We ate here twice on our recent visit to Taos (Feb 2025). The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional! The Sunshine Daydream Pizza, the burger, and the Hummus were all excellent. Will definitely go back!

Google
Great experience, the pizza was delicious and a concept I have yet to try. Lemon with chilli pepper paste among other toppings. Definitely would recommend the ambiance for a nice night out. Views are great staff was accommodating and the drinks were delicious

Google
This hotel restaurant is attempting to find its identity and is a hot & cold with its overall performance. We ate there two times during our last trip to Taos Ski Valley. The first time, we had a good experience with good service and food. The rosemary fries and margarita pizza are good. The second time, we were treated like an annoyance because we asked for the kids pasta that is on the menu. I guess the chef did not want to make pasta that day for kiddos. It is one of the nicer and certainly the most expensive restaurant on the mountain.

Google
If you’re looking for tasty pizza served with an attitude, look no further. The pizza was good. We walked in, stood there for 5-10 minutes being ignored by the staff before I asked one of the waiters if I could place a to-go order. He told me “We are too busy to take to-go orders.” So instead, we had to go grab the rest of our party and bring them to dine in. Keep in mind, they had open tables, and nobody waiting to be seated. Given how limited food options are at this place, I might come back if I were to return to TAOS. But I’d rather not.

Google
One of the best food options at the Taos Ski Valley base. We had great service and delicious food. The place had the perfect ski-lodge feel, without seeming contrived. Overall, a great experience. Would very happy to dine here again.

Google
Just about every menu item we tried was honestly bad food. The salmon was this weird undercooked salmon in a bread coating? Pizza was undercooked as well. Kids pizzas were overcooked. Fried chicken was just not flavorful. Atmosphere is nice but the food was extremely bad.

Google
We stopped by on Thursday around 2pm. They were closed for food (check hours b/c strange 2-3 hours they are closed mid afternoon) but we were invited in for drinks at the bar. Joey was an amazing bartender, welcoming us into the restaurant, making amazing drinks and chatting at the bar. The overall ambience was cozy, just sad we weren't able to eat there.

Google
Can’t speak for other bad reviews at dinner time— but lunch was excellent. Beet and cambazola salad was fantastic, and the pizza was crisp, flavorful and delicious

Yelp
We live close to 192 and wanted to try the brunch options. We are so delighted we did. We had the French toast, eggs bene and a hamburger. Wow!!! Everything was delicious. Our server was super nice and friendly. Everyone was wonderful. We love 192 and we will return soon.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambiance were good. I got the pork chop and it was decent. It was cooked perfectly and the sauce was made of a green chile/apple sauce mix. It was interesting but something I personally wouldn't order again...especially considering the price. The service was very good. Always being checked up on. And the vibe of the restaurant was relaxed. I'll probably come here again but will definitely try something other than the pork chop.

Cj F.

Yelp
Food was not very good and for what it was overpriced. Also they ran out of side dishes and cabbage was the only item which was not done well.

Robin M.

Yelp
Ate supper at the bar. Attentive service. Delicious tomato soup--wished for a larger serving. Good Caesar salad and delicious Italian dessert. The dining room and the whole hotel are lovely.

Mike S.

Yelp
Food has been upgraded from years past! Good pizzas, I had the special: fried chicken plate, it was phenomenal! (Told Toni to keep it on the menu!) Great atmosphere, Nice fireplace!

Yelp
192 at The Blake is one of the "nicest" restos in Taos Ski Valley. It doesn't offer the best food in this small town - they do feature the priciest - but it's very convenient, cozy, and has a good "scene." I think we dropped in at least four times during out stay at The Blake Hotel. We had everything from their minestrone soup, caesar salad... food orders stopped there because nothing really wowed us, and the prices didn't fit the flavor. (Though, pizzas seem to be their bread and buttah... and room service for Blake Hotel patrons). They do have the best wine offerings in the area. We tasted just about everything on tap and by the glass, along with beers (shout out to Fat TIre) and endless espresso martinis. Note: They don't really have anything to make a michelada. :( But... another shout out to the staff. The front and back of the house work really hard to cater to a diverse crowd of families and rude bougie folk. Keep up the hard work, Blake 192 staff!

