Came for a concert and the atmosphere was outstanding. Didn’t know Vegas has a speak easy. Live piano. A place you can get up and dance. Dim lights and romantic.

Google
Typical Vegas generic mentalist show. Drinks were awful and overpriced. Old fashioned had pineapple despite not being listed. Fun allergy moment there. The staff were phenomenal and extremely helpful even though I’m in a powerchair, but performer seemed like he did his best to avoid me. He kept looking at me, almost picking me, and picking someone else like he was afraid of picking a disabled person. It was odd. I thought I was projecting but others commented on it as we were leaving. This was my daughter’s choice for 21st and she enjoyed it and got picked many times. If she hadn’t been enjoying it I’d have been fine leaving early.

The 1923 Prohibition Bar is a hidden gem located in the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. It's a speakeasy-style bar that pays homage to the Prohibition era. The bar is located on the second floor, and it's easy to miss if you don't know where to look. But once you find it, you'll be transported back in time to the roaring twenties. The bar is decorated with period-appropriate furniture and decor, and the atmosphere is intimate and cozy. The cocktail menu is extensive, and the bartenders are skilled at creating delicious and unique drinks. Some of the most popular cocktails include the Barrel ages, Fat Elvis, or Campfire Smore Old Fashioned and the Killer Bees Knees. The bar also serves a variety of snacks, including the popular torched maple bacon. If you're looking for a unique and fun bar experience in Las Vegas, the 1923 Prohibition Bar is a great option. It's a perfect place to enjoy a delicious cocktail and relax in a historic atmosphere.

Google
1923 Prohibition bar is a hidden gem (kind of hidden in the second floor by elevator) Tucked away like a true speakeasy, it has an effortlessly cool vibe from the moment you walk in. The ambiance is warm, stylish, and just the right amount of mysterious—perfect for a night out with friends or a more intimate evening. The service was excellent—attentive without being intrusive—and the staff really added to the experience. And the drinks? Absolutely fantastic. Creative, well-balanced, and crafted with real care. If you’re looking for a memorable spot with character, great cocktails, and top-notch service, 1923 is it.

We attended a private event here. What a cool venue. Good food and good drinks. Really neat atmosphere. You definitely feel like you are in a secret prohibition bar.

This is something else. I only recommend this if you can endure darkness. From outside you can never know what’s inside. Their cocktails, seating and ambient have the hints of 70s. I did not see a food menu .

Google
Cool bar, interesting and creative drinks, great service! The ladies really took care of us. Awesome atmosphere! Update: we liked 1923 enough to go back later that evening. We caught the burlesque show and loved it. I wish I knew her name, but the waitress that sang for the show had amazing talent! Quite the set of pipes.

Google
It's such a cool place, from the vibe to the service and cocktails. Highly recommend. Bravo to the mixology team. You nailed it 👏

Yelp
Went to see Ghost Stories at the 1923 Bar. Such an awesome show. Kent the spirit medium is phenomenal. He will blow your mind. You've got to go see it to belive it!

Yelp
The entrance is so fun. It looks like a bar but you're not sure until you push it open or see someone push it open! This place is very fun! It has a great vibe and the service is great! I really enjoyed relaxing in the back and watching the Charlie Chaplin movie clips. It really adds to the overall feel of the bar. I wish they would show full movies. It seemed like the show was on a reel. My fiancé had the chocolate martini and it was fantastic, I tasted it! The chocolate didn't overpower the drink but neither did the alcohol. It was extremely well balanced- kudos to the bartender!! They don't have much for food. If you are hungry you can choose from 3 things on page 7 of their menu. There is a fireplace in the pictures- heads up it's not real it's just a tv. So if you're cold and looking to warm up, this photo fireplace won't do the trick LOL. I'm a coke drinker so heads up to all you other coke drinkers- they only have Pepsi products, sad.... Wish they had coke, we would have stayed longer and I would have drank. This place is spectacular! I highly recommend this bar! It's fun, has a great vibe, well decorated, comfy seating, drink was phenomenally balanced to perfection, and the service was great! If you are looking for a prohibition bar or just a fun bar that has phenomenal drinks, great vibe and service... look no further 1923 Prohibition Bar is your place!

