This place was amazing. We went here for the first time to grab breakfast. I was nervous because the line was long but it moved pretty quickly. The breakfast sandwich on sourdough was amazing. We also got one on an English muffin and it was delicious as well. My husband and I both got a peppermint mocha. Mine was hot and his was iced, they were both very yummy. We also ended up getting a few pastries for later which were all amazing as well. I can’t wait to go back! Thank you for the delicious food and good service.

One of the best breakfast sandwiches ever! I had The Breakfast Sandwich on sourdough. Amazing! The bacon was delicious. The sourdough was incredible. We also got some of the pastries (savory and sweet) which were to die for! It's a hole in the wall and so worth a visit!

Ok, so I think this is one of the cutest cafés of all time! I was camping at Little Talbot Island State Park, but felt like venturing into town to grab a bite to eat and I knew that I definitely wanted a nice coffee - in this place far exceeded my expectations. I got "the breakfast sandwich" on an English muffin and just a regular cappuccino. Both were 10/10. I think the greens on the sandwich must've been dressed with a little bit of lemon juice because there was a bit of pip to the sandwich, which I really enjoyed. On my way out I purchased a Dram sparkling water (holy basil and lemon) and also the peanut butter brownie, I also highly recommend both of these! And the staff there was incredibly kind!!

Bessssst pastries I have ever had. Their bread is so heavenly idk how they get it to taste so good but you must try one of their treats or sourdough bread! I am usually a dislike-er of sourdough, but my husband got their breakfast sandwich that comes on sourdough bread and I tried a bite… I think I fell in love. Their chocolate croissant and their brie/ blueberry danish were also so mouthwatering and buttery omg. I’m just dreaming about when I come back next!! This coffee shop is a true hidden gem! The shop has been passed countless times, unaware of the delightful experience. Upon entering, numerous buckets of vibrant, garden-fresh flowers were immediately visible. The ambiance was charming, and the display case of pastries was truly tempting, especially the enormous butter croissants. The iced chai latte and breakfast sandwich were a great choice. And then there’s the bakery case, overflowing with treats that will stop you in your tracks: vegan strawberry muffins, flaky croissants, hearty breakfast sandwiches (they’ll happily swap bacon for tomato), and matcha lattes where they don’t skimp on the matcha. Don’t miss the hand pies, filled with carrot, onion, and feta, perfectly seasoned to brighten your morning. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed. Soft music hums overhead, blending into the chatter of customers who can’t wait to dig in the second their food arrives—only to finish within minutes and look a little sad it’s already gone. Many, like us, head back for more to take home, despite swearing we wouldn’t. (We caved for a blueberry muffin, and yes, it disappeared just as quickly!) The staff? Beyond friendly. They didn’t just take our order—they asked questions, offered thoughtful suggestions, and made the whole process smooth, even with a line forming behind us. With plenty of staff on hand, no one waits long. Whether you’re visiting for the weekend or lucky enough to live nearby, this is a place worth enjoying again and again.

absolutely phenomenal. I was in the area and walked into this place without knowing what I was getting into and wow... I'm so glad I discovered this gem. I only got the seasonal toast 10/10. Such a great combo of flavors. The best part was the bread, idk how they make it but I could literally eat the plain bread that comes with the toast its sooooooo good. Service was great, everyone was super kind and helped me decide what to order. A very personal and warm atmosphere! Will be back for sure

Delicious food, fresh ingredients. The salads are incredible - I highly recommend the tarragon chicken salad. Absolutely delicious fresh baked pastries are all amazing. Sometimes I just get a side of bacon and tomato with a pastry - a perfect breakfast. And the kombucha selection is on point! With such great food in this very hip bakery/cafe, you will not go wrong for lunch or breakfast. While the ingredients are great, I've found almost all their sandwiches (except the BLT) to be a little heavy handed. They pack too much. Huge slice of bread with a thick layer of greens and too many ingredients. Would like more simple sandwiches. The atmosphere is great, but there is not a lot of seating. This is made worse by people hogging tables unreasonably, such as while waiting for a to go order or over half an hour after finishing their meal, and the bakehouse seems to encourage that. It wouldn't be a problem if there wasn't such minimal seating. And the outdoor area is not very pleasant. But the staff is extremely nice. They are all very friendly people who clearly love working here. However you came upon this place - whether driving by, seeing them at the arts market, or just on Yelp - this is a stop worth checking out. I will certainly keep coming back.

