Yelp
I tried Dozzy's Grill at a festival and wow, their food is delicious. The chicken was very well seasoned and tender with a crisp char on the outside. The plantains were nice and crisp with a solid base of rice. I'd love to try other things off the menu here!

Yelp
I created a yelp account just to write this review because this place is amazing!! IF YOU ARE STAYING AT THE HYATT THIS IS A MUST. I'm so sad I only discovered it on my last night here. I loved the salmon with beet salad (which usually isn't the type of thing I'd usually order but this was perfect) The owner was so sweet and also gave me a chicken rice bowl to try which was just as delicious. This is a new restaurant so please support them! You won't regret it!

Yelp
Delicious food. Love the goat jollof. Wish they had consistent hours at the food hall.

Yelp
My company has catered from Dozzy's twice and both times it has been a huge success! Everyone has really enjoyed the food and gone back for more both times. The food is flavorful and always so good, which isn't always the case for large catered lunches. We haven't tried a dish we didn't enjoy at my office. The Peri Peri Chicken is always a hit, as are many of the side dishes, you really can't go wrong. The staff is also really great to work with and really cares about their customers, which is shown in their food and service. Highly recommend if you're looking for a delicious catered lunch!

Yelp
I'm staying at the Hyatt for 1 month and SO happy I found this place. Homemade, delicious, healthy and the chefs are so sweet. They really embody the West African hospitality!!! I will definitely eat here all month.

Yelp
Fantastic food! We ordered for a luncheon two years in a row and we were impressed! I will definitely eat here again. Yum!

Yelp
The food is incredible! So much flavor without being overwhelming and is cooked to perfection. Also great for catering! Love this place.

Yelp
Love this place! The chicken was so moist, rice was perfect, peri peri sauce was so flavorful... and the plantains!? So freaking good. Want to visit in person ASAP.

Yelp
My workplace has catered in from Dozzy's twice now and I can't say enough great things! The grilled chicken and rice is delicious but the plantains have to be my favorite from the menu. Sometimes catered meals can taste bland and soggy by the time it's delivered, but not Dozzy's! Everything was so flavorful and I caught a lot of my coworkers going back for second and even third servings. I've also heard nothing but wonderful things about the service from my colleague who placed the order. If you're looking to cater in food for a large group, you can't go wrong with Dozzy's!!

Yelp
We had their catering delivered to our company today for 40+ people, and I can't say enough great things. We were all so impressed. The chicken was my favorite, but the rice and other sides were equally awesome. The fried plantains were some of the best I've ever had. Check them out.

Yelp
Checking my inbox periodically to see what's good from my Yelpers, and I see a Dozzy hit me up, like yo check me out! Real talk Dozzy, your name alone; you had my full attention! CONTEXT: Friday night, DoorDash Pass this time; if you haven't, look into it, it could be worth your while if you order frequently. WHAT I GRABBED: (x2) Shrimp Suya Dinner w/ Jollof & fried plantains Red Red Brunch Bowl Chocolate Cake Shrimp Suya Dinner - Six shrimp but they tasty af for the sawbuck (IYKYK). These were popular, and I get why. It held its own, not a bad combo with the Jollof (subtle spicy Nigerian style Jollof), and plantains were good. I only specify the style of Jollof because my girl is Ghanaian; again, IYKYK. Red Red Brunch Bowl - I only tasted this one (good!), but it received two thumbs up from my girl. Chocolate Cake - Y'all knew I had to try it, not go lie, Dozzy, I was scared. I'm a Portillos fan, but on my KIDSSSS, this cake can hold its own! (FYI, I don't have kids) Dozzys Grill has something special here, and I'm excited to see how they do! I was disappointed the Goat sliders were sold out, but man, I get it; they Goat Sliders! Looking forward to trying them. Dope experience, Dozzy; thanks for being confident and reaching out. That doesn't always go well, lol. Yelpers, think this place is worth a try, and please support our restaurants, especially Black Owned! COMMENDS: Unique spin on Nigerian favorites, options, combos RECOMMENDS: Egushi dish coming soon!? OVERALL:/VALUE: 4.5/5 for now, FIVE for the culture, specifically the Shrimp Suya Dinner for $10, if you don't like this dish, this place might not be for you. It's six shrimp, but with the Jollof and plantains, it can be filling. WHAT I'M VOUCHING FOR: Shrimp Suya Dinner Chocolate Cake Until next time Yelpers, LOVE, LIVE, and EAT!

Yelp
I was visiting my friend who works at the hospital about a block away. We talked about where to eat lunch and dozzys came up as this great new place like a block away. When we got there we were told that they are still not doing indoor seating so we were bummed out and started to leave. This very nice black gentleman stoped us and said that he would make us the best meal we have ever had. How could we refuse. There were many orders going out the door while we waited for our food. They seem very busy for a Thursday afternoon. We were handed 2 huge bags of food and told that we won't be disappointed. When I was paying I thought that the price was a bit high. But when we got back to the hospital break room we found an amazing feast of cooked veggies and amazingly flavored meats. It was an explosion of flavor with every bite. The mains and sides were paired perfectly. So as we mixed things together it was like a whole new experience.

