I’ve dined at this establishment on two seperate occasions, each time was spectacular. Andy was my waiter both times and he is amazing! Very attentive and accommodating. For Drinks– we tried the House Pinot very crisp & grapefruit forward, the Pink Fashion a yummy strawberry lemonade cocktail and my personal favorite, the Melonita. It literally taste like you should be sitting poolside in Tulum, MX. 10/10. For starters– Andy offered us a complimentary sample of the very delicious Salmon Spread and Old Bay chips. We also ordered the crab cakes and fried calamari. I’d give the appetizers a 7/10 overall. For dinner– we tried a bunch of goodies and I’d highly recommend ALL! We got the crab legs, the Blackened Fish Tacos, the Filet Mignon and the Mediterranean Salmon. We were celebrating a birthday so we also received an order of complimentary Beignets with chocolate sauce. Only place better would be Cafe Du Mond down in NOLA. We cannot wait to go back and if you’re considering this place, I’d say go for it! You will not be disappointed!

My wife and I recently visited here and we were thrilled with the meal. I arrived a few minutes before our reservation so I stopped by the bar for a drink. The selected cocktails on the drink menu were refreshing, diverse, and I was pleased with the presentation and care taken in preparation. Upon being seated, we were greeted with a really tasty complementary appetizer of a salmon spread over toast. Our waitress was attentive and helpful in navigating the daily specials and the menu. We started with oysters on the half shell, and my wife got the special of the day, which I believe was a grilled grouper with mushrooms, while I chose the black cod. Both cuts of fish were perfectly cooked, flaky and delicate. We finished the meal with a hefty slice of lemon meringue pie which was not overpowering like some key lime and lemon meringue pies can be. The meal was pricier than some other restaurants for the portion sizes you receive, but it was absolutely a gourmet meal worth the money spent. We will definitely be coming back.

They start you off with free chips with smoked salmon. It’s a unique feature, and quite tasty. The colossal shrimp are ordered individually. I ordered two and loved them. I especially enjoyed the cocktail sauce which has a strong horseradish kick. I ordered the caprese salad with a piece of salmon on top. It was fantastic. Andrew was one of the best waiters I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended!

Quiet, classy atmosphere. Tortilla chips and a seafood spread are brought out to the table. They had a new cocktail, "getting figgy with it," and it was DELICIOUS . My boyfriend enjoyed the smoked old fashioned he ordered. For an appetizer we got the Chashu Braised Pork Belly, which is brought out on steam buns which I have never had before. They have a very airy texture, which was a nice surprise. For the main course I ordered the Pan Seared Dayboat Scallops which were excellent. My boyfriend got some type of surf and turf with lobster, steak and frites. Since it was our anniversary they brought in some amazing beignets with home made whipped cream and chocolate sauce. They were so warm and fresh. The staff was very friendly.

We will definitely come here again! The mussels were almost as good as the ones I had in Mont Saint Michel. The garlic frites, homemade chips, fried walleye, and swordfish sandwich were excellent too. I would not order the blue crab au gratin or she crab soup again. The crab au gratin was way too sweet, but the crusty bread that came with it was awesome. The crab in both dishes was very dry and stringy. I really liked the coastal look of the place and the live music on Monday night. Service was great. All in all, it was an enjoyable evening and a great new restaurant.

I dined at 1818 Offshore in Edwardsville, hoping for a pleasant evening, but received an appalling experience instead. I ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos with fries. The fries were unbearably salty, and before I could eat more than a bite of my taco, a fly landed in my food. When I alerted the waitress, she insisted I still had to pay. The manager’s response? "You are sitting outside. What do you expect?" No apology, no offer to replace the meal—just a demand for payment for inedible food. This establishment has shown a shocking disregard for basic customer service. I won't be spending another dime here.

