Wow! Was not expecting this place to blow us away, what a pleasant surprise! Super clean and cozy place with extremely friendly service (even immediately brought us extra napkins when the server noticed we got a little food on our shirt). Buffalo wings were crispy, perfectly seasoned and the meat was great quality. Blueberry Pancakes are some of the best we’ve had. It’s diner food but not the gross, greasy kind—but also comforting enough to hit that diner food craving. We will be back for sure, this place is definitely worth visiting again and again!

Shwank lil diner right off of Valencia. Great food, music, service and atmosphere. I've eaten here now my 3rd time in the last month and I can't get enough. With few places in the city where you can get pancakes 🥞 this place is truly a jewel.

The breakfast was very good, the potatoes had bell peppers and onions in them giving them a great taste. The orange juice was fresh. If you are in the area give it a try for breakfast. PS the waiter was attentive and we didn’t have to wait for anything.

I was looking for place to have a good coffee, end i found this cozy place is in the corner of 16th and Guerrero, we decided to try it, no complaints at all, very good breakfast , good atmosphere , and good service.100% recommended

I've lived in the neighborhood for 30 years and have seen many businesses come and go. This used to be a yummy bagel shop that closed during the pandemic, and it now 16th Street Diner. I was genuinely impressed with this place, and now visit often. The staff are so sweet and hospitable. Always willing to make your experience better if you request for something or just want to have small talk. The food is good, solid portions, and so reasonably priced. The place is a bit small. Theres some table seating on one side and bar seating on another. I definitely recommend this place if you want a casual, relaxed, homey, breakfast/brunch/lunch experience.

We live in the neighborhood and finally had a chance to try this diner. For lunch, we had a bacon cheeseburger and a fried fish sandwich. Huge servings! Fish was very flakey, and the batter coating nicely done, not greasy and delicately crisp. The restaurant is halal, like a few others along this strip of 16th, so the bacon is beef. Not the greatest, to be honest, but the burger itself was solid. Both sandwiches came with huge pile of skinny fries, which were hot and crisp. It's a relatively simple but well thought out menu, which fits the low-key, friendly feel of the place. Quiet and comfortable, very clean. No alcohol and, strangely, no iced tea. Virgin cocktails though! It's a small place and on a Wednesday mid-day, not crowded, with a couple of other tables full besides ours. Service was discrete yet friendly and responsive. A good neighborhood restaurant. We'd like to come back and try their breakfast, and will update then. Though perhaps not a menu to go out your way for, definitely recommended if you're in the area or want a place you can relax and read a book or if you need a chill place to meet someone.

I stopped in for breakfast with my mom. The place was cute and the servers were friendly and attentive. But tbh the food was meh. They only serve beef bacon, which is fine, but it was over cooked and tough. My eggs were very undercooked on half of them The sourdough toast and the fruit were my favorite parts.

Love this spot on 16th. I do also enjoy that their menu isn't over filled with too many options. It's simple and has all your basics that you'll need. The prices are also very great, especially for the portions that they are providing you. I went in on a slower day. No one in the restaurant. I opened the door and was greeted and set at my seat immediately. I was handed a menu and placed my order. The restaurant was clean and the staff were kind. I ordered the burger and fries and a Coke. The price was only $16. Which was awesome. All the other dishes were really fairly priced as well.

I had high hopes based on this diner's rating, but it was just okay. The breakfast menu was a little limited (was disappointed they didn't have eggs Benedict) and I wish I had gone around lunchtime to try their fried chicken sandwich. Their prices are excellent and staff were very friendly.

Closed when they should be open. Now hungry with no where to go. Have to spend more money on taxi.

Five Stars All Around! We had an absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. Everything we ordered -- the omelette, the burrito, and the avocado toast -- was clearly made with top-quality ingredients and attention to detail. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was equally impressive: attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The entire space was spotlessly clean and felt comfortable and inviting. This is exactly the kind of place you hope to find when looking for great food and excellent service. Highly recommended and worth every star!

