Women-owned and community-forward, this downtown brewery pours small-batch beers and pairs them with Detroit-style pies. It pops up on Stanislaus Arts Council’s Art Walk deals and downtown calendars for live music and special releases.

Google
Cute little brewery located downtown. They have a nice variety of house beers, ciders, seltzers, hard tea along with guest beers and ciders. Their house drinks are more on the lighter side of abv and taste. Nothing terrible, but no standouts either. Most drinks are $8 a pint. Staff are very nice and let you sample before purchasing. They have lots of board games and one large TV for sports. They have a kitchen serving Detroit style pizzas, but they allow outside food as well. Limited amount of seating inside, but there are some tables outside as well. Free street parking, not too difficult to find

Google
My second stop on my impromptu tour of Modesto's brewpub. For a downtown pub, parking on the street was surprisingly easy. Friendly staff, looks like a family run place. Lots of board games to play. Good variety of beers, and my amber ale was decent.

The list is long on reasons to visit 18Seventy Brewing Company. ~They have refreshing slushie drinks. Who doesn't like a cold sake margarita, raspberry rose wine or a passion fruit Moscato slushie? ~They source their ingredients from local farmers. ~The brewery is located in downtown Modesto, making it the perfect spot to unwind from a long work day. ~Happy Hour is on Wednesday from 4:00pm to 9:00pm for $5 drinks. ~They collaborated with the village butcher to create an amazing Stout. ~18Seventy Brewing Co Is women-owned and operated. Nothing is sexier than women making beer. ~It's a dog and kid friendly environment. ~There are board games available to have a friendly game while enjoying a refreshing beer. ~Their beer is full of flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. This is a great date spot. Grab a refreshing slushie or a cold craft beer and get to know each other better. If the date is going well, grab another beer and enjoy a friendly board game. Or venture to some live music in the heart of downtown. I would recommend this brewery have live music or comedy night. It would attract customers and encourage them to stay longer. Google
Great brewery! Beer is delicious and the staff is amazingly friendly. I felt like a regular the second I walked in.

Kananaka

Google
One of three great breweries in downtown Modesto. If you can't decide, ask for a taste of something you think you might want. Or, tell them what you normally like, and they will give you a taste of what they think you might enjoy from their vast selection of house brews and seltzers and guest beers and ciders. This is a brewery of quality craft beer. If you like IPAs for the hop aroma rather than high bitterness, try the Moonlighter New England-style Hazy IPA (8/12/23).

Google
Very nice brew pub going on here. They have a good selection of beers here brewed with love. They have staff were like family and we were very comfortable here. This will be a great stop when I am in town again. Thank you for your hospitality. Cheers 🍻

Google
Live Bridget and Mom, great beer options and pizza. The hard peach teas are amazing!

Google
Great potential, atmosphere is right... The beers though are super light, watery, not much flavor. As this can change over months, do check them out, they can only get better

Yelp
This brewery is located in downtown Modesto, right across from Starbucks, with plenty of convenient street parking nearby. This was our second time visiting, and once again, we were impressed by their great selection of beers and tasty food options. The service was outstanding super friendly and welcoming. There's plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors, and a fun, laid-back atmosphere. They also have a great collection of board games to enjoy while you sip, plus TV usually playing sports. Definitely a great spot to relax and hang out with friends!

Yelp
Stopped here on a Friday evening - the beers were nice and cold and the place itself was cool. Especially since it was like 100 degrees outside. The temperature was comfortable. The beers were nice and cold and my Michelada was super tasty. The rim was yummy and not too spicy it also didn't taste sour or anything sometimes they can taste that way if Bloody Mary mix is used but this one was super yummy. They have a lot of board games as well. Seething may be a bit limited if you go on a day that it gets a little busy but for us it was okay. We got a margarita pizza with jalapeños and it was yummy I appreciate their being good so you can munch on while you drink. It had a lot of basil which I appreciated seeing as some places skimp out. All in all it was great oh and the young ladies working there was super sweet and kind and welcoming.

Yelp
I decided to go to this Brewery because it was close to my hotel and it was women owned, a rarity for breweries. I really enjoyed the beers I had there, a red beer and a saison, both very tasty, They do need to to make the atmosphere a little more bar like, perhaps some music, and a bar with barstools. I really enjoyed talking to the woman who poured my beers, and would have been nice to be closer to the bar.

