"Find romance and grandeur at 1877 Estrela Palace. As the property itself describes, it's filled with 'maximalist charm,' housing bedrooms draped in soft, velvet, technicolor furnishings and gold detailing throughout. And because the hotel has just nine rooms and suites, every guest will feel like it's their own private palace." - Travel + Leisure Editors

A beautiful hotel right in the heart of Aveiro. The location was perfect, central to everything. Our room was beautiful and had everything we needed. The staff was really nice and took care of us. Breakfast was good! Just two minor complaints. First, they only give you one key per room so often when my partner and I were separate I had to go downstairs to let him into the building since he didn't have his own key. Lastly, our room was on the top floor next to the kitchen so at all hours of the night (including at 4am), I could hear staff working / talking loudly in that area. Otherwise we had a beautiful stay and I would recommend!

From the minute we walked into this beautifully restored hotel we knew we made the right choice. We were warmly greeted at the front desk and offered a glass of port wine. Our room was tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. The rooftop bar, breakfast room was lovely and the breakfast had a lot of great choices. The hardworking staff was there to make dinner reservations and make suggestions on what to do in Aveiro. I highly recommend this hotel to others!

Charming hotel with uniquely decorated and well-appointed rooms. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable. Don’t miss the top-floor honor bar—such a great touch! The location is perfect, with excellent restaurants just a short walk away.

What a charming hotel in the center of Aveiro. 1877 is a beautifully restored hotel with each room being named and decorated with a significant person from the city. If you are able book the master bedroom it is an incredible suite. The parking is free in the forum shopping center across the road and the hotel can also book your gondola ride. Such a unique property - one of the most beautiful rooms I have stayed in.

Everything about this stay was perfect. Beautiful, immaculate room in magnificently restored building. The beds were like sleeping on clouds, and the room surprisingly quiet even though facing the street. Nice terrace bar on the top floor where an excellent breakfast was served. The staff was attentive and helpful and always available. Parking was complementary in the underground lot a very short walk away, and the location is the best, with dining and shopping and gondola riding and museums and… I could go on and on.

Nearby many attractions, it was easy to find, if not a little difficult to park infront of. Nevertheless it all worked out in the end. We received a warm welcome and continued to re-park the car in the near-by car park.  The room was quirky and fun, tastfully featuring designer elements and selected furniture. Due to the room’s shape, it was rather difficult to find space for 2 large suitcases, but we managed somehow. The safe in the wardrobe had to be unlocked by the staff. Strangely enough, it wasn’t attached to any heavy furniture, thus could have been taken at any time. Yes, the whole safe! One bedside lamp didn’t work. We reported it to the staff on our first day. The lamp was taken, but it wasn’t replaced throughout our stay (3 nights). The room looked out onto the canals and one of the main streets in Aveiro. We had to close the windows to reduce the noise at night. The roof-top breakfast room/ honesty bar was a delight. The breakfast always had something for everyone and was tastefully displayed. The staff was always friendly and professional.

Absolutely loved this place. It's an easy walk from the train station, very centrally located, and it had the best hotel breakfast we've *ever* had in Portugal. The room, a junior suite, was reasonably spacious and the bedding was excellent. The pillows and mattress were perfect. Everything was spotlessly clean. The shower has a rain shower head, the pressure and temperature are great, and the decor is excellent. The roof top sitting area has a view of the canal and was a pleasant place to relax. The staff was very nice, particularly at breakfast. Food is brought to you at your table, some pre-selected and some that you order. If I may make one suggestion, a printed menu would be handy so that you know what all you *can* order. We didn't know you could get a yogurt, for example, until we were already done eating. Not a big deal at all, but the only thing I thought could use improvement. Well worth the price and would stay there again without hesitation were I in the area.

This hotel was superb. The staff was super friendly and helpful in making recommendations and dinner reservations. Our room was spacious and very romantic. The electric fireplace was lit when we returned each evening which was a nice touch. The location was great- walking distance to several restaurants, bars, shopping and the boats on the canal, also a 15 min easy walk to the train station. The breakfast was delicious with lots of selections. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine at the roof top honor bar while enjoying the view of the canal. Parking was a little tricky but was close by once we got out bearings. The front doors are always locked so just knock. The hotel only has 8 guest rooms which made it cozy and quaint!
