Chef Chris Shepherd’s Much-Anticipated Steakhouse Georgia James Debuts Tonight | Eater Houston

"Dishes that appeared at One Fifth Steak, the original iteration of Shepherd’s rotating restaurant that inspired Georgia James, include items like 18-month country ham served with Redneck cheddar and pickled mustard seeds, and those preparations are influencing the new steakhouse’s menu." - Amy McCarthy

One Fifth Mediterranean Is Now Taking Reservations for Its Opening This Weekend | Eater Houston

"His first concept, One Fifth Steak (January to July 2017), was Chris Shepherd’s take on a steakhouse: a beef-eaters' dream that nonetheless didn’t limit itself to beef, with cold seafood serving as a focal point of the menu." - Alaena Hostetter

Chris Shepherd’s New Steakhouse Will Arrive In July | Eater Houston

"The steak-focused outgrowth of the chef’s 'five restaurants in five years' project that served as an early template for the new Montrose steakhouse; it popularized searing beef in cast-iron skillets and balancing heavy, meaty preparations with cold seafood accompaniments." - Amy McCarthy

1845 Taste Texas is one of those rare places that feels refined without being pretentious. The atmosphere is elegant, dim lighting, modern design, and just enough buzz to feel alive without being loud. The staff clearly takes pride in what they do; from the greeting at the door to the final check, everything feels intentional and professional. The food is what really stands out. Perfectly cooked steaks, great appetizers, and drinks that are crafted, not poured. You can tell they focus on quality over shortcuts. It’s a place that makes you slow down and enjoy the evening, definitely worth the price for the experience. Highly recommend for anyone wanting something upscale, comfortable, and genuinely Texan in spirit.

We had dinner here this evening for my birthday. I’ve been a server for 15 years so my expectations are pretty high when we dine out. I have to say, not only were our expectations and needs met, they were exceeded. Our server, Jordan R. was phenomenal. He was knowledgeable of not only the menu but of the restaurant as a whole. He provided not just amazing service but a great experience. The flavors profiles in the food were perfect, our cocktails were delicious, even waiting for our table was a great experience. We were met by a cocktail waitress and also by someone passing hors d’oeuvres. My husband and I plan on being back for our ten year wedding anniversary and we can hardly wait.

Had a great experience. Excellent service and food was great. I had the candy bacon chicken sandwich. Unique flavor which I enjoyed. The ambiance of the establishment was dark and intimate. Was definitely pricey.

Actually went for a sales presentation. So this will not be a full review if I went just for dining. We had the filet & mashed potatoes. Also the blackened salmon with jalapeño Mac & cheese. Both were cooked to perfection. They both were delicious. Our waitress was excellent. Very nice atmosphere. Would go back to experience the true dining experience.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing experience at 1845 Steakhouse. Our server, Erika, was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. We ordered the tomahawk steak for the first time, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The sides were just as impressive and complemented the meal perfectly. Highly recommend this place for a great night out with excellent service and incredible food. We’ll definitely be back!

Took my wife here for our anniversary and they did not disappoint. The food was really good; my wife got the fillet which was amazing and I got the smoked prime rib which was quite unique and delicious! The sides were great too, augratten potatoes and the best brussel sprouts I've ever had. Our starter was the pork belly and while delicious, it is very filling so I would share that with more than 2 people if you want room for the main course. Wait staff was very prompt, polite, and informed us about menu options. I will be going back in the future.

My party attended 1845 for my brother’s 21st birthday. Jordan was our server, and he was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE, from attentiveness, clarity and knowledge on the dishes and drinks, whatever we needed, he was on top of it. Service was above and beyond. It was explained the 1845 and all of its decor is in honor of Texas and Texas history. From the wall art to the music (all music played in the restaurant is music made by Texans, pretty cool if you ask me). But this doesn’t mean it’s like a ranch or a hacienda. The main dining area is comfortable and dimly lit as a high end restaurant should be, inviting and comfortable. Our table of 5 shared the appetizer, “the Texas Experience” which is a sample platter of several of their other appetizers, Lockhart Fried Quail, Poblano Meatballs, Pork Belly, and Fried Jalapeños, all with their respective dips for maximized flavor. This appetizer is an absolute highlight of the restaurant and if you are with a party of 3 or 4 it’s almost plenty of food to get you through the night. We all had drinks and cocktails (of course it’s a 21st bday party). I had the Woodford old fashioned (had 2 actually) and it was made exactly right, citrus and bitters, with the lovely flavor of Woodford Reserve (not a Texas whiskey, which…I think maybe a good idea to switch to a Texas whiskey of your restaurant is based on Texas and Texas history, but I digress, because the drink was perfect, just a thought.) We all ordered different cuts of Steak for our entrees. I ordered the 14 oz ribeye, cooked medium rare. I ordered 2 sides to go with it, and added a side of grilled shrimp. The steak is the interesting part. I was NOT blown away by it. Maybe it’s because the appetizers were so beyond excellent that they overshadowed the steak. However, even with the house peppercorn sauce the steak was underwhelming. It was cooked perfectly to medium rare like I asked, but the flavor was just not hitting me the way o was anticipating. The shrimp however, were EXCELLENT! I remember thinking I should have ordered as my entree instead…The mashed potatoes were another dish that were slightly underwhelming. They lacked some of the flavors that I really look for in mashed potatoes at a good steak house, butter, garlic, pepper, a hint of chives maybe….none of that was present, to me they came off bland and a little dry. The last thing I ordered was the Macaroni and cheese, and this is an absolute banger. It was a component to every dish I ordered and was another highlight of the evening for me. Creamy and delicious, the macaroni and cheese is a clear standout. Finally the Bourbon Peach Cobbler with vanilla ice cream was ordered as dessert. We all got a few bites and it was a wonderful way to end the meal. I would highly suggest the peach cobbler. In the end, I would definitely go back to 1845, I would try things a little different, and literally would try any entree beside the steaks…sounds weird I know. But if you are a Texan, as I am…you’ve had some really good steak, and their steak, at those prices, just wasn’t up to snuff with the rest of the food. I would highly recommend trying 1845 if you are looking for some unique, savory, delicious food.