Choose this place for dinner for a Saturday night. I noticed that reservations were key here. I went online and grabbed a table for two. There were several times spots open for seating so it made me feel confident that this last minute reservation would work. When we arrived the restaurant was not very full. There were some guys that went in before us and the hostess informed them that they were not taking "walk-ins" only reservations (despite plenty of seating being open). They looked around and looked back at the hostess and walked out looking annoyed. As we stepped up to the hostess she advised the same thing but we gave her our name. She informed us that a "table was being prepared" and for us to "wait because our reservation was not for another 15 minutes ". We found this ridiculous because there was seating everywhere. But still we went to the bar, where we waited for 10 minutes before the bartender even acknowledged us. When I did finally get his attention and ask for a drink, his first response was "give me a second". He then proceeded to grab the couples drink orders that had just walked up to the bar that were standing to the left of me. While sitting at the bar, the bartender only provided 1 drink. Never asked within that 15 minutes if we wanted another. At the end of our long awaited time for a table we get seated. We order right away and get some old bay seasoned pita chips and tuna to dip it into. Not a bad tasting combo, but definitely an interesting one. I ordered the scallops with spinach and couscous, my table friend orders the aged ribeye. About 40-45 minutes later our food comes out. Really not sure what took so long seeing how my friend got his steak medium rare and mine was seafood but whatever. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly and is highly recommended. The scallops were overly seasoned and very salty. They tasted cooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside. I stopped eating them after the 2nd one. The spinach and couscous underneath the scallops were great (lightly seasoned and buttered). However, I truly wish I ordered the fish instead... We sat there at the restaurant for about 3hours in total and during that time my drink went empty about 3 times. Each time.me having to flag the waitress down to get a refill. Completely unacceptable. The restaurant was busy with chatter from surrounding tables but was still not completely full. They ambiance of the place was like a mix of The Drunken Fish and a small coastal restaurant that you would find in Orlando. Not sure we would go back again, but it was worth a try. You might have a different experience 🤔 Oh I almost forgot. For all those allergy people out there, their fried foods are cooked in soy oil. Happy eating!

Yelp
Sooooo wanted to give a better review. Having a going away dinner and person in group really only eats fish. Picked this place cause we love 1818 chophouse. So arrive and heat is out, ok have plug in heaters that work. Ok no worries, 3 people come to explain, however another 20 minutes until drink order taken. One person orders smoked old fashioned, comes out as regular. Ok still ok... waiter disagrees with person about order. Ummm alright order later comes out wrong. The one person who loves sea food, well they are out of the fish he ordered.... (Notified a while after order)... long wait, water gone wishing for another drink (water or anything)... food comes out. Cajun special, meh... steak over cooked other one cold... Needless to say 4 people.. over $300.. disappointed. Towards end everyone coming to ask how it was... little too late. Really wanted to have great dinner, I talked up 1818 chophouse and picked this place. Looking back, could have gone to red lobster for better meal. Sorry really wanted to give 5, but so disappointed that I chose this place for a special occasion and it went so poorly.

Yelp
First I forgot to take a pic of the food so you'll have to settle for a pic of my drink that I have had a few sips on. The sea bass was delicious, so many gluten free options for my wife, and the drinks were awesome. My wife had a blueberry muddled Moscow Mule, and I had a Morning Glory. Great service, great food, great drinks.

Yelp
We went for our second visit here to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday and had a wonderful experience! Our server Amy was on point and had perfect timing. They have an extensive alcohol menu with cocktails, adult slushees, wine, whiskey, and more! I tried a Junglebird, which had a strong grapefruit flavor to me, and my spouse had a couple of their margaritas. We ordered the chorizo mussels, which were so delicious I ate the whole mess of them and I think my poor husband only got two or three! Definitely order them if you are a chorizo and mussels fan, they come with several slices of grilled bread. We ordered the special, which was scallops with zucchini, squash, and mushrooms, which was good also. Amy brought us complimentary beignets for my husband's birthday, which he pronounced "beyond cake" which if you knew him, is the highest praise. The restaurant is much more brightly-lit than we expected, but it gives the restaurant a nice, airy feel, and I enjoy being able to see into the kitchen. Especially given the difficulty of finding quality seafood in the area, we will most definitely be back!