The food is so good I will go to Riverside Arts Market just to get a loaf of bread. The staff is always dressed in eclectic styles to match the cool vibes that this bakery/coffee shop/third place meeting spot :) I have always been 10/10 satisfied after eating here. It's also the perfect place to buy someone a unique gift with 904 flare.

Small, cute coffee shop and so much more. I've been hooked on this place since the first time I tried it. Now I can't be near it without stopping in. My fave has to be the "Everything" pastry. It's so soft and fluffy and the cream cheese justs gives it an extra kick! The staff is so nice and friendly always smiling. If you are looking for a good pastry item, good coffee, or a gift for someone that isn't an everyday type of gift, this is your spot!

I recently attended a farm tour event and was delighted to discover a new eatery on our tour. The establishment was bustling with activity and situated in the heart of Springfield. The menu showcased farm-fresh ingredients, and I opted for the mojo chicken salad. Although I had anticipated a sandwich, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a visually appealing salad. The pesto sauce was exquisite, and the tomatoes were a vibrant red, indicating their freshness. Overall, it was a delightful culinary experience with top service. I highly recommend.

Delicious!!! Baked goods, fresh salads, yummy sandwiches, ... all reasonably priced for the quality and quantitiy. This cute, little place is snuggled into the Springfield community. Street parking is usually easy to find. The staff are kind, attentive, and timely. It's not a large place, so you might have to wait a bit for a seat but seated customers are mindful when new customers are waiting. ** They also have cute items for sale. I'll go back to buy items closer to Christmas time.

So, I went to 1748 Bakehouse, all hyped up for some pie--because, I mean, their Google listing and website are basically a shrine to pies. They even have a whole tutorial on how to care for your pie like it's some delicate pet. But when I got there... no pies. Zero. Zilch. I asked the guy behind the counter, "Hey, where are the pies?" And he casually says, "Oh, we only have pies around the holidays." Wait, what? So, pies are like a seasonal mythical creature here? You spend all year teasing me with pie pics and tips, only to reveal it's a once-a-year deal? That's like a restaurant being famous for its unicorn steaks--oh, but sorry, the unicorns only show up in December. Anyway, I settled for a muffin and a pastry, and yeah, they were pretty good. But still, my pie dreams were crushed.

If I'm in Jax, I MUST go to 1748 Bakehouse! The galettes are by far my favorite. Whether sweet or savory, they are always eye-rollingly amazing! Their coffee is also so tasty and well balanced. Everyone who works there is beyond friendly and knowledgeable. I also love browsing their gift area as I know there will always be something fun or delicious to discover.

Yum! I managed to catch them just 10 minutes before close on a Sunday, I was with a friend shopping next door and she said- lets check out that bakery! They had three different flavors of quiche! I went with the ham, Gruyere and asparagus one and my girlfriend opted for the feta, artichoke, red peppers and onion one. We both enjoyed the delicious flaky crust and the filling! I splurged on the blackberry citrus loaf- the icing was spot on and made the loaf a bite of flavor perfection, the loaf without icing was a bit on the dry side, but still yummy. My friend got the gluten free, nutella brownie- she said it was good, fudgey and had a hint of nutella. I also snagged a seasonal tea- very good, on the sweet side. I would see if they have it unsweetened next time, but I am so happy we managed to get some delicious food before they closed!

Bread is a weakness. If I find a great bakery, I'll keep going like the energizer bunny. I haven't had anything I didn't like. I've tried food and drinks. Their pastries are so buttery and flaky. I'm truly addicted. The staff is so friendly. I swear I was there 5 days in a row after my first visit. Great little bake shop in Springfield. They close at 3 so be sure to get there early. You won't be disappointed.

Typically the pastries here are delicious and very allergen friendly. I love that they have so many vegan options!!! I actually went to see gluten free pastries and I was a little disappointed that when I went this morning there were only cookies! The cookie was still delicious but I guess I was just expecting something else.

