If you are looking for an authentic Italian dinner with an intimate vibe this is the place to go. On Dot Ave they foster a tucked in feeling and serve delicious dishes and drinks. You can tell the recipes are the chefs and can not be replicated elsewhere. I have gotten take out before which has been great but tonight we dined in. We got there at 5pm on the dot which is right when they open. There were already about 10 or so people filing in as we arrived. This is how you know it's a good place. By 6pm the place was almost completely packed and the 2 servers were running the show flawlessly. We got wine and a few cocktails all of which were delicious. The espresso martini tasted fresh which is always a great sign considering many restaurants batch theirs. We got the cacio e Pepe pasta and ravioli dish. They were both delicious but the ravioli's were out of this world. We then split the chocolate cake dessert and tiramisu which were also delicious. The chocolate cake was a small serving so if you want something light I would go in that direction. The tiramisu was a bit of a larger serving and easily shareable.

Glad we finally made it here! My partner and I got the pumpkin pancake, porchetta grilled cheese, and mezza maniche pasta - TASTE: 5/5 - solid throughout. Loved the grilled cheese's sweet eggplant balanced w the salty fatty pork, and the pasta's sweet sauce w savory meat. The pumpkin pancake was such a treat w strong flavors of pumpkin and cinnamon, plus lathered (not just drizzled) w a sweet lemon-hinted cream sauce TEXTURE: 4/5 - both the bread and cheese were satisfyingly thick in the grilled cheese, and completed by a light side of salad, and the rigatoni pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The single pancake, cooked in a small cast iron pan, was moist and cake-y PRICE: 4/5 - subtotal came to $59 for brunch SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - left stuffed after eating that pancake SERVICE: 3/5 - walked in at 11:30am on a Sunday, and half of the tables weren't taken yet. No one was there to greet or seat us, so it was a bit awkward standing there for a few minutes and not knowing if we could seat ourselves lol. Our food came out 20-25 minutes after ordering ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - cozy and nicely decorated space (even the bathroom too!) w a display case toward the back filled w beautiful pastries. Glad Via Cannuccia and chef Stefano are getting all of their well-deserved recognition PARKING: 4/5 - got a free 2-hour parking spot a block down on Dorchester Ave

Fantastic food in a beautifully designed and cozy Italian restaurant. Servers were attentive, genuinely welcoming and quick. This restaurant, the chef and his wife, who are the owners, and their team have raised the bar. Will certainly be back soon

AMAZING pastries. The pistachio croissant is one of the best I've ever had. Also would highly recommend the iced latte here. Excited to come back and try other menu items.

This place is a *G*E*M*. Though probably no longer a hidden one given all of their recent well-earned accolades! The pastry bar on the weekends is where it's at. You have to get there early - the savory pastries run out first and quickly. The mushroom danish is top notch, and the croissants are so buttery and flaky. The maritozzo is also their specialty, a brioche bun filled with a light whipped cream. It's like a beignet in that there is no graceful way to eat it - the whipped cream and powdered sugar will get everywhere! The brunch menu is excellent! The frittata boscaiola is huge and packed with mushrooms, it also comes with a fresh salad and very crispy roasted potatoes - no limp home fries here. The uova al pomodoro is basically shakshuka, it is delicious and my only wish is that it came with more bread to soak up all of that savory goodness. The banana bread french toast is the perfect way to round out your brunch meal with some sweetness. Dinner menu = also excellent. It's all excellent. The suppli is like arancini, crispy on the outside and ooey gooey on the inside. I got this saffron risotto that had a perfect spread. The waitstaff are always so warm and friendly, and the service is attentive. I feel so lucky that I live within walking distance of this place, but street parking isn't an impossible task if I feel like driving over. I can't wait to go soon and sit in their new outdoor patio!

I've been back for dinner twice now and I almost don't want to tell people how amazing this place is! It truly felt like being in Italy with the quality and flavor of the pastas, risotto, pizza, fresh breads, and desserts. The owner is incredible- so friendly and accommodating to allergies!! The menu changes every couple of months, which could be a pro or a con depending on how you look at it.