Yelp
Yesterday, I tried the Jorrito and Banana Fritters. Must say Dozzy's grill comes highly recommended, great food, exquisite customer care, fast delivery, Dozzy's writes personal messages to his clients (I definitely needed to feel good and that's a level unlocked), I mean I'd say more but you'd rather check them out yourself . Now trying the Red Red Bean Bowl.

Theadora R.

Yelp
The food is amazing. You can tell it's made with love and not just chain "recipe" food. This is quality and delicious and comforting.

Yelp
Dozzy's is delicious! Layers of flavor in every bite. I was a part of a large group at an office luncheon and I saw nearly everyone go back for a second plate, including me! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Ordered a few different meals from here and thought I should write a review. Food so far has been consistently good. The Jorrito and shrimp skewers are my favorite. I live in bronzeville, so I picked up my order. Honestly, it's nice that I do not have to drive to the north side to get a taste of African flavors.

Yelp
Veggie kabob could be grilled a lot longer. Steak kabob has good flavor but a bit (very) dry. Rice is really tasty but I wish the spicy level could be customized. It's a bit too spicy. Plantain was good though quite oily. Chocolate cake was ordinary. Portions are slightly below normal. Advantage is the spot is open late.

Yelp
I still have the euphoria of eating the amazing meal days after i had it delivered. Definitely adding this to my weekly rotation. The Suya is an absolute must have!

Yelp
Got a chance to try Dozzy's at the Ghanaian festival and it was an amazing experience. The staff were so lovely and generous, providing context for what we were eating, and the food was incredible! I think they're moving to Avondale so if you're there, stop by - you won't regret it.

Yelp
I had the jollof rice with goat they seeved at Currency Exchange. I thought $15 was a bit steep for this but the taste changed my mind. The goat was tender and delicious and the flavors were really fantastic. I also tried the beet salad and cupcake which were both great... the cupcake especially had an intense not-too-sweet chocolatey flavor that's unusual in a cupcake.

Yelp
Ordered the ribeye suya stick and shrimp suya stick platters, each with jollof rice and plantains and the international cake. Originally had ordered the cole slaw, but I was told that the slaw was unavailable and so they threw in a steak jorrito - like a burrito with jollof rice. Everything was DELICIOUS - perfectly spicy, very flavorful, and great portions! The ribeye and the jorrito steak were marinated in peri-peri and it was fantastic. And customer service was great - very responsive and very flexible. We will be back!

Yelp
I placed an online order for pick up about 8-10 minutes out. When I arrived, I only waited 5 minutes before my order was brought out to me. I had the steak kabob with 2 sides, plantains and cold slaw. The steak was amazing and the plantains were seasoned to perfection. Also, the cold slaw was just the way I like it, fresh and tasty. It's a no brainer! You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Dozzy's Grill a West African cuisine restaurant. I must say I am impressed with my entire experience. If I could I would give the management & his team more than 5 stars. I have tried plenty on the menu Joloff rice, red red bean dish, rib eye steak, chicken, salmon, plantains and there salad. I am more than pleased with each selection. Please check them out the modern day west African cuisine!! You won't go wrong!

Yelp
First time ordering from this African restaurant and I must say I will be ordering again. I was impressed by the packaging and the food was yummy. The jollof rice tastes home made, mild spice but tasty. Chicken, shrimp and beef suya were really good too. Overall, great job!!! Looking forward to my next meal from you guys.

Yelp
I ordered the sampler which included premium steak kabob, chicken kabob and jumbo shrimp. The meal came with sides of Jollof rice and coleslaw...my selection of course. It also included desert...a chocolate cake that was yummy. I added a couple of grilled veggies to my meal as was recommended. My notes: This is different and am I glad I chose to try it out. Everything was really good. My favorite was the shrimp. Oh my, the flavor was on point and I felt like I can continue to eat it if it were spread across the table endlessly. Then comes the suya, who doesn't like suya? And when you make it with premium steak meat and flavor it in a way that captures the very senses it was meant to capture then give me suya with every meal. I loved it. The grilled chicken had an imitation of the suya and tasted almost as good but I didn't enjoy it as much as I did the suya or the shrimp. Perhaps because the texture was too soft for my liking. Not everyone likes their chicken really soft. I am not much of a grilled veggies guy but the veggies tasted good and was well flavored. The coleslaw reminded of my favorite cook in Nigeria, her coleslaw was to die for and you always end up wanting more. And finally the chocolate cake mmmm yummy. I really do like that this is a complete meal leaving you feeling like you just had an awesome restaurant experience without leaving your dining table. I had to order again the next day to try out their beans and plantain...of course some more shrimp, suya and chicken. Overall experience was excellent and the meals were 5 star worthy.
