The restaurant is clean and welcoming. The staff is friendly and service is quick. We tried the brisket, sausage and ribs. They were all delicious! We travel the state going to the TM Top 50 and I'm surprised 1701 is not in the top ten!! Well, it's in my top ten for Texas bbq. Good job 1701 BBQ. I think it's worth the trip.

Great and happy staff, they were excited to share their love of bbq with newcomers. The food was delicious, the ribs were fall off the bone, but not too soft! The Mac and cheese was flavorful. Banana pudding is a must have too. Wonderful establishment with lots of fun signage. Clean bathrooms.

Best BBQ joint in the area. Meats and sides were delicious and the desserts were great too. They had some daily special available as well.

Had this place on my list for quite some time…and they did not disappointed. I arrived at 1701 Barbecue just before 11am and wandered around to the smokers and chatted with some of the pit crew. There’s a lot to choose from here and the carver was great help…they had Beef Ribs “on sale” so I had to grab one of them, a jalapeño & cheddar link, and I was convinced to try one of their lean brisket sandwiches. I rarely order lean brisket, normally too dry and little flavor but was blown away by this great piece of smoked meat. The sandwich…delicious and I really love their BBQ sauce. The beef rib was solid and the crust was a perfect complement to the moist meat of the rib. I don’t see loose grind sausage very often, and this sausage was solid with some extra kick to it. I’ll be having a sausage and beef rib breakfast sandwich tomorrow. The service here is extremely friendly and I enjoyed talking to the Manager Travis, plus he gave me a new place to go scope out. It’s no wonder this place is a Texas Top 50!!!

I've visited this restaurant twice & unfortunately it'll be my last. The very first time I visited 1701, the food was excellent, but EXPENSIVE. But typically, good BBQ joints normally are. My last visit was on August 15, 2025 with some family. On the way there, I was praising 1701 & telling them it's the best BBQ joint in the Golden Triangle. Ordered half rack of pork ribs, 1/2 pound of beef sausage, 1/2 pound fatty brisket, pint of potato salad, pint of beans, & 3 ice teas. Total cost for lunch was $102....Texas is well known to use only salt & pepper for seasoning and I love it. But the ribs were drenched with black pepper this time. It was horrible. The beef sausage? Horrible. Fatty beef brisket? Excellent. Potato salad? It was good, but nothing special. Beans? Dam Bush's baked beans wins by a mile. Save your money & don't get the beans... The family was not impressed at all & for $102 they did not see the value.

Came here for lunch and I can confidently say as of now this is my favorite bbq in the Beaumont port author area. The staff was nice and the food was good. They have a nice shop that smells great as soon as you walk in. My favorite part was the jalapeño sausage. Had great flavor and a good snap.

Google
A solid bbq joint, it is plain to see why they’re on the TM Top 50 list. The brisket is great the ribs are delicious. Since they were out of chicken they talked us into the turkey which I would put up with the top 3 best turkey in the state of TX. They were out of some of their most popular sides and the chickens but were very happy with our experience. The people are great, very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Very impressed, highly recommend, and will gladly return.