Google
This place is fantastic from the minute you walk in the front door to the minute you are walking out. We only live about 20 minutes away and now I’m mad at myself for waiting so long to try it. The food is amazing, and the service is stellar. Very comfortable and such a cool ambiance about the whole place. Taylor waited on us and made the whole experience so much fun. After dinner we wandered outside to the patio and enjoyed the fire pits and TV’s and had a nightcap. Thank you for an amazing experience. We can’t wait to come back!! Best Texas themed restaurant I’ve ever been to.

Yelp
Great service, Get the Tomahawk Steak! Although everything is great!! All ages welcome, treated well, servers are very accommodating

Jeff M.

Yelp
The food was fresh and flavorful. We had the ribeye and filet, both were cooked as we had ordered. The sweet potatoes was a perfect pairing with the steaks. The service was on point.

Mark G.

Yelp
Food was outstanding and the service was great. Atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxing. Had the porter house steak and the meetball appetizer. Look forward to enjoying again.

Yelp
So, this was my second time visiting. The first time I arrived about 10 minutes after eight on a Sunday evening. I made a specific trip in because the picture of the chicken fried steak they had on their yelp profile looked tremendous. I came in, didn't see it on the menu that evening, and with shear disappointment asked the server if I could get it. He said yes, absolutely no problem. It was perfectly cooked quite large, made from a ribeye that was trimmed nicely, no fat or gristle. The green beans were hot and seasoned well. The mashed potatoes were absolutely wonderful. Service was stellar. Fast-forward to last night, Saturday evening. My daughter and her fiancé wanted to take us out to dinner. We had a waiter named Emilio, I wanted her fiancée to try the chicken fried steak, but again it was not on the menu. Bummer! Not to worry Emilio said he'll make it happen. He gave us tremendous service. Everything was quick and attentive, and he was super professional and did not interrupt. Between the appetizer and the meal, the front of the house manager walked by. I asked to speak with him. His name was Chris. I had to tell him what a phenomenal job that Emilio was doing, taking very good care of us. I'm a long time Marty B's customer and this is one of their properties. He was very appreciative of the information and gave me his card. A few minutes later the meal was served and again absolutely zero disappointment. My daughter got the red fish. My wife, the chicken fried steak and it's such a large portion she ended up taking about half of it home, which Emilio packed up for us. All in all a tremendous meal with very good service, and like all Marty B's properties. Pro tip: go to Marty B's coffee shop in Bartonville for after dinner coffee and dessert. If you want ice cream it's a short walk across the parking lot. Again zero disappointments. The Affogato's made a grand finale to our meal. Thank you, Chris and Emilio!

Yelp
My wife's cousin and her husband came up from San Antonio and wanted us to meet them here for dinner. (They chose this spot) Anywho, we ordered some cocktails and appetizers to start off. The appetizer was good, but only one of the cocktails shined in my eyes and that was the Clyde Barrow. The Bonnie Parker was too sweet for my liking. The drink my wife had was the Clyde Barrow, now that drink was strong, just how I like them. I want to taste the alcohol, LOL!! I think we split the wedge salad, I can't remember, but it was good. We also ordered the 14 oz ribeye and split that and we each had a loaded baked potato. Everything was ok, not the best in the world we ever had, just ok. Now we've eaten at plenty of high end steak houses, which better than this one, so that is why the 3 stars. It was ok. The service was good, but will we come back, probably not.

Yelp
I can't do zero stars. Too bad! The manager told me he'd fix it with apps and drinks. That's awesome without a table to eat them on while standing at the bar. Res under Tiffany R. We had 730 reservations, and walked in at 710 and we were told 10 to 15 minutes. Then at 815 we were told by hostess they don't know when table will be ready. At 825 we left. Party of 6 and a birthday worth at least $700 to you. We dropped 550 at a mediocre Mexican food joint after we left. Nice job Marty, You have ruined a 55th birthday for my wife and friends. Never again, not at any of your places. Had her 50th in a concert booth at Marty Bs and we were charged for drinks never received, never went back. You don't care about customers. For you, it's all about profit. Quit booking so tight that you ruin people's plans. This is the third time waiting 45 minutes plus with a res at 1845 and I'm tired of the disrespect. Bye, hope you fucking fail miserably at every single venture in which you are involved. I'm really only mad that I dropped $150 in drinks waiting on a table we would never get and you get to pocket the profit for a failure. Oh, but the staff kept telling us to wait. Your people are great at kissing ass and lying to people. Everyone, go elsewhere and you'll be more satisfied with failure. Lying to customers and telling them just a few more minutes is disrespectful to their time and plans. Which they successfully ruined tonight. This place sucks, never again. If you called me tomorrow and told me we'd eat for free if we came back I'd come back and walk out after ordering to let you waste the food. I will now literally go out of my way to tell people not to attend any of your shit shows.

