My wife is from Paraguay, and, the food at 1811 tastes like it came from my Abuelas kitchen in Asunción!
Three styles of CHIPA, all are amazing as well as the Lobito Arabe'. I had chicken Milanese sandwich and the bread was very fresh for being 10:00pm and the cutlet was sweet dark meat of high quality. Moist with delectable crunch of the Milanese.
I am playfully forbidden to try the Uruguayan dishes at this juncture (wife is a Paraguaya) but it is of no consequence, because their Paraguayan menu is extensive.
Again, the Sopa Paraguaya, my favorite, was moist and warmly fresh. The CHIPA Guazu, very authentic, along with the CHIPA So'o and Almidon quite tantalizing.. The food lot has another truck selling novelty baked goods, which is a Miami plus, especially if you are coming home late from socializing at 1811.
I parked around the corner no problem and there was a healthy yet unobtrusive Police presence in the area tonight, felt very safe.
The owners are gregarious and multi-lingual. Eclectic group of patrons chatting from table to table politely. Friendliest place i have ever been in Miami (moved here in 1997)
For any Paraguayans, it was like being at a mini LOMILITOS back in Asunción, but perhaps cleaner, and a little more sober.
One note, their liquor license is pending, which is "OK" because it is legal to BYOB, or, if you forget your Booze, you can go 1/2 block to gas station convenience store for beer wine etc.
If you crave a friendly polite crowd and want to try some fascinatingly good and different cuisine from South America, this is your place! Definitely a bucket list! Be great on a motorcycle or bicycle scooter, you can pull right onto their lot.