Yelp
"I pulled into 1701 hunting brisket, but what I found was a full-blown smoke show with a side of glory." TL;DR: Rolled up at 10:45 AM and parked myself first in line at 1701 Barbecue. By the time the doors opened, there were 20 folks stacked up behind me, hungry and jealous. I walked out with brisket, ribs, sausage, banana pudding for the road, and a half chicken for dinner. The bark was crusted brilliance. The rib was hearty and full of flavor. The sausage had snap, juice, and no nonsense. The place was spotless, the staff was welcoming, and the smoke lingered in all the right places. That bird? Reheated like a champ. Stamp 23 secured. It was Saturday morning, and I had meat on my mind. The road took me to 1701 Barbecue, where the pitmasters don't mess around and neither do the regulars. My internal alarm clock nudged me into action, and by 10:45 AM I was in the lot staring at the closed doors like a kid outside a candy store. A few clouds rolled by, the sun climbed a little higher, and before long a crowd had built up behind me like a tailgate line at kickoff. When the doors finally swung open, I had one mission: Texas Trinity + banana pudding + peace offering poultry. Here's what hit the tray: * Brisket: Rich bark, tender middle, and seasoned with purpose. They don't overdo it. They let the smoke speak. * Pork Rib: Thick, meaty, perfectly cooked. No tug-of-war, no chew-fest, just a clean bite and a flavor that hangs around. * Sausage: Juicy and bold with a casing that snapped clean like a green branch in deer season. * Banana Pudding: I tucked it in the to-go bag for the Side Dish Queen. She wasn't with me this round, so it doubled as both a dessert and a peace treaty. * Half Chicken: I knew we'd need dinner. That bird got packed up and rode home like royalty. The joint itself was clean, cool, and buzzing with good energy. Staff had that Texas hospitality gear running smooth and friendly. Inside was all charm and calm efficiency. Plenty of napkins, plenty of smiles. When I got home that evening, I warmed up the half chicken, expecting some loss of luster. Nope. It was moist, smoky, and full of life. Even the Side Dish Queen nodded her approval. Stamp count: 23 down. 27 to go. 1701 brought the smoke, and I'll be talking about that tray for a while. Dad Joke Sign-off: I asked the chicken how it stayed so good after the reheat. It just winked and said, "I don't wing it."

Yelp
I went on a Wednesday late morning before the lunch rush. The Trinity plate was the special. It was jalapeño/cheese sausage, a slice of brisket, a pork rib and pit beans. It had good flavor but was a little heavy on the pepper in my opinion. I didn't see a water station so I also got a can of Sprite too. I don't think I'd make it a point to go back but if I'm in the area and someone wants BBQ I wouldn't be opposed to going again.

Yelp
My husband found out about this place and we had to try. It was nice and spacious. Staff were friendly and informative. The food was great. We got the Mac N cheese, corn bread and brisket rice for our sides. For the meats, we got boudin, jalapeno and cheese sausage, cajun sausage, brisket, and ribs. I liked the pork ribs the most it was flavorful and moist. The brisket we got though was a little dry. But overall I give it a solid 8

Yelp
Nice folks and really good BBQ We got there right when they opened, ribs and brisket were cooked to perfection. The corn and coleslaw were awesome as well so don't sleep on the sides. Pro tip - walk off the BBQ at the McFadden-Ward house

Yelp
A little rude and a lot of racist but hey good BBQ. Don't know if I ever come back. My first time going there too.

Yelp
Great barbecue, great service, love that they kept original building details. We had brisket, turkey, jalapeño sausage, pit beans and green beans and they were all delicious. Pit beans are full of brisket, the sausage melts in your mouth and the sleeper hit for me was the pickled vegetable slaw! I could eat a tub of that alone!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice, friendly, and passionate staff first off. Cool, rustic barbeque vibe also. The only complaint was the beans were undercooked and hard in the center, otherwise the flavor was pretty good. The mac-n-cheese was incredible! It may be a little spicy for some (if you don't want a little heat). I believe it has diced jalapeño pepper in it. I had beef sausage too, and it was very good! But, the sliced brisket (moist cut) was out of this world! Absolutely phenomenal! Fork tender and seasoned well, just perfect. So moist and tender! Not a big fan of the barbeque sauce, but it was not needed. I highly recommend this place and I'm looking forward to showing it to my adult sons, who I know will love it!

Yelp
Great brisket in the Beaumont Texas area. The selection of bbq meats is good. The street corns salad and coleslaw I got as sides were well prepared and tasty. Service was good. Didn't have a problem finding a parking spot. The dinning room is good size but during lunch time when I came in it was almost completely full. Overall great lunch experience and worth a try.