Yelp
With no sign outside, it feels like stepping into a secret world of prohibition era cocktails featuring rare whiskeys and bourbons. The intimate atmosphere is perfect for a memorable evening with friends or a romantic night out. My favorite part is that you can have a conversation during the live entertainment without having to shout or whisper. What a concept!

Yelp
We went to Kent Axell ghost stories last night. It definitely exceeded my expectations! Small venue intimate setting was perfect. Loved the show! He is very talented and this guy is going places! I can't wait to see his continued success! Highlight of our trip!

Yelp
So this speakeasy style club hidden in the upstairs' shops area of Mandalay Bay, is a sweet little spot to get some curated cocktails, enjoy some live music and chill-ax. Push open the secret door bookshelf and enter into the works of retro-lounge with a hint of Burlesque. There are barstools, cocktail tables and lounge areas with couch seating. They have Lve music and carnival acrobats and dancers too! Drinks are creative and cool and the service is good.

Yelp
Push open the bookcase and find yourself in a very dark but cool, speakeasy type bar. (Located between Mandalay Bay & Luxor in the shops, nearby the Ice Bar and RiRa Irish pub). The decor is stunning -- definitely worth a quick stroll in to see the place... Live piano music was being played last night. Music was...I'll describe it as sexy but very sleepy... slow, bedroom jam type lyrics...wasn't my vibe for the night (was looking for something more upbeat) but probably a good spot for a romantic date! Drink service was very slow at the bar, took me quite a while to get a bartender's attention.. but I thoroughly enjoyed the "Tajin Temptation", I believe it was called. Very tasty drink! Excellent choice if you like tequila.

Yelp
Wow, I am impressed! 1923 was one of the highlights of my Vegas trip. The first night we checked out the bar, they were hosting a burlesque and ghost story show. I had a butter pecan old fashioned that was absolutely delicious - The butter pecan made me return to the bar the next day. I had the pleasure of meeting the great mixologist Chewy during my visit. Chewy was attentive, personable, and certainly a great addition to the bar. He made me a banana sazerac that was quite tasty. I love when bartenders know their craft and can make legit suggestions. I had a great experience at 1923 Prohibition Bar!

Yelp
So we have been looking for a good speak easy bar in Vegas. We came across quite a few but since it was Christmas Eve most were not open. We heard good things about this place and decided to give it a try. Located inside between the Mandalay Bay and the Luxor. Once you find the sign and go through the secret bookcase you get transported into the 1923 decor. A beautifully decorated bar with classic prohibition drinks. Between this location and the Mob Museum underground bar, we are looking forward to our next trip. The service was really good.

Yelp
Had a chance to go back and had a much more welcoming experience. We came for the Ghost Stories which was held in a back room of the speakeasy (talk about secret, right?). You lose some of the ambience by walking through a brightly lit hallway to a different area of the "mall", but it was still a cool experience. We were a little bummed the drink menu for the show wasn't as robust as the bar menu, but completely understand. We came back later for some cocktails before the end of the trip and enjoyed the various old fashioned's and cocktails on the full menu. The waitstaff was amazing and glad we went WAY before last call this time.

Yelp
Great show! Must see for visitors to Vegas and Locals! Very entertaining! It's funny and mystical and the intimate setting makes it interactive!
google avatar

Karisa L.

Yelp
Cutest spot between Luxor and Mandalay Bay. We had excellent service, was not to loud so you could talk with people you were at the bar with. Drinks were incredible espresso martini was my favorite! Great spot for events or just to start the night.
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
This is a cool spot for a drink. It is at the end of the shops just before you go down the stairs/escalator to the Mandalay casino. It is kinda/sorta a speakeasy. It has a facade door, with a sign that says to push for entry. BUT it's always fun when you find a secret spot. The bar is dim and surprisingly spacious. On certain nights they have music. I'd check it out for sure, even if you just give it a walk through.

