Seattle’s Hottest New Bars, Winter 2025

"Georgetown’s nightlife scene has become more energized with this unique new addition, thanks to Asian-inspired cocktails, tasty small bites, and a neon-lined stage for karaoke and local performers. The full bar serves an array of classic cocktails too (plus wine and beer) but this is the kind of place where you’ll want to go adventurous. A good place to start is with any one of the bar’s tea-infused concoctions, or the Audrey, a delectable cocktail with whiskey, yuzu, hibiscus tea, lemon and just the right amount of egg white." - Brianna Gunter

Randomly stopped in here with my best friend (we're both born in 1988 so we had to stop) and we're so glad we did! Such a cute little place. Great vibes, great drinks and food. 90's pop music on the radio. Wish I lived closer because I would be in here every week!

Found a new great cocktail bar in seattle after a long time! We ended up ordering 10 different cocktails and all of them were absolutely brilliant. And our host Morgen was a delight too. Super fun and friendly

Felt welcomed from the moment I made eye contact with a warm, engaging and friendly host. The bar had pleasant scenery, and some of the best Thai, Italian, American fusion originals that I’ve tasted. The specialty cocktail was artfully crafted, refreshing, soothing and wet my palette. This is one of my newest favorites, and I encourage you to take the five minute drive to taste and experience for yourselves! The art in the neighborhood, spot on, too!

We had such a good time here. Very casual and intimate space. No reservations needed but we got there early as we did have a fairly large party. The drinks were specially crafted-we also ordered a beer tower with soju. The food was tasty and delicious. Highly recommended!

Stopped by 1988 Cocktail Lounge for a nightcap and was impressed! Their cocktail menu is thoughtful and beautifully crafted, with an Asian fusion twist on each drink. I tried the Shenron and the Weasleys—both unique and full of flavor. I also ordered a side of fries with a fish sauce flavor that added a nice touch. The bartender, Daniel, was attentive and fun to chat with. Perfect spot if you’re looking for creative cocktails and good vibes!

Heard about this fun Asian fusion bar and had to try it out. Cool friendly staff and nice cozy atmosphere. Decided to try some drinks! Cocktails: Momo - hochija tea infused whisky, brown sugar Boba syrup. This was super unique and a fun experience, would recommend! Love Potion - Vodka, lemon, cranberry, hibiscus tea, rose water. This one was a hit at the table Juniper - Gin, tangerines, lemon, chrysanthemum, egg whites. Refreshing! Into the Forrest, a smoked bourbon drink. This drink grabs attention, a must try for Bourbon fans. Hot B*tch spicy tequila drink. As a lover of spicy stuff, this was my fave On to the food: Banh Mi Smash Burger - if you like banh mi, and you like burgers, well, you can see where this is going. Very creative and delicious! Fried Chicken Thigh burger (It's a special, call to see if available). This was our favorite! One of the best chicken sandwiches I've had. I'd come back just for this dish! Enoki Fritters - such a good appetizer, very popular at the table! Everyone kept commenting how good it was. Who knew you could fry enoki. I mean, you can fry anything but the execution is fantastic here. Umami Fries! So addicting and delicious! If you told me you can mix fish sauce and fries, I woulda thought it's a crazy concept. Absolutely scrumptious. We came back at night to 1988 and to our surprise, the bar was popping with karoke! I'm pretty stage shy, and the staff were so inclusive that I had to give it a try. Such a fun experience here! Unlike other places that call themselves asian fusion but just serve multiple ethnic Asian food, this place is legit Asian fusion with so much creativity. We'll definitely be back! (Last note: they have a small backyard patio that's dog friendly! With heat lamps!)

Super-cool spot. Loved the cucumber salad cocktail and all the old fashioned options. The umami fries were so good! Can't wait to go back and try everything else.

Google
Chill and delicious bar with very cute and refreshing drinks, and savory dishes. We had a big group so was able to try a bunch of different drinks, and each were unique, presentation on point, and flavor pops. The Momo was amazing—whiskey scent but with brown sugar chaser. Autumns up was fruity and fresh, Love Spell light and sweet/tangy, and the Mai Wake Up Call was a great 21+ Vietnamese coffee. Don’t sleep on the food either, as each dish we ordered was delicious.