Yelp
I might go 4 1/2 stars, but flavor, texture and pleasure was definately 5. On the board (menu) was "by the half-pound" or sandwitches. We ended up buying brisket by the pound... not comprehending the price was listed by the half pound. Brisket was $17, ribs were $48. Yes, by the half pound. It was clearly on the board and we were told this too by we just didnt get it. So $52 for a pound and a half was a shock. But it was worth it too (as long as you can afford it.) He gave us cuts from the fat piece and less fat piece. I have never had brisket so tender. I've seen recipies that promise this out-come but I've never had it before- not even in other BBQ places. Our server was friendly, helpful and excited to share his BBQ with us. He even gave us both a small chunk of the smoked turkey. OMG -just as good...juicy and flavorful. I didnt know it could be like that. I am glad we live 800 miles away... i couldnt bear to live close to 1701 BBQ and not go every day. But it would be on my way to the poor house if I did.

Zachary V.

Yelp
The dude at the front counter welcomed us with a big enthusiastic greet and was really nice! They had a special going on at 1 according to him, so I got a full rack of pork ribs for about 30 dollars I'd say. I was not disappointed to say the least! Split it between two other friends with some sides and I didn't have to pay too much in the end for some great food!

Yelp
I need to start this review with saying that I love barbecue. I eat barbecue often and I've probably had some of the best barbecue in Texas. 1701 BBQ is one of the nicer, cleaner BBQ spots that I've been to (on the inside). When we arrived, the line wasn't too long so we were pretty much in and out. We ordered pork ribs, brisket, and sausage. We tried to order the street corn, but they ran out. The brisket, by far, was the best of the three meats that we ordered. The brisket was very moist and we ordered the lean cut so it was moist and delicious. If I were to come back here, I'd most likely only get the brisket and I'd try some sides. The sausage was decent--it wasn't bad, but it was great either. The sausage was just okay. The ribs had good flavor, but weren't tender at all. Ribs are probably my favorite thing to order from barbecue spots and I didn't care for the ribs at all. Remember, I mentioned that I love barbecue so I eat barbecue all of the time. The pickles and barbecue sauce both seemed/tasted like they were made in-house. I would pass on both of them. The prices seemed a little pricey to me when we ordered. The prices on the menu are by the 1/2 lb. After eating the food, I knew for sure the place was pricey because the price and taste didn't match. For Beaumont, this place is a really good barbecue spot. For Texas, it's mediocre. Overall, if I could give them 3.5 stars, that would be my rating.

Yelp
1701 BBQ is well deserving of their Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ restaurants in Texas award! I randomly came here for lunch on a Sat because I had some work in Beaumont. Coming from Houston, and eating BBQ all over the country, I was impressed with 1701 BBQ. Don't believe the few negative reviews of this place, give it a shot and see for yourself. Walking in, the place is very nice and clean. They sell some merchandise and bottled bbq sauce. You order from the counter, and generally order the meat by the pound and sides after that. I tried a 1/4 lb of moist brisket, pork ribs, jalapeno cheese sausage, and turkey. For sides, I had their smothered collard greens and pepper jack mac n cheese. Everything was outstanding. My favorite thing though was their pork ribs. They were super tender to where they came off the bone clean, but they didn't fall off on their own. When you bit into it, there was still that good rib meat texture, but soft and juicy. Their rub is very peppery which I love. When you pair it with their tangy bbq sauce, it was perfect. Don't skip out on their sides as well. The collard greens were loaded with bacon and that mac n cheese was the creamiest I've had in awhile. The only thing I wish I tried was their dessert, but I was too full. Overall, 1701 BBQ is probably the best bbq in Beaumont. While it is pricier compared to other bbq joints, they do try to maintain really high quality standards. I'd 10/10 recommend them, enjoy! PS. The only thing I thought was a little odd was that I was never given any onions, pickles, jalapenos, or bread that usually comes standard at other bbq joints. I took this as a small mistake though.

Yelp
Excellent BBQ. Make sure you make it early or it may sell out! Every meat I've tried was exceptionally good.