Yelp
If you want a real taste of Texas this is the place for you. In here everything is Texas. The music, artwork, and food is all locally sourced. Everything is as so delicious and well seasoned. The service was also on point. We arrived around 5 pm to celebrate by friend's birthday. It was to our surprise that we got there in time for their happy hour that runs from 4-6. It had all beer, glasses of wine, and cocktails 50 percent off. It was moderately full. Bailey was our waiter for the evening and he was confident we would enjoy our dinner. Boy was he right. We have the taste of Texas appetizer sampler. It included 4 meatballs, 4 portions of fried quail, 6 pork belly sliders, and fried jalapeño peppers. Everything was delicious but my personal favorite was the Quail. For my main I have the 9oz Fillet with a side of potato's au gratin. I had my fillet medium. It was absolutely delicious, seasoned well, and cooked to perfection. Melted in my mouth. By buddy had the 30oz Texas pork chop. This thing was massive and looked like something Fred Flintstone would eat. To top it off I even ordered dessert. I had the bourbon soaked peach cobbler. So sweet and decadent. I don't usually get desserts and never get peach cobbler but this was worth it. I nearly ate myself into a coma. On time of the delicious food the service was also outstanding. Bailey was great and the managers event stopped by to check on us. They earned all fives stars.

Yelp
Excellent service from our waiter Bailey. The appetizers were good. We had the meatballs. A touch too smoky but good flavors and texture. Also had the queso. Was good but not much quantity. I had the Texas strip steak. Cooked perfectly. My side was au gratin potatoes. Very tasty but a touch salty. My wife had the salmon which she loved as well as the mushroom side dish and jalapeño Mac and cheese. She said they had great flavors but a little salty. We finished with a desert tray which I'd basically say is a sample platter. The deserts were lighter which was great after a big meal and all were very tasty. My only knock is, we had 6 people so the tables in the booths were so overcrowded as they brought the courses so quickly we were scrambling to make room on the table. Otherwise a great experience.

Yelp
Food (5/5): The food is definitely the star of the show. Started off with the Texas Experience as the appetizer which could be a meal on it's own. The Dr Pepper glaze on the pork belly was something else on an already amazing appetizer. The first entrée was the Texas Strip with the Mac & Cheese. The quality of the steak was definitely on point and cooked perfectly to my liking. The surprise on this entree was the Mac & Cheese. This item tends to come out bland at the places I go to that offer it but this one was liquid gold and definitely one of the best I have had so far. The second entrée was the Blackened Redfish with Truffle Fries. The redfish on its own was delicious but with that spicy cream sauce it was pure chef's kiss. Service (5/5): The service here was top notch as you would expect from a nice establishment as this one. The door was opened for us as we walked up to the entrance and greeted with a welcoming hello as we walked in. Our server Jaden provided great service being friendly and attentive making sure our first time visit here was an enjoyable one. Location (5/5): The restaurant is located in a mixed-use district that has other restaurants, businesses, apartments, and a movie theatre. The restaurant itself felt very upscale and had almost like a lounge type feel due to low light atmosphere which I enjoyed. A decent sized restaurant with plenty of seating inside and a very nice bar area as well.

Yelp
Dined here tonight. This was our second trip in and wanted to give it another shot since the first trip wasn't anything to write home about. Everyone deserves a second chance, right? Meatballs are excellent. Such good flavor. It ends there though. Entrees are just downright boring. Nothing special at all. No taste and steaks were extremely over cooked. Waiter pronounced filet mignon with a t at the end. What the hell? Is this the Golden Coral? We also asked what cut of meat was the chicken fried steak when ordering. We wanted to know if it was cube, round, sirloin, flank etc. Waiter didn't know and said he would go back and ask the chef. He came back and said it's a beef steak. No kidding!! Can't make this up. Manager never came by to check on us. Sad to say, this is a poorly run establishment from the top down. Luckily your meatballs saved you from zero stars.

Yelp
1845 was 100 -the service can't be beat. It's called 1845 because that's the year Texas became a US State. The rib eye was excellent. In fact, I've never had a server shine a light on my steak and ask me to cut into the middle of the meat and inspect if it was cooked to my desire. The Brussels sprouts taste much better than they look. The deep fried jalapeños are very addicting. The fried quail tasted just like chicken. The sweet potato was quite delicious. Everything was on point.

Yelp
1845 Taste Texas is awesome steak house & restaurant with some pretty tasty options. Additionally, the drinks are expertly crafted as well.