Yelp
What a hidden gem in Georgetown! 1988 is one of the few cocktail lounges in the area and is Asian inspired. Their menu is creative, thoughtful, and beautiful. Momo was the strongest alcohol flavor of the cocktails. We did not try the food but want to next time! It was busy at 10:30pm with a small wait. There are roughly 10 tables and bar seating.

Yelp
Do you love cocktails or Karaoke? Well if you love one or the other then you should be coming here. My never ending search for great cocktail bars whenever im home visiting lead me here. If you take a look at the menu they've got some really adventurous unique drinks to try along with the classics. If you're not into cocktails then stay and hang for the karaoke. You can sing up front or you can sing from your seat, but if you are into cocktails then im sure you'll probably want an espresso martini. Thats usually the magic words for everyone 30+. Now if you're feeling adventurous and love boba then you've gotta try the Momo. This is your adult boba cocktail and honestly one of the best drinks they have. Tried the Juniper which was super refreshing, the Shenron which if you love Pandan this is a must try, and the Zenith was an experience to be had. Definitely will be making my way here whenever I'm in town to get my cocktail fix. If you havent heard of this place, and have b een on the hunt for some great cocktails or even just a fun place to karaoke then check this place out.

Yelp
Update!: I've now been here several times and this is what you should know. Drinks: As a cocktail person, I will confidently say, these are the best cocktails south of downtown. My top for the area would be 1. 1988 Cocktail Lounge 2. Velvet Elk 3. The Alley Food: The food here oddly oddly extremely good. The burger is the standout and if you like the burger down the street... congrats - you have a new fav here. Staff: Everyone here is amazingly amazingly friendly and genuinely happy to be working. What can be better: Look you're going to have to be in a particular mood for this Neo-asian style vibe that may or may not start to play loud pop music, but you're doing yourself a disservice if you let that stop you from visiting here... Everything else here is phenomenal and also made with care and creativity. - Updating my previous score to perfect!

Yelp
Drinks are yummy and aesthetic. Staff is attentive and super nice. I got a complimentary birthday drink so bonus points for that. I definitely have to come back when it's late at night for karaoke.

Yelp
Great for late night dinner with friends or a romantic dinner. Came here a few times with friends and this place never disappoints. The banh mi is savory and juicy. The fries that come with it is immaculate. Best fries I've ever had that is not from a fast food joint. Super crispy and crunchy and it comes with a special sauce. The creamy udon is one of my favorites. Filled with lots of flavor! Everyone here is so welcoming and makes this place energetic! The service is top tier. They're very fast and attentive. Highly recommend bringing your family and friends here!

Yelp
We haven't had food here yet, but have visited twice for cocktails at the bar. The staff is attentive and friendly and the bartenders are extremely talented. I love sitting at the bar and watching them carefully create their beautiful drinks. Each cocktail is a piece of art, and every cocktail I've had here is so good. So balanced. So beautiful. The decor is dark and cozy, perfect for a date night.

Yelp
We went on a saturday night around 10pm. It wasn't super busy with about 5 other tables. No wait! But it started to get full around 11:30pm. Food was super good. We got: Pho Poutine 5/5: Tastes JUST like pho! Super flavorful. Enoki Fitters 4.5/5: super crispy. The yuzu aioli was a perfect pairing. The cocktails were a show stopper. Every single cocktail was balanced and well thought out. Barely can taste the alcohol but they were definitely strong. The absolute best was the Geisha which reminded me of ice tea drinks at a very high end tea/boba shops in China. The DTF drink was also amazing. It reminded me of the cucumber salad at Din Tai Fung but in drink form! It was so yummy. 10/10 service Will be back soon!

Yelp
Fairly new cocktail bar in Georgetown! This place specializes in more Asian ingredients, with a number of drinks that are tea-based. I appreciated that they list out which drinks on the menu have caffeine, for those that are cautious in having caffeine at night. We went here on a Saturday night around 9pm and there were a few open tables left, and it got less busy as the night goes on but surprisingly the last hour before closing drew in a full house. We tried the following cocktails: 1) Momo - very strong, undiluted cocktail with hojicha tea infused whiskey and boba syrup. It is basically an alcoholic boba milk tea drink, and I am a fan 2) Geisha - good notes of lychee, jasmine tea-based cocktail. Good presentation with the butterfly that is actually edible as it is rice paper 3) Zenith - presented in another nice chinaware, you savor notes of pho flavor and it is really smooth, easy to drink 4) Juniper - I am a sucker for egg whites so I had to get this. Presentation on the egg white is not as good as the other drinks. The drink is quite citrusy with the orange peel shavings on top as garnish, and the chrysanthemum complements with that. We got the umami fries that pairs extremely well with the Zenith as the fries involved fish sauce, basil, Thai chili peppers, etc. For $9, it was good value as the portion was huge. Service was decent as the drinks were delivered in a timely manner and water refills are present. Overall, this is a cool cocktail bar and it is currently still considered a hidden gem, but it is up and coming!