Getting the car serviced in the neighborhood, so had to wait a few minutes until they opened. The server called out and let me in right on time. Ordered the Delores Omelette with an extra egg with coffee and ice water. Was Delicious! The eggs were nice and fluffy, and the heathy ingredients were all mixed in the inside. The Potatoes had peppers and onions to add some flavor (and nutrients) and the fruit salad was a nice combination too. The sourdough toast came unbuttered, but the provided butter was softened and still melted nicely, so no issues. Nice covers playing on the speakers and not too loud, although I was the only customer at opening, so not sure when it gets crowded. Excellent decision to break my fast here!

Is it the best breakfast food I've ever had? No. But they offer well-done classics at (very) reasonable prices and with exceptional service. It's hard to ask for more. I ordered the avocado toast with egg, which was solid. My friend ordered the french toast with fried chicken, which he really enjoyed. Each was under $20, which is essentially unheard of in San Francisco. As I mentioned above, the service is very warm and friendly. The interior is small but cute and clean. Recommend a visit!

We just came by before a concert at Kilowatt and decided to have breakfast for dinner. My husband and I split the Double Cheeseburger and The Albion Platter. So good! Next time we want to try the beef bacon! We'll definitely be back soon

Wow. What a find! Searching for avocado toast I came upon this lovely cafe, a bright spot on a run down but safe street. One of the owners, Barat, told me they've only been around a month. Breakfast & Burger people unite at 16th Street Diner. You'll thank me. Don't expect a greasy spoon, the exterior is clean & bright, a warm & friendly cafe vibe. No burritos here, rather toasts, omelettes, griddle, burgers, salads & cheesecake. Fresh squeezed orange juice. Stash brand tea, & of course a selection of coffees. So far I've reviewed 30 cafes & their avocado toast. This diner is without a doubt in the top 3. Two slices of bread that's actually toasted! A generous portion of creamy, ripe avocado on both slices, topped with cherry tomatoes & chili flakes. I added a fried egg, made to order, with a side of beef bacon which was thick and chewy. Did you catch that? Two slices of bread! $10.99. I've paid anywhere from $7.99 to $20 for one slice of bread with varying amounts of avocado. For San Francisco, you're getting value for your $$. I love going to late night diners for dinner. Tucked away on 16th close to Pakwan, this place is well-lit and clean. We ordered the fettuccine aglio e olio, the fried chicken burger, and a mocktail. The burger was simply scrumptious. The fried chicken reminded me very strongly of an old burger joint I used to frequent in college whose taste I've been trying to find since I graduated. It really hit the spot! It definitely is one of those burgers you need to eat in one shot, though, it's a pretty beefy boi (not literally). The fettuccine was just okay, but very light. The light meal was just what I needed tonight, though I will take up the offer of parm next time. The mocktail was delicious! Our bill came out to $38 before tip, and our meal included free bread! Service was friendly and fast. They serve halal meat. I can't wait to come back for breakfast. Thank you!

Honestly pretty good! The inside is very clean and cute and the staff were nice and attentive. The food itself was not too bad either, the omelet was cooked nicely and quite cheesy. The burger was pretty basic but the fries were fried to the perfect texture. The fruit was pretty fresh but honestly there could be a few more pieces in my opinion. The potato and pepper side and bread with butter side with the omelet were good additions as well. Good place to stop by for a quick bite if you're in the area. Went on a Sunday around noon and there was no wait.

This place is perfectly fine. The food is fine. The service is fine. It's clean. It's just *not* a Diner. It's not an Indian/Pakistani restaurant either. It is somewhere in between. Sort of maybe like an AI version of a Diner. Mostly right... passable... will do in a pinch... but also obviously not right at all. My wife and I went for brunch. We were hoping for the typical American Diner menu & experience. The menu was missing all the basics. There was no "two eggs any style". No western omelette. No biscuits & gravy. No tuna melt. No club sandwich. No sausage and *No Bacon* (Beef bacon ain't bad, but it ain't bacon). The orange juice was good. So was the toast. In fact, everything was fine... which is honestly all one can expect from a Diner... it just was *not* a Diner. If you are looking for a Diner, check out Boogaloos or Little Orphan Andy's, or Mel's, or Eddie's or Saint Francis. Those places are Diners. "16th Street Diner" is just not.