Yelp
Jaydon provided excellent friendly professional service. Nice welcome by the Hostesses Desk. Upscale ambiance without being stuffy. Food was expensive but was good enough, drink prices are more reasonable. Managers came by regularly. Definitely a place to return. We had a great time as a 3 generations family of 6.

Yelp
This Lakeside steakhouse with it's posh decor and endless country tracks providing background music is the epitome of southern fine dining. The ambiance gives a special occasion vibe, but the fact that it's one of Marty B's establishments means that there isn't a hint of pretentiousness here. Before even mentioning the food I have to point out how impeccable the service was from beginning to end. Our server was very attentive and all of our food and drinks arrived quickly. Cocktails came first, an old fashioned for my husband and an 1845 margarita for me. They were well balanced and so smooth and tasty it was evident that they used top shelf liquors. Now onto the food...We both started with caesar salads. They were pretty standard, but for me, a standard caesar salad is still a good thing. For entrees my husband got a 7oz. filet with green beans and I had the salmon with jalapeno mac and cheese. He thought the flavor of his steak was delicious and the meat was as tender as it could be. His only issue was that it was closer to rare than the medium rare he requested. My salmon was buttery soft and perfectly cooked. The jalapeno mac and cheese was gooey and scrumptious. As outstanding as they were, I would have preferred them both to be a tiny bit less salty. Although I consider our issues to be minor, I feel like they're amplified by the high menu prices, which is where the 4 star rating comes from. Nevertheless, the whole experience was still unforgettable and enjoyable so I would absolutely return. I may just have to wait for my next birthday, anniversary or winning lotto ticket (j/k!) to do so.

Yelp
If you have ever seen the movie "inside out" imagine the excitement that joy gets when things are going great with Riley. Well that is what your taste buds do inside, the pure joy you receive is out of this world. We decided to try the Texas sampler and the smoked pork chop. First time and figured it's a good way to really dive in and get a feel for the restaurant and its flavors. If I can say I was more excited than a child at Disney it would be an understatement. I want to begin by saying I travel a lot. I am a foodie and also cook myself. With that said I have had pork chops before. There is a location that's known for a 7 finger pork chop and it's an elegant place. Well mover over because 1845 is the new Sheriff in town. The chop was beautifully presented, the smoke rings, the tenderness, juicy full of flavor chop. The entire table was astonished on how beautifully cooked and power packed with flavor it was. I tell you when I went caveman on the bone I had no shame that I was in a high end restaurant. My inner meatavore had to clean the bone of all its meat. I'm pretty sure the bone would have tasted good as well. On to the Texas sampler. I'm telling you as I am replaying this meal in my head my mouth is salivating for the flavors and textures of all these items. Ok so sampler, comes with pork belly sliders with a homemade Dr Pepper glaze, the tender, moist lightly battered quail drum and thigh, buttery, flaky deep fried jalapeño chips with a homemade ranch, Pablano cheese meatballs with jalapeño jelly. I'm telling you amazing just look at the pictures. We ended it with a bang and got the dessert sampler. I have to say from lowest to blow your mind, turtle cheesecake, seriously just a cheesecake, then the churro perfect bite. Now we are getting somewhere with the bourbon peach cobbler. I mean I'm not peach guy but this was outstanding. Then when I tell you that I took a bite of this next dessert and said I'm pretty sure grandmas back there cooking this up I'm not kidding. Kicker it's actually the grandmothers recipe of the chef or owner. Oh you want to know what dessert it is, it's the blueberry crumble. So so good. Now I'm a chocolate guy and the last item was a double chocolate heaven served God creation on a plate. Like last thing I would eat type of dessert. I mean it when I say everything was on point, the service, the food, the ambience the entire experience. I am already planning meetings with people and incorporating this restaurant as a spot to hit up.

Yelp
Hands down the best pork chop in America. Every time I travel to Texas, I make a point to come here to get their smoked pork chop

Yelp
Dined at 1845 Texas a couple of times in the past. Always a good experience. Happy Hour this time was just as nice. Since the non-happy hour apps looked more appealing we tried a couple of those too. Also took advantage of the 1/2 price wine by the glass. The pork belly, smoked salmon and smoked wings (HH) were all very good. Service was great as is the atmosphere.

