There is so much to love about the 1812 Brewery.
The Beer: When I went they had six beers on draft: a lager, a pale ale, an IPA, a Rye IPA, a Double IPA, and a Saison. You can do samplers of 4 or all 6, or grab a pint. Growlers are available too. I tried three of their beers and they were all spot-on for the style. (The brewer here used to be the head brewer over at Uncle Tucker's - now Puccini's - when they brewed their own beer back in the day. This isn't his first rodeo.) They have seasonals, so the tap list might be different when you go.
The Layout: The taproom is stunning - a mixture of original stone work and recently added wooden bars for drinking. They also have an outdoor patio with a huge fire pit in the middle. You can bring your own food and enjoy the view of the surrounding landscape (which includes the hops that they grow on site). Above the taproom there is another floor, which I didn't get to see.
The Location: Just beautiful. Located on a farm just a short drive from I-68, but you feel like you are away from it all. They have plans for live music - it is the perfect place for it.
I wouldn't be surprised if this place blows up. There isn't anything like it in Cumberland, and the city is all the better because of it.