Hidden gem alert! Who knew amazing pastries could be found in an unassuming Italian restaurant in a random part of Dorchester. Via Cannuccia offers a wide variety of fresh baked goods that are worth the trip. We got the Brioche cream tart, Baklava morning roll, Danish with berries, and a loaf of Sourdough bread. They were all delicious and on-par with other great pastry spots like Tatte. If you are only coming for pastries, the experience is a bit hard to navigate as you are standing in line very close to tables of people eating brunch. There is no cafe style seating where you can quietly enjoy a coffee and pastry at your leisure. Instead it is set up for restaurant dining and ordering full meals. We took our pastries to go. Parking is limited to spots on the street. It wasn't too busy for a Saturday morning around 11 am which made it quick for us to grab pastries. There was a small line forming for tables so you may want to grab a reservation if you are planning to have brunch.

5 STARS! VIA CANNUCCIA IS ONE OF THE BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANTS IN BOSTON! The Food here is Phenomenal! If you live in Boston or just visiting the city, this is one of the restaurants that has to be on your bucket list.The New York Times just voted this One of the 25 Best Restaurants in Boston for 2024. THAT's a Big Deal! It beat out every Italian restaurant in Boston's famous Little Italy - The North End. That section of the city is loaded with tons of Delicious Italian restaurants. This place beat them all. Yes, it's that Good! The kicker is that it's not even in Boston; it's in Dorchester. They are open for Dinner every night closed on Tuesdays & open for Weekend Brunch. Due to overwhelming demand they are now open for Breakfast & Lunch too. So now they can cater to many different people's wallets. You can even get a pastry or croissant & coffee to go. That's great! Via Cannuccia is located in a very unassuming place. It's next to a 3 decker house, a hair salon, clothing store & drug store in a strip mall. You would walk by this place & wouldn't even give it a second look. I love places like this - a Hidden Gem. I visited on the weekend & had the Brunch. I was talking to Tsedenia the owner's wife & told her i'm very fussy about my red sauce so they gave me a sample of the red sauce to taste. It was Great. I was debating between several items so I asked Tsedenia. She recommended that I order the CROSTATA ROMANA So that's what I got. Excellent Recommendation. I would definitely get the same thing again! THE CROSTATA ROMANA CARBONARA IS A SAVORY TART WITH PANCETTA, ONIONS, EGGS, PARMIGIANO, CACAOTEA CHEESE SERVED WITH MIXED GREENS & ROASTED POTATOES. The Tart was warm & savory & the blending of the eggs & onions & cheese were so DELICIOUS & Comforting. The mixed greens popped with flavor. You could taste each & every ingredient & was perfectly balanced. The roasted potatoes tasted like someone's Italian Grandma made them. The cappuccino was also Great! I said so many times you go to Italian restaurants & you're disappointed she goes, I know. I told her this food is DELICIOUS! I said it doesn't taste like a restaurant. This tastes like homemade cooking from someone's Italian grandmother from Italy made this. She said she'll tell her husband Stefano the chef & owner the compliment. Stephano is from Anzio, a small coastal seaside Italian city outside of Rome. The name of the restaurant Via Cannuccia is named after the street that Stephano grew up on. VIA CANNUCCIA HAS DELICIOUSSSSS AUTHENTIC ITALIAN FOOD JUST OUTSIDE OF BOSTON. IT'S NOW OPEN FOR BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER & WEEKEND BRUNCH & FOR ALL DIFFERENT BUDGETS! FANTASTIC! It used to be, you had to have Mega Bucks & be really Rich to have the Good Life, not anymore. The Game has changed. You've been Upgraded. Now You Can Live Like a King on a Limited Budget!

Took me 2 hrs to get there due to traffic. After calling the restaurant to cancel they were able to reschedule our reservation for an hour later (bonus points). First time here and walking in I could see it was a special quaint restaurant. Felt like a small restaurant in Tuscany, Opted to get the 3 bean soup special....best soup I've had in a very long time. Flavors, textures and visual appeal all in harmony. Freshly baked bread, baked on the premises, was fresh warm and tasty. Salad looked liked a work of modern art and tasted even better. Pizza had a crunchy crust with flavorful toppings. Looking forward to going back and working my way through the menu. Oh yeah, fresh pasties to go!!!!!