Yelp
I've never had a steak I truly enjoyed, but I've been craving one lately and decided to give 1845 a try. I've been wanting to visit for a while, and I'm so glad I finally did. This was an incredible dining experience from start to finish. The food, service, and ambiance were all exceptional! Food: - Espresso Martini: A solid, well-balanced espresso martini with a great ratio. I thoroughly enjoyed it! - Trio Platter: This dish includes pimento cheese, salsa, and queso served with seasoned chips. The chips were crispy and perfectly seasoned. I loved the pimento cheese for its sweetness and the smoky flavor of the salsa. I'm not usually a fan of queso, but my friend really enjoyed it. - Fried Jalapeños: A must-try if you like the heat! Our waiter, Jaden W., mentioned they're made with fresh jalapeños which means it's super spicy, so we had to order them. They arrived hot, fresh, and seriously spicy. The house-made ranch paired perfectly. - 9 oz Filet Mignon with Au Gratin Potatoes: This was, hands down, the best steak I've ever had. When I received it, both the waiter and manager wanted to make sure it was cooked right. I ordered it in medium, but it did come out a little more medium rare. They both asked if I wanted it to be cooked more and I was hesitant by the looks of it, but I wanted to give it a try. When I did, I realized that it was cooked to perfection. The charred exterior had incredible seasoning, while the interior was tender and smooth-a perfect balance of texture and flavor. The Au Gratin Potatoes were creamy, cheesy, and delicious. - Cheeseburger with French Fries: My friend ordered this well-done. I'm not a big burger person, but this was a great one. The bun's sweetness balanced nicely with the savory patty. I enjoyed the thin and warm fries, though my friend prefers them crispier and hotter. I know that they would have no worries adjusting it, but it wasn't a big issue for her-so we were fine. - Double Chocolate: Served with my favorite, Blue Bell ice cream, this dessert was rich and satisfying. The chocolate component was excellent, but I found the vanilla cream cheese layer a bit overwhelming for my taste. Service: The service at 1845 was outstanding from the start of me walking in and leaving the restaurant. Everyone we interacted with and walked past, everyone was extremely kind and well-mannered. Starting with when we walked in, the hostesses, each of them were welcoming and helpful. As we were waiting for our table, Bobby, the bar manager, went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. I asked him some questions in regard to me not being a "steak person." He answered all my questions and recommended the medium filet mignon, which turned out to be the perfect choice. Our waiter, Jaden W., was exceptional--kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. He explained menu items in detail and made sure everything was perfect, especially my steak. Both Jaden and Bobby checked in to ensure my steak was cooked just right. Their attention to detail and professionalism truly elevated the experience. I'll definitely return and will always ask for Jaden W.! Ambiance: The atmosphere was lively and fast-paced, with moody, dim lighting and a Texas-inspired theme. The music added to the experience, featuring a variety of Texas artists-a fun and educational touch. Overall, I highly recommend!

Yelp
Second time here and it was just as memorable as the first. I can't express how perfect this place is for a casual dinner or a gathering of many. My party was for 10 people and we had two servers. We needed or wanted for nothing. They were attentive and just as excited for each course to arrive. We started with two sample boards for the table. It had fried quail, fried jalapeño slices, meatballs, and pork belly sliders. Absolutely delicious! I also got a "new fashion" cocktail and it was so good. I believe it was an anejo tequila and a reposado with orange bitters and a hint of vanilla and orange. So so good! I just had to have the smoked prime rib again. I asked for medium but should've went with my normal med rare. It was still very tender and tasty. The smoked flavor came through with every bite. It came with au jus and horseradish. I added a loaded baked potato and brussels. All were perfectly prepared and warmed my palate quite lovely. For the final course we ordered a couple of dessert platters. I believe it came with 6 various items that also included ice cream and gummy worms. Man what do they put in this food! Lol. It was so good. We ended the night we great conversations and wonderful interactions with the staff.

Yelp
This is a great middle upscale place that prides itself on great service and food at a decent price. I've dined here a few times and i'm surprised I haven't reviewed them before. The service starts when you arrive and are greated at the door by one of the hostesses. Kind of a nice touch. Same when they open the door for you as you leave. Service is quick and efficient and the wait staff is very nice. Also, I had barely gotten my salad when the manager stopped by and introduced himself. The food is very good and I pretty much always get the smoked prime rib. Delicious!

Yelp
Service was superb. Food was phenomenal. From the very beginning of service, our waiter kicked off a memorable dining experience. He was engaging and attentive. He shared his favorites when prompted but was never pushy. Every single dish we ordered was pure perfection. Overall ambiance was great, from the decor to the music. All great vibes and the flavors all measured up. Highly recommend the bacon/pork belly, meatballs and fried jalapeños. I'd probably also recommend the fried quail if I had room to try it, but I needed to leave room to consume my filet. Lol. All companions also raved about the food, so overall home run. Will be back for sure.

Yelp
This place was amazing. The food was delicious and well seasoned. The ambiance was nice and a little dim. Tried the artichoke dip and was pleasantly surprised by the smoky flavoring and was delicious! I got the Texas strip and was one of the best steaks I've had. Even my husband agreed was better than some Dallas steakhouse we recently went to. The service was next level between the friendly hosts and the attentive server even seeing managers going by the table to check on everything. Our server was so patient with us as we were really just catching up and losing track of time. Great place to try I will definitely be back

Yelp
The best filet mignon I have ever had. Hands down. I've been here twice and try to visit as much as possible when I'm in town from California. Love the ambiance, and our servers have always been informative and very sweet!

Yelp
Last night was our second visit to this little gem after discovering it last week. My FIL's 80th birthday was coming around the corner and we knew this place would be perfect for a celebration. Both visits were amazing! The cuisine delicious and the staff impeccable. Last week's visit, I ordered the 7 oz filet, medium rare with truffle fries. My hubby ordered the prime rib with a loaded baked potato and we shared a wedge salad. Last night, we started with the onion rings - not on the menu but they are good if you like those. My hubby ordered the same thing from last week. My MIL got the shrimp cocktail with asparagus. My FIL ordered the fried shrimp with fries. After checking out some of the reviews here, I ordered the smoked pork chop and truffle fries. Honestly, I think I could just make a meal out of those truffle fries (I LOVE it) and a salad. The entrees arrived well paced from the onion rings. Everything looked amazing! However, I think the star of the show was the pork chop! Double bone in, thick and moist with a nice char on the outside. I gave everyone a bite along with a little dip of the plum sauce that goes with it. It's huge so I ended up taking it home. The fried shrimp must have been good because they were all gone. Well? What are you waiting for? Go there, get some. Life is too early for boring food. Just be sure to go early or make reservations because it's a small place. Don't sleep on the dirty martinis and wine. You can't go wrong with anything you choose but you definitely need to try that chop.

