Beautiful location just off the highway in Cumberland. Great beer selection, friendly attentive staff, relaxed atmosphere, and sweet brewery dog Delilah. Outside food is welcome. Sit and enjoy a beautiful evening in the rolling hills of Cumberland sipping one of the many delicious beers.

Google
Fabulous and Unique is my best description. This Brewery and venue will capture your heart. It just keeps getting better. The beers and wines are incredible. There will be live music on the stage and one of the incredible local food trucks providing their best mouthwatering goodies. I have witnessed class reunions and various parties and celebrations having the times of their lives all on the family farm turned venue. Visit once and you will be hooked. Very family friendly.

Google
Had a great time at 1812 Brewery with my family! The atmosphere is super family-friendly, and the whole place has such a welcoming vibe. The ice cream was a hit with the kiddo and their brews were on point—especially the Baseball Stout, which was my favorite. The live music added a great touch, and the surrounding area is just beautiful. Definitely a spot to check out if you're in the area!

Google
It is a beautiful and delicious brewery off the beaten path in Cumberland with awesome history. Great place for a small event or an indoor/outdoor hangout. This brewery is Family and dog friendly with a playground and games for kids. Highly recommended to make the drive and worth the visit.

Google
What a cool brewery. We found 1812 through Harvest Host and are so glad we did. The staff, beer, and property were great. This is a place that we would definitely like to visit again.

Google
A fantastic destination brewery, uniquely set in the Maryland mountains. It definitely deserves 5 stars, however my experience fell short. I prefer porters and stouts, and the store had been erased from the menu board. We tried a flight of 4 yellow beers that were ok. Then I saw 2 customers with points of the stout. Turns out they had it, but it was slow to pour. Guess what? I don't care. I did ultimately get the stout, and it was a very good beer. Please be more honest with your customers.

Yelp
Ohhh, 1812 Brewery you stole my hoppy soul. What a great find and a great brewery. I am glad to see Western Maryland in the brewery scene and with such a wonderful brewery. I had no idea this brewery was here until a recent trip to Rocky Gap Resort. No matter where I travel I always find every brewery through Yelp and try to hit up as many as possible. Thank you my fellow Yelpers :) This place is really off the beaten path and those are my favorite kind of breweries. It's located on an old farm and its whole vibe screams, "Come on in and enjoy yourself!" I love the space the people who own this have created. The outside area is open, airy, and peaceful. The lower building with the restrooms is a great space too. I love how they serve the beers out of the lower part of the upper building. Super cool setup. We ordered: Girlfriend: Lemon Blueberry Sour Ale (5/5) Me: Blood Orange Horizon (5/5) We also ordered some food from Jackies Groovy Cheese truck while enjoying our beers. I'm going to have to make you a Yelp page because I wanted to give you praise and you weren't on here yet. - Fried Pickle Slices (6/5) - Jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese (6/5) They were both super tasty. By far the best fried pickle slices we have ever had and those jalapeño poppers were super crunchy, cooked to perfection, and loaded with cheese. Yum! Fried foods paired with beer is my weakness. We didn't get a chance to explore the inside of the upper building but that gives us something to look forward to the next time we are in the area but to also check out everything else great they have to offer including their other delicious beers and whatever food truck is there on our next visit. We will be back again soon but until then, Happy Drinking! Sláinte:)

Yelp
Perfect Saturday PM with kids in tow- playground + kind/engaging staff + delicious libations (peach sour, Cumberland pale ale. What's not to like?

Yelp
This is the place that a brewery should be. Great venue with plenty of seating inside and outside. Beer was very good. The road to get there was a little narrow but made the trip memorable. Definitely recommend this place

Yelp
Great brewery! We found this through Harvest Hosts and loved the location from a camping standpoint and for the beers. We tried both the Sours, Peach and the Lemon Blueberry, both were fantastic and I left with 4-packs of both. I also tried the Whistler's Wheat Hefeweizen, which was also excellent. The had a good vendor there, Mise En Place, which had a great Tri Tip Cheese Steak sandwich and some good gravy fries. There was a great local band playing that played a ton of different genres of music.

Yelp
Supreme discovery! I'm so glad we stopped to check them out. At first we thought we'd taken a wrong turn when the road turned very narrow, but then we rounded a corner and there was the beautiful barn and silos. The gravel lot above it was perfect to maneuver our big rig RV into. We enjoyed our brews out on the patio. The whole place was sparkling clean, and the tap master provided wonderful service. If only our annual migration was later in the year, because we sure would have enjoyed a sample of their stout. Alas, the mash masters think it's only a winter brew, so we'll probably never get the chance. So sad.

