TLDR: There are better brunch places in the neighborhood but worth checking out once
I had brunch here recently. It wasn’t too busy when I was there. Got a nice table by the window. The ambiance was pretty dope. I loved the board games and the walls. Felt very welcoming.
The drinks & meals were a bit on the pricey side for a neighborhood dive. I ordered a hibiscus mimosa, Bloody Mary and chicken and waffles. The mimosa was boozy but I was disappointed by the lack of hibiscus flavor. The Bloody Mary was par for the course not bad but not great. Chicken and waffles were good.
The waffles were stuffed with bacon and their special syrup was amazing. I prefer my waffles a little less done than what was served but that’s just a personal thing. The chicken had a lot of potential to be good. The skin was perfectly crispy, but seasoning had room for improvement. I had a lot of skin left over. That goes for the actual breast itself. The chicken was prepared almost perfectly it was very juicy, however, w/e their brine is could use a kick of garlic or dill. It was bland breast hiding behind alright seasoning. I needed to use the house hot sauce which by the way was very good. A nice fiery low heat. Overall their menu appears worth exploring so I’ll come back to try something else in hopes for a better experience.