Yelp
Took my Mom for a nice meal when she was in town and we weren't disappointed. Great atmosphere, food & service. Kudos to Jaden B as he was knowledgeable, answered all our questions and very personable. The bone in pork chop was delicious and my Mom said it was the best chicken fried steak she'd ever had. We were both impressed and will be returning. Highly recommend reservations if possible as the restaurant isn't that large.

Yelp
Yes to the pork chop - it's stupid big, in a good way. Well smoked and tender. The truffle fries amazing. Good amount of truffle oil that will keep you tasting it over and over again, lol! My spouse had the Texas strip (like a NY strip, but we are in Texas, after all) and was probably one of the better cuts of steak she's had. The place is pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Yelp
I visited this location a long time ago when it was still Carvao, Brazilian steakhouse. Having that previous, outstanding experience, I had a slight doubt on how the new 1845 compares. Saturday evening seemed to be popular, with 40 min waiting time -- which was a good sign. Finally set at the table, and having tasted the first bite of my medium rare ribeye, the doubt was gone. Great quality of food and service, in a very relaxed and vivid environment. The steaks are just a bit on expensive side but well on par with quality. Next time visiting here, I would take the smoked prime rib which was told to be the speciality of the place.

Yelp
Not the best, not the worst , not as good as they think they are. Very friendly nice staff , starts to fall off from there . Our table being in the back corner even with a reservation didn't help, walking down the long hall way past dozens of booths then sitting at a table gave it a cafeteria vibe . Great waitress explained how the setting was all Texas - Texas music and Texas artists with art work on walls . All we saw was some modern art panting or poster with columns of color and a TV with same anything but Texas theme display of some kind of modern art . If they played Texas themed music couldn't hear it. Apps were very good - queso and salad with super nice dressing . Prime rib was very good, filet ok. Redfish was horrible . Yea - who gets fish at a steakhouse but in this case complete waste of $39 . Overcooked, unbelievably dry smothered in thin sauce - I assume to try to cover up the bad fish - literally spit it out. . Au gratin potatoes are supposed to be a specialty but only if you like soupy potatoes with almost no cheese.

Yelp
This time around, I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed all around. Let's start with the bar... a glass of Ruffino Rose sparkling is $16 or so, when you can buy a bottle for $12.99. Ouch. Better do happy hour. Second, there were several people coming up telling us to move here or there and it seemed like management was not on the same page. Also, even though my steak as usual was pretty darn delicious, I was there for my 50th birthday, and there was no acknowledgment except a lighted bottle? Darn... our bill was over $500, and they couldn't sweat a cupcake? Ouch. And to top it off, they tossed out our to go food on accident. I felt like it was a bit of a keystone cop operation happening this evening. Ouch.

Yelp
Love this restaurant! Texas themed and they play majority of Texas artists. Knew almost every song. All the food I've had the different times I've been have been amazing. Today we had a reservation for 7:30 but didn't get sat till 8 and the manager brought us a glass of champagne each. Appreciated the toast and apologies for the long wait. We started with a Caesar salad. The dressing is home made. Then we split the ribeye and shared asparagus, mashed potatoes and au gratin potatoes. Everything had such great flavor. We ended dinner with peach cobbler. So yummy.