I have literally found a new fav coffee shop. It's amazing, super nice and cute on the inside with plenty of seating. I was pleasantly greeted both times I came in by the baristas. I talked with her about the level of sweetness that I like with my coffee and ended up getting a iced caramel latte with oat milk. Let me not forget to mention that all of the syrups are house made. But my latte was perfect I didn't need no more of anything in it. I ended up ordering the breakfast sandwich that comes with bacon, eggs and greens. I got it on a English muffin and chose to get a egg white instead. It was sooooo yummy that I had to double back the next day and I must say they made my same exact order back to back with no problems. Here I am wishing I could go again.

Visiting from Miami we decided to stop by and try out this cafe. The ambiance is very cozy and welcoming and the customer service was so friendly. The drink I ordered was the best caramel latte I've ever had ! The French toast was also delicious. I would definitely come back here if I'm in town.

The food here is an among! I cannot say enough great things about it. The coffee is also tasty and they make some syrups themselves! The place is super cute on the inside but it is not very big. The staff are friendly and helpful!

Well, if you live close to here, theres no need to tell you to go here. You should already be a regular. Vegan yes, Fresh yes, Friendly yes. Delicious absolutely. Coffee Shop, Cafe, Sit & Chill, Bistro/ToGo items etc. Cool vibe, i love it. Park on the street and walk back to the cafe. Its worth it. If you not far away this is a must. Thx again and ill be back for sure.

I love 1748 Bakehouse! The food is divine and the staff is consistently extra pleasant!! I love the chia pudding (which they have several flavors of)! The baked goods are divine too!

Not only is the coffee good but the bake goods are made on site and what we had was awesome! Parking is on the street or in the back off of 8th street. I was lucky to pull right into a space on Main St.

After a chilly morning downtown, I decided to hit up this bakeshop. Upon entry you could smell coffee wafting the place. Ordered myself a chai latte with oatmilk and lavender syrup-- and for the price I got a great deal. Also got chia pudding and their mojo chicken sandwich. The chia pudding didn't skimp out on the fruits and almonds at all. The sandwich was quite filling. They also have the option of making it into a salad should you wish. Definitely will come back again to try other selections.

Wowza. Have been wanting to try this place for quite some time, and as we were in the area, today was the day. It is such an attractive spot. Seating inside and out, pleasant music, warm and inviting decor. They have a lovely case of baked goods to salivate over, and their menu selections are on the wall. I opted for the Breakfast Sandwich on toasted Sourdough Bread. The bread was perfectly crunchy and had that gentle tang of a sourdough. The bacon was salty and crispy, the egg runny and delicious. All in all it was an amazing sandwich. One small drawback to the sourdough is that you don't get everything in each bite as the egg is in the middle, so you work your way there. WIth the English Muffin you would get all the ingredients in each and every bite. Just a heads up if that is important to you. I found it amazing anyway. I also ordered a side of their salted Fingerling Potatoes. They were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of salt. Portion was sharable due to the size of the sandwich I had. I also had a chai iced tea with oat milk. First time for oat milk for me, and the chai was just perfect. Not too overpowering, but you knew it was there. We had an opportunity to speak with the owner and she was delightful. They opened not too long before Covid, and she said they've done okay and are thankful for the word-of-mouth that they get, and I can see why that is plentiful! This is a must visit spot. I saw several items in their take away case that would be great for dinner too. They have soups, pot pies, even fresh fruit and veggies to go. What a wonderful idea to come for breakfast and grab dinner too! Can't wait to go back to try some of their other menu items and I saw several dishes walk past that I have on my must order next time list.

Stopped in for lunch at the Bakehouse while traveling through. Found this to be an eclectic and charming bakery with amazing sandwiches and great staff. The overall vibe of the shop was really warm and inviting. Everything was very fresh and delicious. Highly recommended!

Stopped in here for breakfast. I was being hosted by some locals and they raved over the breakfast sandwich. And with good reason. The sourdough bread was cut (almost too) thick, toasted, with a medium egg, thick cut crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, and optionally added kimchee. The kimchee was pretty mild but added another nice crunch component. The staff was really friendly and it was clearly a local haunt. The other pastries and baked goods (many of which were vegan/gluten free) all looked and smelled amazing. This little home-grown shop is definitely worth a try.