Great little spot in Dorchester for authentic Italian. For brunch, the mushroom and potato/onion frittatas were delicious - they were huge and came with salad and roasted potatoes. The uova al pomodoro is like an Italian shakshuka and the sauce was great. We tried the brioche cream tart pastry with fresh raspberries and it was amazing! Will definitely try a croissant or other baked good next time (they're made fresh in house everyday). Prices are very reasonable and service was great. It's not too big inside but the bar that showcases the pastries at brunch turns into more seating for dinner. Will have to come back for pasta and pizza!

My real review is more of a 4.5 We had an amazing time at Via Cannuccia, there were just some kinks that need to be worked out, like any new restaurant does. I am from Italy myself, and I loved seeing that the owner is from near Rome. I love Roman food so I love the concept of authentic Roman food. The suppli was delicious, the fusilloni decadent yet light. One of the waiters is also Italian and I appreciated his kindness and him asking about what we thought about the food. You can tell they really care and want to make everyone's experience as outstanding as possible. I would say the pizza was a tad too crispy (not a real criticism for some I suppose, I just prefer the slightly more undercooked version we find in pizza al taglio in Rome), and the tiramisu was a bit thick for my liking. That being said, this Dorchester spot will become one of our go-tos and I alreasy can't wait to go back

Excellent service and even better food. There are a few seating spots. Not great for groups bigger than 5. We loved the brunch here. Also got some pastries to go.

Amazing service, menu is a tad small but everything on the menu was very thought out. we got the eggplant parmigiana, mezzi rigatoni al sugo di pomodoro, and the funghi pizza (mushroom and sausage) they were all sooo good. I didnt think anything of the pasta because it looks like a simple pasta dish but you can legit taste the freshness of the sauce like they just hand pick the tomatoes in the back somewhere. As for the pizza, they did not skimp in the toppings. overall, we will deff be back.

we had dinner here last night. I ordered the short ribs, and my husband had the double thick pork chop. outstanding ! both meals were well presented! huge! and delicious ! the owners we walking about, welcoming all the customers, and making sure all was running smooth. They were in the process of building a gazebo out front for outdoor dining. it's a small space, I suggest making reservations.

This little place was amazing! Friendly staff, friendly owner. Food was great and the pastries..... OMG!!! It's a must try in Boston.

We had an incredible meal (and time) at Via Cannuccia! For apps we got the arancini which were perfectly cooked, decadent and flavorful. The chicken cacciatore (pollo alla cacciatora) was absolutely delicious. Every bite was so flavorful and the chicken was so tender. The mashed potatoes were smooth and buttery. My mom got a short rib special with roasted potatoes that was also delicious. For desert we shared a warm raspberry tart with vanilla gelato. It was melt in your mouth good. Our server Daniele was fantastic and personable. The place is cozy, yet small so would not attempt to go without reservations (even if it's on the earlier side). 10/10 would recommend and look forward to returning. Update: Came back for brunch and it was delicious. Posted a photo of the CIAMBELLONE PANCAKE (tasted like a warm, soft cake with melted chocolate frosting. Definitely get it as a brunch dessert for the table to share - not as a standalone breakfast item. Oh so delicious!

Rooting for the genuine success of this place, they've only been open for a month so still working through a few kinks. Food though... is not one of those kinks - I was really impressed with all the food I had here. From the porchetta, suppli, short ribs, bolognese to pizza; every dish I would order again. My favorites were definitely the pizza and bolognese. Everything tasted familiar in a great way. Also love that this place is in Dorchester, I hope we start to see more high quality Italian food moving to the South Shore.