Yelp
I'm genuinely just thankful for this spot. It's clean and food is always interesting. The staff has always been super kind and knowledgeable. This is the kind of place/experience I happily spend my hard earned money at.

Yelp
I will give this a 3 1/2 - 4 stars. The food was fresh, and the service was wonderful. We had the pleasure of being seated by a very young man who is probably close to 10 years old. You can tell this is a family business and honestly if you're going to have a family business, you start them young. Don't let a young one deter you from stopping into this restaurant. It was very classy and enjoyable. He had many compliments from several other tables as well. If I dine here again, and everything is the same they will get four stars or more! - Soft lighting - Dressy- dressy casual - Very clean - Decent parking - Lovely patrons - Fresh food - Pleasant service and friendly staff - Reasonable wait - Servers deserve their tips

Yelp
First visit and maybe I did t order the right thing. I had the Mother's Day special Lobster BLT, bisque, and salad. It was collectively a very small meal for $26. The sandwich had one tiny chunk of lobster and no bacon--it was slider size. . The soup was Luke warm. I know they were busy but.....the other thing is that portions are smallish. I have adult boys who were more hungry than they should have been and walked away not fulfilled. It's a cute place and the service was good.

Yelp
Best service!!!!! Andy was his name. The food! Appetizers, tuna, mussels-Fabulous! Even the salad! Caesar salad - just different with wonderful flavor! The entree was a special. Fish with purple potatoes and leeks and trumpet mushrooms in a wonderful sauce! Beignets were served complimentary for a birthday and were more delicious than Cafe du Monde! Thank you 1818 Offshore for your bold flavors! I almost forgot to mention the drinks we had before dinner. Our party of three each had a different cocktail. We all were very pleased with our concoctions. We had a great time at your establishment! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Located at the prior 1818 Chophouse, it's sister restaurant nicely took over with nautical themed decor and high quality sea food to match! My husband has a shellfish allergy and they helped him navigate options for him. The service was amazing and was also very familiar with the wine pairings!

Yelp
We had the lobster bisque, halibut, biscuits, greens, and shrimp and grits. The lobster bisque was mediocre. It didn't seem like they use sherry in it. It was overpriced at close to $20 for a small bowl of soup and it seemed like they relied on presentation (putting cooked lobster in bowl and pouring soup over it). The amount of lobster was miserly (just a few small bites), but if the soup was good it would have been forgivable. The biscuits were fried which meant they were greasy. On the positive side, the halibut was wonderful in both quality and preparation. The greens were the best I've had in a long time. They were perfectly piquant. The grits were also exceptional, although the shrimp was over cooked and rubbery. I think the restaurant has potential, but i think there is some work to be done.

Yelp
First time dinning at this new seafood restaurant. I made 8pm reservations February 13th for their super cute "Galentine's Day dinner party. Specials included a lobster trio, Chilean Sea Bass, and a frozen Palmetto. Service was prompt and friendly. When my butter-poached lobster ended up being a bit over-cooked and chewy, our waitress offered to bring me a new one. Comfortable atmosphere. Excellent menu options. The lobster ravioli was made with home made pasta. The food had great flavor. Would love to see some caviar on the menu. Wink, wink. We'll be back.

Yelp
The service and food was beyond excellent. I brought two first timers with me - my Mom and my aunt for her 86th birthday. They both said the best calamari they have ever had. Both have travelled a lot and ate at many restaurants. The beignets were beyond amazing! I had the lobster ravioli. Highly recommend. Both can't wait to come back (they live 2 hours away)
google avatar

Fred L.