Yelp
My son and I recently attended a metal show there. The staff was very accommodating, they were kind, and extremely generous. I ordered two pizzas, they were delicious! The restrooms were very clean and well stocked, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Some guys we were hanging out with said the beer was great! We didn't stay inside, but inside families were playing board games and hanging out. 10 out of 10 recommend!

Yelp
We've only been here a couple times for drinks so I'm not sure about the food but there brew options are awesome The mango or guava drink is our go-to. The second time we went we were offered this chamoy and tajined rim. And the flavor matched perfectly with the fruity taste of the cold adult beverage. We sat outside and people watched while we sipped our cold refreshments on a hot Modesto day.

Yelp
This is a woman owned brewery. It's in a great area with lots of restaurants around . They either already serve coffee or will soon I seen online . They have wine, craft beers on tap . They also offer beers to go from other breweries . They now serve pizza and it looked delicious it's Detroit style . I need to go back to try it out . Inside they have game boards to play and a pac man pretty cool . Everyone was really friendly and nice . The only thing I'm a hazy girl and they had no hazy beer here . Overall this is a great location with great beers and great people. I would definitely check them out . I love that they are open till 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

Yelp
PRE-REVIEW. You had me at woman owned and woman brewed. I have been wanting to check this place out for a while and I am super excited that I finally will tonight! I am attending a silent book club here, I have been eagerly waiting for 2 weeks for today to come! Full review to follow.

Yelp
First time out here in a bit (downtown), bc I live in Escalon..do a lot in Oakdale!! Friends invited us out for beer and pizza at this little GEM!! Brigette and her mother have a wonderful Brewery. It's quaint however offers lots of elbow room PLUS they are working on their Beer Garden. Cant wait We had one of each of their 3 pizza offerings, trust me, that's all you need is the 3! Detroit style EXCELLENT, all three with their spicy HONEY Tipping drizzle. WOWWZER EFFECT‼ check them out you will be glad you did. Oh by the way... GREAT BEER TOO. Board games TV'S & good company .

Yelp
Ok I feel like this place is super underrated. Seriously one of the best breweries in Modesto. It's woman owned, and the ladies who run the place are super chill and knowledgeable with their beers. I usually get the ciders (they partner with a cider place in Salida) but they top their ciders with chamoy and tajin. Lately I've been getting their hard seltzers and seriously, super good. Oh and they have a huge wall of games so bring your pals and have a game night :)

Yelp
My family & friends have tried this spot several times over the past couple of years as we are strong believers in supporting our local breweries. Unfortunately, the quality of the beer is all over the place...and disappointing more often than not. We've tried the sampler platters on multiple visits and as much as I/we want to like this establishment, the beer is lacking. And it's not just the taste, often time the OG/mouth feel is all wrong for the style. Having said that, we'll most likely drop back in at some point in the future to see if they've changed brewmasters or recipes...supporting our local breweries no matter what!

Yelp
This is one of our favorite breweries come winter or summer in Modesto. We stopped by today to have a drink and learned they added pizza to their menu. Not only pizza, but Detroit pizza with the most delicious crust and toppings. You can sit at a table and watch a game, fight or just hang out and they will bring your beer and I pizza to your table. The best service always... best service around!!!

Yelp
This place has some Immaculate vibes. I was obsessed with their sour beers! They even have an option to add a Mexican candy for $1. I also saw someone sipping a beer with chamoy, tajin and a pineapple! So yummy. Staff was super friendly and it seemed like a small family owned place. They have a whole bookshelf of board games so this place is perfect for a big group. The inside seemed a little cluttered but outside seating was perfect. The power went out while we were there and the owners were so funny about it and yet very accommodating. Coming back soon!

Yelp
Great beers. I especially enjoyed their hazy IPA's. Parking was a bit difficult but if you don't mind a little walk it's not too bad! There are a good amount of tables inside and outside with games and jenga outside. I saw a couple people playing games inside and can imagine that later in the evening it would be a very fun place to be. Their food vendor, Sabor Mio Quesabirrias was delicious as well.

