for bacon since I'm on the carnivore diet. The owner was super accommodating! The price was so reasonable because I'm so over the high cost of food nowadays. Looking forward to visiting 16th Street Diner in the future, and I hope their business does well

Yelp
The food is amazing and the service is great. New spot with great vibes. Young service and on top of everything. Definitely recommend

Yelp
Great halal diner, service was great. The pancakes were delicious and the amount was good for the price point. The Virgin mocktail was wonderful as well. Highly recommend this place if you want breakfast for dinner
google avatar

Yelp
Good place especially the prices. But they don't offer biscuits and gravy which is a staple of every diner. So. It's not an American style diner at all. Very disappointed.

Eva T.

Yelp
Perfect breakfast spot. Not too busy, attentive servers, and good food! Very simple menu. The classic breakfast with eggs bacon and potatoes was bomb. I'd come here every day if I lived nearby!

Yelp
Lovely new diner in the Mission! We tried the masala omelette (special of the day), fish and chips and pancakes. Everything was delicious especially the pancakes. Service was warm and friendly- thanks Bharat! Definitely going on our regular brunch rotation !

Ritu S.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. The eggs were made with fresh veggies and the French toast was fluffy and delicious. Best part was the choc chip pancake. Service was super polite and for a weekend it wasn't too much of a wait . The ambience was nice and simple

Shilpa R.

Yelp
Had a breakfast in SFO with excellent service. The food was fresh, flavorful, and the staff was friendly.

Ant L.

Yelp
Just had their French toast and chicken sandwich. Sandwich came with fries, and got them well done. All I can say is wow, the chicken was super crispy and the filet was bigger than the bun! Was so juicy, and the fries were super good and I'm not a big fry person, but their fries were bomb! The French toast was so good too, it just melted in your mouth and it came with some fresh fruit. We also had their fresh squeezed orange juice, probably the best I've ever had! Service was amazing an Bharath took amazing care of us. Will definitely be back for more, couldn't recommend this place enough!

Bob B.

Yelp
A friend just "discovered" this restaurant and asked if I wanted to give it a try. I checked the menu online and was game. I'm always down for a chicken sandwich. Theirs didn't let me down. It was breaded, soft and delicious. It overflows a tasty brioche bun and comes with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions and a delicious dressing, and a side of fries. The price was very reasonable. The service was friendly and efficient. Looking forward to returning.

Willem V.

Yelp
they are now open for dinner! we stopped in for a quick burger and fish n chips. great service and tasty meal. will be back for sure. priced like 2010. still miss katz bagels

Shayan P.

Yelp
The service was awesome (Thank you Sai!) and the food was delicious. My friend and I walked by and noticed the menu and we had to try it! We had the masala omelette with paratha (which was loaded with veggies and potatoes and flavor, ask for the house sauce for a creamy thousand-island flavor) and the French toast with berries which was perfectly refreshing. Great place to sit and chat, with a cozy and clean atmosphere. Perfect for a one on one.

Jenny D.

Yelp
This place was so good! The french toast was very yummy. Our server was so nice and attentive!

A D.

Yelp
The food was perfect, the owner is delightful and there is an especially sweet energy in the air. Go to be nourished and taken care of.

Karim D.

Yelp
This place is special. The food is clean and absolutely delicious. We tried one of the omelets and avocado toast. It felt good to eat it! The plate came with potatoes, toast and fruit! Every morsel was perfect. The orange juice is freshly squeezed. The owner gave us a pancake with fruit to try on the house. Wow. Clean food, clean energy and reasonably priced. Neighborhood gem. Will be back!!

Christopher J.

Yelp
Quick, friendly, simple menu full of winners. The French toast and waffles was perfect for brunch.

Mike K.

Yelp
Classic diner food, made upscale with a bright, airy environment and tasteful plating, at a very reasonable price (at least for SF these days). My son had a cheese steak and fries that he said were delicious and filling, my avocado salad had a surprisingly tangy and delicious mango dressing/salsa. Everything was presented tastefully, but casually, so it didn't seem overly fussy. We'll definitely be coming back!

Edward B.

Yelp
the food was amazing and the service was very welcoming. i'm definitely planning to come back

Ellyse W.

Yelp
forgot to take a picture but burger was fat and a yummy! come support a new diner in the area !!
