1911 Smokehouse BBQ

This place was great. The atmosphere was lovely and bubbly. The place looks welcoming, unique and it’s clean and well maintained. The staff was very attentive and kind. Oh- and the food was delicious. Definitely try the brisket and the mac and cheese. Their Trenton burger is genuinely genius. Who would’ve thought putting pork roll instead of bacon could be such a success? Well they sure did. Their cornbread is an absolute highlight, it is just right. We got so much food for very affordable prices. Highly recommended going here.

Good experience, good food we had the pork roll sandwich (excellent!!) And the pulled pork sandwich, which were a good portion as well. The girls who worked there were friendly and nice, even though they were very busy. I felt welcome and I enjoyed myself here. I do recommend you come check out this joint, has a good vibe! I will come back again.

I ordered through Door Dash, and it arrived in 35 minutes. The food was warm to the taste and delicious. Meat fell off the bones, and every bite was intense with flavor. I highly recommend this establishment for food enthusiasts.. I gave the atmosphere 3 stars because I wasn't physically there and can't speak to it. However, I could not deny that any place that creates these kinds of dishes would have a poor atmosphere.

My guest and I both agreed that the pulled pork sandwich was under seasoned, and I shouldn't have to cover my sandwich in BBQ sauce for flavor. The coleslaw was tastier than the pork (I got it Smokehouse Style). The bun was nice. My fries 🍟 were standard, and the mozzarella sticks were cold 🥶. The service was nice (bartender has an awesome personality), but I had to go to the bar to initiate my order after the bartender informed my large attractive server that we were dining in. We waited 10 - 15 mins before I asked the bartender if she would take our order. We know lunch is a busy time, but I had the feeling staff (kitchen included) just walked in @ 10:15 am, and didn't have time to prepare for the day. I will definitely go back if not just to try 1 Rib and some peach 🍑 cobbler. I wanna like the food and it's so conveniently close to my job. I hope my next experience is better.

John greeted us friendly with smiles, the Aroma of good quality BBQ hits your nose as soon a s you walk in . The flavor of every sauce is exquisite. My favorite sauces are the jerk and the Razzle Dazzle but Chef DaRon, aka Chef Razzle Dazzle. I'm in love with the California Salad with the Salmon ,the dressing that comes with the Salad is unique island flavor. I added shrimp which were cooked to perfection. Also had the grilled original wings . Everything is Devine. Waiting on my cobbler

If you need a good BBQ in NJ, this would be on the top list. We ordered a 444 sampler which was worth it, but not without having the two delicious sauces; 1911 and Kansas City (Honestly I think it would be hit to sell these two in grocery stores). They also have their own bottle of 1911 sauce for sale at the restaurant. Something I think could be worked on is the peach cobler as it wasn't something noteworthy (maybe just needs honey and more crisp?)

The brisket nachos we got were awesome, they came steaming hot and piled with salsa, meat, and cheese. The ribs were also very good and well spiced. The mac & cheese and the peach cobbler were subpar.

This was my first time ordering from 1911 Smoke House BBQ, and they were absolutely amazing and met way above my expectations . The chicken was juicy,tender, and smoked to perfection with tons of flavor.. it has a great rub with a bit of spice but not anything out of control.Now for my ribs they were great as well lots of meat and cooked better than I'd imagined ,my sides Mac N cheese + candied yams were delicious. I'll be definitely ordering all the time now,Thanks to this yummy meal, I highly recommend trying anything off their menu. You won't be disappointed !

First of all the staff was superrrr friendly. They greeted us with enthusiasm and it was a full house but there is limited seating to begin with. Now, we had just left a performance at the Patriots Theatre around the corner so this place was definitely on my list to check out. To my dismay, I had a bit of an underwhelming experience, food-wise. We ordered fried lemon pepper wings to begin with but it came out at the same time as our shared entree. This was ok considering that the entree came out lukewarm. I snapped some pics for reference. The flavor or the food was bland and did not give signature taste whatsoever. I may have been hoping to be swept away by this spot and I unfortunately wasn't. The only item that tasted fresh was the corn muffin.

Outstanding BBQ. The brisket was tender, juicy, and flavorful. So were the ribs. And neither one of them came with barbecue sauce already on them. They were just naturally juicy and delicious. The prices were extremely reasonable; about half the price of what I would pay for the same thing in upstate New York that wouldn't even be anywhere near as delicious. The staff were very nice and friendly also. Definitely recommend here

I was very impressed by this visit. I ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs w that came with 2 sides. I asked for baked beans and Mac and cheese. Delicious. I was very satisfied. I don't eat bbq sauce and I must say these ribs were so flavorful without it. The meal also came with a piece of cornbread on the side. I can tell you, I'm not an 100% cornbread fan. I will admit, this one was amazing. Soft, sweet, and cakey. I enjoyed. Someone went and picked up the order for me so I can't comment on what the place looked like. I also don't know first hand how the service was but I don't think this person has any issues. I will be back to check it out. I see the scenery and to eat all food. Oh wait !!! Can't forget. I also ordered the cheese steak eggrolls that I didn't take a pic of. Delicious a bit small but so good. Thanks again.