"The flakiness freshness and eggyness and right out of the oveness" is how my brother described the awesomeness of breakfast pastry which I cannot pronounce the name of. Via Cannuccia was the number one place in my Boston bakery bucket list. Just got off a red eye flight from Phoenix, brother picked me up and here we are. They opened 15 minutes past 7am open time quoted on website but boy oh boy was it worth the wait!!! Staff was kind, polite and friendly yet did not speak English. Then what I am guessing is the server arrived and appeared a bit hassled and harried, we had to ask several times for comprehensive descriptions of baked goods. My mission was singular-Maritozzo which I fell in love with on a recent trip to Rome. it is in a box in the backseat of my car along side and exquisite looking pistachio croissant will review after devouring pastry. So pistachio croissant was inhaled with ooohs and ahhs In between, had to share it with my brother because I guess that's what we do with family. Now regretting that choice cause it was that good so get your own!!!

Wifey wanted to check out this new local Italian bakery and restaurant on Dorchester ave. We stopped by for some pastries and oh my they were all very good. Sorry, was too hungry to let the phone eat first. sorry not sorry. We got a honey cinnamon scone, blueberry muffin, cream filled croissant, and the raspberry tart. All of them were very good. Wifey thought the scone was too sweet but I thought it was perfect as is (she is the 30% sugar in her boba kinda gal). The blue berry muffin was the most interesting because it had little bits of chocolate chips in it. When wifey mentioned that after she tried it, I was reluctant to give it a try but I love blue berry muffins! That combination works really well, who knew and has been keeping this from us! The muffin was packed with blue berries with the bits of the chocolate chips at the muffin bottom edges. We will definitely check them out for brunch and dinner. They don't have an extensive dinner menu but everything is homemade so I don't mind as long as it's as good as their pastries! Welcome addition to the neighborhood and look forward to our next visit. It's also conveniently across the street from my dry cleaner.

Just Awesome. Came here for breakfast and was blown away by the pastry and specialty bread offerings at the counter. The frittata was also delicious. It's a DOT Ave gem.

The food is so good here. I wanted to try the pizzas and was pleasantly surprised they did take out as well. Worked out great. The service is always on point here. Highly recommend!! Make a reservation!!!

Likely some of the best pastries in Boston. The line gets long fast though so try to get there earlier - the staff is super friendly. Highly recommend!

Ok, so I don't 100% get the hype about this place... it was good, don't get me wrong, but it didn't totally blow me away either. My margarita pizza was delicious but the other dish I tried was so-so. It was a pasta special and the pasta was supposed to be tagliatini but was instead what looked like spaghetti that had been cut into bit-sized pieces? Very odd. The bread they served at the start was warm and fresh. The burrata appetizer we got was good but nothing too exciting. Service was fine, nothing to complain about there, and the ambiance was cozy and comfortable. So yeah, a mixed bag. I will definitely be back again for their pizza but I think I will probably steer clear of their pasta in the future.

This was our third visit to this gem. The food is awesome and service was flawless our first two times. This visit the service was way off. We sat for about 15 minutes before a server even came to us. We placed a drink order and that took another 20 minutes. After another 10 minutes we were finally brought bread and olive oil. Our observation was that 1st they now have a full liquor license but apparently they do not have a dedicated bartender. The gentleman mixing drinks appeared to also be a server. All the servers were running around like crazy even though the room was only about 80% full. Our other two visits there seemed to be the same amount of servers, the room was full to capacity and the service was flawless. Secondly it looked like all the servers were spending an awful long time struggling to input things into what appears to be a new computer/ordering system. I mean a long time. Once the chefs wife and co-owner arrived around the middle of our meal things seemed to calm down. She definitely runs the show. We'll continue to return and hope their system is making things simpler and maybe they'll have a dedicated bartender.

I saw this restaurant on instagram, and when I checked yelp and saw that it had a FIVE STAR RATING I knew I had to go to Dorchester and try via cannuccia out! The restaurant is small and packed, and I showed up for my reservation at 8 pm on time. They asked my friend and I to wait at the bar while they got a table ready (and gave us a prosecco on the house), but they only had one seat at the bar available for the first twenty minutes they were there. They offered bread also while we were waiting that was fresh but not warm, and even after offering bread while we were waiting, we had to remind them 20 min in to actually get it for us. At that point, another seat cleared at the bar, so we sat permanently at the bar (a table never ended up opening up for us, despite having a reservation). Here's what we ordered: Cacio e pepe arancini-delicious! Loved the combination of two italian dishes I love! Fresh tuna with homemade spaghetti with mollica (toasted breadcrumbs)- this was fresh and not too heavy, it was wonderful! Eggplant parmigiana- not too big and not sure if it's a unique way they fry it or make the breading, but the dish itself is my favorite eggplant parmigiana i've ever had in boston! Hazelnut semifreddo with orange- I love hazelnut and they said it came with nutella I would have loved more of a nutella flavor -(maybe as a topping, but it's possible there were small pieces inside?) but it was tasty overall!