Yelp
UPDATE: After my last experience, I left a review that drew the attention of a manager (Brian). He reached out to me and asked if I would be open to a phone conversation to discuss my experience further. I found it peculiar as my review wasn't damning in the least bit however I noted a slight disappointment in the quality of the food I received. We spoke and I reiterated my sentiment from the review and he was understanding and said that it is abnormal for them to overcook steaks as they usually err on the side of caution. It was a very busy night and we are all human so an overcooked steak isn't the end of the world nor does it make you a bad establishment. They were very accommodating that night and remade it and everything was good. The location isn't particularly close to my residence so I stated that I probably wouldn't be returning but it is great for a night out if you are in the area. A sentiment I still stand behind. Brian was apologetic and asked if I would be willing to give them another shot. I said sure why not. He said that he would send a gift card and whenever I get the chance to stop in again as that wasn't their best representation. I thought that was extremely generous of him because like I stated before I wasn't some severely unhappy customer. For him to put that level of effort to ensure satisfaction along with the service that I received impressed me. I returned for round two. The ambiance is very impressive. Very busy in the front of the restaurant but more calm and relaxed in the rear section with the tables. I was very hesitant to get another steak however if Brian went through the trouble of reaching out and sending a gift card, the least I could do was give the respect of allowing them a second chance. Our server (I forgot her name but she was amazing), arrived quickly and had an extremely pleasant demeanor. We placed an order for the Tomahawk ribeye and she informed me that since it was a larger cut of meat, it will take a little longer to bring out. I was perfectly fine with that. Now with my first visit being over an hour I was expecting about that long. About 10 minutes later, a manager came to speak to us (Jackson if I'm not mistaken) and introduced himself. He stated that he was over the area that we were seated and if we need anything, not to hesitate to reach out. Throughout the wait, I noticed that he was very involved with other tables, helping clear them and checking on them as well. About 20 mins after ordering the food arrived. One thing that I noticed is that the table didn't have salt or pepper and my initial reaction was to ask for some before I even tried the steak. I refrained. It looked amazing, I cannot lie. I decided to try a piece and I was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED! It needed NOTHING! This steak was night and day different that the first one I had. It wasn't a Tomahawk but a ribeye nonetheless. I flagged Jackson down and asked him to get Brian for me. I wanted to say hi and let him know that I made it back. I assured Jackson that it was a good thing and no complaints lol. We met and he was just as nice as before and wished us a great meal. After a few more check ups from our waitress who was dead on about the brownie dessert....IT'S HIT BTW and Jackson came at the conclusion of our meal and said that he spoke to Brian and he informed him of our last encounter and to give him honest feedback. I told him that this visit from the top down, was nothing short of amazing. It wasn't like we received special treatment as I didn't make myself noticed until the food came and we felt seen. We were served as if we mattered. That is all you truly want as a patron. The steak was flavorful, appropriately cooked, seasoned to perfection, tender, well presented, and timely. I informed Jackson that in all honesty that I am still unsure if I will be returning due to the proximity of my residence and the fact that it is a little on the pricey side and I am not sure of the barometer. Will it be more like the first experience or is this the bar? At the price point, Im unsure if I want to gamble. That is in NO WAY a slight to them because what I received that night was a 5 star experience from top down. I am just an extremely honest person. Fast forward to about 3 or 4 days later, I received a phone call from a lady representing the restaurant and she asked for feedback from my experience and my ideas on anything that they can do better to enhance the customer experience. Let me tell you this. That level of attention to detail, customer service and complete buy-in speaks to culture! In a society where people are working to survive, the entire staff there GENUINELY CARES about the service that they provide! That sold me, I will be a repeat customer from here on out! THE TEAM AT 1845 TASTE TEXAS IS TOP NOTCH!!!!!!!

Yelp
Y'all. RUN don't walk here. This place is amazing! Drinks were so good: recommend the Bonnie Parker. The ribeye was delicious as were the au gratin potatoes. Ambiance is on pointe and the nod to Texas and Texas history (hence 1845) adds a cool fair! Service was impeccable. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We are from Ft Worth.... Please please open one there!!

Yelp
We came back for my friends proposal because my friend wanted a beautiful restaurant with good food. 1845 Taste Texas delivered!!! Our server was Emilio and he was wonderful! He did a great job at upselling because we never had our drinks to the very bottom before he would ask if we'd like refills. He went through the concept of the restaurant, and explaining the menu as well as giving great recommendations. Very knowledgeable and attentive. When we left he even mentioned the days that happy hour is occurring and times lol. We live far and by the end of the night I wanted to come back to check out happy hour. Put the kid in sales! The food was delicious. We started off by the appetizer plate that comes with a little bit of everything, the Texas experience. Honestly I tried everything except for the quail(everyone finished it before I had a chance to try lol). My fave was the pork belly. It was late so hubby and I shared a salad with chicken, but my friend had prime rib, his finance had a Texas strip and his cousin had an 1845 salad. Everything was wonderful! We had this food and at least 2 rounds of drinks each for about ~$400. Def worth a visit!

Yelp
I will start off by saying this place truly exceeded my expectations. Reservations for 4:30 on Sunday came in and we were sat immediately no wait. My only real complaint about this place was the lighting it was dark. I had the Clyde barrow for the drink and it was hands down the best cocktail I have ever had! Perfect amount of sweetness but not overbearing. Ordered the Texas experience as an appetizer pork belly was the best followed by the fried quail which I had never had and then fried jalapeños and then meatball was blah nothing amazing. I ordered the smothered chicken and my partner the pork chop which was HUGE! Service was great water was never empty and always checking on us but not bothersome. Don't hesitate check them out. We for sure will be back.

Yelp
Loved this place though I'm embarrassed I could not finish the pork chop. HUGE!! Nice local place, vibrant crowd and very busy. Had a couple of apps - pork belly was especially good. We were greeted and seated right away on a busy Wednesday. Had a very nicely done Old Fashioned. All of the portions are pretty big and very well done. I ordered the pork chop because I love bone-in entrees but this chop at 30 oz blew me away. It's a go to local spot!

Yelp
The food and service were incredible! You must try the filet queso. So so good. Chicken fried steak was the best anywhere. Filet medallions, perfect! Big portions and all fresh homemade. Excellent restaurant.