Yelp
Our evening started good with adult beverages. $9 & $10. We ordered calamari to start $15. It was okay, needed more lemon. We then ordered the lobster bisque to share. Nice presentation. Had several pieces of lobster in the bottom with a good bisque. She had the grouper with couscous $36. It was okay, some of the bottom was burnt. I had the fried walleye that came with a radish salad $27. Garlic fries $7. The walleye was 3 small pieces that were overcooked and tough. The garlic fries were amazing The pictures on Trip Advisor and Yelp don't match up with what was brought to the table. For what was presented our dinner was way overpriced

Yelp
A Wonderful Experience We came to 1818 Offshore for our anniversary and couldn't have had a better experience. The restaurant is not a free standing building but part of a strip center. That might not sound appealing but I assure you the atmosphere is nice. They have a cloistered outdoor patio that is comfortable and cozy. After our meal inside, we stepped out to the patio for a drink. It was very nice. Our waitress was attentive but unobtrusive. The decor was contemporary and comfortable. For cocktails we had the Spring in the Air and the Golden Nectar. They were unique and delicious, albeit pricey. As an appetizer we ordered the crab cakes. Outstanding! They were moist (which isn't often the case at many restaurants) and we could actually taste crab. My wife ordered the scallops and I had the whole lobster. The scallops were grilled and spiced to perfection. The lobster -- while whole -- came split in half which made extracting the meat much easier. We topped it off with delicious key lime pie and complimentary beignets with chocolate sauce, an anniversary gift from management. They also have an excellent wine list and a bourbon/scotch list which is pretty impressive. Our whole evening was expensive ($200+ before gratuity) but was nevertheless one of the best dining experiences we've had in recent memory. We'll be back.

Yelp
First time visitors last Saturday night, and it was an amazing visit. The host, the waiter, the bartender everything was spectacular. The crab deviled eggs and lump crab cakes for starters were amazing. I ordered nearly every side offered on the menu because they all looked amazing and tasted better. Can't say enough great things, at least, until our next visit!
google avatar

Gerri A.

Yelp
So disappointed. We Ate here a number of times and it was good, but has continually gone down hill. The typical nouveau attempt at "ambiance." Is made. The first time the food and service were good. Normally were greeted warmly. The next times the food was good, but the service was not great. The next few times the service was worse and the food deteriorated. The last time the calamari had several hairs fried into it, I ordered crab legs and they brought me a cabbage wedge. You could take the risk, but pay attention to your food.
google avatar

Lin G.

Yelp
Such an odd location!! The wait staff are quite welcoming and knowledgeable, and that helps. We were quite happy with the seasonable crab legs. The second entree, Lobster ravioli, was a big serving, with a lot of pasta and scant tiny shreds of lobster meat. The cream filling was overpowering, the entire dish was odd and needs to be reworked. A charming waiter and lovely dining room. We will return.
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
Expensive, but the food is delicious. The fresh oysters from the northern east and west coast are perfect. This is the only place I will eat oysters because of the high quality. They have a good selection of starters that I cannot resist. Just wish they would add the blue crab appetizers back on the menu. The service is excellent, friendly and helpful. The ambiance of the restaurant is above par.

Yelp
We celebrated my mom's birthday at 1818 Offshore and it was a great time. They provide you with a small portion of their smoked salmon dip once you sit down and it was probably my favorite dish of the night! I would definitely order a full sized appetizer of the same. My dad ordered the shrimp and grits which were very good. My fiancé ordered the signature angus filet mignon with mushrooms and the umami flavor was wonderful. My sister in law ordered the pineapple teriyaki flank steak, which had great flavor. My favorite large dish was my mom's pan fried walleye. It was crispy and well-seasoned and the fresh mixed salad it was served with complimented it well. My brother and I each got po' boys- I got the oyster and he got the shrimp. Unfortunately, both were over cooked, but the flavor was there so I'd give them another chance. We had an assortment of cocktails as well, including one of the slushies and they were all very good! The service was excellent and they offered to bring my mom out complimentary dessert for her birthday, but she had brought her own cake. I can't wait to go back again!
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
Went here for Mother's Day cause I love seafood ( from California so we know good seafood) and was disappointed. The sea bass I ordered was over cooked and quite salty. The service was a little on the slow side, water was never refilled and we were seated outside in the sun, at 12:30 in the afternoon. I'll save my money and order my seafood from Deirbergs seafood counter! Or wait til I visit California and go to my favorite spot in Morrow Bay...Giovanni's!