A hip little bakeshop with cafe fare as well. I resisted the urge to order what appeared to be a splendid French Toast in favor of the slightly healthier chia pudding. While not as sexy, it was very good and had fruit, almonds, and a bit of brown sugar on top. They actually had two different chia pudding options. My chai latte I asked for unsweetened, and still had plenty of flavor. It wasn't that big, though. The baked goods spread was enormously appealing, and I sampled a peach-based muffin, which was richly delicious. The drink options didn't wow me, but the baked goods seem very much on point.

If I could give them a 5+ I would. There customer service is beyond outstanding, I placed a large order and was to pick it up at 9:15 on a Sunday morning , When I got there they said that they had not packaged it yet and it would be about 20 more minutes. They apologized and apologized! 20 minutes later the order was ready and they gave me several extra items due to them being late. I thought this was more than generous but they weren't done! They gave me a $50 gift certificate and took $75 off my bill, AMAZING! By the way, their food was exquisite and was enjoyed by all. On a side note their breakfast sandwich is the best I have ever had. A TRULEY WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!!!!

Ahhh this place is so everything! Lol its adorable walking in, small quaint, as Carla said in her review it's like a warm hug! :) They have a display case where they show off all their baked goods, everything looked amazing and it's hard to pick what to get! I ended up getting a turkey sandwich made on their homemade bread, it was excellent and reminded me of eating my grandparents fresh bread. I got a few Galettes with roasted veggies and cheese inside, a sweet cheese danish...so far everything yum! Then I saw they have prepared meals too!! What! and the prices were reasonable...they had a bacon wrapped meatloaf with roasted fingerling potatoes($16) garlic butter steamed broccoli ($5) house made pimento cheese ($5)and fresh English muffins($5)! I have tried all of it and it was so good! I will use all that to make lunch for myself for the week! I loved it here, will definitely stop in again!

Out of my 30-plus years on this earth, this has been the worst restaurant/bakery experience. This morning, I decided to stop in and catch up on some reading while I waited for my daughter and her robotics team to finish their meeting. A quick Google Maps search took me to a parking spot in front of the shop. Upon entering, I thought it would be a warm environment based on the décor and friendly cashier. While I looked at items on the wall, one of their employees kept their eyes on me (as if I were planning to steal something). I thought it odd, but After looking at the intriguing items on display, I ordered a muffin, a Matcha Latte with almond milk, and an espresso, then asked for the WIFI. The cashier told me, but I forgot and decided to ask again when my food arrived. Before the staff member could finish, the owner aggressively stated we don't provide WIFI on the weekends as it doesn't fit my business model. Instead, I read my PowerPoint without their WIFI as I ate my food and tried to enjoy my coffee. Moments later, I was asked (more so told) to switch to a bar area so others could be seated. While this was a little abnormal, I was upset by how rude and condescending the employee was as she asked (more like told) me to move. Finally, I am at the bar, and this man walks up, reaches over my drinks, and mentions something about my laptop. Completely invading my personal space, a staff member walks over and gets him out of the way. She then asks if I am okay. At this point, I am overwhelmed. I packed my laptop, left my food and drinks, dodged out of the door, and headed to my car in tears. Please note that all of this happened in a matter of 20 minutes. Also, note that there are signs on the napkin holders (Looking back, I should have taken a picture) that mention their rules for WIFI. However, I didn't break any rules, and I was a paying customer who planned on eating my food, drinking my coffee and espresso, and heading back to my daughter's meeting. This bakery/restaurant was the most unwelcoming environment I have ever encountered as a black woman and human. I can not believe this place is thriving in this lovely Jacksonville community. I have taken my laptop out at many restaurants while dining alone. Some of those restaurants are Hawkers (during lunch), Cowford (dinner), First Watch (brunch), and many more. Typically, on Saturdays, while my husband is watching football. I mentioned the examples to point out that this restaurant owner should have chosen a better business model and needs to treat paying customers/humans with respect. The random guy who walked in off the street was treated with more dignity than I was. Thanks for reading about my experience. If you decide to try this place out, I hope you have a better experience than I did.