Michael R.

Yelp
Very disappointing! The place was practically empty and they offered like five entrees, one of which they did not have. My meal was served barely warm, my friend's fried chicken was way overcooked and dry. It's a shame they can't manage a limited menu when they are not busy.

S J.

Yelp
Great food and service both times we went during our week at Taos. We had caesar and baby gem salads that they split into two plates for us. Sunshine daydream pizza is deliciously unique tasting pizza. Beef tenderloin was perfectly prepared. Lumache was tasty but unfortunately not hot enough. Maybe the burrata cooled it down. The first time we were seated by the fireplace which was great but the second time we were seated in the middle of the section of families with small children. It was louder and difficult to talk.

Yelp
Location - 10 Service - 7 Ambiance - 10 Food - 1 First off, the Blake is really an amazing place. Beautifully designed and exactly what you'd expect for an upscale mountain lodge / restaurant. The dining room had a very large fireplace with a roaring fire going the whole time and an open layout kitchen. The waiters and waitresses were incredibly nice and professional although not very attentive. It took nearly 15 minutes to get drinks and nearly an hour to get our dinner. It was funny because the gentleman who sat us came over after 45min-1hr and said, "So how did you like everything?" When I told him we hadn't received our food yet, his eyes got really big and he ran to the kitchen. Our food came out immediately after that. Lol. The reason for the two star review is the food. The food was ABSOLUTELY THE WORST. I cannot even emphasize how bad it was. We ordered the kids pasta, kids pizza, the salmon, pepperoni hot honey pizza and a Caesar salad. The pizza was level 10 salty. My face puckered up uncontrollably and I gagged so hard. Was someone playing a joke? It's like someone spilled a container of salt in the sauces or something. My son's cheese pizza was the same. He went to take a bite and spit it out on the plate. He's only 8 years old and loves pizza and his eyes watered after tasting it. He's never not eaten a cheese pizza before. You know it's bad when a boy won't eat his pizza. My daughter thought the pasta was gross and my wife's salmon was subpar. Don't get me started on the Caesar salad. It was incredibly bland with no flavor. It did, however, have two cute anchovies on the top of the salad. Overall, it felt like the chefs either didn't care or were woefully underqualified to be cooking for an establishment like this. We were so disappointed in the food because everything else was so spectacular. At the end of the day, the manager made it right by taking the pizzas off and offering to make us something else but we declined. It really didn't matter. For one beer, one glass of wine, two kids sprites, kids pasta, salmon and a Caesar salad, our bill was $143.00 with tip. That's ridiculous. Welcome to Taos Ski Valley.

Yelp
We were in the area for a vacation for a week and we found this restaurant on one of our last days in the area. When we reserved it we were not familiar with the area. This restaurant is located inside of the resort the Blake. It feels very fancy. Had I known that I would have dressed up but I did not do enough research before we went. I was looking for a good meal nearby that was open. When you drive up you see an area where you can valet your car. We had parked down below and walked over the bridge and walk up to the resort. Having never been here we walked in and looked around and thank goodness there was a man at the desk to tell us to ride the elevator up to the restaurant. Upon arriving we let them know we had a reservation and we were sat in the middle of the dining room near a window. The view is awesome anywhere in the room. We ordered a hummingbird and a gold rush. The gold rush was amazing. The hummingbird was terrible. It tasted like soda water and nothing else. The manager brought me a pink drink that was amazingly better! We ordered filet mignon ($48) that came with wilted spinach and mashed potatoes and the rainbow trout which they were out of. So I opted for the grilled chicken with wilted spinach and sweet potatoes with cooked garlic on the side. It was amazingly good. We took the dessert of the day home which was chocolate cake. Service was great. Our waiter was Aaron and the female manager was amazing and accomodating. This was our best meal by far on our vacation. Getting out was tricky. Our elevator took us to a floor with locked hallway doors but we made it out. I would 100% go again.