Yelp
Just tried this gem in Edwardsville to celebrate a birthday. Our server, Andy, was fantastic and helped us with all of our drink & menu choices. The food was fantastic & our drinks were very good too. Enjoyed the whole experience, recommend!

Tim J.

Yelp
Nuff said. Oh I guess this review is too short to post. Picture says a thousand words.

Tracey C.

Yelp
Great food. The server was the perfect mix of helpful and doesn't book you. Fun little atmosphere too.

Yelp
New favorite restaurant in Edwardsville! Service was great and the food and drinks were delicious. Can't wait to go back! Not pictured: complimentary small portion of the smoked salmon spread which was soooo good. Will definitely order full portion when we go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Best seafood around! Great drinks, full bar and good wine list. Bourbon and tequila selection is awesome. Anything you get from the menu is going to be beyond good can't just name a few. Love the rotation of specials! It is a must go!

Yelp
It was our first time visiting 1818 Offshore. Our waiter John was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu items. The service was spot on . A complimentary salmon spread with flatbread, insanely delicious! I ordered the sword fish sandwich with fries and the she crab soup. Both were delicious! My husband had a whole fish with head on and a lightly grilled tuna on a bed of greens. We were not disappointed!
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Amazing food and amazing atmosphere. I got the swordfish and it was great. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
We weren't expecting much. It's seafood in the Midwest. We walked in after stumbling upon it and not from the area. It may not have been better than the best seafood we've had from the gulf, but it was better than most of it! (Husband says the shrimp and grits was better than any shrimp he's had, and the greens were incredible). Friendly staff and an easy experience made the food worth the drive and we will be back! I apologize that I can not for the life of me remember my servers name. We were there right at opening today and he was super friendly and seemed to truly love people. Great experience all around!

Kathleen S.

Yelp
Ambience is amazing I would really really love it. If only there was anything there I could eat I'm a vegetarian and kind of picky so it's probably me everyone else that ate there that night. Loved it so give it a try people!

Yelp
This is the former location of 1818 Chophouse (same owner), and it has been converted in to a seafood-focused offshoot of the original Chophouse. We weren't sure what to expect, but we were very pleased! The décor theme is obviously ocean/beach vibe, but without screaming it with obvious Rae Dunn-style signs that say "water" or "sand." It's intentionally more open and bright than its predecessor, and even the glasses and chairs match up with the desired ambience. As for the food...outstanding! Wife and daughter got a swordfish sandwich with garlic fries, while I got the lobster roll with homemade Old Bay chips. Ask for the lobster to be done "Connecticut Style" - warm in butter, rather than cold. Delicious. Drinks were great too - I recommend the Tiki Old Fashioned - several different rums with bitters, etc. All told, our 3 meals and 3 drinks ran us right at $100 - not bad for a delicious seafood dinner. This is a strong addition to the Edwardsville dining scene!

Jackie C.

Yelp
Ordered the whole poached lobster....being a cook I know the difference between poached and grilled. This being said, my poached lobster was grilled, way too long and tough! It was mentioned to manager and he could have cared less. Having a food alergy there were unwilling to give us some crackers for the salmon dip they make. By the way it was very good I ate wee bit with fork no crackers. My date had the special and was quite pleased Needless to say we will not be returning to have lobster. Lent Specials are different daily!!! Our server was top l notch thank you for that

Linda A.

Yelp
Our friend wanted to eat at 1818 Offshore for his birthday (and of course take advantage of the weekday happy hour specials...since we are all retired!). It wouldn't have been my first choice since I am a vegetarian but you "gotta go with the flow". They had a beet salad with arugula as one of their speciality salads. I decided to have the salad and their side order of brussell sprouts as my meal. Bam...what a great surprise. The salad was excellent and full of flavor (except for the beet I dropped on my blouse while I was eating...goodbye to that blouse). The brussell sprouts were flash fried and presented on a bed of homemade hummus. Absolutely full of flavor. Everyone else ordered off the happy hour special menu and they were very pleased with their choices. The best surprise of all was the complimentary Beignets that our waitress Leah brought out. Oh my gosh...it was worth going to the restaurant just for the Beignets! Leah was a really good waitress. She was very attentive. Thank you for making our friends birthday very special.