The dish I ordered for takeout barely managed to fill half the tin I took it home in. I spent 23 dollars on a dish that wasn't impressive in the taste, portion or appearance department at least compared to surrounding restaurant -1 star Experience: 1. After I placed my takeout order (which was supposed to take 20 - 25 minutes to make: their estimate). The restaurant called me nearly 20 minutes later to tell me they didn't have the ingredients to make one of the dishes. So this means they either didn't start on it for 15 minutes OR an in-house patron placed an order using those ingredients and they gave my dish to them or prioritized making their dish over mine.-1 star 2. When I arrived with my friend we decided to not get an alternative to the dish we ordered on the phone. Please tell me why we waited in the restaurant for an additional 10 to 15 minutes for them to make the dishes that apparently they had the ingredients for. So we arrived around 7 and got out of their past 7:30. Mind you we placed out order around 6:40pm. -1 star 3. The hostess tried to make it my fault that they didn't have the ingredients to make the dish that I wanted. On the phone when I was trying to make a decision on an alternative dish she was rushing me off the phone as if I was the problem. Also we ordered rice balls as an appetizer. I couldn't/wouldn't attempt to pronounce the fancy Italian name for rice balls so she kept correcting me on the name on the phone. Lady, I don't care what you call these rice balls in Italy. Call them whatever you want over there. Overe here they are rice balls. Don't put customers through the wringer over petty things like that. Sheesh! -1 phantom star I'm trying very hard to be fair. The experience was so aggravating that I wanted to one star them but I can't justify that by reasons alone. Via Cannuccia. Please do better!

I cannot believe I waited so long to visit this spot!! It's been on my list for a while, and wow I'm glad I went. We visited for brunch where we were able to easily make a reservation for a Saturday morning. We were able to order the pastries to our table and opted to get a savory option as well. Side note - their potatoes are probably one of the best I've ever had (garlicky and crunchy)! Everything was delicious and our servers were so attentive (and funny too!). I will definitely be visiting again!

Yum! A friend had recommended Via Cannuccia. It took me awhile to get there. It won't take me awhile to return. The zucchini frittata was so delicious! Subtle flavors and so fresh. The latte was great. Yum all around.

We've spent a lot of time in Italy. We've had Pesto in Genoa, Tagliatelle Bolognese in Bologna, Suppli in Rome, and Pizza Margherita in Naples. The last thing we could ever imagine was to find an authentic Italian Trattoria 4 minutes from our home ... IN DORCHESTER !!!! We went to Via Cannuccia with two well travelled friends on a Saturday evening. We decided to try as much of the menu as we could and coordinated our dishes. Appetizers were Mussels with Parsley Pesto, Chef's Caesar Bowl , Eggplant parmesan, and Suppli Cacio e Pepe. The generous portion of large mussels in Parsley Pesto were cooked perfectly, the rendered broth just needed to be sopped up with bread, The Chef's Caesar Bowl a Chopped Salad, hearty, tasty and perfectly seasoned. Eggplant Parmesan is served uniquely crispy. The Cacio Pepe Suppli was as good as any Suppli from "The Pizzarium" in Rome. Entrees were Pasta Aglio Olio Peperoncino, Fettucine all Bolognese, Spaghetti alla Chitarra and Fusilloni alla Gricia, All were amazing. The Fusilloni alla Gricia was my favorite, exquisite, creamy, cooked perfectly. We shared a PIzza Margherita for the table to see what the buzz was about, it was a wonderful, adaptation for an American audience, Crispy in the bottom and edges, with some height in the middle, outstanding. Wine list is reasonably priced, and well thought out. Our waiter recommended an Italian Chardonnay, which was luscious, and dry with a hint of minerality, but none of the viscous notes so prominent in American Chardonnays. It could easily hold its own with any French Chablis, or White Burgundy of the same price point. Desserts were Tiramisu and Crostata Sbriciolare with ice cream. Tiramisu did not disappoint, but the Crostata Sbriciolare stole the show for us, it's a triumph for the chef. We went back on Sunday morning to get pastry. to take home ... I can't make pastry on Sunday morning a regular thing, or I won't fit through the doors on my next visit.. No need to go to the North End for Italian food, there is no place in the North end or anywhere in Boston that can compete with Via Cannuccia, This is the restaurant the city has been waiting for, this is the restaurant the city needs, this is the restaurant you MUST try.