Yelp
Found Kent Axell's show by what seems like sheer serendipity... but was it? After attending his show, what seems like random chance may not be random after all! Truly a diamond in the rough, highly recommend going to Kent's show if you have the opportunity (and if there are any openings)! I was able to snag a front row seat which was amazing, but Kent ensures everyone feels included in this very intimate seance. Very charismatic, entirely spooky, and I'd go see him again in a heartbeat (please come to Seattle)!

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by finding this hidden speakeasy inside Mandalay Bay. My wife and I were looking for a quick drink before heading to the airport and lucked up here. We stopped early in the day so it was not packed, which really allowed us to take in the lovely antique styled decor. Service was great; we felt welcomed without feeling rushed. The drinks were boozy like I like them, the old fashioneds were really tasty!

Yelp
Funny this place is just around the corner from house of blues. Been by it a dozen times and never thought to go in. We went for the Ghost Stories show in the hidden chamber. The staff was friendly. The drinks are tasty. Awesome they let you pre order round 2 so it's delivered at intermission. The shown was was very intimate small boutique environment. I'd totally take anyone to this. We did walk through the rest of the speak easy earlier in the evening and it was super quant and chill vibe. I do want to go back when the environment is more popping. Still cool chill vibe in the casino is also appreciated.

Yelp
A very awesome experience. I've always wanted to attend. He was excellent! Life changing.

Yelp
My buddy is on a speakeasy trip, so if you are following, we visited quite a few speakeasy bars. Quality/Quantity - Maple Bacon - First sip was not as smooth. I did not care for the bacon rum garnish. But after I got past all that, I enjoyed the drink. Camp Fire - The better of the two drinks. The marshmallow complimented the smoked bourbon perfectly. Small snack menu available, see pictures. Atmosphere - Cool decor, see pictures. Connected to the ice bar next door, same owner. Lounge, table, bar seating. Private room available, see pictures. Entertain available on certain days and times; see website. Service - Good. Price - $40 + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your 10+ years of success.

Yelp
Such a fun place! Fabulous decor, entertaining music, and even a burlesque show. Drinks are a little pricey, but the service was good. Great place to go to with a large or small party.

Yelp
I love the cocktail menu at this place. Great options. Nothing overly sweet. I was totally surprised by the PB&J Elvis style cocktail. It was delicious.

Yelp
Ghost Stories with Kent Axell Jr. at the 1923 Prohibition Bar at Mandalay Bay is a ten!!! What a fabulous show. Unbelievable mind reading, magic and a seance that was other worldly. So amazing, fun, entertaining and truly mind blowing!! Thank

Yelp
I am glad we stumbled on this place. Love finding new speakeasys. We walked in and there were seats available at the bar. We looked over the menu and I got a peanut butter and jelly cocktail and Brian got a butter pecan one and our buddy got a bourbon flight. All were nice cocktails and tasted good. I liked the peanut butter and jelly one but it went down too quick and their prices are a bit high. We watched as the people sitting next to us ordered a bacon flight where the bartender brought up bacon hanging from this square holder and used a butane torch to crisp them up. It was a cool way to present a bacon flight for sure. The only thing that I thought was meh was the decor. There is just a curtain between the bar and minus 5 so it lets in some light here and there. It didn't feel as hidden as it should have being a speakeasy. I like the ones that are truly hidden and you have to find them.

Yelp
I actually heard about this place on TikTok! When we decided to take a trip to Vegas I had this place on my list. I didn't realize it was located in a mall! But once you step inside the "secret" door you will forget you are at a mall. Its decor is what one would expect at a Speakeasy. It's dark, has the look of the prohibition times and many places to sit. Some areas are like little lounge areas with chairs and couches but they do also have seating at the bar as well as hightop tables. It got pretty busy around 9 pm so I would suggest getting there earlier than later. The Entertainment was fantastic as well. The live piano guy was great! Very energetic and was always willing to play and sing requested song. The cocktail menu was also pretty great! They attention to detail was spot on. We had a few yummy drinks!

Steve P.

Yelp
The Ghost Stories is well worth it. Fun. Very entertaining. The drinks are hip and reasonable for Vegas.
google avatar

Henry L.