Yelp
Scallop Crudo is out of this world!!!! The spicy orange sauce is a divine surprise and her as well with the citrus accents.

Rob S.

Yelp
Did Apres Ski and then the next day had breakfast so this covers both. The bar area was great for an after dinner, drink and sharing a pizza. Return the next morning for breakfast, and the set up is very nice and cozy. The coffee you can see through so I would suggest doubling the grounds. It was really awful. Also, they said they switched to a new hash brown recipe recently and they were smaller than a pinky finger nail so impossible to eat with a fork.

Pamela L.

Yelp
The food was good, service was okay. Appetizers were missing before the main course was served. We were a table of 3 couples. Decided to split the check equally between the couples. When the waitress came to take the bill, she said she did not have time to run 3 cards. One couple ended up paying the bill, with friends reimbursing them. Not a customer friendly environment. After dinner I checked with the manager, it is the restaurant's policy only 1 credit card per table. For someone who grew up in a tourist town and worked as a waitress - his response was unacceptable.

Scott K.

Yelp
Food was great, amazing salad with added chicken, steak tartare and eggs Benny. Each dish had that little extra care and creativity that you know the chef gives a hoot. Prices very reasonable given the location & quality. Will definitely be back

Corinna A.

Yelp
I had higher hopes for this place. I ordered the short rib which comes with rosemary potatoes. The meat was cooked perfectly, but bland and MAYBE 4oz of meat. The rosemary potatoes were really just steak fries and did not come with a vegetable. For the price the value was definitely disappointing. The drink was okay; the gelato was nothing to write home about. It was listed on the menu as 4$ and when I was charged 10 I mentioned to my waitress who told management and they removed the cost. The reason this is 3 stars instead of two is for customer service so thank you to management and the wait staff. As someone that has worked in food service at a ski resort I understand prices and difficulty in finding staff in the off season so I would try again and hopefully the quality is better next time.

Yelp
This was an absolute delight! We came up here for a big event, and everything was last minute. Mona, took our request and made it happen! The food, the treats, the atmosphere everything was absolutely spot on! We had a great time commiserating with each other, as well as having our presentation for the event. They had everything for us! Everything worked, everything was fluid, everything was absolutely spot on! I cannot recommend this place enough!

Chez A.

Yelp
Great food, service is just a bit slow, took 20 minutes to get a Diet Coke, but the pork belly is amazing with the hot honey, totally recommend!

Barb T.

Yelp
We reserved the private room at 192 to celebrate our Dad's life. Big AL Lomax, not the man Al's run was named after, was a part of TSV from the early 1960s. Taos Ski Valley was the best place to honor him, and 192 allowed us to do just that! WOW!!!! What a perfect celebration it was!!! The experience was flawless, from communicating with Lauryn at 192 until the end of our festive celebration. Danni, Carrie, her hardworking crew, and even our babysitter, Itzel, were professional and outstanding!!! Oh, and the food, a variety that met the needs of vegans and celiac members of our party, also tasted AMAZING!!!! Ten Stars from the Lomax progeny!!!

Zack R.

Yelp
We had the grilled chicken and a hamburger. Neither was cooked optimally. Service was good but not exceptional. The delivery of the entrees to the table took ~45 minutes for a restaurant with 4 other tables occupied. The bread appetizer was good. Disappointed overall.

Cat C.

Yelp
Food is super salty. The composition and menu ideas were good. Everything was just dosed in salt, which made it hard to eat. They did a good job of marking gluten free options and modifications.

Anne R.

Yelp
The restaurant is gorgeous as is the hotel. Service generally very good. Food awful. I got the mushroom pizza. It tasted as if nothing from the bread to cheese to topping had any seasonings. Marginally better when I added salt but the crust had no seasoning. They replaced it with the sausage. Did not charge me for two pizzas just one. I gave them the feedback with the first that it was under seasoned. The second was just as bad. No salt. No Parmesan. No pepper. The waiter I had initially never checked back to see if I liked the second pizza. At that point I just wanted to leave and had to ask two servers for my bill. Very disappointing

David L.