Yelp
We were exploring around Georgetown and stumbled upon the 1988 Cocktail Lounge. The decor looked really nice inside. Nice friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. We saw they also have a small backyard patio that's dog friendly! With heat lamps! We were promptly seated and decided to try some drinks! Yelp
Went on a Wednesday night with a big group for a birthday celebration and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. They pushed tables together so we could all sit as a group. We brought Crumbl cookies and they were cool with us snacking on them at the bar. The drinks were both aesthetic and delicious (I tried the Love Spell, which is rose-infused, and one of the tea cocktails). The food was amazing too. I had the pho poutine, umami fries, Brussels sprouts, and veggie egg rolls. All were great, but the Brussels sprouts were a standout! Overall, it's a great bar with a fun vibe. Bonus: Happy hour on Wednesday runs from 9pm-midnight. Definitely coming back to try more!

Yelp
We stumbled upon 1988 when searching for dinner/drinks close to the Museum of Flight, and I'm so glad we did! You can't beat their Happy Hour offerings, although I did opt for a cocktail that was not included in the HH promos. The Love Potion cocktail was superb--10/10 for presentation and taste! As for our food, we ordered the Pho Poutine and it was the perfect execution of two very different worlds & cuisines. We also had the friend Enoki mushrooms, which were excellent as well. To top it all off, the service and ambiance were spectacular too! We will definitely be back to try more. And maybe their sister restaurant next door. :)

Yelp
We popped in for a quick drink before dinner next door, but we could have stayed much longer just sitting at the bar and watching the artistry go into the hand crafted cocktails. Wow!!! It's impressive!! The Love Spell comes with a side car atomizer (filled with rose water I assume) which is a gorgeous presentation. The Zenith is served in a porcelain teapot type cup with smoke pumped inside. I wanted one just for the unveiling experience!! The cocktails all have such artistry that they create a unique cocktail experience that I only really observed. I need to come back to immerse myself in this!

Yelp
I love coming here for happy hour, it's near my house so easy to get to. This is a fun newer spot in Georgetown and they have an amazing cocktail menu and some great bar bites. Jasmine has been my server several of my visits and she's so friendly and inviting! Dark moody bar vibe and they will do late night karaoke! If you're looking for more family friendly spot they have Kuma right next door, they share a kitchen and have a fuller food menu with a lot of the same drink options!

Yelp
We fell in love with 1988 on our first trip. Each of the bartenders and hostess had in ears "com" to communicate quickly with one another. It's brilliant and makes for a service experience that is above and beyond. I tried the Zenith which is a smoked cocktail with a house made pho simple syrup. It sounds crazy but it is next level cocktail craftsmanship. We will return soon to experience more of 1988's offerings.

Yelp
I was looking to grab a cocktail and some food in Georgetown, and both were fantastic here. Plus I got top tier service - the host Morgen was super helpful, fun and engaging! As a gin lover, I really enjoyed the Theros cocktail and the double smash burger was the perfect evening meal with my drink.

Yelp
What a great new addition to Georgetown! Stop by with my friends to visit our friend's new lounge. It's very classy inside. The menu and drinks are definitely Asian forward and I love every bit of it. Some of the drinks are fun take on classic Vietnamese dishes and the menu had a lot of great options. I had unfortunately already eaten so we settled for some appetizers.. the enoki fritter were perfectly seasoned and oh so crispy. Didn't care for the sauce that accompanied the fritter because I think a garlic aioli would be a tastier option than the spicy Mayo dip they offered but that's just a personal opinion. My friends and I really enjoyed this place. It was really fun and we had a great time. I had the gravity drinks and zenith. Lemme tell you though the zenith drink is so delicious. It's suppose to remind you of pho and they really nailed it. Had great flavored and the drinks had all the tasty aromatics of pho. Morgan was our server and she was amazing at handling our big group. There were 9 of us trying to get a big table and ordering drinks and shots. She's amazing. Oh most of my friends ordered the salty bitch and raved about how good their cocktail was. If you're familiar with chanh muoi (Vietnamese salty lemonade) that was exactly what it tastes like. Anyways, stop by and check it out for yourself! We'll definitely be back to try some of the food.