The food quality has gone down and it might have something to do with the owner putting the energy towards a Cracker Barrel looking gift shop in the front of the Bakehouse. Galettes are cracked and dry. Coffee tastes burnt. Sad to see this place change so much over the years.

I think 1748 Bakehouse has a piece of my heart. There's just something about it - EVERYTHING about it that demands your love. It's a charming little place. Only a few tables, so be prepared to eat in your car or bring it home. I am always impressed with the diverse selection of sweet and savory baked goods. I've had quite a few of their pastries which are made using seasonal ingredients. They also have meals to-go and a fridge full of other house made or local goodies. In today's adventure, we came back for the second day in a row to get galettes and a breakfast sandwich. We ate that breakfast sandwich in the car, and wanted another one so badly that we went in AGAIN to get a breakfast sandwich. It's clear that their food is made using intentional ingredients. Everything from here just tastes better. During the summer months, I always keep a lookout for their tomato pie. It's legendary. Be prepared to walk a bit, because parking on Main Street can be a battle. But don't let it deter you. 1748 is worth it.

We were in the area and my sister had heard great things about this place so we decided to give it a try. It's such a cute little spot with many assorted goodies to choose from. I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich and a vanilla latte. Let's start with the latte. It was perfect. Just the right amount of vanilla and the coffee itself was delicious. The breakfast sandwich was amazing. The bacon was cooked perfectly as well as the egg. Cooked to perfection. Every bite was delicious. Next time I will try it on their freshly made English muffins as number 1 they look delicious and number 2 you would probably have a perfect bite every single time. There were so many things I want to go back and try so I will definitely be back. Great place to visit if you are in the area.

I had the bacon/egg/cheese breakfast sandwich with an English muffin and I literally haven't stopped thinking about it and how good it was.. the smoked mayo they had on the sandwich was PERFECTION. they were so friendly and they had a lot of cool items for sale in the storefront as well! Loved it! EDIT: also bought the everything pastry and heated it up later that day and ate it... Fantastic!!

A rainy Saturday morning brought my best friend and I for some home baked goodness. I had the sourdough breakfast sandwich....it tasted amazing! That bread was perfection!!!!! It was buttered and toasted with a farm fresh egg and some thick bacon and fresh field greens! Ok, between you and I....I was full, but I could have eaten another one just because they flavor was amazing!!!! Shhhhhh!!! She had the same sandwich and loved it and went back just for some buttered sourdough toast! I usually buy my products at the riverside arts market, but had been really wanting to go to the shop. It was quaint and very pleasant! Only thing is....I'd love to see some gluten free options for goodies!!!! Anything!!! I promise to be your best customer if you do! A lovely experience and such a beautiful shop housing so many local companies things!

The food was really delicious! There is very limited seating, not many dining tables or chairs at all. I would recommend the breakfast sandwich and the cappuccino. They have amazing kombucha also.

I loooove their granola- it's definitely a must try. I grab a couple bags each time I stop by or see them at Riverside Arts Market. The price is around $10 for a bag of granola, which can be really unfortunately really pricy for some people. Their house made pesto is also delicious.

I remembered the owners being over My Grandmother's Pie awhile back and had known that they'd opened this place in Springfield (late congrats by the way) but I hadn't been in that area in a really long time. Nowadays, I'd find my opportunity to try them out due to a hankering for a breakfast sammy. Due to some car drama, I needed to get breakfast delivered. Luckily Grubhub came through. I ordered The Breakfast Sandwich (egg, bacon, local greens, spicy mayo) with a choice of sourdough toast or english muffin. I went with the sourdough toast as that's my favorite. I also got a cold latte with oat milk and lavender syrup. That's just kinda been my thing lately and I must try this concoction at every establishment that carries it. The delivery person actually brought it early and dropped it off at my door. The sammy was the perfect way to start the day. The greens were fresh and crisp while the egg was fried just right with a somewhat runny center that complemented the mayo as a "counter sauce", that makes sense. The latte was very good. I'm not sure what coffee they use but it was quite tasty. I'd definitely eat from them again.