Great food - ordered an avocado platter! The waiter was very kind. Ambiance made for a very sweet reunion type-vibe with select large tables, and a couple two-seater tables.

I came here with my husband for a quick lunch before my doctor appointment. We both ordered the fried chicken sandwich with fries. The place wasn't busy when we arrived so our food came quickly and it was super hot. In terms of taste, it was delicious but the chicken could be seasoned a little bit more.

5 stars bc it does what it promises - affordable, no nonsense brunch food in cozy/small diner feel! The orange juice was so so fresh, and the breakfast potatoes were perfect (salty, buttery, and slightly charred bellpepper). Toast and avocado were standard but good, and my friends enjoyed the their breakfast sandwiches/plates too! Service was pretty fast and friendly - excited to have this in the neighborhood!

Went there last month before leaving town bc it was close to our hotel. I was so pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. The place is small and humble but the food and service were phenomenal! Will look for this spot again next time we're in the area.

An absolutely amazing breakfast here. Food was so tasty, fresh & flavorful. I easily found parking on the side street. Enjoyed a nice cup of hot green tea while eating. Service was impeccable. Bathrooms sparkling clean.

The food here is so amazing! We got the breakfast burrito and blueberry pancakes and they did not disappoint. The breakfast burrito was so flavorful and had BEEF bacon! The whole restaurant is halal which is so awesome! The service was great and the servers were very attentive and kind. If you are looking for a breakfast spot come here!!

Excellent halal food! The one and only halal diner in the SF Bay Area. Super super super steak and eggs. Eggs done perfectly, super delicious potatoes, and I think the steak speaks for itself! Best thing, all of their chicken and meat is hand slaughtered halal (if that's your preference). Don't sleep on this place, it's a gem. Their fried chicken + French toast and Philly cheesesteak are also very delicious.

Love the service! The waiter is very sweet and accommodating. I have a tomato allergy and he made sure to check everything including the achar to make sure they didn't have tomatoes. The food itself was pretty amazing! Specifically the masala omelette. I was a fan of the French toast aswell it had a little eggy taste which I personally enjoyed. The seating suits the place well. The music really pulls everything together, songs I enjoy but at a volume I can still hear the person in front of me talking.

Good food, friendly staff. Generally a very nice experience. We went fairly late on a Wednesday and it was the perfect spot to take my starving visitor after her flight into SF. Plus it's a great location.

The food and service were delicious. I had the Dolores omelette which was served with fresh fruit. The presentation was beautiful and it tasted just as good. Definitely recommend this little out-of-the-way spot.

I ordered a mission street platter which consisted of 2 eggs any style, potatoes, 3 piece beef bacon, and toast. I ordered a side of fruit also. ¡Muy delicioso! the waiter was nice, and attended to our every need! Ambiance was quite alright with me!

Really clean. Very good service. Good was good but know they are halal so no pork. So beef bacon instead. Somewhat limited options. But all in all a good find.

I'm glad I stopped here. I was craving breakfast but only had time for something to go. I saw this new spot and wow! Delicious breakfast sandwich, with a chicken sausage patty that had so much flavor! Loved the sauce on the sandwich, as it complimented the fluffy eggs, cheese, lettuce and sausage combo. Nice gent behind the counter and the gent cooking did a great job. Ten bucks was a good deal. I only made it a few blocks before I had to break it open. Yum! Cute diner vibes. Next time I'll try the French toast and fried chicken.

Cute little spot with some breakfast classics. I got the Valencia omelette. I'd recommend adding an egg for $1.99 to make it a 3-egg omelette. Delicious omelette with delicious green chili sauce. Coffee is good, but I wished it was a little hotter. Service was friendly and quick. Since it wasn't busy when I went in the morning, I got to sit for a bit and read while I drank my coffee and ate my toast.

Everything was nice, simple and delicious. Food came out fast and hot. Definitely will be back.