Yelp
Rating is for ghost stories. Extremely captivating and well worth the price of admission! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Whenever I visit a new town, I seek out a speakeasy type of lounge. Usually they are located in a historic building with lots of character. This one is a little more Vegas. The brick walls are wallpaper. The fireplace is a TV. There are no knotty wood beams, antique cabinets, or stamped ceiling tiles. 1923 makes up for their unauthentic historic veneer with a decent craft cocktail menu, good service, and a talented musician. We visited on a Friday-Nola Nights. The musician, Troy, is a high energy pianist and singer with a big catalog of songs. He also plays for the burlesque dancer who performs periodically throughout the night. If you visit on a Friday or Saturday, try to get there a little before 9:00 to get a seat or table near the stage. Troy will sing one of your favorites.
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
The cocktails and snacks are great. You don't need to go to minus 5 to enjoy. The maple smoked bacon is great!

Charles J.

Yelp
Great great show Very entertaining Fantastic showman Really like how it's a intimate setting. As a Vegas local I would recommend it highly
google avatar

Tammy Tara H.

Yelp
The storyteller definitely has the energy, aura, and personality to make the show very enjoyable. His interactions with the audience and very welcoming which really helps you focus on what he is saying and not doing- it's the magic. Drink prices are not too unrealistic. My only concern is that the seating area is not very handicapped/disabled friendly.
google avatar

Kimbale L.

Yelp
Cliff Notes Price Range: $$ (Price varies) Parking: Plenty Perk: Easy to get to Non-Perk: A bit loud at times Ambiance: Speakeasy (A tad dark and we loved it) Noise: Medium to high Temperature: Cold Recommend: 100% Dissertation This was a very last-minute decision that paid off on girls' night. We had lot of fun before venturing off to the Ghost Stories by Kent Axell, which will be in a different review. We did not make reservations so we were elated when we were able to get a booth. It was bustling with laughter, a piano playing genius and very nice wait staff. The booth seats were not very comfy, but we were happy we had somewhere to sit! Side Note: This speakeasy is located in the Mandalay Bay, upstairs from House of Blues and adjacent to Minus5º Ice Experience.
google avatar

Vanessa B.

Yelp
Went to see Ghost Stories, very unique experience! Interaction with the audience made it feel personal. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Scott B.

Yelp
Top-notch service and live music here in a very chill environment. First off, you've really got to see the Ghost Stories show adjacent to 1923 at 7pm first. After it ends at 8:15, ask to be seated inside the bar for some great drinks and music. We scored a table next to the piano. Live music starts a little after 9pm and Troy really gets the crowd participating and plays a wide range of music. You also are treated to some amazing burlesque performances every 20 or 30 minutes. The PB&J old fashioned made "Elvis style" (Banana Bourbon added) was superb. Fun night, fun crowd.
google avatar

Mitzi A.

Yelp
We were at the ice bar that was connected to this bar. We ordered four margaritas and they were delicious. They are a little on the pricey side but so worth the experience. The waitress was not attentive. We had to wave her down to pay. It's very cute and charming.
google avatar

Eric P.

Yelp
The Ghost Stories show was fantastic! A mix of comedy, magic, and paranormal activities. Would definitely go again.
google avatar

Kouros D.

Yelp
Super fun venue, with awesome intimate shows, the drinks were great, definitely recommended.
google avatar

Yelp
It was a Friday or Saturday night, and they had a piano player and burlesque dancer! When I go to a speakeasy, I love when they commit to making it feel authentic. It had a nondescript entrance, which was good, but there were stantions in front, which gave it away. When we got in, the backside of the door was a brick wall, and there were oak barrels stacked up on the side, which started to give it a better vibe. The bar was nice, and the drinks were pretty tasty, but I was really looking forward to the entertainment, and after a couple of drinks, we weren't disappointed! The piano man was on fire, he had a guest singer come up every few songs or so, and the burlesque dance was amazing! If you plan on trying out some speakeasies while in Las Vegas, I highly recommend checking this place out on piano night!
google avatar

Scott F.