Yelp
Love the owners. Women owned and women brewed! So much creativity in the beer, seltzer and cider varieties. Love a mango cider with a Tajín chamoy rim! Also it's really beautiful- the wood/industrial look is such a vibe!

Yelp
Stopped in for the first time Saturday afternoon. Not very crowded so I just wondered why they would serve a beer in a plastic cup??? Interesting that everyone around us were enjoying their beer in proper glassware. This was 4:30pm not as if it was gonna close in 5min. Plastic...must be rookies.

Yelp
For those of us who enjoy well crafted beer, created from local sources, and made with a passion and joy - you have to visit and support 18Seventy Brewing Co.('Desto, Ca.)...and she is woman owned! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and brewmaster. She is pleasant, knowledgeable, attentive, and darn right cool! I had a pint of Sonoma Pale Ale. Delicious. Sampled a couple of Hazy IPAs - both amazing! And then a pint of Lux Lager, equally delicious. The beer menu is impressive with a diverse representation for any beer appreciation. She has ciders and seltzer for those who prefer. All the beers had personality, pleasing on the pallet, quality to the taste, refreshingly alive, and damn chilly to quench the thirst. But, for we quality beer drinkers who demand excellent crated ales and stouts, this is a great spot. Good for the locals and economy, and worth the drive if you are curious. I visit monthly as a volunteer with Operation 9-2-99, Tuolumne River clean up (https://sites.google.com/a/monet.k12.ca.us/gdhs-guptill-c/tuolumne-river-project), and I look forward to my next visit. I'll have a couple and a growler to go! Come out and volunteer with Op 9299, say Hello to me and that you read my post...and I'll buy you a beer if you're old enough to drink. "Have growler; will travel." Edward A.

Yelp
Nice little place. Small inside but with some sidewalk seating. Service not great. Not friendly seemed preoccupied. Obviously brewing small batches of beer on the premise - bags of ingredients scattered around. Pizza was pretty good but the edges and pepperoni were burned to a crisp and parts were inedible.
google avatar

Yelp
Bridgette is a fantastic brewer and the beers are so creative! If you live here or passing through it's a chill place to enjoy a craft beer.

Yelp
Ya'll are high if you don't love this place!! They have the best damn pizza in town, hands down. They have over 30 taps of beers, seltzers. , ciders, sours. And they have a million games - added two new ones this week. We go here every week and she always has a new seltzer or some kinda new beer to try.. the negative reviews crack me up. I didn't like my flight - bro you picked it. They let you pick your choices, even when there a line and I still didn't wait that long!! Hahah! Plastic cups...just ask for a damn glass cup, they were probably busy. Blaker gives me a plastic cup when they busy I gid it. You know what this place has over all of them!!!!! Air conditioning!!!!! Real air conditioning!!!!! Hail Mary!!

Daren W.

Yelp
I love visiting with Bridget and "Mom" over a great local beer at 18Seventy. Great beer and company! Their Lux Lager and Eventually Red are my favorites. I'm surprised to see reviews saying they aren't friendly to children. They literally have a shelf full of games for kids of all ages (including me!). I see kids in there all the time. Here's my advice to the people complaining about the atmosphere: patrons are a huge part of the atmosphere of any establishment. Bring a positive attitude and leave the negative thoughts at home and you'll love this place!

Yelp
Loved this place. The family owned atmosphere is so inviting. The frozen guava pineapple cider is delicious with chopped up fruit. The nitro coffee stout is the best I've ever had! I can't wait for a reason to come back to Modesto to come visit them again!
google avatar

Kevin K.

Yelp
Was welcomed with great service, the beers weren't too bad either. Would definitely come back again

Yelp
Nice place, clean, friendly, snack foods, but not much in variety of beers. I like pilsner and quad IPAs , my partner prefers milk stouts and barrel ages stouts. I would recommend it, I think beer drinkers would enjoy the place.

Seth I.

Yelp
Great service! Great beers!! Love it!! A must try if you're in downtown Modesto Becoming the hometown spot!
google avatar

Jessica W.