Yelp
We came in for my daughter's birthday and we had a big party with us. Our waiters were great and very informative. Our drinks and appetizers came out in a timely manner. The food was amazing! I did find some hair in my food but I let them know and they replaced my meal swiftly. Honestly that didn't taint my experience nor did it take away from the food. It was so good! Would definitely come back again whenever we are in town! The environment is dark and mellow. They play music from artists that are from Texas, which I thought was great! I couldn't take a picture of the food because it was dark, but trust when I say everything looked great and tasted delicious!

Yelp
The thick bacon with the Dr Pepper sauce melted in my mouth. The salmon was excellent alongside the Brussels sprouts with bacon that gave this extra flavor. I am going to go back whenever my next trip is to Dallas. I can only summarize their food In one word, phenomenal!

Yelp
Saturday night , we had a birthday party at 1845 in Flower Mound. I was not aware of their strict rules, such as no cake brought in, no decorations, no seating until all 10 people arrived, and a limited time period to dine. As I was putting up two flower arrangements with a very elegant gold balloon on each arrangement, I was told initially I had to remove everything from the table as it destroyed the ambiance of the restaurant. I spoke to Jake, and he was very uncooperative until I told him the 10 of us may leave. He spoke with someone who finally said we could have the flower arrangements, but the balloons had to go. I also spoke to Bobby who was nicer but also followed the NO attitude of the restaurant. My group has celebrated many events at this restaurant but the new attitude toward celebrations will prohibit that in the future. I will say , our waitresses were wonderful and did everything to make the rest of the evening pleasant.

Yelp
Great customer service so far!! Wow! Delicious food!! Seasoned to perfection. Christopher our waiter was so nice. I was really impressed with how much he checked on us and so did other waiters. The food the food the food ! Sooo good. You just have to try it yourself to see. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Went for a date night. It was the best experience at a restaurant I've ever had! I did make a reservation since we went on a Saturday night. The ambiance was wonderful. The lightening was dark, but each table had a small lamp that gave plenty of light. Our server was very attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and explained the concept of the restaurant to us. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. We had no room for dessert! The smoked salmon was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the smothered chicken and I ordered the Texas Strip. The steak melted in my mouth. It was wonderful! He had zero complaints about his entree. It was pricey, but well worth every penny we paid!

Yelp
We've been to 1845 several times. This most recent visit was the first disappointment. The poblano meatballs never disappoint. My wedge salad had next to zero dressing on it. I asked, and was brought more, but that should have been noticed before it was brought out. Our filet was ordered rare plus, but was actually on the far end of medium rare. I can overlook this at the average joint, but not a semi upscale steakhouse. The Brussel sprouts and potatoes au-gratin were good, but the portion size was skimpy at best. $8 for less than half a potato and $8 for possibly 5 sprouts cut in half. I wasn't looking for value, but it was a tiny portion. For the same price, we could have gone to Bob's with their fantastic carrot. Maybe Marty has too many irons in his fire and quality is slipping.

Yelp
I had an absolutely wonderful birthday dinner here. The server and bar manager of the night provided a great experience. Since I'm writing this review a bit late, I forgot the server and bartender's names. Nevertheless, I truly appreciated the excellent service they provided, along with the thoughtful touch of the cute little bottle to signify a celebration.

Yelp
We went for the first time a couple weeks ago. I had the filet migon which was amazing. The 1845 salad was also surprisingly great. My husband ordered the pork chop, which was twice what was expected. He managed to get 3 meals out of it. The service was so good, so many people work there and are super on top of it. The atmosphere was really nice. We were there on a Saturday evening and while we had a reservation we still had a small wait, but the bar maid came by and took our drink order and was super quick. Definitely going back. I forgot to mention the cobbler was to die for

Yelp
Whooooooweee! I don't even know where to start with this place. My first time there tonight for my bestie's 50th birthday. It was kind of a rough start but the ENTIRE staff made the entire night amazing between the hostesses, management and our amazing waiter Elijah. (Please give that man a raise). I forgot to take pictures of the food I had. But the chips with the spinach artichoke dip was phenomenal. The birthday girl who is not even a fan of artichokes LOVED it. It had a smoky flavor to it and the chips were very fresh and tasty!! I didn't have the wings but someone at our table did and boy was she having an out of body experience. She stated those were THE best wings of her life!!! They also had a smoky flavor and she was almost in tears they were that good. (Note to self: I'm getting those next time lol) I had the wedge salad with extra bacon and blue cheese crumbles. Man....when I tell you this salad as simple as it is was amazing that I ate every last bit of it and I usually do not do that with any of my food. While some of the items can be a little on the pricey side.....between the ambiance, staff, service and the food it is worth every penny! This is definitely the place to go for a special occasion for sure! Now I've saved the BEST for last. We ordered the dessert platter (I got pictures of that!!!) OMG when I saw the Swedish fish on that platter I was thinking am I in heaven? But that wasn't even the best part. I don't even remember the names of the items but I tried a bite of everything and it was so good. My favorite was the churros.... They were warm and when mixed with the ice cream it was well....the best dessert I had. And the turtle brownie was soooooo good. I don't even like brownies and ate some of that too! There was a sauce with bourbon and I think caramel sauce....don't quote me on that but that alone should be a shot there it was so good! When I tell you RUN not walk to this place I mean it. And if you get Elijah as your server you will have the best experience ever! I cannot wait to go again.