Yelp
Excellent service from hostess to server. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. I had the filet that was perfectly prepared, but only came with two broccoli and about 4 oz of mashed potatoes. I prefer a filet to be a meal, not a small plate for over $50. My +1 had the chicken parmigiana, it was over salted and very thick, over cooked, difficult to cut. We had the meatballs as a starter, which was the best food item we ordered. Wine list contains a small selection and is not of caliber I expected. I will say the ambiance is quite nice in this restaurant, particularly if you are near the fireplace. If staying or arriving from outside Taos Ski Valley, the restaurant entrance is difficult to find and parking is quite a walk, no valet. In my view, the restaurant survives off the convenience of nearby lodging and not recommended to outsiders.

David M.

Yelp
Might be the best Burger I have ever eaten? This restaurant is upstairs in the new Blake Hotel in the center of Taos Ski Valley resort. Being a ski resort the prices are reflected accordingly. This was a $22 burger and worth it. The patty was hand-made and at least 1" thick and cooked to perfection with just a hint of smoky flavor. The lettuce and tomato were on bottom and allowed the juices to drain without wrecking the bun. It may have been the perfect hamburger.

Rose L.

Yelp
We had finished skiing and wanted a small plate type of snack and wine, so we went to 192 at the Blake as we had been at TSV all week and have been bar hopping around to try different places. So we visited before the dinner hour so they have small menu. So we ordered pizza, charcuterie and wine. The pizza was great reminded us of brick oven and it was tasty. The charcuterie board for $26 was something else, nice cheese, but didn't pair with anything on the board. the meat was skimpy and the rest of it was just garbage. No crackers.it had sliced nuts from morning parfait and Pearl onions which made the board stink. Who doesn't have crackers or a fruit spread. And The wine was way over priced. Save your money and visit someplace else for a quick bite to eat.

Andrew H.

Yelp
This cozy spot is more chill and modern than the other restaurants nearby. It will also cost you the most. Pioneer Mule, Butternut Green Chile Soup, Crispy Duck Wings, Tomahawk Boar Rib Chop and Creme Brûlée were all excellent choices. I expected the soup and polenta to have more green chile, and 1 giant chop, instead of 2 small ones, but it was all delicious. Loved the cilantro on the wings.

Paige G.

Yelp
Food review only! Given the times and staffing issues I will not complain about the staff. We got the filet and trout both of which were extremely dry. The trout was heavily charred, which can be good, but this time is was just very dry. The filet was served on green beans and mushrooms in place of the spinach and potatoes. The green beans seemed to be canned and the mushrooms, again, dry. When asking for a sauce, the staff seemed offended. They could offer soy sauce or the sauce that came with the steak. (I guess there was a sauce?) Either way, for $50 steak, $40 trout the portions were small, it was overpriced, and the food was dry. 2 stars for the drinks and Friday night bartender, unfortunately, overall I do not recommend.

Joe A.

Yelp
We came for the happy hour that was supposed to be from 3 PM to 4 PM. We are with the ski club and on our itinerary it mentioned a happy hour from 3 PM to 4 PM. When we went to the front desk at the bar they said the bar was open. We asked about the happy hour from 3 to 4 and they repeated the bar was open. As a result I would not recommend this place because they were not very customer friendly and did not answer our questions initially.

Michael R.

Yelp
It was off-season and we were the only couple in the restaurant but it was a delicious meal. Started with the fried artichoke heart appetizer which was amazing. My filet mignonette was cooked perfectly. Great experience overall.

Svelte S.

Yelp
Sam is the best bartender in Taos! Don't forget to get the big cookie - in a small cast iron pan with a scoop of ice cream! Also love their chardonnay selection.

Patricia D.