Yelp
Pulled pork had minimal to no flavor, everything else was great! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful with making decision and explaining the cuts. It's a small place, but we had great timing an hour before closing.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try 1701's BBQ for almost 2 years since we made the move to East Texas. It made Texas Monthly's top 50 and I wanted to compare it to other Texas legends like Louie Mueller's, Black's, Kreuz Market, Smitty's, Truth, and others. My 8 year old and I finally had a chance to make it on a Saturday and I thought it would be packed! We got there around 11:30am and was mildly surprised that there were a few cars, but not a crowd!! There were only two people in front of us so it didn't take long to get to place our order! My 8 year old wanted Brisket, not just any, he told the server he wanted fatty brisket!!! (That's my boy! ) I ordered a sliced brisket sandwich, and he stacked on the brisket!!! I then told him I wanted to order BBQ to go also, but we were going to eat inside. So I ordered 1lb. of fatty brisket, 1lb. of Pulled pork, 1lb. of Smoked Turkey, and one Beef Dinosaur Rib! They also had a special going on, 1/2 of a smoked chicken for $6! Yeah, go ahead and throw that in there with the Turkey!!! Next we moved down the line a little to get our sides. I knew what the 8 year old wanted, he had been eyeing the Mac and Cheese ever since they had laid two big slices of brisket on his tray! They also gave him one of their strawberry shortcakes! I moved over and ordered their Jalapeno Potato Salad and a side of the Mac and Cheese myself!!! We ordered Sweet Tea for our drinks. Then we had a seat at one of the inside tables. The young lady working the register helped us move our food to the table! I must say everyone here was very welcoming once you entered the door and very friendly and helpful!!! Once you pay there is a place in the corner across from the register to get forks, knives,v and spoons. There is a small table right across that has condiments and napkins you can get for your table. There is a bottle of 1701 BBQ Sauce already at your table also! The inside has a very nice ambience and there are some shelves to the right as you walk in that has T-shirts, Sauces, and other items for sale! There are big blackboards behind the serving counter that list what they are serving and I think I heard the price shows per half on the prices. To the left of it behind the young lady serving sides is another Blackboard that lists the sides and desserts on it! My 8 year old didn't waste any time tearing into his sliced brisket! He loved the Mac and Cheese! It had a wonderful flavor and was made from a combination of two cheeses! My sliced brisket sandwich was piled high with plenty of meat!!! I've been dying to try their Jalapeno Potato Salad ever since I heard that they made theirs that way!!! It was really delicious with just a hint of Jalapenos in it! It wasn't overbearing even for someone that might be skittish about it being too hot! It wasn't hot at all just really flavorful! I want to say if your curious and haven't tried it yet, they can hold their own against any of the central Texas outfits!!! The brisket had a really nice and flavorful bark on it, it was really good!!! The brisket was moist and cooked to perfection! It wasn't dry and it pulled apart like it should, not overly so. Before we left, business had started picking up a little after 12:30. And it is good enough they are usually sold out by 2:00Pm!!! You won't go wrong making this a stop for some really great BBQ!!!

Yelp
Best BBQ in Beaumont if not in Texas, it's a little pricey but it's really good. I would recommend the brisket sandwich.

Yelp
This was a great place to eat. The staff was amazing and very helpful. When in Beaumont make this a must do. So I can only judge on what I tasted but I can imagine everything on the menu was made with passion. The smoked brisket was amazing as well as the smoked turkey. We the turkey sandwich was great as well. One of my favorites was the brisket Boudin. Such a great taste and would recommend all the time. The pepper jack Mac and cheese was perfect as well as there Cajun corn. It was called something else on the menu and I don't want to butcher the name so I will just say the cajon corn lol. The desert black-blue berry cobbler was a great way to finish this amazing BBQ.

Leon D.

Yelp
I was told when I got to town that this is a must and that they have leveled the BBQ game for this area way up. I found it hard to believe but YES!!!! I am a nut for pickles so I will start there. Expected something mass produced and jarred... that is not what I received. The pickles are pickles by 1701 and I must say... yall need to bottle that along with your already bottled bbq sauce. I went crazy trying to try everything on the menu. What I was able to get was pricey but well worth it. You get what you pay for!!! Everything was seasoned with balance. The smoke ring around the meats spoke for themselves not to mention the perfect bark. Macaroni and cheese is a hard thing to make in super large quantities-they got this figured out. The green beans.... thats all i will say. This BBQ is a marvel to look at but an experience to eat. Thankful I ventured here. Many thanks 1701!