Taylor D.

Yelp
The food was absolutely incredible, and our waitress Danielle was awesome! We ordered the mussels which came in a buttery broth that was delicious. My favorite part was for sure the lobster bisque and the peel and eat shrimp. The lobster ravioli was good, the citrus sauce with the more savory ravioli was a great combo. Overall an excellent restaurant with an excellent experience.
google avatar

Steve C.

Yelp
Great food and options. Beautiful new decor! A little pricey for the portion sizes but tasty.

Yelp
This is the absolute best place on the planet. Love the raw bar & martini with the raw oyster. Highly highly recommended!!!

Alex K.

Yelp
Had a great experience at 1818 Offshore! We were welcomed with some salmon and chips as we sat down. The service was amazing all the workers were very kind and considerate. The food was fabulous! The crab cakes were great with a very good amount of crab. The oysters tasted fresh and fabulous. The portions were great throughout the appetizers, sides, & entrees. Would STRONGLY RECOMMEND & needless to say I wasn't CRABBY when I left this place!

Kassie L.

Yelp
Fabulous food and drinks! Andy our server was absolutely amazing. He provided excellent recommendations and was so incredibly kind. We had the best conversation with him. Perfect place for a date night!

A L.

Yelp
Love the interior decor. I don't eat seafood but the steak over rice is excellent, also the slushies are fantastic!

Robert C.

Yelp
Had an excellent meal on date night with my wife! The restaurant is very nice and the service was fantastic. Our wait staff gave us great tips on menu items and was very knowledgeable with the entire menu. No rush on our food and we felt like we were in a very intimate location. Food and drinks were excellent! Definitely recommend. We will be back!!!

Jeremy B.

Yelp
Excellent food. A little pricey. Excellent service. I believe the owners children were running around. They were not that distracting but for that price you should not have to put up with that.

Hannah M.

Yelp
My husband and I were craving oysters, so we decided to stop in around 5:45pm with no reservation. We sat at the bar and they brought out the smoked salmon spread to try. We will definitely order that next time. We just had some drinks, seafood tower, and crab fries. Everything was delicious. Hoping they have an oyster happy hour soon. We will be back regardless!

Kim K.

Yelp
Excellent service and excellent food. The best seafood menu in the metro east area. They also take reservations.

Angie P.

Yelp
Atmosphere, meal and cocktails were on point! Exceptional service from Lucas and all the staff. This fresh seafood and raw bar are a great new addition to Edwardsville and the entire metro area! Can't wait to go back and try more!

Arthur M.

Yelp
A much needed addition to Edwardsville's culinary scene. Previously, there had been no real upscale seafood restaurant. The crab fries, cajun swordfish sandwich, and lobster ravioli were fantastic.

Al W.

Yelp
Food, service, and atmosphere were all delightful. I wouldn't hesitate to go back. Probably best to make a reservation, but even when they're busy, we weren't waiting around for anything. Fried walleye was delicious. Bonus...Surprisingly good hot wings!

Steve M.

Yelp
The food and service were excellent. The problem is the selections were very limited. I would expect at least 3 fresh choices. We only had 2. Next time I will call on their fresh choices.

Beth S.

Yelp
Awesome appetizer dips & slushies! Great to have a selection of shrimp, crab, oysters & mussels as well as delicious & well prepared fresh fish! The restaurant decor is very well done & they even have a burger for the non fish eaters - wonderful addition to the local restaurant scene!

George V.

Yelp
Way to go!!! Outstanding from the moment we stepped in. Food was amazing and I highly recommend the lobster roll. Service is on point!!!