I met one of my friends at this bar and grill. It was black-owned, so I wanted to try it. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted, and we sat at the bar. Shawnn was our bartender, and she was very nice. I started with the long island iced tea, and I wasn't a fan of the first one. I sent it back and got another one which I liked. My friend got a cocktail, which she said was very sweet. For our meals, I got the quarter chicken with mac and cheese and string beans. My friend got the pulled pork with beans and macaroni and cheese. I liked the chicken with the sauces they gave but was not a fan of the mac and cheese and the string beans. My friend said the same for her meal. The check was affordable. All in all, I had just an ok experience.

A bar with great food. Not very crowed on weekend. See lots of folks doing take out. The bar decent bottles - with some special selections. Prices are very reasonable. The food was great. You cannot go wrong here .

Food was delicious a bit of a travel, but it was worth it a bit pricey, but what isn't these days? I sure had enough for two meals for two days. Service was good small place but it was cute.

Food: 3.75 Out of 5 All of my meats (wings, brisket, rib tips, and ribs) were cooked to perfection. Unfortunately a lot of the bbq sauces tasted too similar to each other. Service: 3 out 5 Poor management of the restaurant. Only one bartender/server and one chef in the back? I don't mind waiting for my food, but we literally waited for at least 30 minutes. Environment: 5 Out 5 Cool restaurant and cool decor. Unfortunately the vibes have lost its original lack luster. Overall: 3.75 Out of 5 This place has tons of potential. The meats were cooked perfectly. I'd just work on perfecting signature bbq sauce. I'd still come by and give this place another shot.

This restaurant was by far the best experience I had in my week of staying in New Jersey. Not only was the food exceptional, but so was the service. Every item we ordered was delicious. The brisket was a little fatty, but still extremely flavorful. The ribs had the perfect crust on them and the wings were big with a generous seasoning of garlic parm on them. My guest really enjoyed her sandwich and the candied yams. She also ordered mad and cheese which was very tasty! We were given 3 different bottles of their BBQ sauce and they were all very good, my favorite was the Kansas City. The service was so great. Our waitress was very nice and kept checking on us. Additionally, someone who I think was the owner came over and greeted us, as well as clearing away some of our plates on his way out. Even upon walking in, many customers who looked like regulars greeted us, and one held the door for us on the way out. As we were about to leave, our waitress told us that every night the entire bar takes a shot at 1911, and poured us both a shot of complimentary Bacardi. Everyone in the restaurant cheersed and drank the shot, it was so nice! Prices were also very reasonable for the quality and amount of food. Such a great experience here, would love to come back.

Very unimpressed with this place, we spent $150 on drinks and food- we had multiple items so we had a wide range of food. From wings to Mac and cheese to brisket. The brisket was not seasoned and seemed like it was just put in an oven and not a smoker. The wings were not coated with sauce and there was no side sauce. The ribs were under cooked and had no sauce at all. The kids pizza was a thin crust with bbq sauce and cheddar cheese... who puts bbq sauce and cheddar cheese on a kids pizza?? Overall, a very unpleasant experience- whoever is running the smoker and sauces needs to go.

The food here was really good. It's a hole in the wall vibe and intimate. I do wish the outside where we were seated was heated. It was pretty cold even though it was in a contained space like a greenhouse. But the drinks were good and the food had flavor. The sweet potato tots were my fave. I'd come here again for sure but eat inside.

Tucked away from the busy state buildings this cozy bbq joint was unbelievable. The variety of bbq and choice of sauces was all spot on. I've had bbq from the heart of Texas to Kansas City and this place is ranks up there with the best.

I'm checking in again! This is my third time this week. Shaun was the server tonight so much personality and Hospitality. I really enjoyed the atmosphere tonight it felt like family. This will definitely not be my last time.

The space is kind of tight inside but does offer outdoor seating as well. Fast and VERY friendly service. There were about 10 in my party and they got us in and out. The portions are sizable and Tate really good. You will have leftovers. Price point is good.