David H.

Yelp
The brisket was soooo good! The sides were incredible too. Our group was fighting over the mac & cheese. We finished it off with the banana pudding, which was also incredible. If you're in the area, I would absolutely recommend. The staff made you feel like family. There was a great playlist playing. Love this place!

Yelp
The short: great bbq, amazing friendly staff, hidden gem. I travel to Beaumont every month for work, coming from Houston where there's plentiful bbq joints serving up various styles of the craft. Travis (owner) and his staff really caught me by surprise with what they are serving the local community. I couldn't try the brisket as they had sold out, but was able to try turkey and a beef rib. Both which were some of the best I've had, easily the best in this area. If you are in the area, this place is definitely worth the visit. Will be back soon !

Yelp
The best BBQ in Beaumont Texas! I loved it! Great portions! Family friendly! Old school! It's only open from 11am-2pm so you have to make sure you come early, they sell out quickly. You can tell they care for their food, better bring a reasonable amount of money, but portions are big and worth the $$. I would definitely come back here! Definitely a place to go!

Yelp
Arrived at about 10:40am on a Saturday and was fifth in line. By the time it opened there might be 30 in line. The place looked very stylish and fun, but what was truly awesome was the live music inside which was piped outside while we waited. That was FANTASTIC. The staff were spot on and very good. Focused, cool, and experienced. I had the brisket sandwich and I will admit that that was a top-5 brisket in my journey to sample all 50 of the "Texas Monthly Top BBQ." And I've sampled about 30 so far! The pulled pork was a direct hit of what pulled pork should taste like. Like watching Tiger Woods hit a fairway shot. The ribs were very good. Many make them way too sweet. This was a righteous balance of sweet, savory and peppery. Only tried two sides. Everyone raves about the potato salad. I wasn't as impressed and wished I had tried the beans. The cole slaw was better for me and quite refreshing. I think I'm over the jalapeño everything most BBQ joints do and this was right what it should be. Only disappointment was the banana pudding. Maybe it was the food coma I was starting to find myself in. Regardless it just did t scream quality like everything else.

Yelp
Saw this place on Yelp and decided to try it! We took it to go. Home was 45 minutes away - and the food was wonderful - even cold! The people were super friendly! So glad we tried this place out!

Yelp
This is a response seeing Nakita G. Review from Austin. Taste in BarBecue is personal. I have eaten all across Texas and love the variation in prep. I eat here regularly and no it is not inexpensive. But the brisket is top notch and ribs are super tender and consistent. Both sausages are great not greasy and well done. I like it like this with a pop on the skin. Dont understand the 3 at all or your elite status as an expert. Your description is not accurate and I eat there regularly not just a one pass through town. The greens are so good as well as other sides and the smoked boudin.

Yelp
This is stop 25 for us on the Top 50 BBQ list! I read some reviews that said a line started forming so get there early. We got here on the Friday of Father's Day weekend and we're first in line! However, we were not alone for long and I'd say probably 15 in line when the doors opened at 11. We ordered the brisket, both sausages, turkey, pork ribs, Mac and cheese and potato salad. The brisket was for sure in my top 10. My daughter said the turkey was the best she has had and she has had turkey at 24 other places so...she would know. My husband said the ribs were some of the "meatyest" and tender ribs he has had. The house sausage was a little dry for me. However, the jalapeño cheddar sausage was to die for. For sure a place to visit again!

Jack P.

Yelp
self service with garage waiting room ambiance but don't dismay sometimes there's live music and the Brisket and Ribs and Sausage are the best in the area the staff is so friendly that you probably won't be put off by the Houston Steakhouse prices, try it you'll like it

Yelp
Food was amazing, get there when they open because they sell out of meat. Ribs are to die for. Service was great.