Yelp
A must-stop place to go! They have a food truck, their own craft, and some locals on draft. Lots of board games, karaoke, and big screen TVs. They are also dog friendly and my dog loved it. He got all the pets. Ours favs were the Hasta la Vista and the Eventually Red. We'll definitely be back to try the infamous wheat beer. Pretty sure they are run by a daughter and mother dynamo. Win win

Melissa M.

Yelp
The place had a huge selection of locally brewed beers on tap! They also had a couple of ciders from Tapped Apple out of Salida. There are a ton of board games and shuffle board to play while you enjoy your adult beverage. There are sodas and Capri-suns for the kids or non-alcoholic people in the world. The staff is friendly and delightful!! Bathrooms are clean and tidy. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. A true gem of a place to visit!!

Jessica P.

Yelp
I thought this placed had just opened since the inside doesn't look fully set up and there were trash cans everywhere. The ladies working the front where you order have no customer service and looked like they had somewhere else to be, which was probably the alley way we saw them cooking our pizza in. We all ordered at least two pizzas and each one took 30-40 min. It wasn't until later when we discovered they were literally cooking pizza outside their back door in a pizza over from costco. Two of our pizzas weren't finished in the hour and a half we were there and had to return later to pick them up. They were burnt to a crisp and literally could not eat them. Won't be returning anytime soon.

Yelp
The staff here was so welcoming and their food companion Casa De Cambodiano was so fire. Such a good deal!
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
I disliked the flight I had, rude customer service & bad vibes. I let the manager know a homeless guy harassed me as I was walking in. Other than that, it looked good aesthetically.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Hands down the best and most hype up and coming brewery in the central valley! Owners gave us a behind the scenes tour of the brewing process (done in house) and a tasting (OMG best beer in the valley hands down)!! This place is taking off like a rocket ship!

Kris D.

Yelp
So Worst brew company ever visited. The service /owners not friendly, never offered tasting ,bought a flight not impressed with their beer. Very cramped, tight quarters, felt like we were an annoyance vs paying customers. We had children, when we walked in got looks like oh geez they have kids with them. The vibe was so not fun and inviting. We were there to see if we wanted to have a birthday celebration, totally changed our minds, NOT. So many other local breweries that are more fun and friendly. Persuasion has changed ,but alot of fun, and even kid friendly. Never again 18seventy

Yelp
If i can go 1.5 i would. Beer pretty good, I'm also pretty buzzed so I'm not sure now. I forgot which one is their beer and which one isn't. Regardless they have a pretty good selection. But service was ass. Walked in and couldn't see where to order. Some old lady came up and said what y'all looking to drink? We took a flight then some chick behind a table was asking us what beers we wanted. We had to talk over the people at the table/counter. The whole thing just felt unprofessional to be running a business. They really need to work on service and the way they present themselves. I give this brewery 8 more months and they'll be gone. Unless they drastically step it up and hire some professionals. It's last call now, the bartender is stumbling out.

Yelp
GREAT beers, plenty of different styles. Loved the atmosphere and establishment. Employees and owner offered great service, made it a very welcoming experience. We will be visiting again.

Yelp
Amazing downtown brewery. So nice to be able to talk to the owner/brewer about her products and upcoming plans. Think the beer garden will be a great addition to downtown. They also have several different ciders on tap for those of us who don't drink beer (thank you for that!).
google avatar

Britni S.

Yelp
Such a fun, new brewery! Lots of great beers to choose from (each one we tried was delicious) and I was shocked at all of the different cider flavors!!! Amazing! Love the vibe and decor of the place and they have a good amount of outdoor seating with heaters. We will definitely be back!

Roger L.

Yelp
Fun beer choices. Love the location and the vibe. They have a good knowledge of their beers and keep trying new recipes. They have large flights.

Jason J.

Yelp
Great new brewery in Modesto. They have guest taps, but stick to the 18Seventy in-house brews. Their Bail Blonde, Rough Start (IPA), and Chulacabra (Black IPA) are all amazing. The Black IPA is my favorite. I think they are adding a Hazy IPA this weekend! Nothing but beer, but they always have a local food truck parked out front.

Nick H.

Yelp
There beers and ciders are very fresh and from small batches. I had a couple flights so I could experience more of their menu. 11 different beers and liked them all. It's nice to see a good brewery close to home.