Yelp
The atmosphere, service and food are good. The restaurant hostess was awesome and the server was friendly and accommodating. We enjoy our dinner.

David C.

Yelp
Booked for Thanksgiving day dinner. $65/person. The quality of the food was good, but got the orders wrong and had slow service. You would expect bread to be served in a high end restaurant but was not prepared, even though bread plates were on the table. Prime rib only option was well done (due to a miscommunication in the kitchen) and no tea. Felt bad for the server but maybe a new hire. The turkey dinner was good but the prime rib was cold. Seemed like one thing after another. Decided to take out desert since we were full. Felt bad tipping the server only 12% but then got home and the desert was wrong. Not a good value for the service and cold thanksgiving dinner.

Susan C.

Yelp
Great food and wine. Friendly folks for our family of 9 (5 kids) and very patient. Good ambiance and great upscale lodge feel without stuffy dressy feel. The burger was perfect. Pizza and Alfredo also winners. Will definitely be going back.

Mary D.

Yelp
We loved our dinner here. It was jam packed when we first arrived. We didn't mind waiting. The lovely and friendly hostess sat us at our table. Table was a little bit wobbly but quickly fixed. Our server Kenny greeted us and told us he will be with us shortly. Kenny took our order and had wonderful recommendations. For appetizer, the pork belly poutine was delicious and it went well with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles. For entrees, we devoured the tomahawk with apricot and trout with mushrooms. Heitsz Cabernet Sauvignon went nice and smooth with our dinner. For dessert, grand Marnier and tawny port are highly recommended for liquid dessert. This restaurant have excellent service, fairly priced and comfortable ambiance.

Mikella N.

Yelp
We had a great experience at 192. There were 4 of us. We made a reservation on Open Table which was nice. We had Sarkis taking great care of us. We all had salads to start which were amazing. The Ceasar had an anchovy right on top, which my son loved. Sarkis brought him more! The chopped salad was also surprisingly spicy and delicious. We had the duck, the chicken parm, the Alfredo and a pizza. All great and good size portions! Would definitely visit again. Good wine and drink list. Nice atmosphere but not fussy.

Denis F.

Yelp
Worst restaurant experience. You won't belive my meal experience. They were out salmon. I got a salad and bread with roasted garlic. The salad was like eating our lawn. The roasted garlic was hard. So then I decided to have carrot cake and they were out! Unbelievable !!!! Stay away from this place.

Zoe G.

Yelp
The service was awesome! We were here early in the season so we ate here almost every night. My favorite was the salmon. The shishito peppers were good too. I try and eat vegetarian or pescatarian but the crispy rice wasn't my fave. Great atmosphere, good food, and excellent people.

Daniel H.

Yelp
After reading reviews we were hesitant, but due to being snowed in it was one of our only options. I wanted to like it, but for the most part it was terrible. We walked in and were not greeted, we had to find the hostess, who seemed uninterested in us. The server did not greet us, check on us, or ask how the food was. The simple salad was just that, lettuce only with a spritz of oil and vinegar. The salmon and chicken were not great, but ok. The potatoes were nothing but salt and totally inedible. Save yourself $50, drive down to one of the restaurants in Arroyo Seco, and enjoy a much better experience.

Clarissa K.

Yelp
We spend a lot of time in Taos Ski Valley, and we have watched the quality of food and service at 192 really decline over the years. Our server was nice but completely disinterested. She dropped off a charcuterie board and started walking away before we had a chance to ask what was on the board. Our drinks were meh, and my minestrone soup was like eating a can of tomatoes - so bland. our server never asked if we wanted anything to drink with our meal, our waters were never refilled, and the ricotta cheesecake had clearly been sitting in a refrigerator for a long time. At these price points and in such a lovely location, the food and service are consistently disappointing.

PeggyLea B.