Yelp
I live in Austin and I've made road trips and eaten just about every spot that's been on the Texas Monthly Top 50 list. 1701 is just as good as any of the bests. They deliver modern smartly cooked brisket, great sausage, tasty ribs, moist turkey and absolutely delicious pulled pork. The beef short ribs are a definite must have. I've been to tons of places that have oversized dino ribs and they are great but its always more than I need. The short ribs here give me the ability to have everything good about in beef ribs without having to buy an entire dino rib. The sides are all spot on, my favorite side was the collard greens. I could have used a dash of Trappy's pepper sauce on them but they were tender and delicious and I don't have a single complaint. It's refreshing to see new school central Texas BBQ in Beaumont. I have no doubt 1701 will help put Beaumont on the BBQ map and it's only a matter of time before they take a spot on the coveted Texas Monthly Top 50 list. Bravo 1701 you're great!

Yelp
Chopped brisket and pork ribs are out of this world. Good smoke layer and flavor without needing bbq sauce. Friendly service as soon as you walk in the door and all the way down the line. Cucumber salad, Cole slaw and sweet jalapeño potato salad are good. Couldn't taste jalapeño in the potato salad so no worries if you don't like spicy. 1601 decor is new age and a great place to visit.

Yelp
Cute little place (maybe a gas station before?). Painted brick and concrete floors. Meats served on aluminum trays as is the standard for bbq restaurants these days. Meats are priced by the 1/2 pound. Sides are generous serving sizes so easily shared and at $5 each makes sense. I think next time i would ask the servings be split with 2 items in one cardboard boat for each of us. Not sure that they will but it would make sense to separate especially if not eating with your other half but you want to try more than one side. We had the pepper jack macaroni and potato salad. Both really good. I had jalapeño and cheese sausage, husband had brisket. Also very good. The bbq sauce was unique and flavorful, 5/5. A bit thin but flavor spot on. They didn't have brewed tea. Negative for me. No DP either. Strike 2. Bottled water it is at TWO FIFTY! Yeah....bottled water 2.50. I get it with other flavored drinks but really? Anyway, food was solid and we would go back.

Yelp
There's something in the water in Texas. Not sure what it is but the students are really starting to surpass the teachers in the bbq game! The new generation is on fire and I'm here for all of it. 1701 Barbecue is no exception! Needless to say, I'm a huge bbq enthusiast and I am in the process of visiting all of the Top 50 joints in Texas, which brought me to 1701. We arrived on a Saturday morning February 12th, 2022 30 minutes before they opened and there were maybe 7 people in line ahead of us. The sky opened up and started raining 10 minutes before opening and the staff was kind enough to let us ALL in and wait inside. Classy! I'm not sure if this is true, but from what I saw, there were only two smokers for this joint out in the back. Two. That means no matter what, they're probably going to sell out, so get here on time! The establishment is modern and clean and tasteful. Let's get to it. The brisket was epic. On point and delicious. Super smoky! Great bark. Salty but not over salted. Awesome smoke ring. Juicy. Tender. And didn't taste like pot roast (I've had some lame brisket). Also I knew it was money by the shape of it. It was perfectly squared off and trimmed right. Checked all the boxes. Bravo! The ribs were a little different than what I get in Texas. Normally ribs from a top 50 joint are salt and pepper and that's it. These ribs had some sweetness to em, and I'm not mad about it at all. Good meat on the bones and nice pull too. Speaking of pull, the pulled pork for me was done very well. I can't stand when pulled pork is sopping wet and doused in vinegar. This pulled pork was perfectly moist with a gentle kiss of smoke. The sausage though you could tell was definitely homemade. Great casing. Great snap. Great texture. Awesome flavor. But the winner for me was their smoked turkey. I know I know no one comes to bbq for the turkey but this was on another level. I pinched my slice of turkey and watched as the juice came dripping out. And then when I ate it, it was perfectly salted. Most places over brine their turkey and hand you a dry salt lick. Not 1701, they realize that if they can smoke turkey right they can smoke almost anything right. The sides were no exception! My potato salad punched my mouth in the face with that mustard kick. Loved it. The slaw might be the best or top 3 slaws I've had in Texas bbq. But if you leave without ordering the elote salad, my friends you really have missed out. As some from Los Angles originally, I feel like I know elote and this is the best I've had outside LA. Great job to this crew! Love your cue! Make the trip to Beaumont and taste for yourself!