I struggled with 2 or 3 stars and defaulted to two because their focus is supposed to be BBQ which was below ave. Came in on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't that busy. We sat at the bar. Inside is small but it's cute and modern. Bartender greeted us promptly. My husband and I ordered two cocktails. The bartender forgot to make my husbands cocktail and walked off. Was a little confused as there were only 4 guests in there including us. I waived him down and reminded him and he forgot. No big deal. When bartenders make cocktails they have to use this contraction that measures out the liquor per ounce. For me personally it is one of the biggest turn offs but I don't hold it against the bartender. That has to be an owner thing. I get it's an accurate way of measuring but it just turns me off to no end. Anyway if the food was great I could look past it. But it wasn't. I have seen reviews on this place and tik toks and was so excited to try. Maybe they had an off day not sure. So we got the 444 sampler. We chose 4 honey I'm hot wings, 4 ribs and pulled pork. We also ordered Mac and cheese and potato salad. The wings were good really crispy - honey I'm hot sauce was kind of bland. The ribs were tough and kind of dry. They do have some homemade bbq sauces. All of which were similar in taste but I liked the KC one which is surprising bc I'm not too big on KC bbq in general. Pulled pork was moist and good but kind of average good. Mac and cheese was beyond dry. The potato salad was kind of one note and bland. Service was good. Gratuity was added to the check for a two top at the bar. This was weird to me. Had no issues with that but wasn't expecting it and it almost caused me to tip 40% which I caught last minute so I just brought the 15% automatically added and tipped and additional 5%. The verdict would I come back probably not. They do have some vegan options if you are into that and I thought that was cool.

Came upon this place from Yelp reviews, so glad I did!! Avocado bites were awesome as well as the wings. Had pulled pork and brisket sandwiches with collard greens . The only thing was the apps came out at the same time as the sandwich. My kids were raving about the Mac and cheese. If in the area again will definitely eat here again.

At the airport: Service is HORRIBLE. Wait staff needs to be trained in efficiency AND courtesy. Plenty of wait staff just walking around. Went to bar to at least get drinks and was told to back to table as there was service there. Totally ridiculous

This is the ultimate small restaurant where the owners and staff take fantastic pride in high quality BBQ and service with a smile (or the perfect level of crankiness when you realize you've asked the bartender a spectacularly dumb question). Really tasty bbq with an insane amount of sauce varieties...and who knew you could deep fry avocado. Def. worth the trip and say hi to Eve when you get there. Charm city ain't just in Baltimore.

Called in a last minute to go order 15mins before they closed at 8pm during covid-19 8pm closing hours. They were nice enough to still take our orders. My turkey burger with everything on it was amazing and filled with flavor. I asked for you extra pickles on it they said they only had fried pickles(which I've never had), i said okay I'll take them anyway. My life is officially changed forever, i never knew what i was missing out on . The burger came with a side as well, since it's a soul food spot i got collard greens which were good as well. Can't wait to go back and get an actual soul food meal, I've heard many good things about this place.

Came here with some co-workers after work. This place is suitable to get a round of drinks after work or to have dinner, I wouldn't come here for lunch in the middle of a work day though because of how long it takes the food to come out. We got a ribs platter, a pulled pork sandwich, and a half charred chicken. My work companion indicated the half charred chicken was "charred to perfection." We were presented with three different BBQ sauce options. I tried all three on my ribs. Each one was unique and all were delicious. Pulled pork sandwich was made by the sauce. Came with a side of mac and cheese which was also good. Ribs platter came with sides, baked beans, candied yams and cornbread. Baked beans were plentiful and tasty. Yams were sliced and cooked with cinnamon, probably brown sugar and butter. Cornbread was like a cornbread cupcake, sweet and moist. Ribs were not falling off the bone but were tasty with the sauce. Atmosphere was nice. It's not a big space but there weren't too many other people there, a couple of guys at the bar and another group of two or three in the dining area. They just changed their draft beer selection and haven't updated their lists yet, but the still had some craft selections. Mixed drinks seemed a bit pricey, $7 for a whiskey and pineapple juice. Overall it was a good time.

Great little place for good BBQ if you happen to be in Trenton, have been here several times and I live nowhere near. can't go wrong

I've been here before for their pulled pork sandwich, which was great. This past week, I went with a group for lunch and had disappointing experience. The service was extremely slow as they seem under staffed like many other places. It took almost an hour to get drinks or food. I tried the brisket for the first time, which was a huge mistake. It looked nothing like the brisket in other reviews. It was very thin slices like a roast beef sandwich and was dry / rubbery. The sides and cornbread however were delicious. But never again with that "brisket" ... or perhaps just never again!

Found this hole in the wall via Yelp and am so glad that I did! I hesitated going in as I was unsure if they were open on Monday at noon. Saw a UPS guy emerge so I went in and talked to the staff. They recommended their version of the chicken sandwich in the chicken sandwich wars and it was outstanding! I've had them all, Popeyes, Chic-fil-A, McDonald's, and even Colbie's Southern Kissed in Mount Holly. This version is the clear winner! It's slightly above Colbie's and way in front of any fast food option. I wish I had taken a photo before I bit in. Side note, I got the candied yams and they were outstanding as well! Very friendly staff despite being short staffed. I will be back!!!