Yelp
A friend of mine recommended this place. I am so glad to follow his recommendation. It was very nice weather outside. My daughters ran around their playground and were so excited to see goats. Of course they got excellent beer collection. I enjoyed the sour beer. My husband enjoyed stout. This is located at middle of nowhere but this is for everyone to enjoy. It was too bad that a food truck didn't show up.

Yelp
Good small town vibe brewery in a nicely restored mill. The beers were decent and the ambiance was welcoming. Food is done separately by a different vendor. But food is pretty good also. They had a singer Jewelein Stevenson perform on Saturday Feb 5. She was pretty good too! Had a great experience here.

Yelp
Beer, staff and location all great. We really enjoy this place. Very chill sitting at the bar talking with people.

Yelp
A very nice family friendly brewery. The brewery/bar area is not well marked but from the grassy parking area, walk straight ahead to the brewery building. The building on the left (to the left of the silo) is a private party area (that we walked into by accident!) A few more signs, especially on the doors, would be helpful! We liked the variety of beers, we tried The Blood Orange, the Farm Lager, the Wheat Heferweiesen, and the Oktoberfest! We brought a game for our family to play at one of the long tables. At first we weren't sure how family friendly it was, but later a large family with lots of kids (and dogs!) came in! We'd love to come back in warmer weather and enjoy a band and the outdoor patio!

Yelp
No food, just a brewery. The beers were not what I typically enjoy but that's just my taste. The atmosphere is super unique and definitely a must see. I really enjoyed hanging out trying a flight. The staff was also super friendly. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
A beautiful Friday evening enjoying great beers in a casual country atmosphere! Live music and tables in the courtyard by the barn and silo. Definitely off the beaten path but we'll worth the adventure!
google avatar

Yelp
Great beer, drinks and there was a BBQ VENDOR there with great food. Live music started at 6 which created a great atmosphere. We came here with our camper van part of Harvest Host and stayed the night.

Yelp
I wasn't a huge fan of their beer. Porter was okay but everything else sort of had just one taste with different level of hops. However, the staff was incredibly kind and hospitable. There is a great selection of board/card games and this cute cabin-like brewery is surrounded by a farm with sheep! Although beer wasn't to my taste, it was a really delightful time here.

Yelp
This brewery was such a pleasant surprise in the middle of nowhere. The beer was well made and the atmosphere was inviting and warm. Great spot to stop, food trucks on the weekends!

Yelp
Awesome Brewery! Amazing remodeled Barn with an amazing outdoor space! But go inside and you are in the basement of a remodeled barn that is top notch! I'm not a big craft beer fan but I liked really, really liked their Maddy Golden. No restaurant here & that's okay! They have a small selection of fresh made small handhelds (chicken tacos, pretzels & beer cheese, nachos ) & snacks! I almost think a restaurant would ruin this place! Love the atmosphere and can't wait to ride our motorcycles back down here next summer!

Yelp
Fun little place kind of out of the way but worth the trip people here are very nice and the beers were very good

Yelp
I can't wait to see this place grow. Maybe food and wedding receptions in the future! Try the Rocky Gap Rye & this place is gorgeous!

Yelp
If you can find it you have found a GREAT watering hole!! Friendly staff and great beer. Lots of history to learn about area and barn. GO!!!

Yelp
There is so much to love about the 1812 Brewery. The Beer: When I went they had six beers on draft: a lager, a pale ale, an IPA, a Rye IPA, a Double IPA, and a Saison. You can do samplers of 4 or all 6, or grab a pint. Growlers are available too. I tried three of their beers and they were all spot-on for the style. (The brewer here used to be the head brewer over at Uncle Tucker's - now Puccini's - when they brewed their own beer back in the day. This isn't his first rodeo.) They have seasonals, so the tap list might be different when you go. The Layout: The taproom is stunning - a mixture of original stone work and recently added wooden bars for drinking. They also have an outdoor patio with a huge fire pit in the middle. You can bring your own food and enjoy the view of the surrounding landscape (which includes the hops that they grow on site). Above the taproom there is another floor, which I didn't get to see. The Location: Just beautiful. Located on a farm just a short drive from I-68, but you feel like you are away from it all. They have plans for live music - it is the perfect place for it. I wouldn't be surprised if this place blows up. There isn't anything like it in Cumberland, and the city is all the better because of it.

Yelp
We stayed overnight here last night, they are Harvest Host members. The brewery has a youth soccer field attached to it, so there is plenty of parking for RV's (note you must be a Harvest Host Member to stay overnight). We were absolutely delighted to find a food truck, live music, and a bonfire going when we pulled in. Delightful place! The route in is along a beautiful river. We enjoyed the fall colors and delicious beer, thank you Corey!