I went here to dinner tonight with my eleven year old*, we both absolutely loved it! Our waiter was super nice and got us an extra chair when our neighbor came in to chat for a little. But more importantly the food was AMAZING!!! It came with a nice little appetizer (which to be clear, was also delicious.) then they brought out the main meal which was a Caesar salad and fish and chips. The ambiance was pretty casual, so I wouldn't recommend showing up here wearing your "finest clothes" or anything like that. The food could be served at a fancy restaurant and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference though . Overall this place is amazing, I highly recommend coming here with or without kids of any age. Outstanding beef burger for a great price. Casual, clean, unpretentious place which creates a great atmosphere. The wait staff was friendly, attentive, and responsive. I recommend this place to anyone that needs a good bite in SF!

3.5 stars, but I will round up to 4 since they are new. Was excited to see that a proper diner has opened up in the neighborhood. Nothing bougie, just basic diner fare. We don't really have that here. Overall, I would say this place was a better fit than the last place in this space. The last place billed itself as an all day neighborhood hangout, but it was really a moderately pricey French restaurant that didn't really hit the right notes. This place seems to fill a niche. Anyways, I came here for lunch. I was pleased that everything on the menu is under $20, which is a rarity in this neighborhood. I ordered the burger. It is a refreshing change of pace to see a $13 burger actually come with cheese on it AND fries and not be an add on. The burger itself was decent, nothing revelatory. It was that typical burger stand style burger. Not thick and juicy, but also not as thin as a smashburger. It didn't have exceptional flavor, but it was fine. I did feel like it was over-sauced. I had a really hard time keeping the burger within the buns without sliding around all over the place. This maneuvering caused the bun (which was actually pretty good to begin with) to sort of collapse on itself. I feel like if the lettuce was not this single sheet, that it may have added some grip to keep everything together. The fries were the perfect thickness and crispness. My only gripe is that they tasted overly oily. Not sure if the grease needed to be changed out? Maybe they double fried them and one of the fries was not hot enough? Overall, they did satisfy the itch. I think this place has the potential to be the type of spot that this neighborhood desperately needs. I feel like the execution could be a bit tighter. It doesn't need to be fancy by any stretch of the imagination but, if they get their grilling down pat and their fryer oil a bit hotter, it could be a real winner.

The waiter was swift and very friendly we were seated almost immediately after he cleaned the table. It's a quiet casual diner with amazing food and drinks to offer. My dad is so picky and he was blown away at how good his burger and fries were. We ordered breakfast on the other hand and their eggs are so freaking good you have to try it. We would 100% recommend this place and next time we visit SF again we're planning to come back! thank you 16th St Diner for your wonderful service!

The chicken sandwich is the best in San Francisco, and at a bargain price. The service is always exceptionally attentive, friendly and accommodating. I always get the fries with my meal. My friend ordered a salad on our most recent visit. The portion was generous. He said it was excellent. I tasted the dressing, which was a hit for sure. I've reviewed this establishment before. Just letting would be diners that it's been consistent in its excellence.

Beautiful place, lovely food and great service. We tried the Valencia omelette, the 16th street omelette, tenderloin, and French toast. All the omelettes were very tasty and filling. Valencia had a perfect balance of flavors. French toast was good too!! Their service was very good. Prompt and Friendly!! Definitely recommend this place for a laid back brunch!!

This little diner just began serving dinners about 2 months ago. The food was very good and really reasonably priced. It was a little more upscale than regular diner food, though they have pancakes and other foods on the menu. I highly recommend this diner.

I ate here with a few friends for brunch and had the Dolores omelette! I usually need some other type of meat (in addition to eggs) whenever I'm eating breakfast meals but this was super filling w/o the extra meat! Our server was also super kind, patient (I joined a few minutes later than the rest of my group), and accommodating :)

I found this cute diner through Yelp during a work trip, and completely fell in love with the ambiance and food! I ordered the special, steak and eggs, it was delicious! I subbed the potatoes and sourdough bread for bacon since I'm on the carnivore diet. The owner was super accommodating! The price was so reasonable because I'm so over the high cost of food nowadays. Looking forward to visiting 16th Street Diner in the future, and I hope their business does well

Clean, chill music, nice staff, and food is reasonably priced. Admittedly i only had one thing, the chicken burger, but it was really good. Service was maybe a little slow but no complaints. And breakfast all day? That's a win!