Yelp
What a treasure within the gem of The Blake! Breakfast selection was second only to the friendly service provided by the wonderful waiter during our stay; additionally, the dinner selection was second only to the service provided by our waitress and whom appeared to be the manager. Food was delicious and service exceptional... what delightful dining experiences we had during our weekend stay! The restaurant environment was welcoming and friendly with a coziness which Taos is known for. Again, it's the hidden treasure within the Crown Jewel of The Blake!

JoAnne D.

Yelp
Ate dinner there last night. We had made reservations over a month ago and the hostess put us in a corner table at the back of the restaurant. We asked for another table as the restaurant was empty... she said they were all reserved but would move us one table. Ordered the crispy rice... it was like a box of Uncle Bens wild rice... couldn't find the squash or kale and had about 4 mushrooms. Also had the duck pasta. Not sure there was duck in the meat sauce... tasted just like an Italian sausage. The waitress was very pleasant. Would not recommend this over-priced restaurant.

Alex J.

Yelp
Ate hear both nights on a recent trip and enjoyed it almost as much as the skiing :) Service was incredibly friendly and timely, and each recommendation made was terrific. I had the small salad and boar stew the first night; the latter was rich, hearty, and really flavorful. A little more bread with it might have been nice, but that's nit-picking. The second night I had the antelope, which was perfectly rare, and with a delicious spicy, espresso crust that was really the feature of the dish. The wine selection, though on the smaller side, was quite good, and for what it's worth I thought the Taos Lightning Rye was fantastic.

Ky S.

Yelp
The mega chocolate chip cookie was a good way to end the ski day with my girls. Below is the before and after picture.

Jeffrey B.

Yelp
Just not the same, the menu does not match the website, the service is slow and the food was cold. Maybe look elsewhere. Disappointing for an old skiing favorite.

Josh E.

Yelp
Woefully unprepared staff to accommodate a full dining room- plates sat under the heat lamps for 10-15 minutes (we were seated right next to them). It took over an hour to get our full order in and this was with a limited menu (that we were not informed of when making our reservation, which we were sat 30 min after). The limited menu only had apps, pizza, two burgers, and one desert. I would like to think their other menu items are good so perhaps we could try again. The pizza was one of the worst I've eveer had and tasted like a child's pizza party. If you're only going to serve bar food, at least have ranch dressing available.

Kim R.

Yelp
We were absolutely looking forward to our reservation at 192, only to be disappointed. For the money we paid I expected and have had much more memorable and amazing meals. Our reservation was early, and the restaurant was fairly empty. Service was slow. Drinks were ok but overpriced. Our daughters burger was over cooked. Seriously for a $24 burger it better be cooked to perfection. My wife's salmon was served cold, and our sons pasta bowl was small to say the least. I think the most disappointing thing is the village has very limited food choices for diner so when you do make a reservation at a "nice" restaurant you expect good food. I will absolutely pay a @&$! ton of money for good food but this left us very disappointed. Should have listened to the other reviews, saved our money and gone to Hondo.

Seno C.

Yelp
A convenient great place on the2nd floor of The Blake hotel. Nice, clean , opened area. Delicious food with hreat wine selections. The host is friendly and very helpful.

Wallace W.

Yelp
We had some tasty cocktails and very friendly service at the 192 at the Blake bar. It has a nice view of the Taos ski resort base and even in the off season, quality food and drinks. And if you have time, check out the great art on the walls in the Blake hotel's lobby downstairs.

Lee M.

Yelp
By far the top place to dine at TSV. They now have vegan cheese for the incredible pizzas and two vegan appetizers, the brussels sprouts and mushroom tamale. And get this - nothing needs to be removed or altered! The wine list is high end but value priced glasses exist. This is the place - accept no substitutes.

Wendy N.

Yelp
The 192 is a special place. Chef Patrick is always friendly and is happy to give a history lesson. The wine selection is exquisite and so is the full bar service. It's a wonderful place for singles, couples, and those, like myself, family . It is a reflective environment. Our favorite meal- Brussels, beat salad, lamb chops and margarita pizza for 4+ Great modern rustic place- and most importantly, clean.