Yelp
Wow-totally impressed. Came in from Bedford to see this new place and it is top notch. The place is stunning inside and wonderful patio outside. I typically like a dark beer and they do not have one so I got a sampler- all their beers are well made! Update: have been here a few times and tasted about ten different beers. I've never had a bad beer here- they are all excellent!

Yelp
Wow! What a spot! We visited on the 3rd Saturday they were open, seeking refuge from the rain while we camped in a nearby state forest. The tap room is cozy and has beautiful craftsmanship; and the beer is delicious and the bartenders friendly! We took our beer outside and sat at tables situated under a tin roof - a great spot to watch the storms roll by. 1812 Brewery has a huge back patio with plenty of tables and space for families to enjoy. I can only imagine how lovely it is in nice weather! The people behind this place have clearly thought of everything - plastic cups for beer flights outdoors, yard games, plenty of parking, and an event space for weddings, parties, etc. We were so fortunate to stumble upon this place. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
First time in Baltimore, a California boy. Had the hazy and session ipas and can tell you they compete with any I have ever had! Definitely recommend, a little out of the way but for sure worth it!!!

Cathy J.

Yelp
There is absolutely nothing bad I can say about this place! This is a farm/brewery with outside picnic tables and a playground for the kids to enjoy while the adults sit and sip their beer as live music wafts across the field. It's the most relaxing, casual vibe I've felt in a long time and while they don't serve food, the food vendors come and sell their pre-cooked food, and that's pretty good. So food choices are limited. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Beautiful location, friendly and helpful staff. The beers are great and if you have someone that isn't a beer person, they also have local wines

Maddy G.

Yelp
Let me start off with the fact that I am not a craft/IPA beer drinker. But, this place is still pretty neat. Alcohol wise, they have their own beers and some wines. I felt the "glass" of wine was very expensive for a very small amount of wine so honestly that is the only reason for the 4 stars. They do not have liquor or spirits as an alternative either. However, many of my friends did enjoy their beer. There was a coffee beer that everyone loved and one that seemed to be similar to a blue moon. The setting of this place is amazing. They have their main "deck" area where the bathrooms, stage, booze and food trucks are. They do have a little spot up behind the main building that is more private where you can still hear the music music, which is nice. There is part of the deck that is covered more like a pavilion and the outside part in front of it has pergola's with lights draped over them creating a really nice view and general feel of the place. They also do try and get some really good food trucks with different types of food which is really cool because you can plan a night around that if you would like. They also get different types of bands to come and play live music. All-in-all, this is a very cool place that I would come back to just for the environment but I do wish they had a little more variety in their alcohols. Definitely recommend!!

Yelp
Great establishment, the most relaxing place to spend an evening with friends, nestled along Evitts Creek at the base of Evitts Mountain, the live entertainment is always good and the on site caterers are amazing. The outside patio area is nice and once finished it will be the best around. The interior is awe inspiring with the original wooden beams and the fire places. You must read the history trail as you enjoy your brew.

Yelp
Great beer and awesome staff. Go check them out, I was passing through the area and found em.

Yelp
This location is one of the most beautiful brewery, inside and out, that I've visited. This is off of the beaten path, but easy to find. The prices were great. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. There was a food truck, I did not eat there, but everyone around me loved their food (I asked). I enjoyed the blonde brews they offered. Great place, I'll definitely be going back - and I live an hour away!

Yelp
The exciting business to open in the Cumberland in two decades. The history on the property goes back to the 1790s and valley was a a busy Native American path for centuries before that. The house and barn were built in 1812 and redevelopment of this property into a brew farm, tap room and event center is spot on. Six great beers now and seasonal brews ahead. A must stop for lovers of hops.

Yelp
Remarkable hospitality and fantastic beer in a phenomenal venue! Keep up the great work!

Yelp
Came for the grand opening- so happy we did! Absolutely stunning property with plenty of room to hang out with friends. Tried several of the brews. All were excellent! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Pretty good beer. Nice outdoor eating area and tasting room. I'll be interested in seeing how they develop.

Jeremy J.

Yelp
1812 offers a great selection of great-tasting and varied beers! They also invite great food trucks to provide food so you can get something different everytime you go! Also, they work well as a great venue for weddings or for their really cool yoga and beer classes!

Andrew B.

Yelp
Just sampled a flight of the home brews. Great atmosphere and great beer! Corey the owner took his time and treated us to the personal touch.

Mark E.

Yelp
Great people, great venue and great beer and food! This is a place where service and quality are job #1! And the customer is the MVP!