Have you ever visited a place and it makes you feel like you're getting a big, warm hug (but not in a weird or creepy way)? Well 1748 is the place to go if you're in need of comfort or a metaphorical hug. I was in the area for a meeting and I've been wanting to try 1748. Parking can be gnarly, as it's street parking, so you may have to walk a bit. I walked in and this place was quaint. Super cute inside with breadboards lining the walls, a few tables and counter seating and a counter full of freshly baked delights welcomed me while I waited in line. Everything looked delicious and I had some problems making a decision as to what to order. When I got to the counter, I asked the woman working what she would recommend: the egg sandwich or the sourdough toast. She said the breakfast sandwich can be a little heavy, so if you're in the mood for something a bit lighter, she suggested the sourdough toast and I could add bacon or an egg. I opted to order bacon on the sandwich and a cold brew. I got my number and waited at my table. A few minutes later my sourdough toast came out (garlic herb cashew cheese, sliced tomato, sea salt, and micro basil). It looked divine. This is the type of toast you need a fork and knife for. I cut it and dug in. All the flavors worked perfectly together. I wasn't sure what to expect from the garlic cashew cheese, but it was creamy, nutty, and delicious. The bacon added the right amount of salt to the dish. The nitro was robust and flavorful and went down easily. Pros: -Customer service was great -Variety of freshly baked items -Sourdough Toast was on point -Nitro was delicious Cons: -Not a ton of seating (but that helps with the charm of 1748) Tips: Get here early if you want to grab a seat or parking

Fresh fruit, food kind service really good lattes. The baked goods are delicious, but their lunches and their soups are great as well. You can take your time. Relax enjoy the food. Enjoy conversations on this lovely bakery.

I visited 1748 Bakehouse for the first time, not at their regular location, but at their table set-up at Riverside Arts Market. I got the peanut butter and caramel brownie. I thought it was a great value at $3. I got a piece the size of my palm and about an inch thick. It was moist and delicious. I ate it way too fast. I should've slowed down and savored it, but it was so good, I couldn't stop shoveling it in my face. That's OK though...I can catch them again next time I'm at Riverside Arts Market.

If I could eat anything every day of my life it would be a homemade breakfast sandwich out of 1748's fresh, fluffy English Muffins and a Cardamom roll with a glass of milk on the side. Then I'd just eat an entire herb focaccia and I would be deliriously happy. I can't rave enough about the offerings that 1748 has in their bakery window every single day that their doors are open. You walk in like a little kid with wide eyes at every delicious looking pastry that you know that the bakers have poured their heart into. It's absolutely dangerous that they're literally a five minute walk from my house nowadays and I literally think to myself if I could make up an excuse to visit every single day. They also have a little bodega with freshly made offerings like salad dressing and frozen cardamom rolls that are perfect for a lazy Saturday morning at home. Also love that they are at the Riverside Arts Market almost every Saturday and update their social media to let you know if they won't be there!

1748 Bakehouse is amazing. I love how many vegan options they have. Their muffins are a must-have, they are absolutely delicious and I could not believe they were vegan the first time I had them. For breakfast, their chia pudding, sourdough toast, and muffins are my favorites. The chia pudding is filled to the brim with fresh fruit, nuts, and fun toppings. Sourdough toast is great, although sometimes the portion size is lacking for the price. Lunch is always great with the veg pesto sandwich or a salad. I discovered 1748 at Riverside Arts Market and have been obsessed with their cashew cheeses and brownies since. The cashew cheese imitates a Fromage and I love having it with their fresh sourdough loaves. I don't think I've ever had something from 1748 Bakehouse I didn't love, so try something new and head over!

Always a good day when it includes a stop here. Lovely atmosphere, delish food and coffee. Have only tried baked goods (A+) and coffee. Larger menu is available. Also features a small selection of gift items so shopping is an option, too.

This will be my new coffee spot.I love trying new things & they have custom syrups I've never heard of.I tried this vanilla & lavender iced latte paired with a broccoli, jalapeno & cheese popover.It was so buttery and flakey .They have fresh produce & wine too