Yelp
We had a great afternoon drink or two here on our last trip to Las Vegas. It isn't as hidden as the Instagram post make it out to be, but still it is a fun entrance and once inside has great ambiance. Has the look that one might imagine a prohibition speakeasy might have, low lights, and dark wood. As we were there in the early afternoon they were not busy and the bartender handled everything. Drinks inspired by the roaring twenties populated the menu, but the bar can make anything you like from the looks of it. We had a charcuterie box to enjoy while we sampled a couple different drinks. it had 4 different sliced meats, 4 different cheeses, olives, crackers, mustard, and I think a jalapeño jelly. It is generous enough for two people to share . A fun place to go, and we will drop in again next time we are in town.
google avatar

Ava G.

Yelp
BEST OLD FASHIONED! I ordered a PB&J old fashioned, and my dad got a classic old fashioned. Mine was absolutely delicious! The best one I've had. My dad said his was the "smoothest" he's ever had. My only complaint is that the menu does not list prices, however the prices weren't crazy (I believe around $15 per drink). I'd love to return when they have music and dancing. Such a fun vintage ambiance inside.
google avatar

Rexie S.

Yelp
We tried to go to minus 5 ice bar right as they were closing and decided to check out the speakeasy right next door. We love a good speakeasy. Cute 1920s vibe. Friendly service. Open seating. Drinks were strong but good.
google avatar

Dave P.

Yelp
We're big fans of magic; have seen close to 20 different shows in Vegas. Ghost Stories immediately vaulted into the top echelon. The intimate venue makes for a really special experience. And it really is an experience; not just a cookie cutter "magician doing tricks" show. The magic is blended cleanly into an overall production, and you leave feeling like you were really part of something. Highly recommended! We were there for the show, but the cocktails/mocktails were also top notch.

Phil R.

Yelp
Kent Axcell was great. Highly recommend the show lots of fun interactions with the audience

Kellie H.

Yelp
My husband and I went to this show! Kent puts on a great show! He's the real deal!!! Would absolutely attend again!!
google avatar

Sarah D.

Yelp
Loved the experience at this "hidden" gem. Not crowded on a Sunday night. We were able to chit chat w the bartender a bit which we always enjoy. Hubby enjoys a good ole fashioned and had many choices as this is the specialty. He found a favorite w the Cookie Monster and we are hoping to replicate it at home. I enjoyed a cocktail I cannot recall but had a vodka base. Fun ambience and my only regret is we were not there during music or entertainment. I'm sure it's an excellent place for music! I didn't like that it was connected to an ice bar as it lost some of the secret appeal but it was fine. Would repeat visit and recommend!
google avatar

Rommel P.

Yelp
You must see Ghost Stories with Kent Axell. I was amazed and astounded. Although the drink prices were expensive, they were delicious.
google avatar

Nancy H.

Yelp
Drinks and atmosphere was very fitting to the time period. A little disappointed it's called a speakeasy but so easy to find. However, seems they have some good events. Staff was great and overall very good experience.

David B.

Yelp
This place was awesome. Stumbled upon it with a group of friends. Simply enjoyed every aspect of it from the atmosphere, drink selection and entertainment. My only regret is I accidentally spilled my drink and they wouldn't let me clean up the mess I created. I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Sheila A.

Yelp
Love the enchanting feeling when entering! The staff are wonderful and the drinks are good! Really enjoyed the Ghost Stories show too! It was engaging, spooky, and a whole lot of fun!
google avatar

Audrey P.

Yelp
What a cool place! Was just walking around and checking out the area in Vegas and found this Speakeasy. You just push the door open and step into a different world, as you can see. I ordered a chocolate martini and watched the bartender make it. They really take great pride in mixing the drinks. Watched them make and test the garnishes in another drink. Lots of fun and the bartenders were great conversationalists.
google avatar

Yelp
We loved this show so much we had to come back bringing our guests. Such an amazing show and experience! I have chills. Can't wait to see it again.

Yelp
Amazing show - witty and funny and great theatrics. Would definitely come back for the great vibes, drinks and intimate show.