A must try. Started off with the Spicy Aperol Spritz... 10/10 recommend. We ordered the Cacio e Pepe Rice balls which were so delicious. We had to try the signora Eggplant Parmigiana which was served with the most flavorful and delicious pesto basil I've ever had. For entrees we tried the Bolognese and the Fusilloni alla gricia which was so light and refreshing. Our server was attentive and respectful. The ambiance felt like we were in a small restaurant in Italy - the art on the walls is fantastic. We will definitely be back!

WOW WOW WOW what a beautiful new restaurant in Dorchester. We could not get a reservation on a Saturday night so we decided to wait until they opened their doors at 5 pm to sit at the bar and so glad we did. Our bartender Joseph was phenomenal. They have a great wine list and cocktail menu. I started with their Old Fashioned which was perfect. My husband had a glass of Montepulciano, which was excellent. They serve warm bread and olive oil, but don't fill up on it and save your appetite for the starters. We shared the Suppli Cacio e Pepe (rice balls) which were small but delicious. We then ordered a bottle of their Nebbiolo to have with our entrees. I ordered the Ravioli, light and fluffy, and my husband had their Lasagna which was the best I have ever had. For dessert, we shared the Olive Oil cake which I thought was a bit dry but still good. What topped off our night was meeting the Chef, and I thanked him for a wonderful evening and the incredible wine and food. Hope this restaurant is on your bucket list after reading my review and if you can't get a reservation I highly recommend going a bit earlier to sit at the bar and/or kitchen bar because they have both. A dining experience that you truly won't forget! Cheers!

Food is nuanced and delicious - more interesting than many Italian restaurants. Service is friendly, the waiter gave very good recommendations. The restaurant is a little unexpected, but very well accepted in the neighborhood. The owners are really nice and manage the restaurant really well! Oh - and the pastry? Don't get me started...

A hidden GEM! The whole experience was extraordinary! Food was exceptional ~ Stefano brings the authentic taste of Italy to his patrons. We haven't experienced a meal of this quality in years. We used to go to the North End, & to many other upper-scale restaurants and Via Cannuccia has surpassed them on many levels. Staff/waitress, Dora, Daniella & bartender Carlmilo (sorry if I spelled any names incorrect), ambiance & cleanliness = A+. The Eggplant Pizza OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Every dish we ordered was phenomenal ~ so flavorful! Truly a taste of Italy. Wine list & drinks = quality. Thank you to All! Looking forward to returning soon & often.

Tasty, authentic Italian at a charming intimate trattoria in Dorchester! The staff is incredibly gregarious and gracious. Generous portions at a fair price. Went for dinner & will be back for dinner, brunch or to grab pastries and coffee to go. 2 of us split the Suppli Cacio e Pepe (fried rice balls), mussels, beet salad, a large pizza and we took half the pizza home. For dessert we had the Banana Nutella Bread Pudding (special menu item) and the chocolate cake with sorbet. 10/10

Had heard such great reviews about this restaurant and happy to say that it does live up to our expectations when it comes to food. We started off with some cocktails. I got the spicy Aperol spritz and it was okay (nothing special). For appetizers we got the cauliflower salad, mussels and burrata. Everything was super delicious and good portion sizes. For mains, we got the pizza, baked mushroom special and bolognese pasta. Again, everything was super tasty. Their flourless chocolate cake is a must try. The only reason I docked a star was because the service felt very rushed. Overall, great place with a nice ambience.