Yelp
Drove out to Beaumont to eat at 1701 BBQ on a nice Tuesday. I am Doing the Texas Top 50 BBQ spots. 1701 BBQ opens at 11am. My party and I arrived at 12 noon only to be disappointed as they were already SOLD OUT! Listen 1701 BBQ, you need to learn to cook more brisket as now that you are on the Top 50 list you are going to be busy! Running out of food 1 hour after you open is not cool. So if people decide to go eat at 1701 BBQ my advice is get there before they open as they do not prepare well.

Yelp
You bet pork ribs were awesome. They have a pepper like crust on it. That is very good. The brisket is good and also the sausage was also very good.

Yelp
We are making our way through the Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ joints list. This one did not disappoint, though we were sad to miss out on the highly-recommended turkey. The beef sausage was delicious and full of flavor. This isn't rated for its brisket, and we could tell why from the taste we had. But everything else was great. If you go, get the turkey for me!

Yelp
I'll give you 1701 reasons to eat at 1701 BBQ: 1. The best bbq in Texas 2. Nicest people in Texas 3. Repeat 1 and 2 Repeat 849 more times. Any slander against them is a slander to me and I will pray you stub your toe every day forever.

Yelp
One of the best barbecue joints I've been to in Texas. The meat is always tender and delicious, and the sides were our favorite part. Definitely try a dessert (we got the cobbler).

Yelp
Hands down one of the best, I've had so far, I think it's a little bit better then the pit room

Yelp
Very good brisket, ribs, sausage, and baked beans. The pulled pork sandwich we didn't really enjoy, and the potato salad was just ok. Overall it was very expensive for the portions.. I realize inflation but whewww.. our experience wasn't bad, but it wasn't a 5 star experience either. Will most likely be back!

Yelp
This is a relatively new and popular local bbq spot in Beaumont. Family business with very friendly folks. Usually runs out early about 30min to 1hr before they close. My favs on the menu: brisket and pork ribs are both very tender and flavor balanced. The beef sausage is worth a try as well. The best part of their menu are the side dishes, all of which are high quality.

Yelp
PREVIOUS REVIEW UPDATED 10/26/23 -- (Crazy Yelp site, I'm not from San Francisco, CA -- where did you get that?! It's Beaumont, TX!) UPDATE -- Manager/owner reached out to me and we had a very good discussion. It appears there were extenuating circumstances on our orders and he is as regretful about it as we were, and is willing to make it right. For which we are grateful and willing to give them another try.

Yelp
Amazing brisket it was very mouth watering. The four hour drive to eat the food from 1701 BBQ was totally worth it. I enjoy the time trying out everything that I order. The free beer was a plus.

Great BBQ. Good portions. Pricier but worth it. Friendly staff. Cabin in the woods-like setting.

Yelp
1701 BBQ Smoked Turkey Sandwich 1701 Calder Ave. Beaumont, Texas So today was the day. I knew 1701 sold some great bbq, but their smoked turkey breast is gaining some well deserved attention. For lunch I ordered the well-talked about smoked turkey sandwich. Let me say this, my sandwich with thick generous slices, moist juicy texture, and smokey taste, was the BEST TURKEY SANDWICH I have every eaten. If you shy a little from red meat, no worries, this turkey sandwich is definitely what I recommend. Add some pickles and their bbq sauce and you have heaven in your hands. With four thick slices between a warm bun, I couldn't handle it all. A sandwich that not only will excite your palates, but has incredible flavor and prepared to perfection. A lot of meat for your money and worth every bite. I ordered the cilantro slaw for my side and was not disappointed. Freshness in every bite. You know right away it is house-made. Next time you visit 1701 try this big sandwich with even bigger flavor. You will savor every bite. 1701 is always #bestbites approved.

Yelp
Great taste. It was my first time and would go back to try other things! Eat less on previous meal to save some space with good size portions at affordable prices.