Guess W.

Yelp
In general I'm not a cocktail person however the drinks here are amazing. The creativity and concoctions they have are truly different. The food is also really good. Fried enokis are a must. The smash Burger is actually legit! It has pickles in there which is blasphemy. However I still are it and it was freaking good. Will I eat pickles room now on.... That's still a no. Throw in a lil live karaoke and you are gonna have a blast! I would highly recommend coming here!
google avatar

Angela P.

Yelp
Food and drinks were so good! I love the Asian inspired flavors and dishes. Service was excellent! I got the Bo Ne and fries, and The Zenith for my drink. We also got the soju tower. I'm going to try the banh mi smash burger next, I heard it was a 10/10! Love this place, it's a cool / cute spot for a hang out, plus they have a small outdoor patio. Definitely my new go to spot
google avatar

Yelp
I came on a Sunday afternoon for some cocktails and did not regret it. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was solid and drinks were yummy. I was surprised how much I liked the fried rice! Simple but tasty. The "zenith" pho inspired cocktail was an interesting drink too. I'll be back to try the other cocktails!! I recommend this place if you're looking for a casual spot to have a drink and unwind.
google avatar

Mimi S.

Yelp
This place was so fun! It was a great way to celebrate mine and my fiancé's engagement. The karaoke topped off the experience!
google avatar

Maureen C.

Yelp
My friends and I have been coming here every month since they opened, the drinks are incredible and the nights they have karaoke are a lot of fun. While we come for the drinks and atmosphere, we stay because the hostess Morgan is super friendly and accommodating. She makes it work for our larger group even on nights that seating seems impossible.

Yelp
Checked out this new bar in Georgetown with friends. The unique and delicious drinks will definitely keep me coming back and there were a variety of delicious foods to try that you don't see everywhere else. I tried the Juniper which was light and refreshing and you can't go wrong with the bo ne and garlic noodles. Servers were friendly, made sure we were hydrated with delicious drinks, and gave great recommendations.
google avatar

Min J K.

Yelp
We had the fries it was very umani flavor. Service was fast. Very modern type of vibe.
google avatar

Sochetra S.

Yelp
A new gem in Georgetown. We visited during their soft opening night and we were not disappointed. The ambiance strikes a balance between modern and cozy. And the staff were extremely friendly. We tried the Mai Wake Up Call, Salty B*tch, Sheron and Zenith, all of which were amazing with its own unique Asian inspired touch. We also ordered some finger foods, the umami fries and garlic green beans which were a nice pairing to the drinks. We will definitely be back to try their entire menu!
google avatar

PJ P.

Yelp
The drinks are so good. I had the Love Spell, Shisho Pretty and Geisha. Each one was amazing. The service is just as good as the umami fries! Morgan you're amazing!!! Can't wait to come back
google avatar

Milena B.

Yelp
Came for happy hour, mid week, after an event downtown. Cute decor, cool ambiance, and the staff was so friendly and helpful:-) The brussels, fried enokis and pho fries were fantastic. Would highly recommend hitting up this spot; daytime or evening!
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
Love this new cocktail bar in the neighborhood!! I've tried the Zenith, the Geisha and the Autumn's up. All three were delicious and beautifully presented. Food at the soft opening was also really good, currently it looks like they have a bar food only menu but the fries and other nibbles are great supplements to your drinks. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, I highly recommend you check it out!!
google avatar

Mi P.

Yelp
Great food and cocktails!!! Salty bitch (preserved salty lemon) is my favorite! Definitely need to come back again to try other drinks
google avatar

Trinh L.