I have not eaten from this establishment as yet. Looking forward to eating there one day. Notice they set up outdoor dining and it's a 20 minutes walk from my house less than five minutes drive. They need to actually change their menu to have more friendly items for children as well and adults.

Horrible horrible service. Nobody brought us water or bread so flagged down someone after waiting 5-10 minutes for each. We asked what they would recommend, the waitress said I don't know, I don't know....red flag....Then we ordered. After waiting 45 minutes for our food to arrive, the waitress came to us and said "another waiter gave your food to another table and closed our order. And was not pleasant about it. Also, That didn't make any sense - how did three entrees end up at the wrong table (and eaten?) without anybody saying anything....she took our order again and put it in she says. But it really just seems like she forgot to put in our initial order. So then we wait again....went through two bottles of Pellegrino and two baskets of bread... Got the scallops in curry special (it was fine), the gnocchi (the eggplant on it was bland) and duck ravioli (had a spice I didn't recognize...cumin maybe? Not sure but Not what I was expecting). Then we asked if there were any chocolate desserts. She said there was a banana chocolate pudding that's not on the menu or written on the specials. We got it. Could taste almost no chocolate and was dry. Basically banana bread pudding (which is what the person who brought the dish over called it) that was meh. This is my third time here trying really hard to like this place because it gets good reviews and the owner is a friend of a friend. But service keeps getting consistently worse. And food is just meh. This place seems always packed, I don't get it. I hear the owner/chef is a nice guy. But if he doesn't fix his staff/wait issues I don't think this place will last.

So tempted to give a negative review just to discourage others from finding this hidden gem. Small, intimate space, but such a comfortable setting. Food is simply amazing. Loved the eggplant parm appetizer, and lasagne special was so tasty yet not overfilling. Staff is very attentive and kind. Love this place!

Better than Tatte. If you're a Dorchester Foodie, you've got to check out the newly opened Via Cannucia (1739 Dorchester Ave). The pastries - for now on Saturday and Sundays - are to die for! They also have dinner service throughout the week. My wife loved the sourdough boule and my daughter and I feasted on an assortment of croissants and pastries that were each more delicious than the last.

We were recommended this place by a friend. They had just updated their menu when we went and it was delicious! The service was great! I recommend making a reservation since it seems most people do and they have limited walk in availability. We tried their quinoa salad and it was amazing. All of the ingredients complimented each other and was very filling. The rice balls we got for antipasto were the best rice balls I've ever had. Crispy on the outside and warm and gooey inside with a delicious sauce on top. The gnocchi was incredible as well and a perfect portion size. We finished with their strawberry bread pudding with chocolate sauce. My mom loved the chocolate sauce on top! Will definitely come back again!

Food was delicious and was shocked by the crispness of our home fries. The burger was almost like a meatball burger which was lovely. Food was on the greasier side though and tends toward a more a more traditional American palate. The restaurant is beautifully decorated for Christmas. Love the family story behind this restaurant.

This place is amazing. We came for brunch, the staff is very friendly .. the food... The Food is AMAZING . It melts in your mouth everything was amazing I would give more stars if possible. We ordered the special Lasagna with basil pesto and the Fritata Calabrese, and a chocolate and almond croissant. The croissants melt in your mouth and are so buttery even the macchiato and tea were amazing. 10's across the board. Highly recommend!

I need to go a second time to do it justice. Restaurant owners from the Northend heard positive rumors about the place. I was told , the owner/chef was from Italy and it was like eating on Hanover Street. I was excited because I work in Dorchester and a very convenient location! 2 months ago was the first time and only time , I ate there, the waiter didn't inform me of the specials. Then after I had ordered from a very limited menu, I saw them written on a black board. The waiter was inept, and very inexperienced. Since it's a fairly new restaurant, I must give it another try! The ambience was okay. The restaurant was cozy and full of customers who were enjoying the specials!