Very surprise the place looks like a hole in the wall but the food is very good. The atmosphere is very laid-back prices. Aren't that bad the shot that they give at 9:11 is very strong. Be careful but all around good time.

This place is small, but it's the best BBQ around Trenton. The staff is friendly and the bar has a great selection of beer and alcohol. The Mac and Cheese with Collared Greens are perfect sides for the Brisket platter. The Ribs are moist and well cooked. They have lots of sauces with their custom blend being a good mix of sweet and tartness. Highly suggest ordering take out as everything is cooked with care. Would definitely come again.

This place is very underrated for what they have to offer. You definitely have to know to go. I did enjoy my meal at 1911 Smoke House Barbecue & I was so full that I had to leave with a box. But, as a person who only eats poultry and fish I was really disappointed that they were out of turkey legs. Despite that, I had a decent meal. I feel as though this place has a lot of potential with their space. As I was leaving I saw a chef carry a bag of frozen fries and chicken back to the kitchen which is why I give this Barbecue restaurant a solid three.

No no no!! I don't know how this place has 4 stars! Had lunch here with coworkers. I asked for a Diet Coke. It was flat. We ordered beef nachos that was nothing but a bunch of chips with a tiny bit of cheese, sour cream, salsa and some dry beef. No flavor at all. Three of us got the 444 sampler; 4 ribs, 4 chicken wings and either pulled pork or brisket. I got the the pulled pork along with the ribs and chicken. The one rib was an end piece and the meat was so tough, I couldn't chew it. The chicken was okay (honey Harlem shake sauce) and the pulled pork had absolutely no flavor! Thank God for the Kansas City bbq sauce! It saved the pulled pork. My coworker let me try the coleslaw and it was so spicy, it was barely edible! Why do you have spicy coleslaw?!! Didn't make sense. Other coworker had chicken tenders that she described as salty and dry. All in all, a very disappointing experience. Won't be back.

Placed a pick up order last week. We got the bit of everything mix, wings and nachos. Ribs were ok, chicken was dry, everything else was good. The issue we had was the tip. We gave 5 bucks as tip for our pickup order on our credit card receipt and then a few days after showing as processing, the tip amount was changed to 15 dollars. Your employee wrote in an extra one- forging the receipt. Disputed the charge and got the wrong extra amount back but now I regret tipping at all. Can't recommend this place or come back as this is a really trashy thing to do and would never feel comfortable giving y'all my card info. Very disappointed

Mac and cheese was amazing! Roasted chicken was good. Ribs were tough and fatty. Corn bread was tasty.

Insanely good BBQ! The great...The Ribs, chicken, baked beans and the prices. The very good...brisket, cornbread, mac & cheese, sauces. The good (but different)...coleslaw. The bad...blown speakers outside and the lantern flies (not their fault) I recommend this place to anyone that is hankering BBQ, bring a bunch of friends and get the little bit of everything for $45.00, it would take 6 adults to finish it. Seriously this place was awesome 5 star food, 3.5 star service and 1.5 star ambiance (outdoor seating)

Salmon is tasty but very salty. The Mac and cheese was cold and dry and as you can see pictured. It doesn't look too appetizing. It looks as if I got a Lot of the bottom of the pan. Wouldn't go back.

It's been a while since I've been to the Smokehouse BBQ. In fact my last visit was at least three years ago. I returned this past Wednesday, May 18th to meet with friends and former work colleagues and was not disappointed. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it was awesome. The sauces provided compliment the main entree perfectly. I also ordered my two favorite sides, Mac & Cheese and baked beans both of which did not disappoint. While our server was very friendly, our meal took surprisingly long to arrive. This issue was the only thing that prevented me from giving the smokehouse a five star rating.

The atmosphere is pretty cool. Outdoor tables and seats are extremely limited, but you can bring your own chairs and hang out and listen to music. I ordered the 444 platter to go. The wings were okay, but the ribs were extremely hard and I am positive that the brisket was frozen and simply microwaved. Most of my meal went in the garbage, unfortunately.

The wings are Harlem shake flavor. The website says sauce but I guess it's just Harlem shake unless I said it wrong. I got both fried and grilled. I prefer the fried. The grilled definitely has the grill flavor to it. I think some sauce on the fried wings would be beautiful. The ribs are good, you have to put the bbq sauce on it. The bbq sauce is decent. I'm usually not a fan of most restaurants man and cheese but theirs is good. The potato salad is exactly how it's supposed to be made. The corn muffin 10/10. So now this cookie they have. When I got it the cookie was warm the chocolate chips melting. It's dense and filling. Even at room temperature it's still flawless. I say I wouldn't dance for food but for a cookie I might.