Yelp
Came here a few weeks ago with friends for drinks because we didn't wanna go all the way to downtown for drinks and pay $30 for parking when you could use that extra $ for more alcohol. Turned out to be a great decision. This is an Asian fusion bar. I really like how they incorporated Vietnamese ingredients in their cocktails! The food here is amazing. The MANGO SALAD is a MUST GET. I also tried the Salty Bitch and it was really good. It's literally is an alcoholic electrolyte drink. No Hangover the next day. Staff there were super friendly! Would definitely come back.
google avatar

Anh N.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night for the first time. I like that the place was dim and little lighting makes it quite warm. The server (Morgen) that served us was exceptional and quite funny. I told her I don't drink and she recommended the best mocktail with ginger (extra gingery! Yum. For food, I definitely liked the French fries and the smash burger.

D B.

Yelp
Food and service was great, we will return and try more dishes. The waitlist was great and accurately timed.
google avatar

Chrisha B.

Yelp
My husband and I really like 1988! It's an initmate space where you can sit with friends and chat the night away. The staff is very attentive and checked in on us from time to time. I highly reccomend the umami fries, enoki fritters, and the Audrey. Definitely going back again!
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
The cocktails were so good! And that enoki fritter, so crispy, it was perfect. Mango salad was refreshing, green beans were also very tasty. We ordered 7 cocktails for our table and it came out really fast. They all looked great and tasted just like the descriptions. Will definitely come back again to try more of their food items.

Thai N.

Yelp
I was driving around town and happened to see a new spot that just opened up. My wife and I sat by the bar. We ordered 4 signature cocktails, they were all really good. We also tried the "bo be" and the banh mi burger. It has a fusion flavor of american and Vietnamese cuisine. I thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. We will definitely come back to this place the next time we are in town.
google avatar

Edward N.

Yelp
Best cocktail bar in Seattle: feels good, smells good and the drinks are delicious. I recommend the Weasley's or whatever it is they're putting the mysterious steam into.

HK K.

Yelp
Great new place in Georgetown. The cocktails were innovative and delicious. And the fun bar food (we had a burger, umami fries, and fried enoki mushrooms) was flavored right. The highlight was the staff, Morgan, who was attentive, responsive, and clearly knew her stuff. Will definitely go back.

T M.

Yelp
I was looking forward to visiting this place. Unfortunately the hostess (a white woman) who checked in my party was incredibly rude to me. Made an unnecessary comment, even threw the menu at me when we got seated. Thankfully she was not our server and another woman was. She was really nice and welcoming. Glad my experience with her turned the night around. Most likely will not come back as customer service is something important to me. Best of luck to this new business.

Yelp
A place you don't to sleep on! This is a new asian fusion food and bar joint in Georgetown. Wife and I decided to check it out on their soft opening and this place was just beyond expectations from the creative drinks to the exquisite food menu. We tried the Zenith and Juniper drinks and they're both bangers! If you love Vietnamese pho, the Zenith doesn't fail to bring the aroma of the spices and herbs. Juniper was just the right amount of sweetness and bubbliness for the lady. Now, can we talk about the food?! We had the Natang, the corn, fries, and chicken sliders. Natang was a superb blend of Cambodian flavored ground pork served on tasty bread. Corn was pure goodness if you like Mexican corn (elote). Fries and chicken sliders were the stars of the show. Both were utterly flavorful with fries being crispy and smothered in some kind of fish sauce on crack and chicken sliders being on point with crunchiness and drizzled with a nice sweet/savory sauce of its own. The ambiance is something to talk about as well. The music was mainly a lot of popular Asian pop songs that you may have heard on Instagram and Tiktok. The decor and lighting made it cool and modern just like the Georgetown neighborhood. Service was quick and friendly! Definitely would be here again when we are in town. I bet their restaurant Kuma attached next door will be as equally amazing as well!

McCarthy K.

Yelp
new spot in G townnnnnnn! atmosphere is awesome! drinks are really good! defiantly going back to try the rest of the menu.

Aliyana G.

Yelp
Went here for dinner with my friends and the food and drinks were amazing! Loved the different types of asian foods and asian-style cocktails. Our waitress was very kind and the interior has a really nice vibe. Will definitely be going again (:

Lisa F.

Yelp
First time here and I ordered the shrimp fried rice and the garlic green beans it was so good! The service was fast and on point, always making sure we had water and checked in to see if we needed anything. The ambiance was pretty nice, not too bright or too loud. I will definitely be back to try the interesting drinks on the menu!
