The 16 Best Restaurants In Todos Santos, Mexico - Todos Santos - The Infatuation

"1890 is a glamorous restaurant in the very small, very fancy new Todos Santos Boutique Hotel. Walk down a marble staircase lined with palms and you’ll find people in leather booths eating brioche slathered with butter or downing oysters Rockefeller under dramatic chandeliers. After you’ve had your fill of glitz and juicy, slow-grilled chicken (our favorite dish), visit the wine cellar next door, which has over 200 vintages from around the world. Or, move on to La Copa, the hotel’s cocktail bar, for a great martini." - michaela trimble

Beautiful, historic building. Lots of charm. Food is amazing but the service is what makes this place unforgettable. Dined late - 8:30 PM - after a late check in. We chose to dine outside under the stars. Enjoyed some complimentary ribeye sopes before our meal. I had the pork loin and my wife had the shrimp pasta. Both were flavorful and the portions larger than I expected. Our server filled us in on the history of the building and brought our meal to a perfect end. Enjoy!

We received the warmest welcome from Gloria upon entering, Truly the entire staff was phenomenal. Great ambience, excellent food…we especially loved the beer cake for dessert! Overall a wonderful dining experience.

I had a remarkable experience at 1890, nestled within a recently rejuvenated boutique hotel with a rich historical pedigree. The ambiance exudes sophistication and allure, characterized by dark interiors, diverse stone textures, antiqued mirrors, tasteful wallpapers, and plush furnishings that collectively create an inviting atmosphere. Our culinary journey commenced with an off-menu delight: jamon iberico paired elegantly with pitted olives. For the main course, we savored josper-grilled pork chops and a decadent wagyu NY striploin in a red wine reduction, complemented by velvety smooth mashed potatoes. The meal was superbly crafted and accompanied by impeccable service, culminating in an indulgent finale with an opera cake. Beyond the dining experience, the boutique hotel itself is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, featuring exquisite stonework, intricate brick detailing, luxurious textures, and lush tropical greenery. The building, steeped in history dating back to 1890, has been lovingly restored with a nod to local architecture, preserving its original facade and ensuring a visual delight for design aficionados. I highly recommend arriving early to explore the hotel's captivating grounds and delve into its fascinating history. The hotel staff was so accommodating and happily gave us a tour of the grounds and a look inside one of the suites. Pro tip: Begin your evening at La Copa, their lounge and bar, for a delightful aperitif. Your visit promises to be an unforgettable journey through time and taste.

This restaurant is spectacular!! We used the wine room for a wedding reception, party of 11. The food is the best in Todos Santos and probably all of Baja. The staff was nothing but perfection. The kindness and attention to detail is unmatched. And the building!! It is so elegant and classy. The best decision we made was choosing 1890 for our incredibly special event!

Unbelievable experience. My sister and I came only for dessert and the beer cake was divine. The atmosphere was inviting and lovely, and above all, the hostess, Gloria, was SO KIND and made us feel very welcome. We enjoyed our night very much.

This place is incredible. Sophisticated and elegant. The food was perfectly on point. It was my Birthday and they surprised me with a handmade birthday desert. We could not have asked for more.

Fantastic!!! The hotel, bar, restaurant, and the different seating areas inside & out, are gorgeous. Beautifully designed (with clearly no expense spared). And the food was top notch, as good as any major city high-end offering. We were very pleasantly surprised at how perfectly prepared all the food was (we had apps and ‘surf and turf’ mains (totoaba fish & filet / steak), all spot-on tasty and beautifully served. We ate downstairs inside by the kitchen (which we loved to get to see) & recommend it. The wait staff was very well trained which was lovely-everyone that worked there was doing a great job. We live in San Miguel de Allende & wish this place was there—we will go to 1890 any time we are in the area & look forward to staying at the hotel next time. I wish we’d stayed there this time. We also ate at Benno restaurant in Todos Santos which recently got a Michelin nod but why 1890 did not is very unclear as everything about it was better than Benno in our experience. Go & enjoy!

We stayed 4 nights at The Todos Santos Inn and ate at La Copa Cocina 6 times, including breakfast. Everything was fantastic. The new chef, Jorge Asciancio is classically trained and serves a great combination of Mexican and international fare. We loved his seafood paella, mole, shrimp enchiladas, grilled octopus, butternut gnocchi with duck ragu, beet salad... everything actually. The beautiful patio seating is so charming with its twinkle lights and small interior space. Magic. We loved the service. Be sure to order drinks from the craft cocktail bar on the upper level. Insanely creative drinks and lots of fun.
